“A little?! You call reeling and passing out in the streets a little! Bob I told you before Im never going out with you when you’re drinking and I mean it.”

Noticed this upon my last rewatch but as Cherry yells at him, pointing out his behavior and how it’s both mortifying and cause for concern. He doesn’t say anything. Bob has this just blank almost pouty look on his face and ignores her eyes, just stared down and took another drink. It was Randy who was the one to ramp things up again.

It further leads into my belief of them having a good relationship, perhaps his pouty little look works most of the time but here. All Bob wants is this exact reaction… but from his parents. (Have a whole meta: here) yet there is something in that he doesn’t snap back at Cherry he just looks pathetic.

I also do believe he really doesn’t “understand” and it’s not just him being drunk. The desire to be told off by his parents isn’t exactly a conscious and known thought… to bob all he really knows is drinking is just one of the ways you relax and have a little fun. Everyone’s doing it! So why’s Cherry so weird about it? It’s that - rat race mob mentality — that constant seeking of something to occupy or distract themselves with that socs are so steeped in. It’s so interesting that on some level in that pout he’s ashamed— but the way to deal with harsh and weird feelings is exactly what he’s already doing. It’s almost self fulfilling.

I’ve been thinking about Bob a lot more lately in that I’ve been thinking about Cherry. It’s a consideration Pony has himself when he’s bed bound, thinking about what Bob was really like as a person. You know we never once see him sober?
