So. um. my singing monsters. au. fanfiction. im gay guys.

ive been having this au for a while now but seeing other msm au's (PLUSHII AND BEAR IM LOOKING RIGHT AT YALL /POS) gave me the motivation and inspiration to finally put my gay creatures on the internet

The peacefulness of plant island was obsolete at this point. The reason why? Monopoly. It was a strange practice introduced by humans in their more recent comings to the realm of the Monstrous. The strange hairless creatures had brought a lot of suffering, but new joys were discovered as well. This was not one of them.

"Dixxie you piece of shit. YOU LANDED ON MY GODDAMN PROPERTY. GIVE ME THE FUCKING MONEY DIPSHIT." Auro, an epic furcorn who was clearly not having good luck in this round, was ranting about how Dixxie wasn't following the rules of the game. The shrubb was obviously not listening. "Auro, that counts as mugging me you know," she said with a smug grin. "NO IT FUCKING DOESN'T??? WHAT ??" Auro was making a scene about how he was about to flip the board, to the annoyance of the others, when a voice stopped them.

"Guys, can you please uh, be quieter? I keep getting startled by your yelling and it's messing up my work and--"

"Shut the fuck up Ricky. Do your work someplace else, I'm too busy getting fucking mugged by Auro."

"STOP FUCKING SAYING THAT, I WILL BITE YOU."

"Ahem: Nuh uh."

"Uhh.. O-okie dokie then. Yeah. ...Goodbye."

Ricky decided it wasn't a good idea to stay in the commotion. Just the thought of staying there made him more anxious and made his face reflexively wince. It's funny that humans believe the concept that 4-element monsters are the commanders or rulers of their home islands. And then, we have Ricky. Entbrats are usually loud, obnoxious, confident, and not always the brightest of the bunch. But Ricky was the opposite from his peers. A socially anxious but highly intelligent monster. He walked and walked for what felt like forever, past corner stores, a hospital, and a school. His cabin was small, but it was his little world. This was what he saw when he isolated himself from the other monsters. It was safe here. It was warm, and comforting, along with the fact that he could conduct his studies in peace. What did he even study? Who fucking knows. Some nerdy science biology fucking shit. Fucking nerd. Fucking goober. He had just sat down when something struck his mind.

Usha!

He needed to feed his pet bird. The plant island critters need to eat a lot to survive with their small, frail bodies. And Usha in particular was very, very fussy when she was hungry. The critters are also just loud and chaotic in general. It's a wonder how he even managed to tame one and convince her to stay with him. He didn't like the human concept of keeping your pet companions in cages and confining them, so she just sort of hung out in his house, free to fly around in any room she wanted. Speaking of which, where was she?

"Usha! Here!"

Silence.

"Well then."

He poured a portion of various flower seeds from a paper bag into a small tin and shook it for a few seconds. Sure enough, the small bird zoomed towards him at the familiar sound. He placed the tin down on the side of his work table, where Usha quickly followed. He sat down and opened one of his textbooks, setting his notepad next to it. A few hours passed by. After a while, the words became blurred and the letters seemed to move in on each other. His body felt as if he was melting into his chair, and he rested his head in his hand, putting his elbow on the table.

-Well, I don't see any harm in closing my eyes for a few minutes...-

He shut his eyes and set his pen down, his papers a jumbled mess. His knee stopped bouncing, and after a short time the entbrat was asleep. Usha perched on his shoulder, ruffling herself in the warmth of his oddly fluffy leaves. The moon looked down on its world. The clock read "1:27 AM." Tomorrow was a new day.

cursed child broadway, December 28, 2019

my sister (S) and i were fortunate enough to get tickets for the third row, right by the aisle, making us right in the center.  I was a bit worried about the seats being so close to the stage, but it was absolutely amazing to be so close to the action. it was immersive, and i felt like i was part of the action.

S is my polar opposite.  she’s not a potterhead, for starters, and likes to call me (and everyone else in the theater, especially those in cosplay) a loser.  she’s heavily involved with her school’s theater -- acting and stage crew -- and i call her a theater nerd.  she’s an aspiring actress, and almost gave my mom a heart attack when she announced her plan to study acting in college (they compromised, and now S intends to major in psychology in addition to acting).  i didn’t know she was interested in cursed child since she eschews all ‘nerdy’ things, but she said that she ‘wanted to see how bad it was.’

she’s been the only extrovert in our family since she was born. she’s a hatstall between gryffindor and slytherin (although she identifies with the lion).  if you’re reading this, i’m assuming you like cursed child and perhaps are involved with the fandom.  ever read the tea time series on ao3? S is lily luna.  she’s the embodiment of how everyone writes lily luna.  she cursed out our dad a few days ago.  she made me spend the equivalent of two hours of work on fucking soda and popcorn because she didn’t listen to me when i told her to pack a clif bar.  this is what i put up with.

she actually enjoyed the show!  i was shocked.  she loved the effects.

after part one, she turned to me and went, “please just tell me one thing: do albus or scorpius die?”

i was surprised by her question.

she explained: “because at this point all i care about is their romance, and if they don’t get together or if they die i’m leaving the theater.”

this is coming from someone who ranted to me about how she doesn’t understand why people ship non-canon pairings since ‘not every friendship has to be romance.’ and here she was genuinely invested in scorbus? my heart…

i’m a good big sister, so i told her really vague statements like “our heroes will find themselves in danger several times during this act...” “one person’s pain is used to inflict pain on the other” and similar things.  eventually, she became convinced that scorpius would be revealed to be voldemort’s son and harry would accidentally kill him. not sure how she came up with that.

i guess everyone caught the plague? the coughing would Not stop.  S started making fun of them. and it’s like...everyone was a-okay during wand dance.  there were no coughs in the opening choreography for part two.  no, everyone had to succumb to coughing fits during the quiet, emotional moments.

for every. emotional. scene. maybe they were choked up on their tears.

at the last minute we decided to do stage door.  as in, we had already left the theater, saw the line outside, and were like, “sure.” unfortunately we had left our playbills in the theater since my hands were occupied holding her soda and popcorn since apparently she’s incapable of doing so…

i’m using google and my shitty facial recognition to remember who was who.  we (she) spoke to zell steele morrow (young harry), karen janes woditsch (mcgonagall), nadia brown (rose), james snyder (harry), and nicholas podany (albus).  unfortunately, we had to catch our train and left just as jonno roberts (draco) came out :( i think he was S’s favorite.

anyway here are my (our) thoughts:

1. Characters

~nicholas podany is a really good albus! he’s very mischievous, and you can see the wheels in his head turning as he comes up with his (increasingly more ridiculous) plans.  whenever he comes up with an idea he looks at scorpius like :O and it gets funnier as the play goes on.

~bubba weiler is a lot of fun. he’s very physical actor, and he really hams it up.  his scorpius is meant to be seen rather than read.  most of the comic relief is written for scorpius, and there seemed to be roars of laughter after every other line.  he shook his hips at “MALFOOYYYY THE UNAANXIOUSSS” and (exaggeratedly) pretended to march in place for “MY GEEKNESS IS A-QUIVERING!!” he purred at rose.  he flailed his entire body around when he was crucio-d :( one thing i noticed was how he carried himself.  scorpius spent a lot of time sitting hunched over, rocking slightly back and forth (most noticeable when he was introduced, but he hunched over and rocked on the staircase several times as well). when he stands he’s rubbing his thumbs or the hems of his robes.  his leg was bouncing nonstop in the library scene.  anyway what i’m trying to say is scorpius malfoy is neurodivergent. ableists don’t interact.

~for some reason S says that both scorpius and albus are unlikeable, but they’re cute together.  she was very proud when scorpius yelled at albus for being “the most terrible friend.”

~the chemistry between scorbus is There. it’s clear podany and weiler are close friends irl; they’re extremely comfortable together and play off each other really well.  

~matt mueller is great as ron. he works well with what he’s been given...not his fault thorne/tiffany decided to make ron a caricature with very little resemblance to canon ron...but that’s a rant for another day :] he’s delightful on stage.  he’s funny and charming.

~i’ll admit i wasn’t really feeling jenny jules as hermione, at least in part one.  she’s really playful, especially in the scene in her office where she offers harry a “to~fee~!” she was really great in the dark timeline, however.

~my romione heart

~the man himself, james snyder as harry potter!  was um, very shouty? very angry all the time.  he’s under a lot of stress.  his son disappeared in time.  i’ll let it slide.

~jonno roberts was literally draco malfoy.  his sneer, his swagger, everything was absolutely as i imagined draco 20 years in the future would be.  he’s so protective of scorpius...when the adults travel back to 1981 to find their sons, he picks scorpius up as they hug? and then instead of breaking apart, he sort of...put one arm around scorpius’s neck? like a backwards neck travel pillow thing. scorpius held his arm as draco looked around behind him for any danger.  it was really cute.

~diane davis was a really protective ginny.  all the fiery ginny from the books that was absent from the films made its way into her.  

2. Scenes

~one criticism i have is the fact that everyone speaks really quickly.  it’s a five hour play and i get that they’re trying to contain all the dialogue within that time but like...it’s a dialogue-heavy show.  i knew what was going on since i’m familiar with the script and the story, but there were parts when S and other members of the audience were confused. this was especially noticeable during the trolley witch scene.  literally nothing could be heard over the music and the sound effects, and several people around us were audibly confused and asking each other what was happening.  i mean, it doesn’t make a lot more sense with the dialogue, but at least let us hear what the characters are saying!

~podany, snyder, and (at times) weiler were the worst offenders.  weiler’s good at physical comedy, punctuating his iconic lines with clownlike movements for laughs since no one would know what he’s saying otherwise.  e.g. “we stand over the baby and scream” was almost inaudible, so we just heard “HEEELLLPPP HEEEEELLLP!” it was effective since the whole theater laughed, i guess. take this with a grain of salt; we were only a few feet away from the stage, so maybe our audio wasn’t the best.  

~roberts was crystal clear at all times

~S fell in love with scorbus during the staircase ballet.  if you’ve seen that one clip from this cast you know why.  the YEARNING.

~the LIBRARY scene! i reblogged audio of this a few months ago. oh my god, it’s perfect.  it hits the emotional highs and lows.  when albus said, “i wasn’t a loser before i met you,” there was a collective gasp and we all “OOOOOOOOOOH”-ed.  everyone was invested in this. weiler’s performance is really emotional, he’s holding back tears, i’m holding back tears. podany’s gets so soft when he talks about how kind he is.  i actually clenched my heart. “friends?” “always.” audience: “OOOOOOOOOH!”

~i can confirm that myrtle’s “girls...AND BOYS” is directed straight at albus.  his eyes widen, and he sheepishly shrugs his shoulders and is very excited to change the topic.

~scorpius’s imaginary friend was named hector.  idk if he improvises it every time, or if he decided to change it to hector from flurry, but his delivery was great.  sweetly: “oh, i had one of those too!” scathing hiss: “HECTOR.”

~the biggest jumpscare of the play was when scorpius emerged from the lake at the end of part one.  it was all dark, and then he shoots out of the water, gasping. i jumped.

~voldemort walked down the aisle right next to us.  S was terrified that he’s jump or touch her, so she curled up next to me.

~i was interested in how the penultimate scene would play out, since i heard that weiler and podany really play up their relationship, but scorpius had spent every scene with rose purring at her.  she came and imitated a scorpion when she said “scorpion king,” curving her hand and making a hissing noise, which elicited a few “oohs” from the audience.  then the Hug...the “new version of us” line is said as they hug, and they just. stood there for a few moments, hugging.  when albus goes “you better ask rose” scorpius looks up at him and blinks, goes, “.........uh oh yeah, rose….” and goes off stage.  right before he exits he looks at albus, and albus keeps watching him after he leaves. uhh anyway scorbus is canon and so is pollyrose

~“dad...i don’t want to be a wizard anymore.” (dead silence) “i want to go into pigeon racing” *breaks into the biggest shit-eating grin and cracks up*.  the last shot is harry holding albus as he silently weeps.  Ookay.

~due to several instances of childhood trauma, my sister’s biggest fear is birds (especially chickens, ostriches, and...pigeons).  she didn’t know why people laughed at harry’s confession that he was afraid of pigeons, because to her that’s a valid fear.  we saw a pigeon in the train station and she almost cried.

3. Stage door

~S did most of the talking.  she told everyone “so sorry we don’t have our playbill! you did such a great job!” and then struck up mini conversations.  i stood nodding like “good job!” looking like this :]

~first up was (i believe) zell steele morrow! he’s so cute and was really upbeat.  S finally found someone shorter than her…

~karen janes woditsch asked what houses we’re in.  S was like “gryffindor!” and she smiled, i told her “ravenclaw” and she was like, “well...i love all my students equally….”

~i didn’t recognize james snyder since he was dressed like he was in the arctic.  neither did S.

~nadia brown was so sweet!  you could tell she really loved seeing fans.  there was a group behind us in line who apparently were here for their third viewing, and they conversed like they were old friends.

~nicholas podany came out wearing a t shirt. in december.  i was cold because i forgot to wear gloves and he came out in a t shirt.  the group behind us asked if he was cold and he said that he was hot from running around the stage.  S told him that he did great, she asked how long he was performing (ten months since february) and her response was “oh, that makes sense, you were good!” he went on about how he loves performing, how each night is different based on the crowd and how we were such a great crowd, and i could feel S like. sinking into the sidewalk. i just nodded at him and went “good job.”

~he’s my height, maybe slightly shorter (i’m 5’6/167 cm) and very pale.  i think S has a crush on him since she wants to go back to “apologize for being so awkward.” growing up she had a crush on daniel radcliffe, too, so i guess she has a thing for potters.

~the group behind us went on about how much they loved harry potter, had been fans their whole lives, etc. podany’s apparently a huge potterhead, but not the biggest in the cast: they all came together to see who was the biggest potterhead, and the answer is the actor who plays cedric (forgot his name and the internet isn’t helping, sorry!) -- his tv (?) remote is in the shape of a wand! the rest of them are nerdy enough to fact-check the director lmao

~we didn’t get to actually speak with jonno roberts, but we saw him interacting with other fans.  he seems like a cool guy.

The Power A Good Suit Can Give You

Blaine could honestly say that he loved his job. At least for the most part. Sure, there were quite a few really intense customers, but he got to be around comic books and video games all day, and the environment was really friendly.

When Sam had told him he’d gotten a job at a ‘nerd’ store, he had been really proud of his friend. And when two weeks after that Sam told him one of his co-workers left to be a stay-at-home dad and proposed that he go for the job, he had felt really excited.

Not a lot of things had changed after he’d started working, besides the fact that he felt a little bit more like an actual adult and that he didn’t have to rely quite as much on his trust fund. The most noticeable change was the difference in his style. He’d taken to wearing tees instead of his usual Polos, and he found that he didn’t mind as much as he had thought he would have. Plus, the employee discount is pretty sweet. And even if he did feel slightly bad leaving all his precious bow ties in the closet, both Cooper and countless of his dates had urged him to back off the bow ties, so. It worked out great.

Honestly, the biggest problem he had with his job was that the store had no bathroom. Which basically meant that all the employees had to trek a full five minutes to get to one of the mall’s toilets, which were ridiculously filthy and also had a rather large line to get to them. There had been many a time where they’d lost half their lunch break waiting to use the bathroom, and it was frankly annoying.

But. But. A month after the store across from them emptied, it got turned into some kind of suit shop--Blaine always spends a few seconds staring at the wonderful bow ties on display before his shift starts.

One of the first renovations they did was adding a bathroom. Blaine and his co-workers longed to be able to use it, but none were brave enough to go ask. Thankfully for them, the store the Suit Guys--as they were later named--went to to get lunch closed down, and they came and asked to use their kitchen. With Blaine’s debate skills--not that there was any real resistance--they were able to bargain the use of their microwave for the use of their bathroom.

And so, a lovely little ritual was created. Every day, the Suit Guys--Kurt and Chandler as he later found out--would come to their store on their lunch break and hear them talk about whatever’s current, and sometimes they would even ask questions--Blaine hoped his answers covered them. Similarly, when he or any of his co-workers needed a bathroom break, they’d go over and listen to Kurt and Chandler talk about how difficult it is to steam silk dress shirts properly, or something along the lines of that.

Slowly but surely, these short conversations became the best part of Blaine’s day. Every little thing he learned about Kurt made him want to learn even more. Over the course of the past couple of months, they’d built up a strong rapport, but surely Kurt would never look at him like that.

As time passed, friendships as well as rivalries were made between them all. But even though they may not all get along well, one thing everyone could agree on was this: the new jewelry store was horrible. Blaine and his co-workers hated it on principle as the owner took advantage of their boss’ kindness. And when one day he happened to comment on his disdain for them, Kurt immediately started on a rant.

“Oh my, have you seen their suits? They’re baggy as hell, and I, personally, would never trust them to sell me a $9.000 engagement ring when they can’t even get a properly fitted jacket. So unprofessional.”

Chandler joined in. “And also, I saw one of them wearing a teal shirt. Teal. Like, it’s fall, and you go with a teal shirt? They could at least get a colour that matches their store if they’re going to ignore the seasons like that. Honestly, teal is just an awful choice.”

“I mean, teal is an awful choice during any season, really, but in winter? What on earth made them think that was okay?” Kurt adds.

Blaine laughs heartily and nods his agreement. He turns to leave, and as always, takes a long glance at the shop’s bow tie collection.

“Why do you always stare at the bow tie collection before you leave?” Chandler asks inquisitively.

He could tell by the look on both their faces that, of all the answers he could have given, this one wasn’t something they were expecting to hear.

“Oh my god, Blaine! Why didn’t you tell us sooner?” Kurt exclaimed.

“You have to show us pictures! What did you look like before the tees?” Chandler said.

“Um, okay.” Blaine reluctantly obliged. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and picked one of his best photos. “This is me in a full-on suit, I was attending the NYADA showcase my friend Rachel was in.” with that he turned the screen towards his eager conversation partners and watched their reaction.

“Woah, Blaine.” was all that Chandler said.

“You look incredible, Blaine! And… I don’t suppose you’re talking about Rachel Berry, are you?”

“Uhh, yes. Do you know her?”

“Know her? I went to high school with her! I live with her now!” Kurt’s excitement suddenly faded. “Oh my god.”

“What?” Blaine asked.

“You’re the Blaine she wanted to set me up with!” Kurt’s eyes were wide as saucers.

“She never mentioned anything to me. I can’t believe she thought I was ever in your league.” Blaine froze. He had not intended to say that last sentence out loud.

“Blaine, what are you talking about? If anything, you’re out of my league.” Kurt said vehemently.

“What? That’s ridiculous.” Blaine refuted.

They spent a solid two seconds just staring at each other before Chandler sighed deeply before yelling “Oh my god, someone ask the other out before I scream.”

“Chandler, you’re already screaming.” Kurt said with a small smile. His eyes stayed on Blaine’s.

Blaine took a leap of faith. “So, uh. Coffee tomorrow night?”

Kurt’s smile widened. “Only if you wear that suit.”

when I started shipping it if I did: i don’t remember tbh. i always lowkey shipped it haha, but i don’t think i really realised it until @wassailtofivehundred was like !! yukikae !! and also i saw cute fanart and i rewatched a couple episodes (kyoto trip ehh) and i was like, fuck i really ship this. also a lot of it was b/c around december (the time i published be your own hero) i started liking kayano a lot more and then that made me salty bc nagisa/kayano was so poorly written and an injustice to her character. she deserved a person who she had actual chemistry with, and i think kanzaki is definitely that person (or one of them).

my thoughts: pure!! good!! beautiful and amazing!! i love it!! so much!! i’m working on a v v long yukikae kayano-POV fic right now and i’m excited to show it to y’all b/c i have trouble expressing how much/why i love characters/ships until i have a fic to support it, haha. but anyway i think kanzaki is really good for kayano b/c she’s so understanding and caring, and kayano is good for kanzaki because — look they just care so much abt each other okay they’re so Good.

What makes me happy about them: so good. so pure. so beautiful. they’re just healthy for each other and i love the idea of kayano’s best friend supporting her through all the shit she’s gone through because fuck, man, kayano’s mom and sister are dead, the only “friends” she had, she built her friendship on a lie, the teacher she tried to kill and then turned out not to be guilty is dead anyway (bye bye, purpose that kept her going for a year despite all her issues), the person she was for a year was a lie but — not all of it, okay, deep down kaede kayano/akari yukimura is still a good caring person and kanzaki knows it even if she did lie and the two of them supporting each other and I just — yeah

What makes me sad about them: i’m always full of salt about kayano so :/ i don’t like it when people don’t acknowledge the kayano arc happened/kayano’s real personality is very different from the one she pretended to be/she lied to the class for a year? yeah matsui just decided to forget about it and sideline her because he’s a shit writer and what the fuck is continuity, but that doesn’t mean you should follow his example. so it’d be great to see those issues acknowledged!! give me kanzaki understanding kayano did fucked-up things and is a messy person who was not the kind, cheerful, sweet girl she pretended to be and loving her anyway!! (acknowledge and justify the kayano arc for why it happened without throwing logic out the window, and i’ll personally send you a thank-you card)

things done in fanfic that annoys me: there are two fics on ao3 for yukikae, lol (i’m planning to remedy this because inexcusable!!). one is kayano third wheeling karmagisa w/ like 5 lines of actual yukikae (no offense to the author, the fic is fine, it’s just Not Yukikae). the other is green’s fic and admittedly there isn’t a lot of overtly romantic yukikae but it’s a really good fic and there’s good worldbuilding and concepts and y’all should read it

things I look for in fanfic: having it exist. that’s what i’m looking for. that being said, see above rant, because while there aren’t many fics about kanzaki (beautiful daughter pls love her more), there is plenty of fic about kayano and it is almost never accurate. it makes me sad. accurate, well-done characterization is what i Live for

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: both of them, okuda. as previously mentioned, kanzaki, maybe yada? for kaede, rio, also yada, maybe kataoka (it’s mentioned kayano admires her and i don’t think that was a lie, akari seems like the type of girl who recognises and respects strength and competence in people). um. the 3-E girls are all good in general haha, the only person i can think of off the top of my head i’d say no to is okano with kanzaki because okano dislikes her and kanzaki is uncomfortable with that, so. :/ although seeing them work past it (and okano getting past her own insecurities regarding her femininity) would be cool, so even then, i can’t say Absolutely Never. just not nagisa/kayano pls

My happily ever after for them: sometime in their mid/late-20s, they move into an apartment together and own lots of books and cute stationery and various trinkets. also a cat. maybe other pets, like a hamster or a dog. kayano is a successful actress all over again but keeps her relationship with kanzaki not secret but lowkey. kanzaki is away from her parents and likes her job and reads a lot of books. their friends come visit them pretty frequently and the neighbors think they’re adorable. they’re happy.

who is the big spoon/little spoon: omg fuck i suck at this kind of thing. i think kayano would be the big spoon and kanzaki the little spoon but i don’t think they’d mind switching

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: um theyre fond of reading and decorating things (apartment they move into together) and baking and taking walks together. probably taking walks with the dog tbh. that was like 4 i dont know sorry im still in the developing stages of headcanons for these two ive only been highkey invested in this ship for like a month and a half okay

gakushuu asano

How I feel about this character: today i started thinking about him completely out of the blue, with no prompting, and then i sat down and wrote 4 pages in my notebook about an AU where ikeda doesn’t die and gakuhou remains a good dad. last sentence is “in another world, gakushuu asano is healthy and happy and okay.” this is pretty much how i am all day every day i love this child so much he’s just. i see a lot of myself in him (hes relatable okay) and he’s so amazing and brilliant and full of curiosity and potential and i!!! love!!! him!!!! i want him to be happy so much!!! i love him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

All the people I ship romantically with this character: karma (obviously haha), um. fuck. im really fond of renshuu (like really fond) but i usually ship it as ren having a one-sided crush on gakushuu that eventually concludes in ren realising shuu’s crushing unattainability (also i hc gakushuu as ace arospec and he’s kinda ehhh abt romance in general. projecting? me? yeah) and dealing with it and they become really really good best friends even tho it makes ren’s heart hurt a lil bit but mostly its okay. fuck i had a fic abt this i started months ago that i never finished i gotta do that but yeah i envision the virtuosos’ dynamic as being very very complicated in general. oh yeah i cant believe i said i ship karma/gakushuu only once in this post so far so anyway i ship karushuu i love karushuu karushuu is love karushuu is life

My non-romantic OTP for this character: the virtuosos of course its not like i wrote like 1k+ of meta on this hahahaha also gakushuu/isogai, gakushuu/kataoka (why cant we see his respect for her acknowledged as well i know isogai gets his own ep and all but kataoka is still important and is also a class rep :/), gakushuu/nagisa a little bit (i used to be super into it and i still kinda like it), i actually really like the idea of platonic!karushuu because those two are cute boyfriends but working their way from enemies to rivals with grudging respect for each other to best friends?? it’s good

My unpopular opinion about this character: he and karma are not the same person or quite frankly anywhere close to it. there’s lots of parallels they’re good narrative foils but seeing people act like gakushuu is just a recoloured karma makes me sad. pls no my son is so complex and wonderful and different pls pls understand this he’s not just karma akabane with orange hair he’s his own character and such a good one

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: he goes to MIT and is separated from his father’s awful awful toxic influence and lives a happy brilliant successful life and is emotionally okay. i mean it’s not non-canon hahaha but seeing it onscreen would’ve been cool. we can assume that happens anyway tho b/c it’s gakushuu. uhh seeing him interact with his mom onscreen (or like, seeing his mom at all) would’ve been really cool!!! for who i imagine his mom as, i pretty much just think of @cosmicyue‘s hideko asano headcanon :)

my OTP: karushuu obviously. ohh man i love these two nerds so fucking much okay. they hate each other so so much but they also have this respect for each other alright if i start talking about why i ship karushuu (something ive actually never done on this blog bc i dont want people to think im trying to push karushuu on everyone ajdkakdkajsh; theres hardly a shortage of karushuu shippers around) then im gonna b here all day and this is already really long. ill shut up
