Black Crypt is an Amiga-exclusive role-playing video game and Raven Software's debut title (they would later make Heretic and Hexen with ID Software). The game is one of the few to use an extra half-brite mode, which doubles the number of colors on the screen and sometimes looks simply beautiful.

Like most dungeon crawlers of the era, including the genre-defining Dungeon Master and Eye of the Beholder series, Black Crypt is set in a fantasy world inspired by Dungeons and Dragons.

At the start of the game, you create your characters from scratch, although they must be a Fighter, a Priest, a Magician, and a Druid. You can name your characters, choose their profile picture, and give them a few extra skill points, but you cannot change their class.

A Sega Mega Drive version was in development but was never released.

I’ve been thinking about jerejean’s first trip to the pet store to get supplies for jab. the way jean pours over all of the options vs jeremy who’s inclined to rush to pick something he already has in mind. that is until jean starts talking and I mean he really starts talking through his thought processes on the merits and disadvantages of all options. how jean did some extra research on dog breeds to figure out jab’s particular needs. jean’s got this super focused face on whilst pointing to different brands, pulling jeremy along by the elbow. jeremy’s brain sort of muffles the noise as he’s watching jean be so passionate over a dog he claims he never wanted. yearning for a dog for years, jeremy’s got info pages memorized, but the way jean’s face lights up has only been seen before in their exy debates. until now. this beautiful soft, fond smile forms on jeremy’s face, so when jean sees it out of the corner of his eye he stops himself mid sentence and inquires. jeremy replies, fatherhood looks good on you. jean’s cheeks heat and his mouth drops open for a reply he cannot form the words to for a minute. jean’s leading he is your dog is met with jeremy’s technically, he’s a moreau so jab is ours but, yes he is. jean’s face is determined once more saying then he deserves the best, like that was all there was to it. and it was. jeremy’s cheeks are now sunkissed pink and his grin lights up his entire face as he listens to jean’s jab-centric rambles continue

hero tired and stressed and anxious. constantly comparing himself to the long quiet. wishing they were still there. worrying he wont be enough to keep them all together. having stress dreams about being alone in the long quiet (the place). the mirror, the princess. the narrator. isolating himself from the others.

having to be physically dragged away from his brooding. being all "im fine" and then passing the fuck out not even 2 minutes into flock cuddle time. not even waking up while they fight over who gets to be closest (thank god btw smitten wld never be able to live with the guilt).

adversary and stubborn inviting him to a tussle. politely declining but suggesting he just watch, since he can tell they just wanted an excuse to hang out. ending up in a tussle anyways when adversary throws stubborn into him. hero not at All keeping up with them but its ok bc the closeness, physical or otherwise, is more than enough for him.

burned and drowned grey inviting themselves in bc burned is forcing drowned to interact with the voices more and decided hero is a good place to start. hero being scrambling a bit bc he wasnt expecting visitors (and hes still a little wary around the ghosts) but trying to be a gracious host. burned being all "see how cute and nice and sweet he is" and hero getting all flustered. drowned says nothing but she Does squish his cheeks a little. burned calls it a success.

broken seeking him out for when he just wants company and comfort. hero claims his door is always open and hes never once refused anyone. but sometimes others are already there. paranoid or opportunist. sometimes contrarian. a vessel or two is not uncommon either; spectre and damsel are especially fond of him. broken always feels like hes intruding, though. cold, on the other hand, does not care. he will invite himself in any hour just for hero time. he has advised broken to do the same.

they love him. they adore him. they put him on a pedestal. they care for him and worry about him and stress him worse than anything. all pressure he puts on himself. to be perfect. to be what he thinks they want him to be. he does not know how deep and unconditional it all is. they dont want him to Be anything other than himself. bc what he Is is what they fawn over. he could be reciting the fucking yellow pages and theyd still hang off every word.

anyways this makes no sense and its all over the place and basically just a stream of consciousness but this has been in my drafts long enough and i need everyone to know that hero harem is still 🔛🔝💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥💥💥🌈🦈✨

Since this seems to be a hot topic I think a lot of the fandom is putting too much stock in Jean being soft and kind. He is soft and kind, that’s true, but he is also still a bitch who can and will get violent. And now is violence always the answer? No. But he is violent. And it’s pretty clear he’s going to learn that he does not always have to react with violence but I also don’t think all his non soft behavior comes from the nest. People can be more than one thing and it really stresses me out that everyone shoves him in one category or the other.

so wait. if jean spent a lot of time looking at photos of jeremy while in the nest, but was then suprised to see that jeremy was ”scrawnier than he’d expected”, does that mean that jean was just like looking at his big brown eyes and dimples? and not his body

(because imagine jeremy finding out about it. knowing there are so many men who just sees him for his body but there was jean all along who was looking into his eyes)
