Pasteurization is simply a process where milk is heated to a high temperature for a length of time to kill the majority of bacteria.
It massively reduces the risk of listeriosis (a type of bacterial infection) and increases shelf life. There are literally no downsides. It's a simple safety measure that's existed for over a century now.
And please please don't feed it to infants and young children, they can and do die from listeriosis. Also don't have raw milk products if you're pregnant as it can cause miscarriage for the same reason. Same goes for anyone with weakened immunity.
I just purchased a share of a cow so I can buy raw milk in my state and now I am an owner of a New Jersey A2 grass fed cow on an Amish farm. I’m so excited to try it
In the age of social media, TikTok has become a popular platform for sharing all sorts of content, including dietary trends. Lately, there has been a surge of videos promoting the consumption of raw milk, raising questions about its safety and potential health benefits. Let’s dive into this controversial topic and separate fact from fiction.
Raw milk, as the name suggests, is milk that has not…
Can someone please explain why fundies are in love with raw milk? It is illegal where I live, like you can be thrown in jail and fined if you sell or buy it.
I know the Bairds and Anneliese have posted about it.
Raw milk day! After we picked up our milk (it’s an hour drive to our friend’s farm), Bair was hungry and I didn’t want him to have to wait the half hour plus until we got to our usual cafe lunch spot. So I decided to take us to a little restaurant that I used to work at when I was in college. I got a peppermint stick milkshake, which I always used to make myself on my shifts, and shared it with Bair. He got a grilled cheese and I got a hot Turkey sandwich. He also took an actual bite out of a crayon that I had to wrestle out of his mouth. My husband is now worried we have another Marine on our hands 😂
When we got home, Dave and I got some lovely alone time and Bair went to bed. He has all week off coming up and my break doesn’t start until Wednesday, so he’s going to get a lot done around the house in preparation for our first Christmas hosting experience! I am really excited to finally get to host Christmas at my house, for my mom, with my child, it’s all just so perfect. I hope it goes smoothly.
