I often get emotional when I'm editing wedding images. I often forget myself and relive the whole day again. This moment when the bride and father walk down the isle was particularly memorable as there was a gush of air that filled the room after the door was opened to let the bride and father in. As the wind touched my face the faint smell of perfume greeted my nose like I was smelling a pink rose in full bloom. I also remember the brides baby lying in its push chair smiling at me! I love intimate weddings. Shot with my 35mm lens at f2 to keep my depth of field shallow and focused on the two subjects. I took this image at Rossett Hall Hotel. I used my 35mm lens here because I wanted a view that my eye would see. Compositionally, I placed the dress a third of the way from the right and top of the image. I liked the way the wooden runner leads the eye to the dress: the subject. The room was quite dark so instead of capturing it that way I decided to overexpose the image by a stop of light. I set my aperture to f2.8 and focused on the dress. I set my ISO to 1000 because my shutter speed needed that.
