Say whatever you have against Veronica, but you can't deny that she's such a great writer. There is a reason why despite everything, people had been waiting for Aslan and Lale's (inevitable) death. There's a reason why once upon a time, DLS dethroned HS. Veronica's writing is beautiful. I even read the story in its original language (I'm still learning) and felt my heart and soul getting stabbed all over again.

Oh my Aslan. My Sun. You were there from the very beginning and you died for your Swallow.

I will never forgive you, Mehmed. If I have the chance to kill you, I will do it willingly! I knew that you were a sham from the very beginning, that your "character development" was just a mask. I was just silently waiting for everyone to understand. Rapist. Murderer. Nothing about Mehmed is redeemable. Like, how could anyone hope for the better when he tried to rape Lale?

I will avenge the Sun and his Swallow.

I'm telling you Hasan is an azure himself too!!

So, I actually did some rereading DLS and about azure and it's been said that Azures are the beautiful, kind souls who sometimes face unnatural death and can reincarnate again and again if they are wronged or couldn't accomplish the things they were destined for. Also lale and Hasan's soul meet each other a lot even after Hasan's death like some kind of connection is definitely between them.

Hasan died by lighting an unnatural death, he himself was referred by Murad and others as a shining crown prince. The bright bird appearing and then Hasan's image appearing is also something worth noticing! He came to save Lale!! Only she can see, touch him and feel him !! Since, Hasan never got to be a Sultan and his life was cut short, he came back as Mr. Ezel and Mehmed was his uncle 💀✨ He also said in this update on how Mephis' presence lingers on him and he's trying his best to control him and HASAN gives him access and power really felt something. He said he is fighting him.

Unironically, Mr. Mephis got his hand on another azure without knowing of all this and it seems when Lale died Hasan's soul also got destined to reincarnated in same time as hers. Mephis escaped the dark world ran to Mehmed and when he felt a presence in Ezel He took over his body. Most of our romantic interaction with Ezel was of Hasan, not Mephis. Ezel was unknowingly fighting Mephis but since, his soullight was in it's dormant state he couldn't get over Mephis' influence and when he came to knew it was too late :'(

I'm replaying DALS to get Vlad's achievement, and woah. I had forgotten how interesting the timeline in the past is in comparison to the present. Not just in terms of plot, the characters themselves are so much better!

You can't convince me that Vlad + Leo from the past aren't a THOUSAND times superior to the present ones. Especially present Vlad - he's so bloody annoying, lmao

About choosing to say “no” as Lale.

I’ve seen a few people worried that saying “no” to the deal with the Special Ambassador might mean missing a Soul Light later. I just wanted to discuss this ‘cause I feel like, if we look back to the Soul Light we get via fighting Karnivan, it seems to me it establishes something very important about the MC’s Soul Light: it’s not just kindness. The Lady with two faces we met before being ambushed by Karnivan gives us a hint about this, although I can’t remember the exact words. She tells us that true compassion isn’t just giving endlessly, but having the inner strength to stop darkness. So, I don’t think we need to agree to the deal to get a Soul Light - I think we need to reject it to do so. Banishing the darkness is the nature, or purpose, of light. We cannot encourage darkness and still shine.

I've always loved the Azures and Soul Light lore in DLS. Being pure-hearted is almost always depicted as being naive or weak or foolish in some way, but the kindest people are often the strongest, in my experience. I like how these 'highest beings of light' are entities which are equal in strength as they are in altruism. To weep isn't weakness. To give of yourself isn't naivety. To be good isn't a foolish decision. To be light, you have to be powerful enough to outshine the darkness. I think as long as we remember what Azures are meant to be, we can figure out the right choices to unlock Soul Light as the story goes on. Good luck! 😊
