My main points being as follows: Workwear: Thick fabrics/leather, buckles, buttons, you can feel the body through it Next step: Armour Armour: Metal, leather, soft skin underneath, contrast in texture and temperature makes it more erotic (sensory deprivation too if you're into that cause metal or what have you stops you from feeling someone's body/touch completely Next step: Robots Robots: Cold metal against soft warm skin, softer bits in between metal chunks/plates, weighty bodies, warm electronics, hard metal underneath soft fabrics

If I keep getting a notif list of likes 200 miles long every day because people can’t figure out how the fucking reblog button works I am going to lose my mind. i've been chewing on a thought for a few weeks or so

about the potential correlation between the rising purity culture on tumblr - and how aggressively users treat each other - with the change in how the userbase interacts with posts, liking more than reblogging them

i know personally there have been many posts i have wanted to reblog but only liked instead because 1) with tumblr being nearly unmatched in bad faith taking, literally any even remotely controversial post is a potential can of worms if worms told you to kill yourself and 2) with tags being automatically visible now, likes are the only private thing left. with tumblr's increasingly unhinged definition of controversial, it is entirely possible to call down a host of frenzied naysayers who bombard you with accusations of ableism and unchecked privilege because you reblogged a post about how nice it is to go outside sometimes. i'm sorry, that was a slight misrepresentation; the post i'm referencing was actually about taking a shower

and sure, transients from other social media platforms who don't know how tumblr works are part of it, but this problem started well before elon got his grubby little hands on twitter. maybe it was the porn ban; maybe not seeing black and white gifs of cock gargling in slow motion, nestled between stim boards for steven universe characters like explicit little landmines, paved the way for the secular evangelical pearl-clutching crowd we have now. maybe it was when they started broadcasting tags and now you can't mutter to yourself privately about a post in the background because there is no private, no background anymore, you can't just engage with something for yourself. everything you interact with - except likes - is visible. and, to be perfectly frank, i don't trust tumblr's userbase enough for that

by tumblr's own admission, the only way to have a positive experience on tumblr is to interact with as little of it as possible

is it no fucking wonder that engagement is down
