Imagine Leona after his overblot, never taking off his gloves even when he plays magift/spell-drive life he used to, yet still seeing everyone flinch from his hands. Imagine him being thrust back to when he was young, where the whispers of the staff curled around him like he wishes his mother’s arms would have, feeling like a monster for something he doesn’t understand, didn’t ask for, didn’t want to have. Imagine him, who already saw his hands as a symbol of destruction and evil and cruelty, being shown yet again that people will only ever fear his touch.

Except, imagine that the Prefect is there. Imagine the prefect is hearing these whispers, sees the flinches, and is angry. The Prefect was there- magicless and terrified- in the middle of a sandstorm, fighting to survive and fighting to make sure her friends survive, who felt what King’s Roar does when it touches your skin, who has a matching scar with Ruggie from the battle against Leona’s blot. How can these nobodies, who have never known the sting of sand down to the molecular level act like this? How dare they, who had only seen Leona’s grumpy tsundere type of care and not the scars from the fight, now act like they understand the dangers of King’s Roar?

Imagine the Prefect, caught in this righteous anger, storming up to Leona.

Imagine Leona bracing himself for another emotional wound, knowing that from anyone- he deserves the scorn and hatred and fear that you may spew at him. He knows it will crush him in a way that no others could replicate, save maybe for the tiny cub that he pretends to not love.

Imagine the prefect stopping in front of him and grabbing his hand, taking off the gloves and placing the bare hand on their throat.

Imagine the whole school stopping.

Imagine Leona, for the first time since his unique magic showed up, feeling someone trust him and his hands completely, without any covering or barrier or safety net. For the first time since King’s Roar ruined his life, he felt the warmth of another person on his bare hand.

Imagine Leona being able to tell his younger self that someday, he will find the most stubborn, annoying, foolhearty, beautiful, selfless, kind, amazing herbivore who will give him their lives to hold in his bare hands without flinching.

I've seen the trope of character A puts the hand of character B around their throat as a show of trust in a fanfic in two other fandoms I've been in and that is literally my kryptonite because it literally put's the whole "I trust you with my life" thing in a whole new context

(I've also had this WIP/blurb of Fem!Yuu/Reader doing something similar with Rook by having him shoot an arrow at an apple on her head from a distance (probably whilst blindfolded as well) and when he releases the super sharp, pointed metal arrow, she just stares right in front of her, completely straight-faced and unblinking, without even a hint of fear - kind of like this scene from The Addams Family Musical mixed with that scene in Divergent where Four throws knives at Tris)

But you know what's great about this trope being pulled of with Leona? Since he's a lion beastman - an apex predator built for hunting prey - he has enhanced hearing which means that he can hear Yuu's heartbeat and can literally have solid proof that Yuu isn't scared since their heartrate hasn't increased a bit.

And also, he loves his herbivore so much. Who needs a kingdom or a throne when he has the world?

Way to reblog that shit totally misrepresenting the “man vs bear” argument.

If you think I'm wrong and you want me to reconsider my stance, you need to present some sort of argument instead of being passive aggressive. Explain why you think it was misrepresented and offer an alternative viewpoint.

If you don't care if I change my mind and just want me to feel bad for having an opinion you don't like, that can't be accomplished by internet randos yelling at me. Look at my blog. You think this is the blog of a person who cares if they get yelled at by internet strangers? But you might want to reconsider how you spend your time if you think lashing out at strangers for fairly minor disagreements is a good use of it.

Anyway I do think I could do better at being more nuanced. Women obviously face harassment and assault from men, including in the woods. I meet men in the woods every time I go hiking and I'm not going to pretend I've never had the fleeting thought of what I'd do if one attacked me. But that's the thing - I meet men in the woods every time I go hiking. It's really weird to have it presented as some sort of hypothetical thought experiment instead of the mundane reality of a very popular hobby.

The biggest problem I'm having is the number of people using it as an excuse to play the "I am in perpetual danger from every man I meet and I have to perform a series of performative safety rituals to ward off serial killers and That's What Being A Woman Is About" game. I've had, over the past couple years, a few people tell me that if I'm not perpetually afraid of every man I see then I must not actually be a woman, or I must be lying, or I'm some naive young waif who doesn't understand the Evils Of The World yet. It's really fucking annoying! Womanhood is not defined by fear and paranoia!

The other problem that I can't believe I'm having is the number of people arguing that bears are basically just big cuddly uwu babies who are more scared of you than you are of them!!! and you just have to shoo them off the path like waving a bird away from a berry patch!!!

Bears are dangerous as hell - even black bears - and you should NEVER assume they're safe or friendly. And sure, maybe 99% of black bears are fairly non-confrontational and don't want to fight you - but the same is true of men! But unlike men you can't outrun, outfight, or outclimb a bear. You're pretty much just fucked if one does decide you look tasty. So again - it just feels very performative to me to make a big deal about how dangerous men are while downplaying the danger of a literal apex predator.

Hi again, Tumblr! I have a few blogs already (@goldenguy is my main), but I wanted to make this additional one to post and reblog miscellaneous stuff I want to share that isn't necessarily Fortnite related. I might post poetry, lyrics, rambles, and maybe even the odd (rare) vent-y-ish stuff. I don't know. Whatever springs to mind that I don't want to put on my main blog for some reason. "Aye, I do! Have. Not so much anymore. Why, Shun? Are you shocked that your childhood friend partakes in truly such what was it? Adult habits?" Mana grinned, his wine-colored eyes squinting in that manner that Hien had always found most charming.

Blinking incredulously for a moment, Hien shortly reciprocated the laugh, squeezing Mana's shoulder to their shared satisfaction. "A bit, aye!"

Mana eyed the kiseru still in Hien's hand before gesturing. "Well, you'll find quite the lack of such elicit substances as of right now, but you're free to partake in my VERY EXPENSIVE tobacco, provided you repay me in kind."

Another one of those grins was directed at the Raen before Hien turned his gaze to the pipe once again. "Oh, I'm sure I'll be able to think of something," he mused before bringing the kiseru to his lips.

Mana watched him from the moment Hien's lips closed around the bit to the moment the resulting exhaled smoke began to dissipate into the cool evening air. His gaze was soft, brimming with fondness and wistful thoughts of what the time lost between them could have held.

And Hien's own gaze was upon him then, everything dissipating from Mana's mind just as the smoke had done prior.

"Satisfactory, my Lord?" the Raen hummed teasingly.

"Aye, though I'm sure the experience would have been more complete provided you had indeed been partaking in such substances in my courtyard," Hien returned the tease in the same beat.

"And what do you mean by 'complete experience', pray tell?" the banter went on as Mana placed a hand on Hien's knee.

Hien regarded the Raen for a moment before grinning. "Well I AM in the presence of such a beautiful and illustrious dancer. Tis only fair that the Lord of Doma get to experience the fullest extent of your company, don't you think?"

"Well," Mana began with a sigh, shifting himself before, to Hien's delight, the smaller man sat straddled onto his lap, "Mayhap when we find ourselves in a more accomidating environment, I'll indulge you, my Lord."

A more subdued grin adorned Hien's face now, and despite the suggestive banter, his gaze softened. "I should enjoy that very much, Mana. We've quite a bit to catch up on, after all."

As Mana brought a hand up to brush the side of Hien's face, he felt the prior affection apex into something more satisfying than any amount of opium he had partaken in during their time apart. A soft smile was all he could give to express his fulfilled longing, but it was clearly enough for Hien. "That we do, Shun. That we do."

Hi! I'm not entirely active in the fandom rn (or any, for that matter), but I still reblog Kylux when it comes across my dash!

My fics:

Bloodlines and Brandy- Finished, 147,896 words. Southern Gothic AU wherein Kylo is a monster/family curse, and Hux is a funeral director that falls in love with him.

Loyalty- finished, 121,242 words. Canon divergent, Hux is trans- and is a void in the Force. (The sequel is on indefinite hiatus; I don't have the muse for it.)

Apex Predators- unfinished, 98,534 words, on hiatus (but will be picked up again once I untangle a knot in my outline.) Hux is half human/half near human- wherein the near human is native Arkanan... and native Arkanans are shapeshifting man eaters. (It's a mix of Kylux and Cardinal/Hux... it may end up being a polycule, idk.)

Aberrant Biology- unfinished, 3.8k words. (on hiatus, but it's almost completely outlined!) Monstrumologist AU where Hux is a monstrumologist, and Kylo is a hellhound seeking safety from a corrupt monstrumologist in the ranks of the Society of Aberrant Biologists.
