Back when WarnerMedia (which technically no longer exists in the same form) announced that it would be premiering its entire slate of 2021 films on HBO Max, this is the kind of month they likely had in mind. For HBO Max’s list of new releases in August 2021 is highlighted by an honest-to-goodness blockbuster.

The Suicide Squad is set to premiere Aug. 5 on HBO Max. This film featuring some of DC Comics’ most curious villains borrows its name, format, and many of its characters from the David Ayers-directed 2016 film Suicide Squad. This time around, the rogues gallery is directing by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) and his colorful disposition. In addition to The Suicide Squad, August sees the arrival of the Hugh Jackman-starring Reminiscence on Aug. 20.

It’s a good month for movies overall on HBO Max. Many intriguing library titles arrive on Aug. 1, including Collateral, The Fugitive (1993), The Shawshank Redemption, and Spawn. The Jurassic Park trilogy (Aug. 14), and Godzilla v. Kong (Aug. 17) make their return to the Warner streaming service a little later on.

HBO Max’s original TV offerings can’t compete with The Suicide Squad in August 2021, but there is still plenty to enjoy. The third season of erstwhile DC Universe series Titans premieres on Aug. 12. That will be followed by the second season of former Comedy Central delight The Other Two.

Tsuna es empujado al fondo del traje robótico, y a pesar del miedo por la obligación bajo intimidación, sabía que pronto se terminaría, siempre terminaba luego de pasar por cosas feas, sabía el proceso. (Esta vez no fue así)

Pero... cuando las manos grandes de los otros niños colocaron las piezas por completo algo no estaba bien.

En su cabeza comenzaron a sonar alarmas fuertes y escalofriantes advirtiendo de algo muy malo, y esas mismas campanas se detuvieron y lloraron de alguna forma en su cabeza.

No terminó nada bien.

Veinte minutos después los abusadores estaban corriendo por la noche hacia sus propias casas en busca de refugio, ellos no estaban allí, ellos no estuvieron allí.

¡Ellos no mataron a Dame - Tsuna!

El traje estaba en el depósito por una razón, demasiado usado, demasiado viejo, demasiado antiguo.

Los cables, engranajes y fierros fuera de su antiguo lugar buscaron hacerse un hogar y pertenecer al cuerpo de un niño que apenas acariciaba la adolescencia.

Hibari lo lleva a su casa, allí lo mantendrá seguro, van a averiguar qué sucedió y qué pueden hacer por su animalito con poca memoria.

Parecía aferrarse desesperadamente a él, su recuerdo más fresco. (No le molestaba específicamente)

Todo iba tan bien como se podría decir, excepto que no comía a pesar de poder respirar (Y quería) y parecía no querer perderlo de vista.

El problema vino en la noche. (La primera noche)

Siempre fue de sueño ligero, así que el más mínimo cambio en su territorio podría despertarlo, imagínate pasos pesados y golpes en puertas bastante delgadas.

Se salió del futón, acortó la distancia y abrió la puerta en un parpadeo, sus ojos se aguaron como se secaron en un instante, un Tsunayoshi petrificado y terroríficamente despellejado dentro del traje robótico lo enfrentaba justo fuera de su puerta corredisa, a través de la mandíbula.

Pero no cuentan con los adolescentes, los subestiman por ser aún "niños".

Lástima que estos niños están liderados por la mano derecha del jefe, quien es la segunda y otra única persona (Aparte de Hibari) en saber de la existencia de cierto niño inútil.

Los ataques grandes de la Yakuza, la Mafia, y demás terroristas eficientes suelen suceder de noche, con algunas pequeñas excepciones.

El mecanismo de defensa en la casa Hibari es apagar las luces.

Reborn llega a la casa Sawada por la tarde, una mujer, que debía ser sin duda la mujer del tonto bakamitsu, abrío la puerta y sonrió amablemente, una de sus manos en su mejilla.

- ¿Te has perdido querido? - Él sonrió igualmente.

- Soy un tutor de casa que puede convertir a tu hijo en el líder de la siguiente generación. - Ella pareció emocionada y no preguntó nada, hizo un gesto y lo invitó a pasar.

- Tendrás que disculpar, pero Tsu-kun está en la casa de un amigo por un tiempo estudiando duro por los exámenes. - Reborn tembló un dedo, aún no era época de exámenes. - A Tsu-kun le cuesta un poco la escuela y últimamente se hizo un amigo, así que estudian juntos ahora, aunque no me parece malo que también tuviera un tutor. - Planto su mirada en ella y aún así no vio rastros de mentira en sus gestos, eso le levanto una bandera, el estúpido jefe del Cedef apenas le había dado una hoja con los nombres y un par de palabras tratando de describir a cada uno. Se suponía que el niño no tenía amigos. - Aún no sé cuándo volverá, Tsu-kun.

- Está bien, puedo esperarlo. - Peino una de sus patillas pensando, la mujer aplaudió y sonrió más hasta casi partir su rostro.

- Puedes quedarte en la habitación de Tsu-kun, ¡iré a hacer el almuerzo!

La perdió de vista en el pasillo que llevaba a lo que parecía el comedor, mientras él pensaba.

Panchito

I’ve been thinking about how another nickname for Frankie would be Pancho and was wondering if anyone ever called him that? And we don’t really know anything about his character, so obviously i took it to the chat and my lovelies @murdermewithbooks and @pablopascal agreed that yes! Most definitely he’s been called Panchito before so from now on I will only refer to Frankie as Panchito. Thank you very much. And this was just an excuse to call him Panchito in something 😊💜

The soft content sigh that slipped past Frankie's lips made you smile as you continued to run your fingers through his hair. He had come home and simply collapsed onto your lap, wrapping his arms around your waist in the process. It took a minute for you to adjust him so he wasn't uncomfortable and could still see the television playing. Neither one of you was really paying attention though, lost in your own thoughts of each other, allowing yourself to just be in the moment. 

He was almost asleep when the realization occured to you, caught in between his name bouncing through your heart and head. 

You gasped, halting your movements and sitting up straight. He pulled away instantly, his fists curling as he looked around for danger before his eyes focused on you. 

"Whats wrong? Are you hurt?"

"Pancho," you gasped out, your voice barely above a whisper. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion at the word. 

"What?"

"Pancho. You're a Pancho. Francisco es Pancho, eres un Pancho," You ramble, your eyes shining with joy. He felt his heart start to slow back down at the growing grin on your face. "How did I miss that?"

"Hold on," he tried to interrupt you as you got up and moved away from him. "Wait, mi amor, hold on."

"I love this!" You giggled. "Frankie sounded too basic, you know? But Pancho? Pancho's got character!"

He was starting to chuckle as well, his heart swelling as your laughter bubbled into your words barely making them coherent. 

"Your life is a lie, Pancho. How does it feel knowing that you've got to hide behind Frankie?" He got up and moved towards you with his arms outstretched but you merely kept moving out of the way. 

"I bet you used to get Pancho when you were in trouble didn't you?" You continued to laugh. "Is that why you don't use it?"

"Come here," he insisted, stepping closer to the coffee table you were standing behind. You shook your head and ran to the other side of the room, barely missing his arms reaching for you. 

"Oh no, is Pancho upset?" You tried pouting. You were both laughing now, the name bringing an absurd amount of happiness to you. "Ay, pobrecito Pancho."

"Only mamá calls me that," he admitted between laughter. You continued to say the name, announcing it to the world like he'd been reborn. He slowly moved towards the couch you were leaning on. 

"Pancho 'Catfish' Morales. Gods how do you say catfish in Spanish?"  You'd been so lost in your laughter that you didn't notice how close he'd gotten until he grabbed your waist and pulled you over the couch on top of him. You squealed as the world shifted and disappeared beneath your feet and you landed with a huff on his chest. 

"Bagre," he chuckled, wrapping his arms and legs around you so you couldn't run away again. "Okay, fine, I'm Pancho but no one calls me that except mamá."

He held you as you both tried to catch your breaths. You could feel his heart thumping under you. The chaos of earlier slowly diminishing as you both slowed down into that sweet peace once more. 

"Paco?" You asked after a moment of silence, trying for something else.

"No!" He breathed out, the name pulling a grimace onto his face. You giggled once more, the sound breathless from how much laughing you'd done. "Okay, okay, Panchito?"

'Panchito,' he agreed with a nod of his head, smiling at how the name erupted happier memories. 

"Mi Panchito," you announced. You didn't catch the roll of his eyes but you did feel the soft breath of laughter in his chest. He pressed his lips to your forehead in a gentle promise. 

"Solo tu panchito."

As usual during hiatus, I fill my need for Flash episodes by watching the French dub of the previous season, and talking about it.

If you want all the details, you can find the link to all my previous posts in the sidebar, but to recap quickly, you can expect funny mistranslations, translations that completely contradict the original version, me bitching about how the voice for X character is wrong (especially the speesters' voices, oh god), and the translator shipping everyone with everyone.

There shouldn't be any particular difficulties for this season, unlike for the current one, where I don't know how they're going to handle Sherloque… I just hope the voice actor who dubs Devoe can do a smarmy voice.

But anyway, let's dive in!

The title of Episode 1, The Flash Reborn, was translated as "Cours, Barry, cours" (Run, Barry, run).

When Cisco describes what the samurai did with his sword in the first episode, when he created a shock wave that blew them backwards, instead of saying "blew us away like rag dolls, performing his reverse Excalibur", he says "se la jouer Autant En Emporte le Vent en perforant le bitume avec Excalibur", meaning "he went all Gone with the Wind while piercing the asphalt with Excalibur".

When Barry just got out of the Speed Force and rambles on, repeating old bit of dialogue, and future ones, the sentence "You said the city was safe, that there was no residual damage", which is form the very first episode, is not translated properly. Since Barry was talking to Wellsobard at the time, he used the formal "you", but here he uses "tu" instead, the informal you. That's just bad continuity.

Gypsy describing Cisco as "cute" got an unusual translation. Instead of going with "mignon", which would be the standard translation, the translator chose "croquignolet". Besides being a fun word to pronounce, it adds a layer to the "cute" meaning, because it also implies that the thing is funny/whimsical. It works for Cisco!

The line "A cat burglar litterally burgled her cat" about Becky had to be changed, because it wouldn't work in French, so instead it's "Un coupe-jarret lui a littéralement coupé le jarret", meaning "someone who slashes the back of the knee of people (an expression meaning thief) litterally slashed the back of her knee". Ouch.

The translator who ships all the ships is back... and they changed a "Thank you" from Barry to Cisco in a "Je t'adore", meaning "I love you", not necessarily in a romantic way, but it can be.

When Cisco is showing Star Labs to Gypsy's father, and is kind of stuck with him, his "I've had to pee for three hours" was changed "I've been wanting to die for three hours".

Harry calling Cisco "buttercup" during Barry's bachelor party becomes "mon lapin" (my bunny). It's still a term of endearment, but it feels less tongue-in-cheek in French.
