VVQB'S Default Skintone 2025

Okay so these are just these skins I did a good three years ago with the following changes:

Stripped it down to the essentials - S1-4, a pale swatch, and a darker swatch

Retained S0, S1, and S5 skintone colors

Replaced S2 with the S2.5 tone from @serabiet's original skins and made the face changes the same as the edits I did of io's skins

Made S3 and S4 a little lighter than my old default, but still darker than standard Maxis. The previous s3 made blonde eyebrows disappear too much

Changed the alien skintone from green to mint [including the blue gums and tongue]

Added teeth from @microscotch's woohoo on the beach redux

added the tongue texture from @sixfootsims's moonfruit skinblend

Eye texture is also from io

The file contains

S1-S4 defaults

a pale skintone loosely based on trapping’s pale dust swatch, uses the same file as the 2021 version of this skin

a darker skintone based on the Castaway Stories dark skintone (uses the same package as @jawusa's edit)

an alien default, and a mannequin default.

BRITECHESTER ( UNIVERSITY ) REDUX ( & update )

Here we are ( again ) :D After 2 busy weeks of servers, files transfer and reorganization ( and so on ) as we said in a previous post, some of the expansions x11 update were not done since they need a deeper inside look ;) Britechester is one of them :)

We made a lot of work on everything, especially the urban package which has 342 files ... And we named it Britechester 2.0 because, well, why not since this is the second makeover of Britechester

The whole stuff has been tested by our famous testers @cupisims and @kunisprings ... and played 4 days long by the k-hippie team.

( for info, yes ... we got our diploma ) ;)

Next ( and LAST ) in queue : Del Sol Valley ( get famous ) and Glimmerbrook ( realm of magic ) and I think we'll be all good with the k-505 mods :D

We really hope you'll like this redux ! As we received some messages related to the last versions of our mods, here a picture of my own current k-505 folder :D in theory, it is accurate :)

🍹 WOOHOO ON THE BEACH REDUX + WATERDROP EYES 🍹- A COMPLETE SET OF GENETICS

SO i made these humble edits of ios skin twoish years ago and figured i should give them a bit of a face lift by giving it the same treatment wisteria got: supernaturals to go with it, an edited lip texture, an eye set to go with it(2) and the tongue actually shows up now like intended!

og description: its basically those darn skins by io with some collarbones i snatched from obscurus-sims, lilith’s buttercup nosemask, sms sugar cravings eyes, jammed some mouseyblue waterline recolor by digi on there because the less tab 4 time the better, these goppolsme lips and the teeth are taken from sixfootsims’ moonfruit skin. is that it? i think so. groundbreaking, i just shouldve called it an edit but i could not not use the opportunity for this ridiculous name. 🌝

i kept the shade range down to the essentials this time around, adding an extra light and extra dark shade to the defaults. 1 & 4 are io’s original colors, the rest is a variety of different trapping actions stacked onto one another.

NOTE: the zombie and vampire default come with an overlay mod! and the werewolf skins are correlated! please check out the hyperlinked instructions given by the respective creator ‼ also, these use the same packages as the original release of the skin, make sure to remove them first!

You get the veves for Damballah/Zombi (snakes), Baron Samedi (coffins), Papa Legba (pineapples), and Marie Laveau (heart); but I added 1 extra veve for Ogun (diamonds).

YOU KNOW LIKE NYAH :3?

This mod adds CAS-based animated tails to sims! Well... sort of? You'll have to download and add the tails to sims separately, this mod just adds the infrastructure for it! Since its initial release, the mod has been almost completely reworked to appear smoother, have less points for conflict, and have more potential to be expanded in the future!

Huge huge huge thank you to Lumpinou for helping out with the script portion!

Unfortunately, because it hijacks the tailoverlay system used for cats and dogs and adds it to humans, this mod now requires the Cats & Dogs Expansion. Sorry! It's so much less jank this way so it was worth it, prommy.

If you use a particular adult mod with the initials of 'WW', you MUST download [sdm] ANIMATED TAIL MOD FOR WW.zip. If you do NOT use this mod, download [sdm] ANIMATED TAIL MOD.zip. ONLY DOWNLOAD ONE VERSION!

Place the .package file and .ts4script file that are inside the .zip directly in your mods folder, do not put them in subfolders! This is to ensure that the rig override loads before other rig overrides.

If you want a basic selection of tails, you can download [sdm] all-age tails for tailmod.zip. These, along with other actual tails, are no different than normal CC and may be placed wherever you wish. For younger sims and werewolves, you must also have the CASunlocks mod, as they use the lower back tattoo slot!

If you want materials to assist in creation of your own animated tails, you can download [sdm] animated tail mod DIY stuff.zip! If you are not intending to create CC that uses tailmod's rig, you don't need this. Pre-redux tails will still be compatible!

CONFLICTS AND KNOWN ISSUES 

Tails will appear T-posed in CAS now - this is expected! This is to allow compatibility with stand still in CAS mods, until I have the time to create tailmod-specific versions.

If a werewolf sim shifts into a wolf form that has a tail attached and does NOT change emotion, their tail will look like it got run over by a car. It will fix itself when the sim changes emotion, or if resetsim cheat is used.

This mod WILL conflict with any mod that modifies the rigs of sims. In the case of a certain adult-rated mod, there is a version provided that is compatible with it.

Tails will clip with furniture, the floor, etc depending on pose. Suspend your disbelief for this one.

Basic Reduxe Kitchen

CC Set of 14 BGC Items

A combination of my Back to Basics and Basic Luxe kitchens, because I really liked my mesh for the Luxe ones, but I will always love butcher-block tops more than any other kitchen surface. It's a pretty standard kitchen and I think the file names are self-explanatory, so here are some bullet-points-of-interest:

Like my Basic Luxe kitchen, the counter's end pieces have been changed to an alternate full-tile model and a half-tile model for more customization.

The cabinet also contains half-tile end pieces

This color palette draws a few swatches from the Basic Luxe palette, but I changed the hardware color slightly, and grabbed a bunch of colors from sforz's various palettes

The dining set packages come in two standalone versions: one set that matches the rest of the kitchen's swatches, and another set of 18 solid wood tones (bottom two rows of palette image)

Disclaimer: I re-mapped the UVs for the island tops and some counter tops, so the dirt overlays may be funky-looking. Since you're supposed to clean them when they're dirty anyway I decided it wasn't worth the effort to figure out a seamless texture for them (if you saw the uv map you would understand)

There isn't really much to say about this one! I thought it was going to be an easy project (when will I learn?) but I found some mistakes in the original meshes (nothing big but I'm a perfectionist) and fixed them along the way, which took extra time. And then I spent forever trying to decide on colors, and then trying to trim down the count (I cut 2 whole wood tones which helped decrease the number by about 30%).

I also decided to do custom thumbnails for these, because I liked the way they came out in my Basic Luxe set. I spent about three days manually generating, exporting, editing, and importing thumbnails (and even set up an auto-clicker program to help me!)... only to find out that S4S added a "catalogue thumbnail underlay" option in one of their updates. I'm still mentally recovering from that (read patch notes!!) 😔

Anyway, at least I got to play with ReShade a bunch! I've been mostly using it for screenshots in ESO, which is an online game that I can't pause, so being able to take my time and play with shaders and get juuuuust the right look was a real treat!

I use Peacemaker's No Occluder mod to prevent weird shadows from appliances/cabinets.

𖡡 you've downloaded the game, played around a little bit, and now you're looking to add mods and custom content (cc) into your game

this game is basically nothing without mod and cc creators, so all credit and love to them ♡

step 01: setting up your mods folder

open file explorer, go to documents, and find the folder labeled electronic arts. then click on the sims 4.

you'll see a folder labeled mods - pin it to quick access [this will make accessing it easier]

step 02: downloading mods and cc

you can find cc and mods so many ways!! tumblr, youtube, pinterest, instagram, etc. there are a lot of blogs on tumblr specifically for cc finds too

make sure you're downloading things from a reliable source. for example - a creator's patreon/tumblr or website, simfileshare.net [often linked as sfs], google docs, curseforge, itch.io, and *unanimously hated* thesimsresource.com → the sims resource is hated because of all of the fucking ads lmaooo

you'll be downloading package files and zip files. you'll find them in your downloads in file explorer

step 03: installing mods and cc

navigate to downloads in file explorer

package files can be simply dragged into the mods folder

zip files need to be extracted, then you can drag and drop the unzipped folder into your mods folder → whatever you put into your mods folder can only be one extra folder deep or it won't show up in your game

when it comes to mods [not cc], creators will often have instructions for you. follow those exactly

step 04: mods + game updates

sometimes mods break when there's a game update. it's just a very annoying part of the game at this point lol

some mods will have a pop-up in the game letting you know it needs to be updated. but if it doesn't and you notice something is fucked up, you can google 'broken mods' and usually someone else will be having the same problem and can let you know to update it

if a mod is broken, remove it from your mods folder and go download the new version from the creator → a lot of mod creators update very quickly [like the same day or within a couple days] but sometimes they don't. just be patient and check for updates periodically

recommended: the sims 4 mod manager // dl here → the mod manager will allow you to see and deactivate or remove mods and cc from your game [it's automatically connected to your mods folder and can be helpful when you can't find broken mods or cc]

Story prompt: rapid preg, except the growth doesn’t stop while she’s giving birth. She enjoys it at first, intentionally prolonging the birth to let the baby grow, before finally letting the baby out just before it gets too big. I’ll let you decide whether or not she’s still enjoying it at that point ;)

Well now, this is similar to that IYP prompt that I also happen to post, so I guess a redux is in order. The Birth Drugs

I'm a single mother who had just got myself inseminated with a baby so I can try out this new rapid pregnancy drug that has been released recently. "The pills' recommendation was to eat 1 pill... hmmm... 100% safe... Consuming more would be risky as there'd be adverse side effect..." I said, reading the packaging at home. I consumed 1 of the pill and let the pill react within my body.

After an hour, I don't feel anything happening within my body... Did the pill doesn't work? I grabbed the pill and consumed 1 more... and 1 more for good measure.

That was when chaos kicks in. Only 5 minutes after I took the additional pills, I felt heat coursing through my belly and I can feel it growing!

I rushed quickly to my bedroom so I can see the changes. Within seconds, my belly grew from flat to round... and getting bigger fast! "Oh god it's working!" I said, watching it grew. I held the growing belly with my hands and feel it shift with each seconds. My shirt got pulled up and my leggings gets tight because of the widening hips.

Minutes later, I held my full term belly, heavy with a baby inside. "Feels heavy... oughhhhh!" I said, feeling the first contraction already. My belly was so tight that I can feel the head trying to push down the canal. I can practically feel my dilation opening up. "Oh fuck, it's happening so quickly!" I said. The contraction was on top of each other and I could only kneel on the side of the bed.

Within the next contraction, my water broke, soaking my pants and carpet. I can feel the urge to push as the contraction hits. The head is coming in the canal with each push. However, at the same time, I can feel the baby's getting... bigger? "Ohhhh it's still growing!" I said, surprised by this revelation.

The baby was starting to crown. I reached down and felt the head starting to come out, a bulge forming between my legs. The baby continue to grow inside the canal. "Hookay... baby's coming... head's still pretty small... I think. I can handle it." I said to myself. I slowly get myself up to climb the bed so I can get on all fours, legs wide and still pushing. The crown gets bigger with each push while the head kept getting bigger inside, making it more difficult.

After a while, the head was getting so big that I thought this was the good time to actually get serious. "Okay... I think it's good now." I said, starting to push again. The head feels so big now that getting the head to fully crowning is a difficult chore. I reached down and felt how big my bulge are, but I just kept pushing until...

"AH! THE HEAD'S OUT!" I screamed as I felt the pop. The bulge is massive between legs... and the baby is still growing! "Oh god it's still getting bigger!" I said, panicking a bit.

I reached down and pulled this massive, almost 20lbs baby out of my pants.

MINIMALIST CAS SCREEN V2

This is a redux of my old minimalist CAS screen from a few years back, but with the lighting mod changes I did, problems started cropping up, so I decided to overhaul it.

Changes since V1

new wallpaper for both YACAS and CAS versions

now includes lighting configurations for the CAS rooms themselves. (Note: Both Maxis Match Lighting Mod and Cinema Secrets lighting mods have custom CAS lighting configurations built in, so unless you're using the vanilla lighting, you don't need to add in the lighting configuration changes)

Two versions available: Soft Light and Hard Light.

The differences are more obvious for those on lighting mods than vanilla (see below - soft light on the left, hard light on the right)

With lighting mods, It looks something more like this. Both are taken with MM Lighting Mod (soft light on the left, hard light on the right)

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Part 1: Installing the CAS Screens

Download the required CC and drop them both in the Downloads folder.

Choose one CAS room and one YACAS room from each folder (depending on the lighting type) and drop them both in the Downloads folder. Make sure not to rename the CAS! and YACAS! packages otherwise they will not work.

Part 2: Installing the Lighting Configuration

If you're either a Maxis Match Lighting Mod or Cinema Secrets Lighting Mod user, no need to do anything else, as the configuration changes, customized to each mod, are included in the main files for each lighting mod. Just make sure you're on the latest version of either mod.

If you're a vanilla lighting user, copy both lighting configuration files in the VANILLA_LIGHTING_CONFIG folder into your Base Game Lights folder.

If you're a Radiance Lighting System 2.4 user (NOT my Radiance 2.5 mod, that is unsupported and I suggest any existing users to jump over to Cinema Secrets), copy both lighting configuration files in the RADIANCE_2.4_LIGHTING_CONFIG in the Base Game Lights folder (Note: I used @bugjartimedecayoff's edit as base as this is the most stable RLS 2.4 lighting config available currently)

Paths would depend on what installation you're running on

NEWS FROM THE SERVER TRANSFER ;)

Hello everyone :) A simple post to let you know than 2/3 of the server transfer is done.

The Sims 3 Lounge is now functional and open and should be ok

The Sims 4 k-Mods links are functional and should working fine

But it seems we lost many pictures from the Sims 4 Faktory : so we are currently working on both links and pictures.

For info : the Sims 4 Faktory is the place of all our stuff made for the Sims 4 except the k-mods ;) The Sims 4 Faktory is almost 10 years old ! and still FREE :D

So we had to clean-up the whole stuff to avoid bad links and so on ... A bit more patience too is welcome ;)

As the k-mods page is fully functional, let's talk a bit about what's coming this week ...

Alrighty, I've had a day or two to get my bearings back after being away. I see there's been news.

First off, major respect to Joe Biden. If he were still the Joe of 2020 I would die on the beaches for him. The good he has done, not just legislatively but morally in restoring dignity and grace to the White House, is immeasurable. Getting old is not a failure and not a character flaw. It happens. It took a few beats but Joe came to see he has lost a step or two, and instead of doubling down forever he made the impossible choice to step aside.

Now, let's look ahead a bit. If you went to central casting and asked for the best candidate to defeat Trump you'd get someone pretty much like Kamala Harris. She is almost perfectly tuned to take him on -- she prosecuted sex criminals, conmen, fraudsters, cheaters and Trump is all of those in one package. She is a brilliant speaker and debater (I'll make book right now Trump does not debate her). Just replay the Senate confirmation hearings of Kavanaugh and Barrett and you'll see what I mean.

People were understandably upset at getting the 2020 election redux, wanting different choices. Well, now there is one. Kamala will have the support of minorities, younger voters, women, and unions. The only thing that can beat her is a repeat of the misogynist, sexist attacks that were employed against Hillary in 2016. Throw in racist DEI attacks and the water will be treacherous. Voter suppression, lies, smears, social media campaigns by foreign actors, will all be directed at her.

Yet I maintain if America keeps her eyes on the prize she will have the first woman President (albeit long overdue). Men have screwed the pooch for centuries. Let women have a turn at the helm. It's time.

Many readers asked for books 2 & 3, and I had many others express interest in a 3-part bundle who missed the first run. I've spent November, December, and January prepping the next parts for print, and I'm so excited to share them with you.

Where are the proceeds going?

Rainbow Railroad is a North American-based organization that works globally to ensure safety and asylum to LGBTQIA+ individuals. This is the same charity we donated to last time, and it was a resounding success. Last time, we were able to fundraise $1,600!

How much does shipping cost?

For US residents, bundles will cost a flat fee of $10. They will ship via media mail through USPS.

For anyone outside of the US, shipping has been estimated through the cheapest carrier, either USPS or UPS minus $10. Unfortunately, I cannot control the cost of shipping, and I know that it is extraordinarily high. The bundles will weigh anywhere between 4-6+ lbs, which is expensive to ship.

Wait, I'm from the US. Why am I paying more for Media Mail?

While Media Mail typically would cost $4-6, the increased price is to offset international orders, whose shipping will cost anywhere from $20-60 with the discount. I hope you understand. I want to make this as accessible as I can without personally eating any costs. I am not making any profit off of this project.

When do orders ship?

Once pre-orders close on 3/13, I will order the books. There is typically a 2-4 week turn around for them to be printed and delivered to me. I then have to package and ship everything from my house. I hope to have everything shipped 1 month after pre-orders close, but I am only human.

US mail should take 2-8 days. International orders can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks, so please be patient.

If you are only ordering a damaged copy or postcards, both of which have already been printed, I will ship those out sooner.

When do I get my PDFs?

The PDFs and book proofs are the same, and they are 90% done. PDFs will be delivered via email by me once pre-orders close. I am still doing small changes and edits to make sure they are perfect!

If I order a bundle, do I also need to order PDFs if I want digital copies?

NO! PDFs are included with the bundles and only the bundles. You will not have access to them immediately, only once pre-orders close and I email them to you! Like I said, they are 90% finished, and I am stilling making small adjustments. (Kerning, I loathe you!)

What percent of proceeds are going to Rainbow Railroad?

100%! This excludes the cost of printing and shipping. For reference, the first print run cost $1,254 for the books alone, not including shipping and packaging supplies. Anything remaining goes directly to charity. I am not keeping any costs for labor or making any profit on this.

Wait, there's bonus content?

Remember when I said I was done after the trilogy? Well, @tut557 popped into the Discord server and said, 'Hey, what if they played Mario Kart...' This spiraled into a long conversation about all the different media promos they might do, and then I spent this past November writing another 50k of the #RAINBOWROAD universe for NaNoWriMo.
