Basement (Reggie Mantle x OC)
A fluffy (and almost smutty) drabble in which Reggie and Lydia relive their teen years in the church basement when they come home for Christmas.   Written for @southsidearchive‘s daily prompt, “basement.”
945 words || Reggie Mantle x OC
Tumblr media
“C’mon, Reggie,” Lydia grumbled, grabbing his arm and nearly yanking him out of the car. “Church is going to start any minute.”
“I know, babe,” he replied, leisurely getting out of the car and shutting the door. “That’s why I’m taking my time.”
Lydia rolled her eyes and shoved her hands into her pocket and she started marching across the snowy church parking lot. “I don’t even want to imagine the look my mother would give us if we walked into church late on Christmas, Reggie.  She’s saving us seats in front of everybody, you know.”
“Oh, no,” he droned, taking his time as he walked behind her. “All the church busybodies will know we were running late.”
Grumbling something that sounded shockingly obscene, Lydia kept walking, reaching the building and throwing the door open with a huff.  Quickly, she took off her puffy winter coat, tossing it haphazardly on a hanger in the coat area.  Reggie followed behind, taking the time to carefully remove his coat and hang it very deliberately on a hanger.  Then, when he finished with his, he took the time to fix Lydia’s.
“I’m going to kill you,” she whispered under her breath, regripping his hand and yanking him toward the sanctuary.
Reggie smirked as he let her pull him through the church.  Twice a year, he was forced to make the trip to Riverdale Community Church instead of the infinitely more casual church Lydia usually attended.  She insisted that it was important to her parents that they make it on Christmas and Easter, nothing more.
He insisted that he would rather eat nails than listen to his father-in-law drone for an hour and a half.
They slipped down the side of the sanctuary, sneaking into the front row pew just second before the beginning of the opening hymn.  Lydia’s mom, Hannah, gave Reggie a knowing look, shaking her head as she bit back a slight smile.  He grinned, particularly pleased with himself, and then settled in to try not to fall asleep.
Reggie couldn’t stand sitting in the front of the church—there wasn’t enough to look at when his mind started to wander.  He knew that, behind him, the Coopers would undoubtedly be wearing some assortment of dumb Christmas sweaters, but he couldn’t risk turning around to look.  Moose and Chuck would probably be there, too, making the annual trip to church with their own families and making fun of his unfortunate ass for sitting in the front row.
Next to him, Lydia shifted, tugging at the collar of her turtleneck sweater that he knew made her uncomfortable.  She leaned in a little close to Reggie, absentmindedly resting her hand on his knee. He smiled as the diamond on her finger caught the light—it had been a year and a half since the wedding, and the sight of that ring on her finger never got old.
The rest of the service passed in a long, slow, boring blur, and Reggie nearly leaped out of his seat when it ended.  Lydia rolled her eyes again, taking his hand in hers as they walked out of the sanctuary.
“So, what time is your mom expecting us for lunch?” she asked as they made their way into the lobby, already tired of the forced family festivities.
Reggie shrugged, wrapping his arm around her shoulders. “I think she said eleven, but I wouldn’t hold me to that.” He glanced toward the exit, and then something else caught his eye—the stairs. “In the meantime, though, babe, I think I have an idea.”
She gave him a confused look, trying to follow his gaze but not finding anything. “What are you talking about?”
Grabbing her hips, he pulled her into a tight embrace, lowering his lips to her ear to whisper under his breath. “It’s been a long time since we hooked up in the church basement.”
Her jaw dropped. “Reggie, it’s Christmas!”
He chuckled, placing a soft kiss on her cheek. “You weren’t so worried that one Easter when we were seventeen.”
“Well, we’re not seventeen anymore, and we can’t just—” Her voice dropped to a whisper. “We can’t just have sex in the basement of my father’s church.”
“Wanna bet?” He grinned mischievously, and she couldn’t help but smile back. “I bet that one supply closet still has that pointless lock on the inside.”
Her eyes widened, and she glanced around suspiciously. “If we do this, we never speak of it again.”
“Deal,” he answered, his voice low and urgent. This time, it was his turn to grab her hand and pull her away at a hurried pace.
Lydia bit back a laugh as they ducked through the crowd of people toward the stairs.  She double-checked to make sure no one was looking, and then they slid through the door.  Once they were alone in the dark, quiet hall, they both relaxed, the familiar sights and smells of the place their relationship started overtaking them.
Despite having not been there in years, Reggie found the closet easily, pulling in Lydia with him. With a smirk, he pinned her against the door, catching her lips in a heated kiss.  Lydia wrapped her legs around him, holding him tight against her as they made out.
“This is so wrong,” she murmured, dropping her legs to the floor as she struggled out of her sweater.
“Oh yeah,” he agreed. “Definitely going to hell.”
Lydia rolled her eyes, tossing her top aside and reaching for his sweater next. “Just shut up and do something useful with your mouth.”
Tossing his shirt aside, he licked his lips as he dropped to his knees. “Gladly.”

Riverdale imagine the reader is SP sister and Reggie has know idea when he starts flirting with u and even though ur from the southside.
You were a member of the southside serpents but weren’t as active as the others. When you moved to Riverdale high school you stopped wearing your jacket and wanted to have a normal life away from all the drama and fights. At the beginning it was hard for you to find friends, but after a couple of days Jughead introduced you to his friends Archie and Veronica. You already knew Betty since she was Jughead’s girlfriend. You became friends with them as well and when Veronica opened her speakeasy, you helped her and started working there. That’s where you met Reggie. At the beginning, you avoided him, knowing that he had problems with the serpents and your brother, but then you started to discover that he was actually a nice person.
“Hey, you can take off if you want. I’ll take this shift” he suggested.
Tumblr media
“Nah, that’s alright. It’s not like I have anything better to do”.
“So, I’m not the only one with no hobbies” he smiled.
“Excuse me?”.
“Oh, I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to offend you. I just thought that you- that because you said that you had nothing better to do that you-”.
“I get it, I was just messing with you”.
“Ahm, this is awkward. You’ve been working here for as long as I have and we go to the same school but I still don’t know your name” he was hesitant.
“Oh, not at all. I’m Y/n. Nice to meet you”.
“I’m Reggie” he introduced.
“I know”.
There was a silent moment for a while before he spoke again “would you like to have a drink?”.
“It’s okay, I can get it myself” you gestured at the drinks next to you at the bar.
“I- I meant later… at another place”.
“You mean like a date?” you were surprised, but not in a bad way.
“Y-yeah”.
“Okay. Tomorrow?”.
“I’ll pick you up at 8”.
—
The date went well and you started going out, until one day, you were wearing a sundress and your hair was tied up in a bun, which revealed your serpent tattoo.
“Y/n?”.
“Yes, babe”.
“Are you a serpent?”.
“Oh… how did you find out?”.
“I saw it on the back of your neck. Why didn’t you tell me?” he questioned.
“I was afraid that it’ll change the way you see me and affect what’s between us”.
“I see”.
“So?”.
“So what?”.
“Does it affect our relationship?”.
“No, I like you the way you are. I just wished you’d have told me”.
“I know, I’m sorry. I promise I won’t keep anything from you again”.
“Come here” he pulled you closer and kissed your lips.

My heart was beating out of my chest when Reggie came up to me, asking me out on a date. His award winning smile, his perfect body, and his beautiful jet black hair. I was enveloped in pure joy leading up to the date.
We met at Pops and spent the entire night talking over milkshakes. We were on opposite sides of the spectrum when it came to school. I was the artsy kid who valued the quality of my friends rather than the quantity, while Reggie relied on everyone enjoying his presence. So, the fact that we were able to hold a conversation and keep it going the whole night blew my mind.
We talked about practically anything, electricity beaming through each words and we never skipped a beat. I finally checked my phone to see the time and my eyes widened at the time.
“Reggie, do you know we have been here for almost 3 hours?” I exclaimed, laughing lightly.
“Well, time flies when you’re talking to such an amazing girl,” Reggie looked at me seductively and I blushed at the simple action.
“Do you want to finish up the conversation at my place?” Reggie asked, already beginning to scoot out of the squeaky booth.
“I’d love to,” I smiled warmly, following him out of the shop and to his car.
As we drove back to his house, I jumped slightly when I felt Reggie’s hand rest up against my thigh.
“You know you’re unlike any other girl I’ve been with,” Reggie looked at me momentarily before shifting his direction at the road. His thumb beginning to rub circles on my leg as I️ still sat there tense.
“Is that good?” I️ asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yes, you aren’t like the rest and I like that about you.” I gushed at his words and relaxed into the back of the seat. I could see him look at me through the corner of his eye and grin.
Once we reached his house, Reggie guided me up to his room, flopping down on his bed.
“I want to get to know you better,” Reggie sat up on his bed as I joined him, sitting across from the black haired boy.
“We can go back and forth asking questions?” I offered and Reggie leaned back against the wall.
“Alright, ask me a question.”
“How long have you been playing football?” I asked, starting off with an easy question.
“I’ve been playing since I was six years old, it’s my dream to play professionally, it’s my passion.” There was a sparkle in Reggie’s eye when he spoke and butterflies erupted at the look of pure happiness that surrounded him as he spoke.
“Okay, my turn. Have you ever had a boyfriend?” Reggie asked and raised my eyebrows at his question.
“Well, to be perfectly honest... no, I’ve never had a real boyfriend.” I looked down as I answered, doing my best to avoid eye contact. Once I did look up, Reggie was sitting up, staring intently.
“Really? Why?” Reggie asked but I shook my head.
“No, it’s my turn to ask a question. Have you ever been in love?” I asked, my heart skipping a beat at the risk of the question.
“No, but I could be,” my ears perked up and my heart was almost beating out of my chest at his words. This man definitely had a way with words and his charm was undeniable.
“What about you?” Reggie asked, leaning in a little closer.
“No.” I sighed.
“Do you think you ever could be?” Reggie asked.
“I’d like to think so.” I smiled. That’s when I finally noticed how close we were. My eyes flickered from his chocolate brown eyes to his bright pink lips. Reggie repeated the same actions until he ultimately pressed his lips to mine. Our mouths moved perfectly in sync and my fingers moved into his soft black hair, lightly tugging on strands whenever he would gently tug on my bottom lip with his teeth.
As I moaned into the kiss, Reggie took the opportunity to push his tongue into my mouth, resulting in a fiery dance between the two body parts as a battle of dominance began to form. Reggie quickly won the battle as his hands slithered around me waist and I️ couldn’t help but push my self closer into him. We both let out a low moan at the sudden impact of contact and as Reggie’s hands slowly moved to my ass, I began to grind down on him. Reggie pulled away from me, leaving me with the taste of him still on my lips but still begging for more.
His lips instead, trailed down my jawline, neck, and collarbone. Taking the time to bite down on certain spots until I️ let out a yelp at the feeling. The pleasure he gave me already made grind down harder on him. As his lips traveled further down my body, he moved his hands so he could shift me so my back was laying on his bed. He stripped my shirt off and I suddenly felt self conscious, immediately beginning to try to suck in my stomach and move my hands to cover myself.
“You’re absolutely stunning, you don’t have to hide.” Reggie smiled genuinely and I could feel myself slowly relaxing as his hands ascended down my body and I could feel goosebumps travel up and down my arms.
Reggie quickly threw his shirt over his head and my eyes widened at his toned torso, causing me to immediately lunge at him, making him fall flush against the bed as I straddled him. His face was filled with shock at first but soon relaxed into a smirk as he put his hands behind his head.
Nerves began to set in as my mind drew blank of what to do neck so I ever so slowly crept down to kiss up down his neck, collarbone, and his abs. Taking time to lick up and down the ripples in his abs my confidence rose as Reggie let out a low moan and his hips thrusting up. My mouth moved closer to the buckle of his pants and my hands shakily unbuckled his belt and slid his jeans down.
My breath hitches in my throat at the apparent tent in his pants and my eyes shifted up to see him with a wide grin. I took a deep breath, finally removing his boxers and letting his dick practically slap up against his stomach.
Taking it in my hand, I first pumped him in my hand before flattening my tongue on top of his tip, licking the pre cum off. I could hear the faint growl come from the back of Reggie’s throat and I finally lowered my mouth on him, swirling my tongue around until he hit the back of my throat causing me to gag slightly.
I began pumping him in my mouth, doing the same with my hands to what I️ couldn’t fit. Reggie became a moaning mess at this point. I moved faster due to his sounds and his hips bucked, pushing himself even further into the back of my mouth.
“Yes (Y/N), just like that oh yes.” Reggie groaned,
I took more of him in my mouth as I grew more comfortable and hallowed my cheeks while my tongue kicked a stripe on the under side of him. Reggie pulled me off of him and stared into my eyes, this time with a loving look.
“You are truly amazing,” Reggie smiled and I pulled him into another kiss. This time it was slow and sensual and I could feel Reggie’s hands pull down my skirt, discarding my final pieces of clothing as he removed my bra and panties. He pressed me back down on the bed as he began to kiss the valley between my breasts before attacking the right breast, lightly biting down and sucking at it making me moan loudly. His tongue swirled while his hand went to the other one, massaging it roughly. My nipples hardened under his touch and electricity coursed through my body when I felt his fingers at my entrance, slowly sliding some finger in, pumping carefully.
My back arched at the feeling, my chest pushing up to his as he quickened his pace.
“Fuck, Reggie.” I moaned and I could hear him chuckle slightly.
“I love listening to you.” He proclaimed proudly, now adding another finger pumping faster.
My hands traveled into his hair, pulling roughly with each rough thrust until he removed himself from me. I whimpered at the lose of contact.
Instead, I could feel his tip at my entrance and my heart rate picked up again.
“Are you ready?” Reggie asked quietly. The look on his face looked almost concerned and I nodded.
He gently pushed himself into me and my hands cling to the sheet, gripping tightly at the feeling of pain as well as pleasure. His thumbs pressed bruises into me as he held my hips down while he started thrusting into me. Once the pain dissolved I began to moan out, quietly at first and then it grew to almost a scream. My nails raked down Reggie’s large back and pulled at the small hairs on the back of his neck. He rested his head in the crook of my neck as he sped up. I took his lips with mine, passionately kissing him and one of Reggie’s hand came to grip my face roughly while his other arm supported himself up. My tongue moved into his mouth, exploring it throughly and Reggie let out a lazy groan. I bit down on his bottom lip, lightly tugging at it before letting it go and moving to his neck, biting down roughly.
Reggie’s pace quickened, almost fully pulling himself out before ramming back into me. As his pace quickened, the tight knot coiling inside my lower abdomen finally unraveled and my high came crashing down. Reggie came crashing down as well, both of us practically screaming at the complete sensation of pleasure. Once we finish riding out our highs, Reggie pulled himself out almost collapsing on top of me.
“That was amazing,” Reggie gushed breathlessly as I ran my hands through his now damp hair. His chest was heaving and his forehead was lined with sweat, yet he still looked as beautiful as ever. I quickly agreed with his statement as I snuggled closer to him.
—
(Reggie’s p.o.v)
As I strolled down the hallway to the boy’s locker room my mind swam through thoughts of (Y/N). I havent been able to get her off my mind. I knew that the only way I could actually go on a date with her without my teammates making fun of me is if I put her down as my next target in the book. But that’s not what I wanted, I’ve liked (Y/N) for a while now and all I wanted to do was be with her.
I pushed open the door of the locker room, saying hi to a couple people who were also entering before walking over to my locker, punching in the combination and pulling it open. As I stripped off my shirt I could hear footsteps rolling up behind me.
“Well, well, well, looks like you had some fun last night.” Chuck’s voice cut through and I turned to look at him. Catching a glimpse of myself in a mirror I could see bruises scattering my chest and nails marks faintly starting at my shoulders and working their way down.
“Yeah, I guess you could say that.” I chuckled and turned back around, grabbing my equipment from the locker.
“Damn, who knew (Y/N) was such a little slut?” Chuck laughed and my body quickly tensed up.
“Shut up,” I said firmly, not bothering to turn around to face him, knowing if I saw the smirk on his face I would punch him instantly.
“Well, how many points did you rack up, Mantle?” Chuck asked and I dropped my head.
“Nine...” I muttered.
“Shit, maybe I should take (Y/N) for a ride next.” Finally I whipped around until I was right in front of him.
“I’m not going to tell you again, shut the fuck up.” I said sternly before slamming my locker shut and storming out of the locker room to practice.
—
(Y/N)’s p.o.v
Reggie and I had been dating for three months now and I couldn’t imagine my life without him. We match each other perfectly and everything feels right with him.
I was sitting in Chemistry class when none other than Veronica Lodge walked up to me, giving me a large smile.
“(Y/N), you’re one of my closest friends here so I thought I would offer something up to you. Rumor has it that the football team has a secret book where they challenge each other to see how many girls they can hook up with to cumulate points. Now, Betty and I were planning on sneaking into the school tonight to find this alleged book and we were wondering if you’d care to join us?” She asked and I was taken aback by her words.
“Are you 100% sure this is real? Reggie has told me everything about the football team and he never brought up a book,”
“I have multiple girls claiming this is real, so, care to join?” She once again asked.
“I’ll get back with you on it,” I simply answered.
—
The end of the day was met and my mind had been swimming through the idea of Veronica’s question. Questions of my very own began to surface and I found myself in deep thought until I was pushing the school doors open and finding Veronica, Betty, and Kevin standing not too far away.
“Veronica!” I called, quickening my pace as I rushed up to her while she greeted me with a warm smile.
“What can I do for you?” She asked.
“I want to join you tonight,” I smiled and Veronica nodded.
“Great! Can’t wait,” She smirked.
“What’s tonight?” Kevin butted in, obviously evesdropping.
“Girls night tonight Kev, sorry you can’t come but maybe next time.” Betty quickly threw on a cover story and I smiled to both before running off to get home.
—
The clock on my phone signaled that it was 7 o’clock while Betty, Veronica, and I all changed into completely black outfits. We packed flashlights and all piled into this car, heading to the school.
As Veronica and I kept watching, sneakily looking around for anyone, Betty worked at the lock. And once she was able to open the door well all hurried inside.
“Do you guys have any idea where this will be?” I whipse to the both of them.
“It’s most likely in Chuck’s locker, which Veronica was able to find his combination.” Explained Betty quietly as we snuck down the hallways, flashlights in hands.
It took a couple tries before we finally got the correct locker and the it creakily swung open.
Betty dug through the locker until a flashlight blinded us, making all three of us jump back.
“What do you snakes think you’re doing?” Cheryl asked, hand firmly on hip as she stood at the start of the hallway.
“Finding this,” Betty started, pulling out a large notebook. Cheryl’s heels clicked as she hurried up to see what Betty was flipping through.
“Polly’s in here.” Betty murmured quietly, her hand running over the page.
“I can’t believe I was down graded to the new girl.” Veronica shook her head in disgust.
“Your brother hurt my sister, Cheryl! This is what they all do.” Betty pushed the book into my arms as she whipped around, fuming at the red headed girl.
My eyes scanned the pages until they tragically fell across my name. ‘(Y/N) (hit and run)’ it spelled with Reggie’s name also down next to mine and the number 9.
“Reggie put me down in here.” I said softly, doing my best to hold back tears.
“(Y/N), I’m so sorry.” Veronica came over, placing a hand on my back. I pulled out my phone, taking a picture before giving it to Veronica.
“We need to photographthe evidence and get rid of this horrible thing.” I growled and all the girls nodded.
“We found what we needed. Let’s go.” Veronica stated and we all stormed out of the silent and dark school.
I’m going to write a part 2!!! so be ready for that!!!

kiss you (reggie mantle drabble)
omg merry almost christmas!! i’m actually on time with my winter pieces, yay! i was debating calling this a christmas drabble, bc it’s not christmas-themed, but we’ll call it a christmas-time drabble lol. idk i’m just glad i’m not super late to the party this time around. love y’all! lmk what you think!!!
w: mentions of blood, cheeky reg (!!!no gifs are mine!!!)
i was having a snowball fight outside and you were casually walking by and oh my god im so sorry i accidentally nailed you in the face au (@pynchs)
“Cheryl, no!” You squeal and run from your best friend as she chases you with a snowball.
“Don’t run away from me!” She yells after you and throws the snowball at your back, a laugh escaping her as you turn and give her a shocked look.
It’s the first snow of the season and holy shit, it’s a not just a snow storm it’s a fucking blizzard! And Cheryl, being the insane woman that she is, demanded you all have a snowball fight. The two of you were team captains and right now, she was kicking your butt.
“Cheryl Blossom, you snowballed me in the back! How! Dare! You!” You laugh and reach down to pick up some snow, quickly forming a ball as Cheryl runs away. “Don’t you dare run away from me!”
You run after her, yelling her name before throwing the ball. She feels it coming and ducks down… leaving the ball spiraling towards a focused Reggie Mantle. Oh no.
“Reggie, duck!” Reggie looks up when he hears your voice and the ball hits him square in the face, surprising him and causing him to fall back.
“Fuck,” you whisper, causing Cheryl to laugh as she realizes who you hit instead of her. “Cheryl this isn’t funny.”
“It’s hilarious!” She laughs as you glare at her. “Come on, you made him fall for you. It’s about time.”
“Cheryl shut up! He’s not getting up. Why is he not getting up? I’ll be right back,” you groan, running to Reggie as Cheryl whistles behind you.
Tumblr media
“Fuck,” Reggie groans under his breath, sitting up slightly as you sit down next him. You gasp as you see his lip bleeding, immediately taking yours between your teeth.
“Your lip is bleeding, I’m so sorry,” you brush off the remaining snow from his face and gently place his head in your lap.
“You threw that?” He sits up, wincing and holding his head in his hand while he eyes you. “Jesus Christ that was a good throw.”
“That was-that was a good throw? So you’re not mad?” You wince as he rolls his eyes at you, pointing to the clear gash on his bottom lip.
“I’m bleeding, so I am a little mad,” you furrow your brows, eyes travelling to his lips even though you’re sure this is a terrible idea. “Hey, eyes up here,” he snaps, a playful look on his face as your eyes widen and your cheeks turn red.
“Sorry, I just-it’s bleeding and it caught my eye?” You end your embarrassing statement with a question and leave Reggie laughing. “Oh, come on, it’s not that funny.”
Reggie continues to laugh and you huff, getting up and fully intending to leave… until Reggie grabs your hand and pulls you down right on top of him.
“Think you’re getting away from me that easy? You did bust my lip open, after all,” he smirks, tightening his grip on you and you gasp softly, your breath brushing against his lips.
“We-we really should get up,” you whisper, eyes not leaving his lips as you speak. “I would love to kiss you and I can’t quite do that when you have blood running down your face.”

The Boy Downstairs
Tumblr media
Word Count: 1110
Warnings:None
A/N: Here is Day 5 of my attempt at Twelve Days of Christmas. Hopefully you enjoy it and feel free to send requests for these twelve days!!
Bang! Bang! Bang! You hear on the floor of your room in response to you turning on your Christmas music. You roll your eyes and turn up the stereo louder just to annoy the person below you.
“Shut up!” You hear faintly through the floor and you grin, amused with how annoyed the person below was. You sit down on the floor and yell back down.
“Sorry what? I can’t hear you!” You get back up and grab your phone laying down on your
bed. Your parents were out of town and you had the entire apartment to yourself which made it possible for you to blare your Christmas music without getting in trouble. You hear the doorbell ring and you groan turning down the music then heading to the front door. You open it being met with a handsome guy, he seemed to look the same age as you.
“Can I help you?” You question getting a little flustered by how cute he was.
“Can you keep your music down, I am trying to study and I hate Christmas music.” You frown at his rudeness.
“Excuse me?”
“Look I am trying to be nice here, can you please turn it down at the very least.” You sigh and nod rolling your eyes. “Thank you.” You nod and close the door going back to your room where you turn down the music but continue to listen to it.
Later that night you are laying down in your bed trying to go to sleep before you hear someone talk.
“Hey girl from upstairs. You awake?” You sit up looking around your room then realize that the voice was coming from the vents.
“Yeah, Why?” You lay back down getting comfortable.
“Just felt like talking.”
“Oh okay.” You says grabbing your phone scrolling through social media.
“How come I have never seen you around until today?” He questions.
“I am always at school and when I get home I stay home.”
“Wait what school do you go too?”
“Riverdale High”
“No way! That is where I go, how come I never see you?” He questions.
“I don’t really socialize at school. I go to class then home.”
“You have never gone to one of the football games?” You prop yourself up on your elbows scrolling through your phone.
“Nope, I never have a reason to go.”
“You should come to the one this friday.” You can hear the smile on his face.
“Why would I do that?” You question.
“Well I want to see you again, and you can come watch me play. After words I can even take you out for dinner.” You blush a little at his words.
“I don’t even know you, why would you want to take me to dinner?”
“You seem pretty cool, and you are beautiful, I want to get to know you.” You blush a little smiling to yourself.
“I will think about it.”
“Great. I hope you come.” You two talked for a couple more hours before you fell asleep. The rest of the week went by relatively quick before it was Friday and you had to decide if you were going to the game or not. After thinking it over you decided that you should, mostly because you wanted to see Reggie again.
You went home after school and got changed into a sweater, leggings and boots. You put your hair up into a bun and put on a little makeup, hoping to look cute for Reggie. You check the time and decide to head back to the school to watch the football game. Once it started you were completely lost on what was going on before a girl named Betty explained what was going on to you. After the game everyone went out into the field and you joined hopping to see Reggie. You decided to stay close to Betty since she has been so nice and even invited you to sit with her and her friends during the lunch. She introduced you to her friend Archie who also was on the football team and you talked to them for a while before someone tapped on your shoulder. You turn around seeing Reggie with a smile on his face.
“You came.” He hugs you lightly. You giggle and smile back at him.
“I figured I should see what this whole football thing is about. Also this really cute guy said that he would take me to dinner .” He grins widely.
Once Reggie got changed into regular clothes he came out and you both walked to his car and he drove to Pop’s. When you walk in you see Betty and Archie with a few other people and you smile and wave a little, following Reggie over to a booth. You slide in, sitting across from him, smiling a little.
“So tell me, Why did you ask me to come out with you?” You ask him.
“Well when I came up to tell you to turn down your music, I thought you were beautiful, and when we were talking through the vent I wanted to see you more, and get to know you. You are like one of the only girls who I have ever thought about taking out.”
“Well I am honored.” You giggle, making him smile widely. You and Reggie talked for hours at Pop’s and he drove you back to the apartment building where he walked up to your door with you.
“Tonight was really fun.” He says smiling standing in front of you.
“Thank you for inviting me. I honestly can’t believe we haven’t met before now.”
“Well about that.” You give him a confused look. “I lied about never seeing you before. I always see you at school and I honestly have the biggest crush on you, and so when I had a chance to talk to you I took it.” He chuckles a little.
“Why didn’t you just tell me that? I am not scary” You giggle.
“I guess I was just nervous.” He looks up at you. You smile and kiss him lightly.
“Don’t be. Honestly I’ve had a crush on you since third grade.” He grins looking at you.
“How about we go out next week, see a movie or something?” He asks with his grin plastered on his face.
“Sounds perfect.” You smile going into your apartment. “Night Reggie.” he wave and you shut your door with a grin on your face.

A/N: I’ve been wanting to write for this dude for a while now thank you to the lovely anon for requesting!
Tumblr media
Usually you were the one taking care of your boyfriend’s battle wounds after he’d recklessly get himself into a fight, which is why you heavily considered not showing up on his doorstep battered and bruised as you are now. You didn’t know where to go. You couldn’t go home because you’d get hell from your parents, or they would make a way bigger deal out of it than it actually was, so you ended up here. However, you didn’t consider the fact that your boyfriend is Reggie Mantle and that might actually be worse because he’d probably go on some sort of rampage across the school over whoever hurt his girl. As soon as you ring the doorbell you regret your decision and attempt to run away, but you don’t even get the chance to turn around before the door opens to reveal a surprised Reggie.
You both freeze for a moment; you, because you’re currently facing away from him, not wanting him to see your black eye, and him, because he’s wondering why the heck his girlfriend looks like a fugitive. To hide the scratches and bruises you sport, you’re wearing sunglasses, a baseball cap, and you have your hood pulled over your head. Also the sun has already gone down, so you look like a burglar.
Even after having been dating for some time now, you still find yourself in moments where you simply don’t know what to do because you’re afraid of what he might think of you. That’s totally irrational of course, because the guy is head over fucking heels for you, but insecurities get the better of all of us now and then.
“Hey,” you squeak.
“Hey babe,” he greets you, ushering you inside. As per usual, his folks aren’t home. He leads you to the kitchen, the first place you usually go to when you’re at his house. Without even needing to ask, he gets a tub of ice cream and a spoon, whilst you take your spot on the counter. It’s become a little routine you two do: you sit on the counter whilst he stands comfortably between your legs (you’re still shorter than him) and you share a spoon, passing the tub back and forth.
You try to hide your face the best you can but accidentally let out a slight wince of pain when he kisses your cheek. The sound alerts him, and if your appearance wasn’t enough to be wary about, the noise you made certainly is.
“So are you going to tell me why you’re wearing sunglasses indoors, at night?” he questions, an eyebrow raised. “Or why you look like you came to rob my house…”
“Um… Uh…” You feel stupid trying to hide it from him when he’s literally right in front of you, but you try anyways.“I’m trying out a new trend?” If the blatant lie you tell doesn’t give it away, the fact that it sounds more like a question than an answer sure as hell does.
He rolls his eyes and reaches to take off your hood, hat, and sunglasses, totally ignoring your protests. You try to shove his arms away, but this giant boyfriend of yours is way stronger than you and drops your items to the floor when he sees your face.
“What the fu-”
“It’s not as bad as it looks!”
“Did you get hit by a car on your way back from school?!”
“I-I’m sorry- I didn’t know where else to-” You start stumbling over your words in your nervous ramble, your sentences becoming incomprehensible.
“Y/N,” Reggie snaps you out of your trance. “What happened?”
“I-It’s nothing!” You insist, worried he might make too big of a deal out of it.
“Don’t give me that bullshit,” he says in a tone much calmer than you’d expect. He turns away for a moment to grab a package of frozen peas he then presses to a particularly nasty bruise on your temple. “Who the fuck did this to you?”
You let out a long breath, knowing you’ve been beat before telling him the truth, “These girls from your little fan club were talking shit about us- about how it was ‘just a matter of time before he dumps her pathetic ass’ and I couldn’t just-” You stop yourself, your mind having gone into overdrive with insecurities. What if it was true? He’s the guy every girl in school wants to be dating but he’s with you; why?
“And since when do you let idiotic comments like that bother you?” His eyebrows knit in concern as he shifts the bag of peas from your temple to your eye.
“They said other stuff too- I swear I didn’t swing first!” Although you did provoke them, but let’s leave that out for now. “I just miscalculated how aggressive they were.”
Reggie stays silent as you recount the events leading up to when things got violent. When you finish the story, he leaves, returning with a hot cloth for your scratches. He goes straight for the one on your face without warning, causing you to let out a little whimper as you flinch away from steaming fabric.
A cocky grin appears on your boyfriend’s face as he has a flash of déjà vu, roles reversed.
“What’s so funny?” you grumble at him. You know exactly why he chuckles at your narrowed eyes. He’s probably enjoying this, especially with all the times you’ve chided him for being so careless and hot-tempered. You’re expecting him to do the same to you too but instead he gently kisses your slightly swollen lips.
“I’ve never been more in love with you.”

Bughead Drabble Challenge - Babysitter
“Are you the babysitter?”
It’s said with increduluity. She hadn’t really expected him to react well, but they were out of options and he was the first one that said yes.
Smoothly, she cuts in and pushes her husband towards the bedroom.
“Suit. You have five minutes to get your suit on, Jughead Jones. Marshall all your ‘guy’ instincts, because we have to be out the door in six and half minutes, no exceptions.”
He looks at her as if she’s certifiably insane, then down at their newly minted babysitter, already sitting on the floor, playing with the twins.
“Reggie Mantle is not babysitting my children, Betty. Not happening.”
She gives a frustrated sigh. “Jughead. He’s here, he’s willing, and this is what we’re going with. Now, get dressed or I swear to god, you will not like the punishment I will dole out if we’re late.”
She gives a pointed look down, and he’s nervous and suspicious, but he’s not an idiot.
(As they leave, Betty asks him what’s the worst that could possibly happen. It silences him until the next day, when she accidentally breaks a jar and one of the twins reacts with a gleeful “Shit!”)

Riverdale Bingo
Vegas Wedding
Tumblr media
I have this all planned out in my head. I see it as you and one of the boys being together for a while maybe since middle school or highschool. You are now young adults, maybe have a kid on the way and you are both tired of waiting. I think you have been engaged for a long while at this point but never had the time or money to tie the knot. You would both e fine with just signing papers and being married but you also both would love something bigger. So on the annual family (best friends) trip y’all went to vegas where there was a secret wedding planned. Something simple but you had a beautiful dress and your friends put together a car and trip so you could go on a mini honeymoon to somwhere close to vegas on the trip.

Ship of choice + “You can’t tease me like that and expect not to be punished.”
Tumblr media
“You can’t tease me like that and expect not to be punished.”
Veronica feels her eyes roll to the back of her head as Reggie’s hands settle on her hips and his mouth on her neck.
“You saw my performance?” She whispers.
Reggie nods as he peppers kisses from her neck to her shoulder, “of course I did.”
Veronica braces the edge of the bar as she feels Reggie’s hand move up her body, painstakingly slowly.
“We shouldn’t do this… here…” she mutters.
“You’re right,” Reggie pulls away, smirking at the sigh he hears Veronica let escape, “the booths look a lot more accommodating.”

Aurora Borealis
A short, sweet drabble in which Reggie and Lydia spend some time remembering Midge.  Written for the @southsidearchive daily prompt, “wind.”
1058 words  || Reggie x OC
Read on A03 Here
Tumblr media
According to the DenĂŠ people, the lights were the spirits of their departed loved ones dancing in the sky, and when the lights shone brightly, it meant that their deceased friends were very happy.
Lydia’s eyes drifted shut as the wind whipped through her hair.  The cold, salty air felt sharp against her skin, and with each breath, the refreshing chill seeped through her entire body.  Her skin erupted with goosebumps, and she clung more tightly to the shiny steel railing in front of her.  Below her feet, she could feel the gentle rock of the boat as it cut through the inky-black waves.
Exhaling, she opened her eyes to see the misty cloud of her breath drift off in the night air, barely illuminated under the dim lights of the boat.  Her lips curved into a grin as she looked up at the sky.  Out there, surrounded by nothing but water, there were more stars than she had ever seen before.
With a shiver, Lydia pulled her coat more tightly around herself.  She knew she should have grabbed a thicker one, but she didn’t want to wake up Reggie digging through her bags.  Before she could spend much time dwelling on it, though, she felt a pair of warm arms wrap around her waist.
“It’s the middle of the night, you know,” he murmured, his breath hot against the side of her neck.
“I know,” she sighed, leaning back into his embrace.  He was still warm, having just crawled out of bed to join her on the deck.  She breathed deeply and let her eyes fall shut again as she attempted to commit the moment to memory.  The feel of his arms around her.  The sharp wind against her face.  The smell of the freezing, ocean air.  The sound of the waves knocking against the boat.  The way his lips pressed gently into her neck.
“So, what are you doing up?” His voice was barely above a whisper, so soft she could have lost it in the rush of the wind.  His grip around her waist was firm, though, keeping her grounded with him.
“Couldn’t sleep.” She shrugged, pulling her eyes open to look back up at the stars. “Too much on my mind.”
Reggie followed her gaze up to the stars—she didn’t have to say a word for him to know what she was thinking.  It was March, only days away from the anniversary.   He let out a slow breath, biting his lip while he tried to find the words.  It had been years now, but neither of them would ever forget.
“Some people say we become stars when we die.”
Lydia’s lips fell into an easy grin, and she wrapped her arms around his, holding herself impossibly closer. “I’ve always liked that.  I mean, there was no way I could say something like that in front of my dad, but I’ve always liked it.” Tears pricked at her eyes as she sucked in a breath. “She would have made a great star.”
“She would.” Reggie loosened his grip on Lydia, brushing her messy hair off her face so he could press a soft kiss into her cheek.  She shivered as his hands drifted down her cheek to her neck, his fingertips dancing across her pulse point before sliding back down to her waist.  Even through her coat, his touch felt like a spark of fire against the icy chill.
She let her eyes fall shut again as he rested his chin on her shoulder.  Their bodies seemed to fit together perfectly, her nestled against his chest, his body shielding her from the worst of the wind.  For a moment, she was still as she allowed the memories to overtake her.  Just as she was about to drift away entirely, though, Reggie’s voice snapped her back into the present.
“Lydia, look.”
Taking a deep breath, she allowed the frigid air to shock her out of her memories.  She was here, now—with Reggie.  Then, she opened her eyes.
The night sky had come alive.
Everywhere she looked, the sky was alight—endless waves of green light shimmered through the blackness, turning the ocean emerald.  The light moved slowly, almost leisurely, through the sky, the gentle waves and swirls spanning as far as she could see.  They almost looked alive as they danced slowly through the stars.
Lydia’s lips parted, and her breath caught in her throat. “Oh my God, Reg, I didn’t think we’d be able to see them.”
“Me neither,” he breathed, his voice fading with awe as shadows of pink began to touch at the edges of the light, casting the boat in a warm glow. “Maybe she’s not a star, after all. Maybe she’s an aurora.”
Lydia blinked back tears, overcome with the utter magnificence of the lights.  Midge’s hazel eyes and bright smile flicked through her mind, making her whole body ache with the weight of the memories.  She could almost hear her laugh, could almost see the two of them, barely even teenagers, dancing barefoot in the dewy grass of her backyard, surrounded by nothing but the stars and the wind.
If her soul’s anywhere, she decided silently, it’s in those lights.
The boat rocked below them, and Reggie’s grip on Lydia tightened. “Do you want to head back inside yet?”
“Not yet,” she whispered, unable to pull her eyes away from the illuminated sky. “Not until they’re gone.”
He nodded, and for a moment, they both seemed to drift away, their thoughts a tangle of lights and memories. Before they knew it, though, the lights started to fade, dipping back down below the horizon.  One last wavery green light flicked across the sky, and then they were gone, replaced by the twinkling pinpricks of light from the stars.
Silently, Lydia unwound herself from Reggie’s embrace, taking his hand in hers and lacing their fingers together.  They made their way back to their cabin, and as Reggie unlocked the door, Lydia turned around for one final look. “Love you,” she whispered, her voice so low that even she could barely hear it. “Always.”
Just above the horizon, an almost imperceptible flicker of green danced through the sky, the light coming and going so quickly, she wasn’t sure she even saw it.  For her, though, it was enough.  Love you, too.

10 sad w/ reggie????
“There is no amount of words of how much I hate you right now.”….. I got carried away with this because I love Reggie so much.
===
You stomped your way through the school. The only thing that quelled the fire inside you was your clenched fists as your nails dug into your palm.
First period hasn’t started yet. He’ll be in the boy’s locker room. Both of them.
“Y/N!” Jughead yelled as he pushed students aside to reach you, blocking the entrance to the locker room in front of you. “I know you’re pissed- I am too. But come on, be rational,”
There was a small crowd staring at your interaction. But your eyes never wavered from his.
“If it was Jellybean, you’d have swung off the rails a lot earlier than me,” you snarled as you stepped closer, “Now get out of my way or there will be a Jughead-sized dent in this wall,”
“Don’t break any bones, it’s easier to sue then,” he whispered before stepping to the side.
You made a note to thank him later before you shoved the door open, feeling a rush as you stepped through it. A freshman on his was sitting on the bench, staring at you with wide eyes. “Where’s Reggie?”
He shakily pointed to the lockers behind him, and you followed his direction. Your eyes glossed over with anger as you saw him and Archie joking around.
“Reggie.” He glanced up at you with wide eyes.
“What are you doing her-“ he was cut off as your hand hit his cheek, already displaying a warm imprint of your hand.
Archie stepped between you two. “Hey, what’s going on?”
“Back the fuck up Archie, or I’ll break your nose because you’re just as much a part of this,” you spat.
“Y/N,” Reggie said.
“Fuck you, Reggie,” you yelled, “You and all of you police-state proxies are nothing but dangerous teenagers that think you’re better than everybody else because you know how to catch a football,”
“What happened?” Archie asked.
You whirled your hand towards him. “Oh? Are you such a bad leader that you’re not even told when you’re cronies beat my brother senseless?”
“Sweet Pea?” Archie furrowed his eyebrows and looked at Reggie.
“They broke two of his ribs!” you shouted, “He called me and Jughead to help him limp back home last night!”
Archie stepped closer to you and put a hand on your shoulder. “I’m sorry. I had no idea that the Red Circle did that,”
“At best your Red Circle is a disaster, and at worst it’s a way to terrorize the Southside-”
“That’s not fair,” Archie said.
“-The Southside has the Serpents to protect it, and from what I’ve heard, you guys have not stopped one crime down there. Meanwhile you were the one that did grafitti on our territory,”
“It is for the protection of everybod-” Archie started, and you felt that rage bubble up. All you could feel was your fist against his jaw.
“Stay the fuck out of the Southside,” you spat before you stormed out of the locker room.
“Y/N! Wait!” You heard someone chase after you, and you knew who it was. You walked into the empty student lounge. Reggie panted; his shirt messily on.
“Shut the door,” you demanded, and he softly did. You both stared at each other for a moment. “What do you want?”
“I didn’t,” he started, stepping closer, “I promise you. I wasn’t there when it happened,”
You raised your hand and stepped back. “But you knew about it, didn’t you? That they were gonna go into the Southside?”
‘I-Yes.” He sighed.
“Ya know, ever since that Circle shit started,” you said, “I’ve been walking Toni home because neither of us feel safe because you guys could show up whenever,”
“We would never hurt you,” Reggie pleaded.
“You would never hurt me,” you corrected, “And you would hurt me if we weren’t sleeping together,”
“We’re not just that, you know that,”
“You can’t fuck me and then terrorize my home,” you yelled, “You can’t lean on me when you’re going through shit and not warn me when your friends are there to beat on my fucking brother!”
“I’m sorry!” Reggie said, blinking back tears. “I’ll leave them and-”
“His nickname is Sweet Pea cuz when we were kids, he’d get in fights in order to protect me,” you muttered. And your anger bubbled up again. “ There is no amount of words of how much I hate you right now.” And with that, you walked out.

The holidays had come and gone. Christmas trees that were once radiating with the scent of fresh pine had reverted to dry needles covering living room floors.  Forgotten decorations remained in dark corners not to be found until February. The feeling of conclusion washed over Riverdale. Instead of being preoccupied with new shoes or shiny cars families were thankful to be breathing. The Black Hood met his end a biting December night much to the relief of your family. No longer would you be fearful for the lives of those closest to you. For the first time in weeks, you felt safe, like you were home again. Although that didn't stop the irking feeling of evil being hidden under your nose this whole time, walking the same fluorescent hallways of Riverdale High.
You pushed the nagging to the back of your mind as you sat by your window. Snowflakes fell to the pavement melting upon impact. Riverdale was colder than usual, salt covered every road and sidewalk to keep lives moving instead of cooped up for the final days of break. Your eyes drifted toward a familiar figure exiting the Cooper house, a grey hat acting as armor against the frost. Your mind started to wander back to another young serpent.
The last time you saw Sweet Pea was at FP's "retirement party." You had shown up in support along with Betty, Archie, and Veronica. While the other three decided to put on a show of their own you stayed back talking with Jughead or sitting with Toni at the bar. It wasn't the most comfortable night. You were obviously out of place in the musky bar, Veronica and Archie's rendition of "Bad World" didn't help. You left to find your brother midway through Betty's impromptu striptease. As you pushed your way passed oggling, drunk men, your face crashed into someone's chest. Your eyes trailed up to meet a familiar smirk.
“Easy there, watch where your going Princess,” Sweet Pea spoke over the slow music. You shook your head, embarrassed.
“Did you see where my brother went?” You attempted to look over his shoulder. He leaned back against the poster covered wall and motioned his head toward the exit. “Thanks,” you rushed. Sweet Pea nodded and crossed his arms moving his attention towards the stage.
The temperamental state of high school relationships made an appearance that night. You had tried to comfort Archie the same he did for you when you broke up with Reggie, but you knew he was still in love with Veronica. After Betty and Archie caught the black hood, they rekindled their respective relationships, at least to a friendly degree. Balance restored in Riverdale, or so it seemed.
“Students of Riverdale High, this is your principal speaking. E-mails have been sent to your parents, but effective immediately, Southside High School is shut down. Its students will be transferred to other schools in the district, including this one,” the second Weatherbee’s monotonous voice flooded through the intercom chaos ensued.
The usual hushed highschool chatter amplified to the thousandth degree. There was a tension flooding the hallways. It was to be expected. The northside and southside are seemingly two completely different cultures, cultures that in most people’s eyes should be kept separate. You never understood the hate toward the southside. Yes, it wasn't as pretty as the neighboring northside suburbia, but the people living there are the same as everyone else. It’s not like anyone made an effort to help “clean up” the southside anyway, so what gives them the right to judge the people for doing their best to navigate what northside politicians gave them? Your dad played a significant role in your acceptance of the southside.
Fred Andrews loved his town almost as much as his family and not just one half of it. He welcomed southsiders, namely a few Southside Serpents with open arms to his construction company. Fred never took an issue with the wrong side of town. Although he would never let you travel there alone, you had visited Jughead at the Twilight Drive-In countless times. It had an unmistakable charm; not even the most clean-cut northsider could refute. Now that it shut down the southside’s reputation went further downhill.
When Veronica asked you if you would help her greet the new Southside High students and try to make them feel comfortable walking into the Bulldogs den you jumped at the chance. She knew you would. While you were ecstatic for Jughead to return you couldn't help but hope he’d have his new rag-tag trio following behind him.
Things had been weird in the friendship department ever since you and Reggie split. Of course, Midge was still your rock, but Moose didn't have much of a reason to talk to you anymore. It was a weird feeling. Reverting to social status, you hadn't felt since the 8th grade. No more cheering for your friends at football games and treating them to a victory dinner at Pop's. No more rides to school from Reggie when it's raining.  No more cozy couple's corner to sit at during lunch. It was the little things that caught you off guard.  And you felt bad for Midge who was stuck in the middle of it all. You didn't want her to have to choose between sitting with Moose near Reggie or help you find a new domain to eat lunch.
A piece of you wished nothing ever changed, but the rest of you saw this as an opportunity to grow. What better way to grow than by befriending Jughead's southside pals? They seemed nice enough the few times you met them. And knowing the mentality of Riverdale High, they'll need a northside ally. Not even a minute into Veronica’s introduction to the new students, the cavalry rolled in.
"Listen up, Raggamuffins," Cheryl started. You bit back a laugh at her attempt to sound intimidating regarding your school's above average GPA. She continued spewing her fascist regime until Toni challenged her. Before anything more could come of it, Archie decided to try and diffuse the situation. You were proud of your brother; he was starting to relax back into the open-hearted Archie you knew.  Your admiration for your brothers change of agenda was cut short.
"You don't speak for the Bulldogs, Andrews," Reggie butted in. "And need I remind you, these greaser-snakes showed up at your place trying to kick your ass," he said with a hand on Archie's shoulder glaring towards Sweet Pea and Fangs. You noticed Sweet Pea's face contort into venom as he pushed forward at Reggie. Before another rumble broke out, you spoke up.
"A fight that Archie started in the first place," you looked apologetically towards your brother for throwing him under the bus. Reggie looked back at you almost bewildered.
"You're really defending these thugs?" He waved his finger at the group. You took a seething breath pushing your way in front of Reggie and Archie.
"Thugs? Reggie?" You couldn't help but snort at the irony, "have you seemed to forgotten who Riverdale High's resident drug dealer is?" With each word, your tone got sharper. You hadn't breathed in Reggie’s direction since the break. You didn't have the patience. "Apologize. Now," you crossed your arms.
Reggie looked at you as if you had a third head. His mouth floundered searching for his next attack as he glanced between you and the motley crew. You noticed Sweet Pea stepped forward breaking free of Toni and Jughead's grasp.
"I'd listen to the princess if I were you," Sweet Pea glared at Reggie. The bulldog snarled in return ready to lunge. Before he got the chance, Veronica cut in, followed by the bellow of Weatherbee.
The two forces dissipated in opposite directions. You and Veronica lead the southsiders and fellow members of the welcoming committee to the student lounge where you could finish handing out schedules and assigning tour guides in peace. Veronica made it halfway through the list.
"Who would care to show Sweet Pea around fair Riverdale?" She lifted her eyes above her reading glasses at the clump of clean-cut teens. Whispers tangled throughout the group as they stared at the brooding boy. Shaking your head at their shallowness, you stepped forward.
"I'd love to," you smiled at the surprised serpent. "C'mon Sweet Pea," you said walking out of the safety of the lounge. The two of you walked in silence as you showed him to his first-period and second-period classes. It wasn't necessarily uncomfortable. Neither of you knew what to say. You weren't exactly friends, but not strangers. While walking, you glanced up towards the clock. Six minutes before the bell inevitably rang you stopped short of Sweet Pea's giant steps. He mirrored your sudden halt.
"Um, the bells gonna ring soon, do you maybe want to pick this up during lunch?" You offered. Sweet Pea retuned a hint of a smile and agreed, taking a last look at the room numbers on his schedule before folding it and putting it in his jacket pocket. "Cool, I'll meet you back in the student lounge," stepping back you parted ways.
You tapped your pencil between your fingers on your musty textbook. History seemed especially historical today. Your teacher droned on, dust practically collecting on every word she said. All you could think about was finishing touring Sweet Pea. You were excited to see new faces around Riverdale High. Even now you looked toward your left and spotted washed out pink hair. Finally, the bell snapped you out of your gaze, and you swiped your supplies back in your bag.
You caught up with Toni in the hall as you both headed to the lounge. She plopped down in the chair next to Fangs who was already talking to Kevin by the time you arrived. Not too long after Sweet Pea took a seat next to Kevin while Jughead took his place in the center chair. Josie and Veronica approached the gaggle of teens to made small talk and introductions. Before any meaningful conversation commenced Weatherbee barged in.
“You guys!” He commanded while pointing. We all shared glances of confusion. “Yes, you, come with me.” He promptly exited the doorway. Shrugging, we followed him to the middle of the hallway where a previously sparkling Bulldogs logo remained on the floor. As we looked closer, a green squiggle revealed itself to be a poorly drawn Serpent, tragically mimicking the same one on Jughead’s jacket. “Now! Which one of you defaced our school seal with this graffiti?” He asked pointed at the leather-clad teens.
“This is what they do, principal Weatherbee,” started Reggie in a matter of fact tone. “They tag their turf,” he smirked eyeing the tallest serpent.
That smarmy son of a bitch. “God Reggie, could you be any more transparent?” Veronica took the words right out of your mouth. Weatherbee decided on banning all serpent paraphernalia, including tattoos. At this moment you thought Sweet Pea might be regretting the placement of his own. When everyone retreated back into the lounge, you stood your ground staring at Reggie. Weatherbee and the spectators had continued about their business.
"What the hell Reggie," you were the first to say something.
"I don't know what you mean Y/N," he replied feigning innocence.
"There's only one person in this school with a car fast enough to get to the store and back with still enough time for an amateur art project during his free period," you deducted. "What's your problem with them?"
"They don't belong here," he tried to reason, "they're bad news."
"You don't know a thing about them, Reggie!" Your arms raised up in exasperation. He continued going off on his wrong side of the tracks rant. Most of it muddled through one ear and out the other as you squeezed your eyes shut pinching the bridge of your nose. Then you heard it.
"Babe, c'mon you can't-" Reggie attempted, but you cut him off.
"You don't get to call me that," your voice sounded hollow, "you're, not my boyfriend anymore Reggie. You made that choice yourself."
He didn't get a say in what you chose to do or who you chose to associate with. Without bothering to hear his reply you backed away from him. The person in front of you wasn't the bright-eyed boy you fell for. He was infected with the pain of loss and neglect which contorted into a hatred for people who threated the one slice of normalcy he had left. You wouldn't let him pass that virus to you. As you stepped through the doorway of the student lounge, you didn't notice a certain Serpent eyed the confrontation through the wall of windows. The leftover scowl on your face forced itself into a mildly pleasant smile. You walked up to Sweet Pea determined to finish his tour. He swiftly dug the tattered schedule from his pocket and followed you through the halls.
"We have math together 4th period," you said stopping by the door to the dreaded classroom. "There's an empty seat by me after some kid transferred to Seaside. You can sit there if you want? Um, I mean you don't have to it's just an option if you-" you rambled worried you were being to forward.
"Thanks," he stopped you gently.
You nodded curtly and continued with the tour. Your hands clasped in front of you twiddling with your fingers. You were nearly finished. After showing him the gym, all you had left was the library. You took your phone out of your pocket smiling triumphantly, still 10 minutes to spare before the end of lunch. Looking up to your side you noticed Sweet Pea was staring at you, he was biting the inside of his cheek.
"Do you have a question about anything," you asked suspiciously. It took him a few moments before he concluded what he was going to say.
"What was with you and that Bulldog earlier?" he questioned innocently.
"What? Reggie? He's just an idiot," you tried to brush it off. Sweet Pea's brows furrowed, quirking his head to the side.
"Really? It looked kinda intense?" He must have seen you clenching your jaw as he quickly added, "sorry, uh, its none of my business." His hand offered to surrender.
"It's fine," you smiled reassuringly. "Let's just finish this tour shall we?"
He nodded brightly. You were surprised the way he marveled at the library. His eyes noticeably fixated on the few rows of computers. After that grand finale, the two of you said your goodbyes as you headed towards your respective third periods. Your mind started to wander. Why did he seem so interested in you and Reggie? Was he trying to make small talk? Or perhaps he was taking intel on the enemy? Whatever his motives were the bell disrupted you from sleuthing any further.
Even the smell of the math class made you sick. The second you stepped foot in that room you were bombarded with the scent of worn out erasers, used up pencils, and tears. All trying to be masked by your teacher's obnoxiously citrusy chalkboard cleaner. You took a seat in your familiar spot second row from the back. You took out your textbook and notebooks, hissing as they slipped from your hands. Frazzled you tilted your head back to the front of the room. Sweet Pea stood next to Mr. Chase, holding back a smirk. He had obviously seen your blunder. Sweet Pea nodded at whatever Mr. Chase told him, taking a textbook from his hand and headed towards you.
"So which one's the empty seat you were talking about?" He said pointing to the desks either side of you.
"Um, this one," you motioned to the desk on your right, adjacent the window. The boy took his seat, his long legs miraculously fitting under the table. Throughout math you held your head in your hand, struggling to keep up with the chicken scratch written on the board. Accepting defeat, your attention turned to Sweet Pea. His face was scrunched in concentration. His tongue peeked out from his lips as he clenched his hand around his pencil frantically writing away. You were amazed at how the pencil hadn't snapped due to the white on his knuckles. The dog tags around Sweet Pea's neck glinted in the sunlight that flooded through the cracks of the drawn blinds.
You didn't understand how Reggie could see him as evil or vile. He had been polite and kind to you without incentive that night at Pop's and carried that reputation next to you. Maybe now you had a reason to look forward to math class.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
After I had found my name written in the book along side Reggie’s I had not responded to any of his calls or texts. All I did is simply sit in my room, my thumbs running over the phone screen. Looking at that photo make my stomach churn and tears fill my eyes.
Was this all I was to Reggie? Some sort of game that he could brag about to his friends after that night was over? As I sat their sulking in a thousand questions, I heard a loud and almost violent knock at the door making me practice jump from my skin. I ascended the stairs cautiously and the knocks grew louder until I was at the door. I took a deep breath and swung the door open.
Reggie was standing there, his eyes were tired and his face was obviously upset.
“What the hell? I’ve been calling and texting you all day today and yesterday. Why haven’t you answered we had a date!” Reggie exploded at me, hands flailing and face almost red from anger.
“I’ll answer your question, if you tell me why was I worth 9 points?” I asked and I could see the blood drain from his face. His whole body stiff as he stood there speechless.
“What are you talking about?” Reggie asked softly.
“Don’t play dumb, Reg!” I exclaimed as I shoved the photo in his face. His face softened as his eyes scanned the words across the screen.
“Babe, look-“
“Is this why you’re with me Reggie? Just to rack up more points?” Hot tears began to roll down my cheeks as I spat the harsh words at him. I could see him cower slightly, hearing how angered I was.
“No, no, it’s not like that at all.” He said gently taking a step closer.
“Then why would you write it?” I whipsered, tears spilling out of my eyes now. Reggie took my hand and sat me down on the couch.
“The whole idea behind the book is that guys would compete to see how many girls they could get. But, once you put a girls name down, no other guy can try to hook up with them. If I didn’t write your name down I knew Chuck was going to try to take you from me.”
“How do you know that?” I butted in, still avoiding eye contact.
“Because he told me (Y/N), so I wrote your name down so he couldn’t take you from me. I never meant it as some sort of title so I could have bragging rights or something. I did it because I love you.” My heart leapt hearing those last three words. Tilting my head up I could see Reggie’s eyes were glossed over as well which took my back seeing him start to get emotional.
“You love me?” I asked softly.
“Yes, (Y/N). I love you so much.” His face was genuine when he spoke those words.
“I love you too,” I slowly leaned in pressing my lips to his. It was slow and sweet, as if we were savoring each other’s taste. I could feel Reggie’s hands tighten around my waist and pull me into his lap. As our kiss became more feverly, I began to grind my hips down into him. Our tongues danced together and Reggie repositioned me so I was now grinding down into his thigh. I pulled away slightly, resting my forehead against his as I moaned out. Reggie’s large hands pressed into my hands, helping me into a rhythm as he rolled my hips into his thigh.
“I’m going to make sure everyone knows your mine, babygirl.” Reggie whispered, his hot breath hitting my ear sending shivers down my spine. His head ducked down to my neck and he wasted no time to bite down softly, causing my to let out a yelp. He sucked harshly as my skin at specific locations until he littered love bites down my throat. My hips moved faster against him until the knot in my stomach was almost too tight to bare.
“I know you’re close, baby. Cum for me.” Reggie whispered gruffly. The friction against my clothed heat and Reggie’s mouth moving against my chest was enough to send me over the edge, causing me to snap my head back moaning out loudly. I crashed down from my high, gripping tightly onto Reggie’s shoulder until I finished and was breathing heavily.
“That was so fucking hot, babygirl.” Reggie cooed as he pressed me against the couch.
My chest rose heavily as my head fell flush against his chest.
“Oh, you’re not done yet.” Reggie smirked before flipping me so my back was pressed against the couch. He feverishly kissed down my body, removing any article of clothing that was in his way until I was stripped down to nothing. He eyed my body like a predator stalking his prey. It didn’t take much time for Reggie to finish discarding his clothing as well and he dropped his head close to my ear as he spoke in a hush whisper.
“I’m going to pound you into next week and you’re going to take it, okay?” I couldn’t help but nod vigorously at his words but he simply shook his head, clicking his tongue in disappointment.
“Ah, ah, ah,” he started as he teasingly ghosted a finger over my clit, causing me to let out a dangerous moan.
“I need you to use your words,” His smirked grew as he saw how helpless I was underneath him.
“Yes! Please, fuck me, Reggie!” I practically yell out.
“Now that wasn’t so hard was it, babygirl?” He asked before filling himself into me. I gasped at the sudden feeling and soon after let a moan rip from my throat at the intense feeling. He wasted no time to let me adjust and began to send shock waves throughout my body in deep, heavy thrusts.
My hands clawed at his back relentlessly while his thrusts picked up pace.
His head dipped down to nip harshly at my skin signaling for me to moan out at the feeling and I could feel Reggie groan.
“You’re taking my cock so well, princess.” He adored and I threw my head back at the pet name.
“I know you’re close, so I want you to let go for me and only me.” He spoke as he sent his thrusts even deeper, hitting my g-spot. With one large thrust, I was sent over the edge. My legs shaking from my second and even more intense orgasm. Reggie let out a loud groan as he came too. We both rode out our highs until we came down in a panting and sweaty mess.
“You know I love you right?” Reggie asked sincerely as he started to rub circles into my hips while he laid in between my legs.
“Yes, and I love you too.” I smiled before grabbing his face and pulling him into a sweet kiss.

‘every waking second’ (reggie mantle au)
DON’T MIND ME, I JUST LOVE ROSS BUTLER SM SO PLS ENJOY THIS! it’s pretty long and it features Archie, and yes, this is another college!au (w: crude words and some hot making out)
(gifs aren’t mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
“We’ve been best friends for practically our whole lives but you’re a thousand times more popular than me so you dragged me to a big party and now we’re playing spin the bottle and you spin and it lands on me oh crap” ft Reggie Mantle ( @smorchsmorch)
Tumblr media
“Reggie, come on, I really don’t want to go,” you groan and cross your arms over your chest, earning a raised brow from your life-long best friend.
“Come on, you came to the dance with me. What’s so bad about a little after party?” His hands rest on your upper arms and his thumbs rub small circles into your shoulders.
“What’s so bad is that you know Cheryl has it out for me! She’s gonna say something or do something to embarrass me and I’m going to sit there, dumbfounded,” you uncross your arms and sigh. “You know I’m right, Reg.”
“Babe, looking the way you do in this dress of yours,” he whistles and twirls you in front of him, earning a glare and a blush from you. “Looking the way you do tonight, no one and I mean no one will embarrass you.”
“Right, except that’s all you’ve done tonight,” you tease, laughing and wrapping your arms around him. “You wouldn’t even let poor Archie dance with me and he looked really sad.”
“Sweetheart, if it was up to me, I wouldn’t let Archie near you with a ten foot pole,” he rolls his eyes and holds you close, mumbling under his breath about that boy’s sex drive.
“Fine, Reggie. I guess I’ll go with you to the party,” you roll your eyes and pull away only to find him smiling widely at you. “But if I’m even remotely embarrassed, I’m leaving!”
“You act like I’m gonna let anyone embarrass you,” he scoffs and you laugh, linking your arm with his as he leads you both out of the formal and to the Sigma house  where Cheryl was waiting for the two of you.
“Let’s play spin the bottle!” Cheryl smirks, excited to see how this will all play out while you roll your eyes at her in the corner.
“What are we, 13?” You scoff and she narrows her eyes at you.
“Just because your fairy godmother blessed you for the night, that does not give you the right to speak to me that way you filthy peasant. Now,” she sighs peacefully and looks back to the group as you raise a brow at Reggie. “Let’s begin.”
Everyone gathers around in a circle around the living room, spilling off of sofas and resting on tables. You lean against Reggie and he kisses the top of your head, earning you a glare from Cheryl.
“Reggie, why don’t you go first?” Cheryl smiles sweetly and as Reggie opens his mouth to argue, Cheryl pushes the bottle into his hand. “I insist.”
“Okay,” Reggie gives Cheryl a light smile and leans forward, spinning the bottle almost expertly.
“Seems like someone’s done this a lot,” you tease him and he nudges you, a smile on his face until he sees where the bottle stopped. You turn to see who it’d landed on… it landed on you.
“C’mon, Cheryl,” Reggie groans, seeming more than just unhappy that the bottle had landed on you. Why was he acting like this?
“Aw, I’m sorry, Reginald, but the bottle has spoken,” Cheryl smirks, almost knowing that Reggie won’t be giving up anytime soon.
“I’m not getting into any closet with her, you know that,” he clenches his jaw, seeming disgusted at the mere thought of being alone with you.
“It’s either her or me, the host,” Cheryl walks over to Reggie and places her manicured nails along his biceps. “Those are the rules.”
“That’s not even a question,” he smirks at Cheryl, lifting her up and taking her into the closet as she blows you a kiss over his shoulder.
You were gonna be sick, and Archie must’ve seen it.
“Hey, Y/N,” he whispers and walks over to you, taking everybody’s attention off of you and onto him, some surprised and some not happy with him. “Is everything okay?”
“Hm?” You look up at him, eyes filled with unshed tears that you didn’t even know had built up. You give him a quick smile and clear your throat, quickly standing. “Y-yeah, I’m fine. Thank you, Arch. I’m just gonna head home, feeling a bit tired.”
“Y/N, wait,” Archie yells out after you as you make your way out of the Sigmas house. “Wait!”
You stop only after you’ve stepped out of the house, finally taking a deep breath to respond to Archie. You hadn’t missed the glares that Veronica and Kevin shot you or the heartbroken look Betty gave Archie when he rushed over to help you. You
“Archie, I’m fine,” you give him a tight-lipped smile before continuing down the steps and away from this hell-hole.
“Y/N, stop you’re not fine,” Archie calls out to you, almost pleading but you don’t stop until you hear the next words that spill out of his mouth: “I know that you like Reggie.”
“Excuse me?” You turn around, glaring at him as the tears shot down your face. Archie’s heart breaks for you, understanding your pain all too well.
“I know you like Reggie the way Betty likes me. And I know Reggie was a dick to you the way I was to Betty. And I can almost guarantee that he’s going to regret going into that closet with Cheryl because he hates hurting you,” he walks closer to you and you have half a mind to smack his beautiful face.
“The difference between me and Betty is that she had the balls to tell you how she felt. Maybe you didn’t reciprocate and, sure, that probably hurt like hell but you also had the balls to be honest with her. You and Betty will be able to work this out. Reggie doesn’t know how I feel and he still acted the way he did!” by this time, the tears are flowing down your cheeks as Archie quickly wraps his arms around you. “He acted like I was some grotesque creature, which to be fair, I probably look like right now.” Archie laughs and you can hear his chest rumble and shake under your touch.
“Thank you for this,” you whisper and pull away, giving Archie a soft smile as he wipes your tears. “Walk me home and tell me how you screwed things up with Betty.”
“Can’t think of anything else I’d rather do,” he smiles and links your arms together, both of you unaware of Reggie watching you from the crack in the doorway.
“Archie, no!” You burst out laughing as Archie told you an embarrassing story from over the summer.
“Yeah, it’s true,” he laughs, watching your reaction. “Look, it was my first job, and--”
“Thanks for making Y/N laugh, but I’ve got it from here, Archie,” the two of you sober up as Reggie’s speaks out from behind you.
“Are you sure?” Archie looks at me and whispers, a concerned look on his face.
“I’ll be fine, Arch,” you smile at him and kiss his cheek, Reggie clenching his jaw as he notices the interaction. “Thank you for walking me home. Let me know how things go with Betty.”
“I will,” he nods, blushing as he thinks of his best friend.
“And if I could give you one final piece of advice?” you look to him and he nods. “Stay away from Veronica. She’s pretty, sure. But you and Betty are endgame.”
“Got it,” he laughs and kisses your forehead before walking off.
You stand in place and wait for Reggie to walk over to you, still unable to look up at him. You two continue the walk to your place, a tense silence rolling over your usually chatty commute.
“Why’d you leave?”
And for the second time that night, you lift your head and find yourself saying the words “Excuse me?”
“Why did--why did you leave?” Reggie clears his throat and looks up, eyes meeting your angry ones.
“I’m going to let you think about that for a few minutes and see if you can come up with a response yourself,” you scoff and keep walking but Reggie grabs your arm and turns you to face him, almost holding you against his chest.
“I’m sorry,” he whispers and you almost choke, unable to take the proximity between you two.
“What exactly are you sorry for, Reggie? Why are you sorry?” You feel the tears rushing into your eyes again as you pull yourself out of his grasp. “You can’t just--”
“I’m sorry for being a dick, Y/N. I’m so sorry for saying all that crap and for going into the room with Cheryl when I should have gone in with you. I’m sorry--”
“Are you only sorry because Archie walked me home and made me laugh after I cried over you?” You almost snarl as Reggie looks up at your mascara-stained cheeks. “Are you only sorry because you hate Archie and you saw me enjoying his company?”
“What? Y/N no, that’s not--no. I’m sorry because you’re my best friend and I hurt you. I promised myself that if I hurt every single person in the world, I would do my best not to hurt you. And I failed. I failed you and I failed myself and I hate it, Y/N. I like Archie, I just don’t like him with you,” he whispers out that last part and it takes everything in you not to walk away from him.
“Reggie, I am in love with you,” you whisper as the tears once again make their way down your face. “I am so hopelessly head over heels in love with you. And I know that you didn’t know, that you probably still don’t care, but you need to know how much they hurt coming from you especially. Coming from my best friend.”
“Y-you’re in love with me?” Reggie whispers, his heart leaping out of his chest as he tries to understand what he did to ever deserve you.
“I know you don’t care, Reggie. And it stings now, but I’m sure I’ll get over it. I just--I’m gonna need some time to--”
Reggie takes a step closer and cuts you off, cupping your face as he presses his full lips against yours. He presses you against a closeby tree and smiles into the kiss, only pulling away to take a breath. He gently wipes your tears with the pads of his thumbs and lays light kisses against the trails your mascara left behind, determined to do everything in his power to make things right.
“Reggie w-what--?”
“I love you. I’ve loved you since we were five and I will always love you. I’m so fucking sorry for what I did and said in these past two hours and I swear I will spend every second trying to better things if you just give me a shot,” he whispers breathlessly, pressing a kiss against your forehead as you finally breathe.
“What about Cheryl? Won’t she-?”
“Nothing happened between Cheryl and I, nothing will ever happen between Cheryl and I. I only took her into the closet because I was scared. I was scared of the feelings I had, scared that you didn’t return them,” he blushes as he admits his slightly irrational fears to you. “And if you don’t want to give this a shot, then that’s okay, too. I just want my best friend. I want you to know that I’m sorry and that I love you and as much as I hate to admit it, if you’re not with me then the only guys even remotely worthy of your time are Archie and Jughead. I’ll even walk you down the aisle if you decide that you want to marry one of them tomorrow, just anything to--”
“Shut up, Reginald,” you whisper and press your lips against him, pulling him close by the collar of his shirt so that you could feel every bit of him that you possibly could out in the open.
His hands soon found your waist and gripped it tightly, pulling you against him as a quiet moan escaped your innocent mouth. Reggie took this opportunity to move his lips down the side of your neck, to your throat, your collarbones, your shoulders. He nipped and licked every bare inch of you that he could. His hands move down your thighs, skimming past your ass as his lips find yours again.
“Jump for me,” he whispers, a growl leaving his mouth as you quickly do what he asks, your legs wrapping around his waist as he lifts you up to his height. “You’re fucking perfect,”
“You’re not so bad yourself,” you whisper, pressing your lips against his jaw and his neck as your fingers tangle themselves in his hair.
“I’m going to spend every waking second proving how perfect you are to me, proving how much I fucking love you,” he whispers, pressing his lips all along your jaw and chin and neck before making his way back up to kiss your lips. “Every waking second.”
