Kyoko sure had a lot of confidence wandering up to Kanons lab like this. Though everyone in Miyazaki liked to think that they were on fairly decent terms with Silent Tragedy.

“Kanon-san! We got you some stuff!” Rinko was the one to call it out first.

“Though this last edition was a bit- unintentional” Kyoko giggles evilly

From Himari you received a massive box of sweets: Candies of different varieties, chocolates of all different types…it’s sure to make anyone’s mouth water. There’s also another box with a brand new white lab coat with Kanon’s name stitched into the front of it.

From Rinko you received a record: Months in advance she had this made- it was a bunch of classical music that she personally covered as well as a few of her own songs. The cover that contained the record was signed by Rinko herself.

“Your the only person who owns this specific copy” Rinko admits

From Kyoko you received a huge cake: Somewhat similar to the one you gave Himari for her birthday!

“I heard from sis that you don’t see the point in birthday’s but we couldn’t help but get some gifts together- however Himari and I are sorry this next gift is a little bit…busted”

Himari seems to be carrying a large- human shaped bag?! Apparently she managed to fit a grown man in a bag normally reserved for dresses!

“I’ve gotten everything i need from him- his money is already going to the charity that sis runs” she snickers “He HATES charities that help women- but that’s besides the fact! I figured you could get more use out of him than I could- i hope he makes a good test subject!”

“Sorry his jaws broken- he came after Kyoko and I couldn’t help myself” Himari shrugs

Kanon sighed in irritation at the sound of the alarm signaling that someone had stepped onto her property, upon checking the security cameras, and seeing that the ladies from  Miyazaki were there, she was quick to turn off her more dangerous security measures. Kanon paused her latest work on her project and made her way to the entrance of her lab.

“I take it your here because it's my birthday?” Kanon asked and sighed again when they held out their gifts.  “Fine, what did you get me?”

Even if she didn't show it outwardly Himari’s gift was one she greatly appreciated. It was sure to last her for a while at least. Chocolate was one of the few things left that she was still able to stomach. The lab coat was a nice gift as well god knows how many times Kanon has destroyed her other coats during her experiments. She mentally made a note not to damage it too much at least.

Kanon had always been a fan of Rinko’s work so she knew that her gift would be playing on repeat for the next few days. Anything to drown out the voices that constantly tormented her. The fact that Rinko had personally recorded it for her made Kanon feel a bit happy on the inside. 

The moment Kanon saw Kyoko’s cake she knew that she would have to hide it because Reika and Sakura would have a conniption if they knew how much sugar she was gonna eat. At least she was eating something that was becoming harder and harder for her to do with every passing day.

Kanon couldn't help the mad laughter that came out of her mouth when she saw Miyazaki’s final gift for her. Oh yes, she now remembered why Miyazaki was one of the few divisions she liked. She had been just about to call Sakura to see if she had anybody but with Miyazaki’s thoughtful gift it looked like she wouldn’t need to.

“HAHAHA! Why aren't you girls so thoughtful? Don't worry you three he’s in good hands with me. HAHAHA!”

The day was slowly coming to an end in Miyazaki on a certain shrine maiden's birthday. The birthday girl was currently relaxing in the living room when Kyoko heard someone knock on the door. Walking over to the door Kyoko opened it and to her delight revealed a certain socialite from Shizuoka. 

"Happy Birthday Dear," Reika smiled, looking stunning as always with a couple of gifts in her hands. Walking inside the house, Reika hugged the shrine maiden gently, making sure not to disturb the gifts in her hands too much. 

"I would've come sooner but something came up in Shizuoka that I had to deal with. Now then I got you a few things for your birthday." Reika carefully placed the gifts on a nearby table and passed one of them to Kyoko. 

The first gift was a pair of black Louboutin heels. Thankfully the heels were quite small as Kyoko wasn't sure if she could walk in the six-inch stilettos that Reika wore daily.  

"Haha! Don't fret Kyoko. I made sure to get you the ones with the smaller heels as I'm well aware that you don't often wear them as I do." Reika laughed, picking up the second gift and passing it over.  

The second gift was one that had Kyoko choking. It was a beautiful necklace and earring set made of genuine diamonds and pearls. Kyoko almost didn't want to touch it, afraid to damage it in some way.

"Now every young woman should have their jewelry so that's why I bought you your first set."  Reika giggled amused at the look on the shrine maiden's face. 

"Now this gift I'll admit was a bit unexpected," Reika said, opening the final gift herself and gently pulling out what was inside. 

In Reika’s hands was a baby fox sleeping away. Careful so as not to wake them, Reika placed the baby fox in Kyoko's hands. Kyoko could barely hold back a squeal at the sight of the sleeping creature. 

"I found them a couple of days ago. They were in my garden thankfully I discovered them before they could get closer to some of my more dangerous plants. I tried looking for their mother but sadly no luck. I was a bit stuck on what to do. I couldn't keep them because I knew Kiyohime would try something. Then I remember that you had experience with foxes. So I'm leaving this little one in your care." Reika explained, scratching the fox's ear. 

Suddenly a loud honk was heard that had Reika rolling her eyes and Kyoko nearly jumping out of her skin.

"Tch. That's Sakura. She and Kanon are in my car out in front of the shrine. Remember what I said about something coming up in Shizuoka? A group of people was foolish enough to try something on Sakura's territory. Now she's on a warpath and let me tell you that is something you do not want to be on the receiving end of. We managed to track them to somewhere in Miyazaki. I barely managed to get Sakura to let me stop by here first to drop off your gifts but it seems like she's getting impatient. Well, then Kyoko I have to leave now. It seems like there are a few people…whose life spans are going to be cut early. I'll see you soon." Reika gives Kyoko one last hug before walking out the door. 

Just as she opened the door to leave another loud honk was heard.

"Sakura! I get it! You're pissed! Take your anger out on those bastards when we find them! Not my car's horn!" 

Kyokos eyes lit up at the sight of the woman- her favorite big sister! The fun big sister even.

“Big sis~ so good to see you!”

She was well aware that money wasn’t hard for Reika to come by. She wasn’t expecting gifts like these however.

Kyoko had never owned anything so extravagant.

“Hey at least I’ll finally be a little bit taller!”

She couldn’t help but fawn over the little fox- a new friend for Mochi to play with!

She was a little sad to see Reika go so soon, stepping out the door behind her she gave a small wave to the other two ladies in the car.

“Bye everyone- have fun tearing those fuckers to shreds”

December 2021 Monthly News Round-Up

It’s round-up time! Below the read more is a compilation of some notable news stories that we haven’t previously posted about.

AKB48

Member Miho Miyazaki has announced that she will be graduating from the group in February 2022. [x*] Member Rena Kato has announced that she will be graduating from the group on February 20th 2022. [x*]

ANGERME

The H!P trainee Hirayama Yuki has joined as a 10th generation member of the group on December 30th. [X]

BiSH

The group announced on December 24th 2021 have announced that they’ll be disbanding in 2023. Full details of the group’s planned activities for their final year are in English here . And the Japanese announcement is here .

HKT48

Member Haruka Ueno announced that she will be graduating from the group on January 31st 2022. [x*]

H!P New Unit - Ocha Norma

The Hello! Project Trainee Unit is named ‘Ocha Norma’ - the name coming from ‘ocha-no-ma’ which means relaxing place where everyone gathers, and the Latin word ‘norma’ meaning standard/norm. The Trainee Unit has two new members Tsutsui Roco, and Tashiro Sumire. The group will start activities on January 2nd 2022. [X]

Maneki Kecak

Member Mio Fukase has announced that she will be graduating the group after their final live on May 22nd 2022. She has found other things she wants to do, and is leaving the group to pursue those things. [x*]

Negicco

Member Nao, who was married in 2019, has announced that she’s pregnant with her first child. She anticipated to deliver in May 2022. [x*]

Marin Shobu was dismissed from the group after a serious contract violation. [x*]

Member Minami Hoshina announced that she will be graduating from the group in February 2022. She will also be retiring from the entertainment world. [x*]

Trivia:

Most of the costumes used in the music videos were designed and created by Ramuda "easy R" Amemura, with assistance from Evelyn "SPIRIT" Rose.

The dance scenes in "Words I Couldn't Say" & "You Are (My Bright Star)" were choreographed by Yeong "9-Dan" Hajoon.

The rap sheets shown before "Revenge (This Is How We Do)" were all fabricated. Probably.

The 'as you wish' and 'yes sir' parts of the chorus on the song, "Obey Us" were delivered by Miho "Iron Maiden" Kobayashi's butler, Goro Eguchi. He went uncredited in the album credits.

Due to high approval from the first shuffle album, more songs were included, along with more artists from different divisions.

Reika's Thoughts on Miyazaki Division

Himari Asami

“Ah, Himari my favorite tailor! Sakura was the one who introduced me to her work. I’m well aware she doesn't like talking about her trial but from what Kanon has told me I don't believe she actually did it. We actually took Kanon’s lab coat to her so she could repair it once. How she managed to repair it I’ll never know but it solidified her as one of my favorite people to go for clothing.”

Rinko Yamate

“I've been to her shows a few times. She’s probably one of the few people on this planet I'm grateful towards. Sakura and I often play her pieces for Kanon to listen to when she has an episode. It's one of the few things able to calm her down. When Sakura mentioned saving her from an attacker one night I could feel the blood drain from my face. Thankfully Sakura was there when she was because Kanon is absolutely terrifying when she goes ballistic. The face Kanon had when Sakura gave her the man who attacked Rinko well I won't say much other than the fact that they're still finding pieces of him to this day.”

Kyoko Maruyama

“To witness your own mother’s murder is a terrible thing. She has my condolences for that. I hope she’s doing alright despite witnessing such an act. Ah, what's this? Oh, an abusive ex huh?” Reika’s eyes narrowed. “I have never liked abusers. Mama used to come home with bruises all over her some nights. You would not believe how many times I wanted to go out and beat those who harmed her. That being said if Kyoko wants to come over one day I can show her a thing or two about how to deal with abusers.”

Beautiful Nightmare

“Kanon thinks we can get them to betray Chuohku. I do hope they chose to because I quite like this team and it’ll be a shame to destroy them just because they work for Chuohku. Besides Kyoko has my attention. It’ll be nice to have someone to teach all my skills and I have always wanted a little sister."

The day was finally coming to an end in Miyazaki. Himari Asami was in her home spending her birthday relaxing. That's why it came as a surprise when she heard the front door ring. Walking over she opened the door to reveal a sharply dressed man with several scars across their face. 

“Ms. Asami.” the man answers holding out and giving Himari several packages before nodding his head and leaving. Back inside, Himari walked over to the kitchen cursing at how heavy one of the packages was before placing the item on the counter. 

Wondering who could have sent her all these gifts Himiari grabbed the heaviest present first and began to open it. 

Inside was a brand-new white and blue sewing machine. There were also several bolts of expensive fabrics and a spool of gold-colored thread. Pulling everything out, she found a letter attached to the machine.

“Dear Asami,

When I hear it was my favorite seamstress's birthday I knew I had to get you something. Alongside the brand-new machine, I got you several bolts of some of the harder to obtain fabrics like silk and a spool with thread made out of genuine 24k gold. I hope you are able to put them to good use with your clients.

Giving a smile at the socialite’s gift Himari turned to the closest package and began opening it.

Opening the gift reveals a bottle of expensive cherry blossom flavored sake. Hanging from the bottle was a note plucking it Himari began to read it. 

“Dear Asami,

Happy Birthday.  I hope you enjoy the sake it was made in one of my personal breweries. The Kito produce and sell (legally mind you) sake all throughout Japan as one of our more legal ways to make a profit. This sake is a limited edition and is only sold during the Hanami season while watching the cherry blossoms bloom. Hope both you and your teammates can enjoy it.

Placing the bottle down Himari picked up the last gift and began to open it.

Opening the final gift reveals a chocolate cake. Chocolate swirls decorated the cake alongside the words Happy Birthday written on it. It smelled wonderful and seeing a note on top Himari picked it up beginning to read.

“Asami,

Happy Birthday. While I am personally not a fan of such frivolous celebrations. I suppose I must congratulate you on another year in this unstoppable marching of time that is slowly guiding us all toward an inevitable death. Take this cake as my appreciation for the many times you have repaired my lab coat.

Those were the first words that came out of her mouth upon looking at the box Kanon had sent her.

Don’t get her wrong- she loved the gifts! It just shocked her that Kanon could bake!

With gentle hands she picked up the thread from the box Reika had sent her. Spending money on this was probably chump change to someone like her- still it warmed her heart to see that one of her favorite clients would send her this. As for the machine- it was perfect timing considering Kyoko somehow managed to absolutely wreck her old one this afternoon after some…rather aggressive attempts at stitching her kimono back up after one of her boy toys got…aggressive.

Seeing the Sake she couldn’t help but smile.

“Kyoko! Rinko!” She shouts.

“What’s up Mari”

Kanon's Thoughts on Miyazaki Division

Himari Asami

“Himari Asami, also known by the MC name MARI. Subject is a former member of the disbanded Darling Divaz. She was convicted of the murder of her former teammate Kaede Kiyomi something I doubt she actually did. Chuohku struck a deal with her in which if she joined the D.R.B that she would be released from death row. Subject currently works as a tailor that both Reika and Sakura frequently visit. They even once brought my lab coat to her to repair. Her work was acceptable even managing to completely repair it despite the fact that it was stained with blood and torn to shreds. Data concludes that precautions should be taken against her.”

Rinko Yamate

“Rinko Yamate, also known by the MC name Electric Rose. Subject is a famous violinist who has recently made her return to performing concerts after her incident from 6 years ago. I am a fan of her pieces often listening to them when conducting experiments. I even managed to see her perform a street performance from afar while she was in Shizuoka. She is currently on my list of people not to cause harm if only for her violin skills. Data concludes she is not a threat but to avoid doing too much damage to her. “

Kyoko Maruyama

“Kyoko Maruyama, also known by the MC name Inari. Subject is a shrine maiden at her family’s shrine in Miyazaki. Her mother’s murder by her father seems to have heavily affected her. Subject hates abusers and is often seen trying to break domestic disputes. Reika is interested in her as someone to potentially pass on all her knowledge. So I will leave her alone for now. Data concludes she is not much of a threat.”

Beautiful Nightmare

“Miyazaki Division’s Beautiful Nightmare is perhaps the group I like the most out of all the divisions. I wonder if we can persuade them to betray Chuohku? Reika and Sakura have agreed to offer them sanctuary in Shizuoka if they do choose to do so. They have done such an excellent job of removing Chuohku’s influence from the city so much so that you could even call Shizuoka a rogue city. Data concludes that this division is not much of a threat and to avoid doing too much damage to them."

Miyazaki division: Dark ending- Kyoko Maruyama

“If it wasn’t for Reika-san…Sora would have killed me”

Kyoko went down a darker path during this time, instead of her sisters and grandmother finding out about her relationship she ended up leaving her position as a shrine maiden to marry Sora Takashi.

A few years went by and soon she turned 24, getting used to the lifestyle of the high class.

Attending parties, covering up bruises, playing the role of a perfect wife all while her “loving” husband cheated on her.

Until one cold December night, at a gathering in Shizuoka…Sora was caught flirting with a woman named Reika.

Seemingly oblivious to the woman’s shady past…the man all too willing fell under her spell!

Only to pass away seemingly moments after she departed, foaming at the mouth and dying an agonizing death.

Perhaps it was pity, perhaps it was boredom that led Reika to slip something into his drink. Perhaps it was the fact she had watched Sora slam Kyokos head into a wall earlier that evening

On that lonely Christmas Eve…Kyoko gained a new ally.

Later on she started off small, she learned what mixed well in nail polish, she learned to wear gloves to avoid scratching anyone.

She learned what could be masked by the taste of a drink, learning when and how to slip in just the right amount of poison.

She learned how to charm men with her sweet and innocent facade. After all…she’s just a meek little woman right? A woman who knows her place in the household run by a man-

A man that would soon find himself on the floor, looking up at the face of his lovely partner.

The same partner that would soon get everything in his will.

“How stupid…he should have seen it coming”

With the guidance of Reika Aichi…Kyoko Maruyama would become a force to be reckoned with.
