Headcanon: Renathal does an absolutely disturbing impression of Denathrius. When combined with his perfect copy of the Sire's signature, it came in more than a little handy during the rebellion.

Thank you @olivescales3 for the tag. I’m still working studiously past my brain block, and making minuscule but legitimate progress. I got through the first of the regrettably necessary “describing things” sections, and just have one more to go (I hate describing things so much).

Which was how Elisewin came to sit opposite him in his carriage, six weeks later, arrayed in skirts of just visible crimson under armored bustier and overdress of onyx and gold. More gold glinted at her forehead, neck, and wrists; the purple of the regal jewel at her waist a match for the skin of her long, bared arms. The smooth surface of the various shining metals caught the twilight peeking through the slits in the carriage doors and lit the dark interior in sparkling shadows that flickered as the carriage bounced along the Redelav District's twisting, turning roads.

Like being inside a candle flame, mused Renathal whimsically; an impression intensified by the warm glow of merry anticipation simmering within him. He had not looked forward to a court like this in a very, very long time

Headcanon: Renathal knows EVERYTHING about how Revendreth and the Shadowlands work, but his knowledge of the mortal realm is limited to Denathrius’s bedtime stories. This leads to such suave interactions as:

"Maw Walker, you are expecting a child! I cannot remember, do you pick them from trees or vines?"

"Of course I know what an ocean is. They're used for playing handball."

"THAT is a child? It doesn't smell anything like you! I thought it was some sort of livestock you brought to feed your offspring. Good thing I found out before Picky Stefan got here, what?"

(If you aren't aware, Picky Stefan is a chef.)

"I've never seen anything like it. I thought it was gnome!" (Spoken while staring at Vrednic and a chihuahua while they sniff each other, tails wagging.)

and

"What do you mean, inedible? You said you wanted some grass smoked tonight. Have you any idea how long it takes to harvest this much grass in a wasteland??"
