Massive Spoilers for Clair Obscur and Lies of P under

Not Verso stimulating my Lies of P brainworms by being a puppet based on a neglected son who died mysteriously, basically fulfilling all I ever desired out of P as a protagonist in Lies of P because Verso actually gets to fully sever the puppet strings connecting him to the player and it is only through Maelle that those strings can be forced upon him again, he gets to have a voice throughout the entire narrative and experience his humanity to the fullest (whilst P, to his merit, was only just discovering it despite all the physical reminders that he is, in fact, of a class of transhumanist beings entirely created to be slaves in a "morally palatable" way)

Both of them having to stain their hands for their families

Both of them sharing a love of music (particularly the piano) that literally makes them feel more alive and human in their own skin

Both of them being created as the escapist fantasy copy made by questionable parents who in one way or another they force to come to terms with their loss (even if Geppetto was a shit parent to his last)

Both of them using lies as a form of protecting people they come across (Verso extending these lies to the player until the last minute)

Both of them forced to be a puppeteered reincarnation in their bad endings

i didnt post it on here but i talked about it on discord but au where ariane and elster do make it back from the penrose mission not for any of the reasons people usually want that but because i think by that point they'd be so dangerously codependent and weird they literally could not function in normal society and i think that's a fun idea

yknow stuff like ariane finds herself watching those same movies with elster that they did on the ship still because it's the only thing that feels familiar and safe anymore because oh wait the regular world has a LOT of stuff and now it's a sensory nightmare and i thought i wanted this but now its too much too fast and nothing makes sense now

ariane not responding when people other than elster talk to her and staring right through them because she'd gotten so used to hallucinating family members near the end she just assumes that's what's happening now so she doesn't even bother replying

elster doing everything for her and being unable to be separated from her for very long before she starts to freak out and worry something bad has happened to her. plus ariane being physically unable to care for herself at that point anyway from the frostbite she definitely has or whatever other injuries you want to give her.

neither one of them ever saying something like "were you talking to -me-?" it's always "were you talking to -us-?"

Beatrice "Trice" Seong is a captain of her own ship with a small crew on Vineta - her job currently is delivery of supplies to various settlements there as well as ship salvaging and other diving-related work. She's (another!) Vinetan war veteran and has a past with Lyuda, altho she's way more accomplished in the military than her - being a naval major. The gun she hands over (to a starling Hellebarde but that's for another day) is an obsolete model and memento from the war.

Very collected and assertive woman with all qualities for a great leader, she cares deeply for her underlings (even if she doesn't fully consider replikas as human as her... it's a bias she'll have to untangle) and lives by "captain goes down with their ship" motto. She's also pretty superstitious and headstrong :b

One day Trice visits T-02 to drop yet another bunch of cargo, and it just so happened to unluckily coincide with the whole facility closing for quarantine over a mysterious and deadly illness...

and ur right about their gestalt :} i cant help making everything about brazil it is what it is. she was a graphic artist who made a few propaganda posters for rotfront and was dating a photographer who got her most of the pics she used. She was depressed af and was filled w regret when she got fridge'd, which got carried over to the tukans. i joke abt them killing each other a lot but its actually really rare (they wouldnt still be produced if they kept killing each other lol), but all it takes is one tukan to be really unlucky and remember that photographer and then all the regret comes back. If ur bird starts acting weird u better euthanize it before it makes all the rest act weird too

theyre like. stuck in a cycle of remembering words and touches and feelings and longing for them so much they try to recreate it with each other, but then they get pissed that the other ones also long for the same thing and murder happens. sometimes they forget which role theyre supposed to play, and the parody they end up making of the photographer makes them feel sick. theyre probably chasing after a woman who doesnt even exist anymore . outside of all that theyre fineeee >____< whateverrrrrr. you should let the cadre share a collection of random packages and shit just to satisfy their graphic design autism this is really important. and also don't let them near anything about the ocean. snow is foam for those who haven't seen the sea and all of that

HI SOSA!!! I’m sorry to disappoint but I don’t have too much more on her yet.. since I made her for the group I do lethal company with I knew I wanted someone very different in demeanor to Kabel, so Cadena is almost her inverse? She’s got that mynah sweetness but with an additional twist of danger not really registering in her head? Like compared to Kabel who’s a second away from kicking someone in the head out of fear of potential harm to herself, Cadena is able to remain unnervingly calm in a lot of situations. She’s cheerful and nice but under that is a layer that’s too chill for her own sake…

I don’t have to much on her life before being sent to L13’s timeloop hell since I’m still working on it , but she definitely killed someone which is what got her sent to L13. I think before that she was a respected but quieter member of her cadre, and earned the name Cadena because she was a silent but strong link in her facility, like a chain! I’ve also been thinking of adding a chain as an accessory on like one of her mynah handles/tied around two of them, I think it’d be cute. Design wise I also think she got her visor damaged from the murder she committed (which is why right now I’m partial to saying it was a fellow mynah, I don’t know what else could break that like that!).

Once she’s reassigned to L13 she also becomes fast friends with @/otterkitty’s starling Neo and we’re still working out dynamics but Cadena is quite fond of her! I think she generally tends to view other replikas as cute/has cuteness aggression about them except for in the case of my Kabel. I think this dialogue gives the best idea of how Cadena talks and thinks if that makes sense? She’s very aware of her strength and what she can do with it, but is also very lighthearted. There’s something wrong with her though <3 I am going to make her worse <3

Haiiii you mentioned a sec ago that you could maybe do a small tutorial on coloring and shading?

I tried to do something similar to your stuff (twice. The first time was copying the shading style on that first Sybil piece and the second was just generally trying to emulate the lineart/color style you have) but it’s crazy how hard it is and well let’s just say it sucked. So I’m looking for advice from the pro in the room.

Heoo First of all i am definetly not a pro in shading , I genuienly kinda dont like doing it fjfjgj most of my art files are just line art sketches and doodles cause color is. Decietful and backstabbing but i do use some old tricks i learned from internet and youtube

I do use Medibang pro for software , it aint fancy but it sat with me more than paint tool sai for over 8 years now i think ,its free and has good stabilizer (i average on 16 setting) uhh for the brushes i do use u do need to download them but they are in the free section of medibang.

And as for process here it is very roughly while using a blorbo for demonstration. The last stage with shading darker/ purple multiply layer cheat i combine , and if im realllyy doing a full shading piece , I'll merge all layers together and start just. Blending stuff and lineart too together. Yeet some ADD light gradients and thats it. Theres few more tricks like duplicating lineart and bluring it slightly for a soft glow , or using motion blur for cool effects.

I just like the idea of Elster being made by IPS-N and licensed for their mechs. But after coming into contact with Ariane Yeong she starts getting licenses for Horus mechs like the pegasus.

oh i am 100% with you there. a while back i was talking about what mech elster would pilot and my first instinct was something ips-n but it felt too bulky, eventually my friend suggested kobold and i think i agree

So I looked at this Art you made, and I imagined a Signalis x FNATI AU where… Eslter is the night guard in place of Jake and all the Toons / Humanoids are the corrupted Replika Units or demented versions of Gestalts, and Elster is just trying to find Ariane on the Island

And maybe for a Silly Falkler based AU where Adler is the night guard and he encounters a corrupted Falke, but she recognizes him, so at that point Adler doesn’t have anything to worry about because Falke will always come to save him.

YEAAH .. i think a fnati signalis au would go hard…. theyre stories are pretty similar in some aspects i think (themes of losing your identity, timeloops, mickey mouse is there, the main character goes deep into a dangerous facility to search for someone, also mother has a ‘ive done this countless times before’ before getting bodied by a college student HEHEHE)

Sorry, you have probably answered this yourself already, but I want to ask since, I haven't found it: Would you become a replika?

Oooobh, that's a toughie. If I didn't have to be part of the Eusan Nation, I'd say yeah. I think between being able to switch out modules (won't need glasses) and being able to literally download things into my brain (studying would be a breeze!), plus of course the ability to clot near-fatal to fatal wounds with spray, it seems like it's more optimal than my fleshy, slow-healing body that needs to reread one page 50 times to remember half of it in a week.

There is of course degradation. After a while my life would blur between MY life and my template's life. But I already have memory issues; my life IS a blur, plus I'm about as sharp as drywall so I can't really tell half of what happened in a day, much less a week back- so that's not really a drawback.

But lets assume I was part of the Eusan nation? That's hard. Degradation is harder to deal with since I'd get decomissioned. Only ARAR units really get away with it in-canon since they just hide and enforcement is discouraged from finding them. I doubt I'd get that treatment. Plus, If my efficiency declines- decomissioning. Of course, I still do get the benefits of being a replika. Also, we're assuming I'm stuck in the nation anyway: Then the question is "youre a citizen of the Eusan nation. Would you rather be a replika or gestalt?" I'd still say replika since, while yeah; I could easily get decomissioned as a replika, a gestalt has mandatory service in an evidently brutal war (what war isn't brutal?), replikas get designated fetish objects AND rations, no military service save for combat replikas, and generally are treated better. I'd still be a slave, like a gestalt, but a well-treated one. Overall quality of life would be better.

In short, yeah, I'd be a replika.
