I re-scored scenes from the series finale of Star Trek: Picard using a piece from the Next Generation episode “The Best of Both Worlds” and a piece from the Picard episode “Disengage.”
i really like the batarde script for anything related to the cabinet of dr. caligari because it looks a bit like a mixture of dr. caligari's handwriting and the intertitles + grotesque
[image id: 2 lines of black batarde script on white graph paper. the first line reads "Das Cabinet des Doktor Caligari" and the second line reads "a film in 6 Acts" end id]
To whoever composed the music for death’s scene in dead boy detectives (I believe it was Blake Neely but don’t quote me on that) hats off.
I suspect you couldn’t use “a kind word and a friendly face” (her theme in the sandman) because of copyright or some similar issue, but you got the vibe and the feel of the music exactly right whilst also making it not the same
I Rescored both endings from The Giggle and for this one i had to search a bit longer for a piece of other music but i think what i did found fits, A Good Man? Twelve's Theme is the one i picked, hope you enjoy. 😁🎶
Giving this weeks coveted edible music time slot to my third listen of the rise and fall of a midwest princess lets see what the edible does to this album
as much as I love the Messiah, there are definitely parts which are a bit boring and Händel has just stretched it out for too long and repeats the phrase over and over and idk if this was supposed to be an opportunity for vocalists to demonstrate their virtuosity and add embellishments so typical of the baroque. but it's boring. move on we get the point. and then. then. we get to "...the chastisement, the chastisement of our peace was upon him" and it's simply the most beautiful harmony and the way the voices echo each other and weave together, oh, how wonderful those few bars are ! but Händel just moves past it. we don't get to bask in it, or savour it. it's like the clouds part allowing but for the briefest moment the sun to shine through, and then we're back to wading through numerous repetitions of "and with his stripes we are healèd" urgh
My red-hot, totally-still-relevant Digimon take for the day is that Kizuna TOTALLY missed an opportunity to use Offenbach’s “Le Papillon” as a motif during the battle scenes and that's a real shame, because a) classical music in Digimon whips ass, and b) there is one section of the score (Act 2, Scene 1, Part 3) that would have been perfect for this purpose.
@a-molecular-machine said that this piece i wrote entirely consisting of a billion cheesy guitar loops sounded like listening to 5 infomercials at once. so i downloaded a 2001 Hyundai commercial and slapped it on top with no edits. it works so, so much better than it has any right to.
man collegeboard is greedy as shit. "wanna take this test? give us money. wanna see what you answered on the test? give us money" brother. i just wanna see the bullshit i wrote why are you charging me...
Spoiler Alert for Rainbow Six: Extraction (Not really spoilers, since this was made from trailers)
Content warnings: Violence, loud noises, bit of goo/blood
Game: Rainbow Six: Extraction
Song: "Good to Meet You, General" from the Splinter Cell: Blacklist soundtrack
Side note: This is technically the second time that I reused a song between edits, the first being the Puss in Boots edit. Additionally, this edit is much more of a trailer re-scoring than a full on game focused edit.
