@resilientcreativespodcast is a project that began to develop in my mind during the winter of 2019. I was at a new fork in the road with my creativity after having to backtrack and find rediscover my truth. Grief, concussion & doubt circled through my being. I had been in similar states in the past but something was different this time. My relationship with my practice was strong enough to feel a new sense of pleasure while riding through the waves of the decaying process. For the first time I knew I was in a temporary state. I sensed an unnamed process unfolding and I knew I wasn't alone in this process. I began to talk to others who had committed themselves to path of being an artist. @resilientcreatives is a new podcast coming to life! Expect interviews of emerging, professional & retired artists. About both their work & the trials, tribulations & triumphs on their path. Offering an outlet for stories of how people overcame their obstacles related to heritage, generational wounds, mental health, addictions, lack of community support & confidence while pursuing the arts professionally or using it for therapeutic benefits. @resilientcreatives will create an environment where art & artists are valued! Are you ready to show up and see what you are made of? We may not know what we are creating but let's start again anyway. Start with self care. Start with family care. This may be as far as you get today and that's the ok. Ready, willing and able to go deeper? It's can be as simple as having an intention and doing the work. Yet, if you are rusty or battling life's hurdles. The idea of beginning can be daunting. Some days I only get as far as standing in front of my work space and feeling uninspired my the mess. But even this is a step towards creativity. Shit, it took me a year to figure out the best location for me to work. Our brains love to jump ahead and define how we will spend our time. Often we are thinking about steps 56789. When the first step is just showing up. But like really showing up, the raw you, without any distractions. Leaving your ideas at the door.
