PICK A CARD: What Era Is Your Beauty From?
☯︎ “A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul.” ― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Disclaimer: This is a general reading, take what resonates. I am not suggesting any of these descriptions are cannon to your ancestral history, these are just how my intuition perceived, and then presented your beauty’s energy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
p1 → p2 ↙︎ p3 → p4
🂽 Pile One 🂽 (the devil, 2oC rev., ace of cups rev., 4oW, 3oC, king of swords, the tower, the world)
❖ Pile one, I feel like I’m watching the Game of Thrones out of context. Just flashes of people from around the Medieval 1400s living their day-to-day; singing, dancing, eating together, and then… not.
❖ The imagery I got when I asked what era your beauty came from, was very longing in nature. There was a lot of joy and celebration but it felt like I was watching the film through teary eyes and a heavy heart.
❖ The “movie” flashed between a thriving culture sharing tales of triumph and having happy, drunk sing-song moments together; and then those same people under a war-torn regime of a very cruel but powerful man. I sense themes of religious persecution, nationwide government-forced famine, and general desecration of the once-peaceful way of life. The population was going through collective mourning.
❖ People lamented over their unfulfillable desire to reconnect with their homeland and all of their loved ones. With the World card at the end of the spread and the Empress at the bottom of the deck, I get the clear image that your beauty is the physical embodiment of a large collective’s longing for the sanctity of their community. You invoke that feeling people get when they remember a bitter-sweet memory that hums fervor in their chest and gives them the fire they need to push forward.
❖ Your beauty comes from an era where the genuine smile and cheer of a pretty girl sparked a nation’s hope for reformation. You are the last remaining connection to long-lost celebration and the heart of a forgotten city.
How Do You Paint The Divine Image of Hope?
Tumblr media
🂽 Pile Two 🂽 (7oC rev., 4oP rev., full moon, leo, sacral chakra)
❖ WHOOOAAaaaaa Ammberrr is the collluuhhhhh of ya enneergyyy!! WHOoaaA, shades of gaawwllddd displayyy naturraalllyyyyyy…..
❖ Just know I was HOLLERING that. This is my hippie pile. My people. Yea that’s right, I’m talking the late 1960s - early 1970s.
❖ Your beauty arose at a time when society desperately needed color (specifically seeing some of you wearing a lot of bright colors or eye-catching jewelry or hairstyles). The world was bleak and the war’s aftermath on the overall mental and emotional welfare of the general public pushed people to radical ideals and birthed a revolution centered around liberation, pleasure, and community.
❖ Your beauty is all sunshine and rainbows. Psychedelics and organic food. The best music in human history (feel free to argue with me, but know that it is going straight out the other ear, mama) and week-long outdoor festivals full of peace, love, and vulnerability with total strangers.
❖ Your beauty brushes people with the chilling winds of shameless pleasure. The taste of unadulterated personal freedom that is almost a societal taboo. Your beauty is so purely liberating.
❖ Lmao, I imagine a guitar riff going off everytime you walk into a room.
❖ You are the physical embodiment of eccentric love and vivacious rebellion.
Play That Funky Music
Tumblr media
🂽 Pile Three 🂽 (The lovers rev., the High Priestess rev., Ace of Swords., 4oC. 7)
❖ Revolution is a running theme for all of the piles. This collective’s beauty awakens people.
❖ I’m seeing a brilliant man going mad at the lack of creative intelligence around him and pushing for societal rebirth. A complete cultural shift from the Dark Ages (pile one), to modernity. This is my Renaissance pile.
❖ You embody the mystical fusion of art, religion, architecture, and science. You are all the world’s intrinsic beauty rolled up into one figure. You are the art that attracts painters, inventors, and philosophers alike.
❖ You have the beauty of an all-around muse. You invoke the spirit of creative passion. It is like people see you and get a stroke of inspiration. Something that kicks them in the ass and tells them to go outside and create.
❖ This pile is very romantic. A classical beauty, like red roses and bottle poems. The universal innate desire to dream big.
❖ Shoutout to my Aquarians, 11th housers, and Shatabhisha natives.
The Medieval-Modern Muse
Tumblr media
🂽 Pile Four 🂽 (king of pentacles, 2oP, 5oP rev., 9oP)
❖ OKAY PLOTWIST?? I don’t know what era this pile’s beauty is from because it’s set in the future.
❖ It’s funny how the last piles were all set in periods of revolution (putting in the WORK) and your pile, the final pile, is set in a better world full of financial stability, the end of inequality, economic fairness, and universal abundance (the fruits of the labor).
❖ Dude, I was trying to read the message at first and was just scratching my head. I was like, “When has anywhere, literally ever been this good???” Then I saw the ace of wands reversed at the bottom of the deck and saw impending change and it clicked.
❖ I also saw some star semblance, and see that your beauty is a reminder to mankind that the “impossible” is already set in motion. The hell we have created will crumble.
❖ You are a physical embodiment of society’s future triumph. You radiate wealth and fairness. My Venusians, especially Libra. You also look regal, something about you makes people want to stand taller.
❖ You got the pride card, I see that you give people the feeling of victory. You are living proof of future triumph in a better world where greed and sorrow are eradicated.
❖ You are the harbinger of the next era.

New fan here!! What exactly happened at pro rev? I see people talk about it a lot but I can't find out exactly what went down
Lol I love seeing this question asked on my dash and thank you for trusting me with the response. This kinda became longer than what I was expecting but I love to over explain sorry:
Okay so pro rev is kinda famous in the fan community because of how insane everyone seemed to have been acting during it. mcr was always known for their stage antics - even in the early days - and specifically for how they responded to homophobia (and to be clear- they faced a lot of it) by not denying being gay, but encouraging the idea. Specifically Gerard and Frank would kiss each other or Gerard would kinda feel-up the other guys in what people coined as “stagegay”. Although mcr fans were kinda weeded out to expect and accept this, festivals like Warped Tour were always the biggest issue for them because they were in front of thousands of people who didn’t necessarily want to see guys in eyeliner and eyeshadow*.
Then comes 2007 - Linkin Park hosts another “Projekt Revolution” which was kinda a mini traveling festival with about 10 or so bands in the lineup and would run from July 25th to September 3rd. Mcr was actually second bill so while not nobodies, most of the audience still consisted of Linkin Park fans. I know nothing about the music or guys of Linkin Park, but they simply attracted a different kind of crowd and might have heckled mcr more than a mcr-headlining show. The guys really played this up and seemed to turn up the stage antics A LOT. (I say ‘seemed to’ because I do think the number of people in attendance and the fact more people had access to digital cameras in 2007 than 2004 might have just resulted in more examples being recorded and uploaded)
They were grinding on each other, chewing on condoms, licking each other, fake masturbating, fully making out, and fighting on one occasion. Gerard would ask the boys in the audience to take their shirts off during Prison to which Ray joined in once. Frank specifically was acting kinda wild and was just commonly writhing around on the floor and flinging his guitar a lot. The main famous “frerard kiss” was said (by Gerard) to be the result of Frank rubbing his bloody finger on Gerard’s face and Gerard opting to seek revenge by kissing him.
The funniest part of all this is that it could theoretically be explained away by the fact they were probably just frustrated from being away from their families on tour for so long at this point (notably, Mikey did not attend prorev because of his recent marriage and/or mental health issues) if it weren't for the fact that at the start of tour Gerard began dating Lindsey (m. Ballato) who played bass in another band. Gerard was seen watching her play a few times and the couple would also have matching slogans written on their bodies (presumably by each other). The couple then got married on the last night of tour by an ordained member of the crew backstage while wearing matching airbrush unicorn shirts with each other's names. This was all very sudden for fans especially because it was only around May of the same year when Gerard is thought to have broke off an engagement with his ex girlfriend.
Another notable point is that this was the first time mcr had two tour buses because Frank brought his WIFE. I don't see a lot of people pointing this out, but I believe Jamia was there. Also Frank appeared on an episode of Kat Von D's tattooing show in the middle of tour lol
The aftermath of the tour has kinda become equally as famous due to rumors and theories. Specifically the fight has been speculated to be the result of deeper drama where people think Frank was hurt by Gerard's new relationship or whatever. All that is speculation and mostly baseless. Bottom line is this did influence a ton of fanfiction and kinda made the band known for their stage behavior. They really calmed down on the more homoerotic aspects of their stage personas in later years which more conspiratorial fans contribute to Gerard's marriage. More likely is that they realized the intended reaction of pissing homophobes off was being lost, and instead people were into and sexualizing it more than anything. Gerard once tweeted about it.
I think it's all very funny because to be honest and until they talk about it in any meaningful detail, we still have no idea what going on with them. Just a fun period in mcr herstory.
Links to magazines covering the tour:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
Other stuff I couldn't think of a place to mention:
David Cassidy
Gerard singing Umbrella
"it's like having buttsex"
gerard hugging worm
infamous hickey gerard had that he tried to cover with a bandana
Gerard on "my super sweet 16" in the middle of tour
____
*That's not to say mcr was facing the most discrimination ever at this show. I have no knowledge of how people who were outwardly lgbt (such as Brian Molko of Placebo) were treated. Also it's important to note that there was a severe lack of racial and gender diversity when it came to this tour's lineup. There was not a single band with a non-white front person and only 1 band with any women in it.

HOW DO WE measure the impact of a musician in 2023? Streams can be bought. Awards can be finessed. Is it when demand for show tickets leads to a congressional hearing about Ticketmaster’s policies? Or when flight attendants shout out a fanbase making a pilgrimage to see a tour opener? Or when TikToks of merch inspirations and setlist predictions rack up millions of views? Nearly a decade ago, a headline ran declaring ‘Taylor Swift Is The Music Industry’ and those with even the slightest pulse on pop culture can tell she’s only grown more omnipresent since. It all led to a warm evening in Glendale, Arizona where months after delivering her most commercially-successful album to date, Midnights, Swift debuted a discography-spanning setlist that lasted over three hours and kicked off an aptly-named stadium run. The Eras Tour has arrived.
The sheer length of the set is a feat, but not completely surprising considering the breadth of catalog at Swift’s disposal. Watching the 12-time Grammy winner take the stage right at 8pm, and continue past 11pm triggers the often overused cliché: Who’s doing it like her?
After night had fallen and GAYLE and Paramore revved the crowd up with a mix of recent chart-toppers (GAYLE’s “abcdefu”) and cultural anthems (Paramore’s “Misery Business”), it was time for the main event. At 7:57pm, a timer appeared on a massive screen prompting screams from all corners of State Farm Stadium. Lesley Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me” played as fans braced themselves for the arrival of Swift. When the timer hit 0:00, the house we’d seen in the “Lover” music video assembled on the screen, indicating that this evening was first and foremost about reviving the feelings each era evoked.
“So tonight, we’re going to be going through an adventure, one era at a time,” Swift said. “We’re going to be exploring the last seventeen years of music that I’ve been lucky enough to make and you’ve been kind enough to care about.”
It’s easy to compare one of Swift’s stadium shows to something you’d see on Broadway — never has that been more true than for The Eras Tour. The setlist is cut up into acts, grouped together by eras for each of Swift’s ten studio albums. For each era/act, Swift went full-send into that album’s look, feel, costume, color blocking, and more.
Many eras got a few songs. At one moment, it seemed like Swift’s soft spot for Folklore would mean we’d hear the entire album. On the opposite end, Speak Now’s part of the show was short but impactful. Swift played only one song from her third studio album, “Enchanted,” while wearing a stunning floor-length ballroom gown designed by Nicole + Derr. Hopping from act to act, Swift made it extremely clear when she’s taking the audience out of one era and into another. This isn’t a hastily put together setlist with a vague thread of connective tissue — Swift is taking her audience on a nostalgic extravaganza.
For both Swift and her fans, it’s been a long road to get to The Eras Tour kickoff. Friday night’s opener was four projects, millions of record sales, and over 1,500 days removed from the last tour stop on the Reputation stadium tour in 2018. Plus, who can forget the Ticketmaster fiasco in handling the sale of The Eras Tour tickets, which not only prompted an apology to Swift from the ticketing monopoly but also for Congress to investigate.
In perhaps a sympathetic nod to the canceled Lover Fest, Swift began the festivities with the Lover era. Wearing a jaw-dropping Versace bodysuit, Swift launched into “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince” for the opening number. Swifties eager to see “Cruel Summer” live weren’t disappointed, as Swift strutted down the catwalk towards the stadium’s center, belting out the fast-paced bridge eager to deliver what stans had snatched away from them due to pandemic-related cancellations.
For “The Man,” Swift completed her Versace look with a blazer and made sure everyone could see the red bottoms when she kicked her feet up on a conference room table as she delivered the masterfully written and scathing assessment of gender inequality in pop culture. Swift closed out the Lover era act with “You Need to Calm Down” and “The Archer,” the latter getting a beautifully stripped down rendition so Swift’s vocals echoed across the stadium: “Because all of my enemies started out friends / Help me hold onto you.”
At one point, as Swift ran through hits from her Fearless era, she flashed a smile and announced to the crowd that she was taking us back to high school with her. The nostalgia seeped into the show, resulting in some of the loudest crowd participation yet, especially from those old enough to have grown up with Swift and were in high school at the same time she was. The singer ran through “Fearless,” “You Belong With Me,” and “Love Story,” reminding us of a time when we discovered the pop phenomenon unbeknownst to the level of celebrity she’d achieve.
Something about Swift — she’s online. If the fact that she decided to end last night with the TikTok-friendly “Karma” doesn’t make that obvious enough, her joke about disliking Evermore hammers home the point.
“We’re currently in the middle of the Evermore album, which is an album I absolutely love despite what some of you say on TikTok,” Swift said with a grin.
Later on in the act reserved for her ninth studio album, in line with how theatrical the event was, Swift set up a beautiful dinner setting only to deliver a heart-wrenching rendition of “Tolerate It.” She also performed “Tis the Damn Season,” “Willow,” “Marjorie,” and “Champagne Problems,” giving fans a sizable taste of the Evermore live experience they weren’t able to receive when the project came out in 2020.
For the acts dedicated to Reputation and Red, fans were treated to a masterclass in visuals and hitmaking, two key elements that has assured Swift prolonged success for as long as she’s had it. The powerful, striking, snake motifs were an awesome callback for fans who attended the Reputation tour.
For Red, Swift went through “22,” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” and “I Knew You Were Trouble. She closed out the act with a beautiful performance of the 10-minute “Taylor’s Version” of “All Too Well.” In the evening’s most ethereal moment, small white confetti made to look like snow blanketed the State Farm Stadium as she neared the end of her magnum opus, singing “Because in this city’s barren cold/I still remember the first fall of snow/And how it glistened how it fell/I remember it all too well.” Not only is Swift a savant for world-building, but she’s perfected the ability to translate those worlds into the live experience.
Swift wasn’t shy about making sure people got the full Folklore live experience. A makeshift cabin, not unlike the one made during Swift’s 2021 Grammys performance, sat on the stage with Swift perched on it during “Invisible String.” The star also discussed how she finally got comfortable crafting narratives for purely fictional characters, rather than ripping them from the headlines about her life.
“Folklore was such a different album for me. I start writing it about two seconds into the pandemic. I was just so very aware of how much time I was going to have to spend away from you,” Swift explained before launching into “Betty,” “The Last Great American Dynasty,” “August,” “Illicit Affairs,” “My Tears Ricochet,” and “Cardigan.” “With this album, I thought it would be so fun to create characters, and storylines, and they can live in different times, and then can do all of these things, and they could fall in love and hurt each other and go to war”
1989’s era act turned the party up and restored the energy, with Swift donning a Roberto Cavalli top and skirt and going through “Style,” “Blank Space,” “Shake It Off,” “Wildest Dreams,” and “Bad Blood.”
To cap off the evening, Swift returned to Midnights, performing album highlights “Lavender Haze,” “Mastermind,” and more. It was hard to ignore the immense gratitude the singer continued to exude throughout the evening, with the “thank yous” coming more and more often the closer she got to the end.
Eventually, the singer asked the crowd if they had time for one more and launched into her finale, “Karma,” a track with a passionate chorus that’s begging to be scream-sung in a room of about 60,000 who’ve been waiting for this exact moment for years. Maybe it’s fitting that an artist who’s had more than her fair share of ups and downs, and at times has been the most polarizing musician alive, ends her stadium tour opener with a song about how she can finally protect her peace. Karma’s a relaxing thought, indeed.
The Eras Tour is a feat. It’s live music at its highest spectacle and greatest excess. And for most, without the catalog and showmanship of Swift, it’d be too much. But 17 years into her career, maybe we ought to stop being surprised when she finds a way to top her own efforts year after year. Towards the end of Paramore’s set, Swift’s good friend Hayley Williams said we had gathered that evening to celebrate Swift’s incredible career. There’s something funny about a greatest hits concert for someone who’s never been more in her prime, isn’t there?

Michael Babatunde Olatunji (April 7, 1927 – April 6, 2003) was a Nigerian drummer, educator, social activist, and recording artist.
He was born in the village of Ajido in southwestern Nigeria. A member of the Ogu people, he was introduced to traditional African music at an early age. His name, Bàbátúndé, means ‘father has returned’, because he was born two months after his father, Zannu died, and he was considered to be a reincarnation. His father was a local fisherman who was about to rise to the rank of chieftain, and his mother was a potter who was a member of the Ogu people. He grew up speaking the Gun (Ogu/Egun) and Yoruba languages. He was groomed to take the position of chief.
When he was 12, he realized that he did not want to become a chieftain. He read in Reader’s Digest magazine about the Rotary International Foundation’s scholarship program and applied for it. His application was successful and he went to the US in 1950.
He received a Rotary scholarship in 1950 and was educated at Morehouse College. He was a good friend of Glee Club director Dr. Wendell P. Whalum and collaborated with him on a staple of the choir’s repertoire, “Betelehemu”. After graduating from Morehouse, he went on to New York University to study public administration. He started a small percussion group to earn money on the side while he continued his studies.
He composed music for the Broadway theatrical and the 1961 Hollywood film productions of Raisin in the Sun. He assisted Bill Lee with the music for She’s Gotta Have It.
He was known for making an impassioned speech for social justice before performing in front of a live audience. His progressive political beliefs are outlined in The Beat of My Drum: An Autobiography. He toured the South with Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and joined King in the March on Washington.
He performed before the UN General Assembly. He was one of the first outside performers to perform in Prague. On July 21, 1979, he appeared at the Amandla Festival. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence

10 Beautiful Vocabulary for the Navratri Celebration
Tumblr media
Navratri Spirit: Honoring Goddess Durga
Tumblr media
The vibrant spirit of India comes alive during Navratri, a nine-day festival that resonates with faith, festivity, and cultural grandeur. As the name suggests, "Nav" means nine and "Ratri" means nights. This festival is a joyous period steeped in beautiful traditions and customs. Let's delve into the dazzling world of Navratri with some exquisite vocabulary to enrich your understanding of this spectacular celebration.
1. Auspicious (au-spish-us)
Tumblr media
Navratri is considered an extremely auspicious time. "Auspicious" signifies an occasion filled with good fortune and blessings. Devotees believe that prayers and observances undertaken during these nine nights hold special significance and bring prosperity.
2. Reverence (rev-er-ence)
Tumblr media
The nine days of Navratri are dedicated to worshipping the nine divine forms of Goddess Durga. "Reverence" refers to the deep respect and devotion offered to the Goddess. Hindus across the world observe pujas (prayers) and rituals with utmost reverence, seeking the blessings of Durga for strength, wisdom, and protection.
3. Panoply (pan-o-ply)
Tumblr media
Navratri is a visual feast for the senses. Homes and pandals (temporary shrines) are adorned with vibrant decorations, creating a dazzling "panoply" of colors and textures. Imagine intricate rangolis (floor art), strings of marigolds, and shimmering diyas (lamps) – a true spectacle of beauty.
4. Ethereal (ee-the-ri-al)
Tumblr media
The atmosphere during Navratri is charged with a sense of otherworldly beauty. "Ethereal" describes something delicate and heavenly, and this perfectly captures the feeling one gets amidst the chants, devotional music, and the gentle flickering of diya flames.
5. Resplendent (ri-splen-dent)
Tumblr media
Devotees dress up in their finest attire during Navratri. "Resplendent" signifies being magnificently beautiful and radiant. Imagine sarees in rich silks, adorned with intricate jewellery – a dazzling display of cultural resplendence.
6. Gastronomical (gas-tro-no-mi-cal)
Tumblr media
Navratri is a time to indulge in delicious vegetarian fare. "Gastronomical" refers to the art of good eating, and Navratri offers a plethora of delectable dishes specially prepared for the occasion. Think of flavorful sweets like halwa and savoury dishes like sabudana khichdi – a true treat for the taste buds.

7. Jubilant (joo-bi-lant)
Tumblr media
The spirit of Navratri is infectious. The air is filled with the sounds of laughter, music, and joyous celebrations. "Jubilant" describes a feeling of great happiness and triumph, perfectly capturing the mood of this vibrant festival.
8. Propitious (pro-pish-us)
Tumblr media
The tenth day after Navratri, Dussehra, marks the victory of good over evil. "Propitious" signifies favorable or auspicious. Dussehra is seen as a day that ushers in good times and eliminates negativity.
9. Confluence (con-flu-ence)
Tumblr media
Navratri transcends religious boundaries and brings people together. "Confluence" signifies a flowing together, and this beautifully captures the spirit of the festival. People from all walks of life come together to celebrate, share stories, and strengthen community bonds.
10. Euphoria (yoo-for-ee-ah)
Tumblr media
Navratri leaves a lasting impression. "Euphoria" describes a feeling of intense happiness and excitement. The festival leaves devotees feeling uplifted, inspired, and carrying the positive energy forward throughout the year.
Beyond the Words: The Enchantment of Navratri
These words merely offer a glimpse into the magic of Navratri. The true essence of the festival lies in experiencing it firsthand. The aroma of incense filling the air, the rhythmic beats of the dhol (drum), the vibrant colours, and the feeling of community – all contribute to creating an unforgettable experience.
So, if you have the opportunity to witness Navratri, embrace it with open arms. Let yourself be enveloped by the joyous spirit, savour the delicious food, and appreciate the beauty of this time-honoured tradition. You might discover a new facet of Indian culture and return home with a heart brimming with "euphoria."

2017 Napa Valley A Cappella Extravaganza — VoicePlay live performances

Three years after their previous appearance, VoicePlay returned to northern California as the professional headliners for the annual high school and collegiate vocal festival in Yountville.

When you're singing for other a cappella singers, it's hard to go wrong with a little musical theater. VoicePlay has plenty of Broadway material in their repertoire, and this was the most recent addition at the time.
Details:
title: Seasons of Love
original performers: cast of Rent (1996)
written by: Jonathan Larson
arranged by: VoicePlay & AJ Rafael
performance date: 28 January 2017
My favorite bits:
J.None's smooth timbre on the opening lines
the way they seamlessly pass the lead vocals around (But why doesn't Layne get a turn? 😞)
that momentary silence before they start the first chorus
when the rhythm section really kicks in 🥁🎸
Earl's crystal clear high tone on the second verse
that jazzy harmonized riff from Eli, J, and Earl
the layers of sound in the final chorus
such a lovely ending chord
Trivia:
As Geoff mentions in the intro, the guys had recorded this song as a collaboration with AJ Rafael in October, and the video premiered on his YouTube channel a couple weeks before this performance.

VoicePlay refuse to be confined to any one genre of music. They've tackled everything from barbershop to hard rock, country to sea shanties, pop ballads to orchestral pieces. So why not revisit the rap hits of their youth?

performance date: 28 January 2017
My favorite bits:
Layne kicking things off with some old school beatboxing
Earl recreating the breathy part in "Push It"
Eli handling the scratching in the back during "Parents"
the middle three busting some lowkey moves as the lyrics instruct them to do
everybody bouncing to the beat during "Tricky"
Geoff continuing the "Ice Ice Baby" bass line under "The Humpty Dance" after the other guys leave him hanging
Eli showing off some slides in "Rapper's Delight"
J's little wave in response to the "hello" in the lyrics
the record skip effect at the end of "Walk This Way"
Trivia:
The guys originally recorded this countdown live in the studio, where they could do as many takes as they wanted. It's even more impressive seeing them perform it in front of an audience.

This video is missing the very beginning because the fan who recorded it got over-excited about them actually performing the song live. But how could they possibly resist singing the theme to one of the most beloved TV shows set in San Francisco when they were just north the city itself?
Details:
title: Everywhere You Look
original performers: Carly Rae Jepsen & Butch Walker for Fuller House (2016)
written by: Jesse Frederick, Bennett Salvay, & Jeff Franklin for Full House (1987)
arranged by: Layne Stein
performance date: 28 January 2017
My favorite bits:
the bouncy descending bass line leading into the chorus
Eli and J grooving along to their own harmonies
Earl's scooping crescendo as a transition into the second verse
the call and response of ♫ "never go away" ♫ "like the Olsen twins" ♫ 👭
that quick crisp diction of the ♫ "how do you know… " ♫ section
hearing a few audience members shout "Hey!" in time with the guys
that big coordinated descending riff at the end
Trivia:
This song was the second entry in VoicePlay's PartWork series, performed entirely by multiple versions of Earl and Layne.

Before they flew out of San Francisco the next day, J.None took a side trip to meet up with a friend, see a bit of the city, and get some fresh air.

is that like prorev?
ok so the "rev" in both does stand for revolution so i will give you this but no. projekt revolution was a touring music festival hosted by linkin park while the american revolution was a war for the thirteen colonies' independence from great britain. its easy to get them mixed up though! :)

@headstrongblake said: [ THUMB ] : sender gently runs their thumb across receiver's lips before leaning in to kiss them / nick & kass, never seen a more nick vibe omg
this was the life. everything she needed and more. everything they all deserved after the shit storm and hell they all had lived through the past year. the best birthday getaway she could have asked for. being able to lay on one of those giant circular outdoor beds that was half sheltered from the sun, the soft sound of the ocean in the distance, the trickling of the waterfall that connected to the pool. the sounds of the jungle echoing with the music made by the birds and critters around them, and yet she was surrounded by luxury, and her favourite people (...and grant).
with all festivities done for the day, the group had the rest of the afternoon to enjoy themselves until dinner and kassy was deeply enjoying her time to recharge, napping between drinks and snacks, chatting and lounging against whoever joined her. having just had a masterful massage that was hosted here, she was beyond relaxed, resting on her front with her head delicately against a pillow she hugged as the sun beat down on the back of her. it was nick now who settled down beside her and at the smoothing touch of his hand along her warm shoulder and back, a happy hum escaped before she lifted her head to turn and glance over at him with a sleepy smile. "hi there handsome," she practically purred as he laid down next to her, enjoying the run of his hand as he gently brushed her braids from her back.
her smile grew as he spoke to her, she noticed that octavia and grant were no where to be found and nick explained that rev had taken the others on a little hike down to the beach so it was just the two of them. a brow rose at that, unsure if he meant that bit of information to be as suggestive as she took it. she shifted if just onto her side to face him better, dark eyes sparkling as his hand slowly trailed up her shoulder to trace along her cheek. it was becoming increasingly common for her to allow him to touch her more freely, especially when she was in the languid state she was now, enjoying it all too much. lashes fluttered as a soft sigh escaped her, followed by a slow growing smile as she looked up at him. it was nice to see him relaxing too, for their troubles to be left behind, and seeing the lightness in those beautiful blue eyes as he took her in, she truly did adore him.
though with the gently brush of his thumb now along her lips, lust began to slowly trickle through her, her dark eyes sparkling with desire as she watched him under her lashes. how his gaze dropped to watch as her lips parted and her smile curled at the corners. she playfully caught his thumb between her teeth as their eyes met once again and it took everything in her not to reach up and grab a fistful of his shirt to pull him down to kiss him. instead, she allowed him to be the one as she released his thumb with a quick swipe of her tongue before he leaned in, hand going to cup her face as he kissed her. her eyes closed as she kissed him back, that lazy passion slowly growing even more in the pit of her stomach.
playfully, she bit his bottom lip, leaning back with that lazy cheshire smile as it slid free. "i'm glad you came," she told him sincerely, smile growing softer. after everything they'd been through recently, and whether or not she would openly admit it or not, kassy needed him. she wasn't sure this trip could have been as healing as it was without his presence.

ATEEZ make history as the first K-Pop boy group to perform at Coachella
The history-makers will head to Coachella this spring.
Tumblr media
ATEEZ‘s Hongjoong, Seongwha, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung and Jongho are marking the beginning of their fifth year as a band with a huge milestone achievement. Riding the wave of their album THE WORLD EP. FIN: WILL scoring them their first number one album on the US Billboard 200 chart, ATEEZ have now been announced as the first K-pop boy band in history to perform at Coachella music festival. The eight-piece group are in good company with their peers this year, as K-pop girl group Le Sserafim are also on the lineup for the April 12th and 19th dates, headlined by Lana Del Rey. K-rock band The Rose will follow up, scheduled for the April 14th and 21st slots of the Californian music festival.
Tumblr media
ATEEZ’ number one album has plenty of festival-worthy tracks on it, but it’s almost certain that their emphatic lead track Crazy Form will make it to their set list. Hongjoong’s commanding ‘get up’ intro and Yeosang’s catchy growlingly low verse always gets their crowds revved up, along with the track being packed with viral choreography, such as Seonghwa’s bunny ears move and Wooyoung’s mid-air twerk. As well as their new song, there will hopefully be some favourites from their entire discography such as De Ja Vu, HALAZIA, Bouncy and of course, Guerrilla. If the latter is performed, American ATINY (ATEEZ’ fandom) will have to warm up their vocal chords. During the song, Yunho asks the crowd to ‘Make some noise’ which activates an earsplitting fan-chant of ‘break the wall’ that has been so loud in the past, that it could be heard from outside of the arenas that they perform in (European ATINY, we’re looking at you in Madrid.) The desert crowd are going to be treated to some impossibly high notes from Jongho, explosive dancing from San and some lightning-fast staccato rapping from Mingi. Their high energy performances will fit perfectly before mellowing out as the sun goes down in the desert for a dreamy Lana Del Rey set.

Forest Rituals, by Aaryn S. Ricucci-Hill (score follower)

Forest Rituals, a trio for flute, cello and piano (2016/ rev. '18)
Note: My name has changed to 'Aaryn' since uploading this video.
____________________________
The piece centers around the idea of a pagan ritual at the time of sunset and moonrise. In the midst of a wooded landscape, drawing on the energies of the wild surrounding them, there is singing, dancing, and chanting; full of life, energy, and reverence. On a personal note: Forest Rituals, to me, also represents something of new beginnings as well. This piece was a turning point in my own musical style which saw a great personal growth upon returning from France. It was one of the first pieces I revised using what I learned from the Zodiac Music Academy and Festival and was also my first real "award-winning" composition.
This is the premiere recording of Forest Rituals, which won 3rd in the Abundant Silence Composition Competition and received its US premiere in Denver, CO in January 2018. The piece received its world premiere at the 2016 Zodiac Music Academy and Festival in La Bolline in Valdeblore, France on July, 14th, 2016.
Sonya Yeager-Meeks (flute), Richard von Foerster (cello), Josh Sawicki (piano) of the Playground Ensemble, live recording from Abundant Silence New Works Concert (January 27th, 2018.)
