Assumptions? Well, I think you tend to read a lot of webcomics and probably played Neopets or some other creature collector in the past a lot.
Had free access the internet, as a kid, and liked to play flash games.
From the softness of your artstyle, I actually think you are someone who is quite squeamish.
These are probably so off. X]
Make assumptions about me from my art style
i do actually read a lot of webtoons nowadays! In the past however? Nope
I used to be kinda into Flight Rising but soon lost the motivation to keep it going; never understood it, but i am indeed a big fan of creature collection one way or another
internet access did start prettyyyyy young; my most played was Club Penguin and a few other games in similar categories (Moshi Monsters a little, that one where everyone had a hover board idr rhe name of) and def a big fan of the old Papas series games
and despite how soft my art is; i am fascinated by fucked up injuries and some of the more gross medical stuff. gore in the way of gruesome detailed deaths and horror are what i generally avoid, but im still pretty interested in what might seem like squeamish stuff in general haha (i put my characters into a lot of fucked up situations either way)

.....im tired
Link to the article
Makes me think that there are so many better ways to spread your message then shocking people in a public space and causing a panic... and getting yourself arrested. Of course sometimes there isnt a choice... but this isnt one of those cases.
This group needs to stop. There are so many more better ways to promote your cause.... that being said it's white activism at it's finest. But it only proves to infuriate me more rather than support these people.
Tumblr media
This kind of activism only inspires copycats, and people looking for a thrill, or people who actually wish to cause actual harm to things within the public eye, specifically things that are well loved or spoken or documented of.
And even if these pieces are replicas put out to protect the originals... this is such a waste of passion that could be redirected in other ways. The museums have already gone to lengths to keep their collections safe... they don't need protesters using them as their focal point. I said it once and i will say it again. Im so tired of people using the shock factor to get their way.
Especially with the digital age and promoting your voice on platforms bigger than yourself. It has been proven that having a positive impact will far outpace a negative impact with charities and organizations. But no. Once again, important topics and environmental emergencies are just written down to shock and awe.
I'll say this now, of course I care about the cause. I have little care for the organizations who keep doing this however. Yeah sure they hit where the money seems to be going... but are you really going to put it down to oil and oil paints? Really? How ingenious. Note the heavy sarcasm there.
I can't help but feel that this is just the excuse private collectors look for with art. They will argue that these pieces arent as safe as they could be in private collections. Which is bullshit because while a fair amount of people do tend to take care of private collections, they will just as often face neglect and destruction.
That's aside from the fact that they would be ON PRIVATE display. Unavailable to the public. Museums are for the purpose of public enjoyment and education. Not to mention inspiration. And before you say, well I could just look the painting up on the internet, yeah you could, but have you actually gone to a museum and compared a digital photo to a physical work of art?
You don't get the detail. You don't get the understanding of just what strokes were put to canvas or wood. There is something different of the clarity, and the vibrance, and rhe depth of color that you just can't quite capture on film without some form of enhancement.
You won't quite understand the time and effort and life that was put into the mastery behind these pieces of art.
So many masters pieces have been lost throughout the annals of time, likely never to be seen again.
We are VERY fortunate to have funders support their local or favorite museums. Fortunate to have passionate people who dedicate their life's work to preserving the quality of the art and restoring it if needs be.
These are masters pieces that are rich in history and time. And now it's not enough for regular museum security to do their jobs and protect and keep the reputations of these museums. Idk if theyre getting bought off or just... whatever... Personally I would rather keep a more optimistic view of people, especially when it is likely they have this job to put food on their table and keep themselves warm. But it happens. And now security will tighten, which means regulations will tighten, which means more restrictions from a public museum, which means a restriction on entertainment and education, which when you think about it, we all know who will get hit first from that.
So yeah. I support the idea of shutting down big polluting oil rigs. And i would gladly support these orgs if they weren't already shady as hell. But like said before. White privelaged stupid activism. There are so many better ways to promote yourself. Especially in the digital age.
Im just glad that they werent permanently damaged, because there has been so much history of intentional damage and theft in the art community. And then people come in boasting how they are experts in their field and ruin a piece further. Sorry... i was one of the people who actually cared about my art history class in high school.
Feel free to add anything below. And correct me if I am wrong. But if you do, please, be kind to other people. I don't want wars waging in my comments. I doubt this will circulate much but... here's to wishful thinking.

SO SO SOOO. in the new episode of toh :] belos is basically slop and ummm he possesses raine to manipulate the collector. what if instead of raine....
reagan is possibly distracted and while the rest of rhe hexsquad is marvelling over luz's palisman, reagan is looking around, and belos gets to her and possesses her !!!
and he follows along everyone else like normal and camila's like "oh! you're back!" thinking its her WIFE and she kisses possessed reagan on the cheek and takes her hand and is like "come look at luz's palisman :)"
AND LATER ONNN!!!!
they find out it's belos because he says something that's not natural for reagan!!!
maybe luz is talking to "reagan" and "reagan" responds with something concerning, and luz REALIZES!!!!
OOOH

"ahh.. H..hnngh.. Sayakaaa-shan..! C..could i p..pleashe have an authograph.. H..hnrgh.."
Tumblr media
Its rhe usual sight of sayaka's concerts.. Both idols and spectators alike.. Mounds of flab unable to waddle around much.. Let alone try to jump or dance to cheer on her idols.. Komaru grabbed a water bottle with sayaka's skinny face on it.. One of the few collectors items.. Since they updated to her new appearance.. The bottle was filled with a thick lard shake..
"Y..you can thakeh.. A shiip.. If.. You whaant shayakah-shaan!.. Huff.. Hnnght.."
The hammy arms of the girl were trembling just keeping the bottle up tired her to no end..
If holding up a flask tired out Makoto's younger sister then imagine how the bluenette beaut must be feeling right now after a show... Every roll of her form slicked with a greasy, unwashed glint as sweat trickled down to the creaking floorboards.
Tumblr media
Giving an acceptive nod before getting a hold of the bottle Sayaka lifted up the container of lard shake the best she could, guzzling the absurdly unhealthy contraption down in one gulp the best she could, some droplets drizzling down her chins before splattering against her breasts.
A refreshed sigh existed her lips before one of her signature belches came rushing through afterward, the idol cutely giggling before looking at one of her fans...
She had only now realized that it was THE Komaru standing in front of her.
"Woohw, Ih... mmmph.. diidn't'sh r-reahlihzeh youu.. hhrgh.... aat'sh... BWOOOOORP!~ aaat'tsh f-fiihrsht, Kohmahruh... Yoouu'vee.. hhhmfh.... reahllyeh chaangeed!.. How'shh t-thihngshh.. hooooh.... bheen?" The star of the show asked as she leaned forward to Ms. Naegi, signing the container all the while before gently handing it back.
... It looks like chicken scratches due to her hammy fingers losing a lot of dexterity because of how bloated they are, but it's still an autograph!

On toys and playing
The older I get the more I think that ultimately all anyone wants to do is play. To be a child again and play with toys or with friends, because the more I think about the more I think how adult pastimes are just children's play made "more acceptable."
You also see this in terms of merchandising, so many companies now have two tranches of toys now: ones explicitly designed for play and ones implicitly for "adult collectors".
They're still basically the same as toys we had in our youth just rebranded. "Star Wars the Vintage Collection", "Star Wars Black Series", premium packaging (and pricing) on products that are essentially newer versions of what kids used to get when the movies first came out. Sometimes literally the same mold repackaged.
Going back to play though, a lot of modern pursuits are just backwards engineering ways to make play acceptable. Video games are just toys you manipulate via controller instead of your hands. Fanfiction is just an extension of what kids used to do when making up stories with their toys, just minus the toys. Dungeons and Dragons is just systematically gamified play. The enduring popularity of board games, which is just play with rules.
Even going the other way, to the non nerd side, I feel the main reason sport is so popular is because it's the closest thing to childhood play that some people have. Kick a ball at a stranger, 9/10 they will kick it back to you, it's instinctual, humans want to play and I think it's funny the way we need to almost trick ourselves into pretending what we're doing is not playing, as if playing is somehow beneath us, that we would all love to go jump in a ballpit or swing on a swing or clash lightsabers with the kid down rhe street.

just found rhe Gamer!reader and I am hooked! but I have a few questions! which color do their lightsabers have? do you think gamer!reader would go with Henry to Events and if Gamer!reader goes to cons or like events for games would henry go with her?
She actually has a collection. Some are definitely collector items and have been signed. But there is an Ashoka white lightsaber that she’ll duel Henry with and Henry uses the Luke Skywalker one.
Yes, once they’re official like engaged and people know, she attends the red carpets at his side. He’ll also attend her events.
They go to comic con and dress up. Faces are covered up for obvious reasons. It’s pretty fun for them as they especially Henry can be normal and be a complete nerd with you.
