Time for another mail-exchange interlude, ladies and germs.

The box portends great things. What sort of fellow orders toys by the case?

The sort who takes requests, actually: we both wanted this guy. The Snizzard (it gets a "The" all through the Wiki, so you know it's serious) apparently menaced the Power Rangers on several occasions (and was initially voiced by Bryan Cranston of all people). But I never watched that show for some reason, so I'm going by what Bogleech tells me: apparently this thing was originally Dora Ladon, based on the serpent that guards the golden apples of the Hesperides. Jealous of the many youthful women on Earth, Bandora (Rita) summoned this horror to suck the youth out of them. It does so with the magical apple crown on its head, which generates parasitic apples on its victims that rapidly age them. You can see why that part was cut.

Anyway, this thing will blend right in on my burgeoning Demons and Things that Look Like Them table. It's like a hundred snakes swarmed together into a humanoid form, and then put on a possessed tsuchinoku costume.

Speaking of, a surprise. I was after a minotaur, any minotaur, and this one didn't disappoint. A quick dark wash will make this pop; this is good, because he's not much of a character. Just a Worf Barrage magnet that served as an early reason to get the Power Weapons into play. He has double-arm swinging action, a sweet shield, and a classic design. I was not expecting Rhinoblaster, who I initially took to be a bat. He's full of sports puns and lives to disrupt football teams. Gotta say, he's lucky he looks so cool.

Another specific pick, the Barracuda! It's not much of a vehicle, with a troop capacity of one, but compensated with a good strong missile launcher and an honest-to-gods baking powder dive mechanism. This one needs a cleaning, and perhaps some sealant on the stickers, but it really does spice up an ocean display.

Critters! Leading the charge is Major Legger Mutton of the Barnyard Commandos BK promotion. Like the rest of this shot, he's actually spare parts, missing the pontoons that folded into a bracelet. Honestly looks better without. There's a few Battle Beasts, all disarmed. I like the chunky rubber spider, and the Boreal Toad is kind of adorable.

Most intriguing are the Toad Air Marshall from Bucky O'Hare, another line I slept on and now feel I need to explore, and that Kronosaur. Looks familiar...

Could've been classic Schleich again; got a species name (in German where applicable), slight marbling in the plastic. But it's ABS, and has no makers' mark or country of origin. Some prominent mold lines, too. Gotta be a knockoff. Nice that they included an average size on the tail, there.

Bits and bobs are a Sectaurs harness (Pinsor, I believe; I've written about him before, but that may have been on Figurerealm....), two Galaxy Warriors shields, Soundwave's rifle, and the Double Duty Mace, an improbable weapon hailing from Tonka's Rock Lords. Well, the weapons are stupid rare, so I guess this is my cue to pick up another childhood favorite.

Yeah.

Rounding out the haul are an early Stephen King movie I actually haven't seen - Time to break out the bingo cards! Or the booze- and an IFC horror that looks like it might not be half bad. That's a couple nights' entertainment already. Also a red drawstring pouch, which will live in the Red Pouches Drawer. Yes, I have two, for light and dark red. Shut up, I can quit when I want to.

Anyhoo, that's another exchange with one of my out-of-state contacts. I guess I mostly do haul breakdowns now. I guess I'll roll with that.

LAST TIME ON MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS/TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES II:  Casey’s still being a little bitch but he has ~~~~good reasons~~~~~ which leaves us without ranger powers.  So how are we coping with this loss?  For the Turtles, it’s taking a field trip to Dimension X with our new best friend Shredder.  For The MMPRs?  WITH FURRY POWERRRRRRRR  - in MMPR/TMNT II #4!  

- I usually don’t post too much in the main recaps that were already covered in the previews but since the previews basically had all the Mutant Ranger content in this issue (boo hiss) you get them again

- I love them sm and I hope they actually get the spotlight in the finale

- uh huh yeah i’m sure this is super necessary SKIP

- sorry Casey but you’re nothing next to the power of the girlboss

- On the one hand this is the most engaged I’ve been with Rita in years because she’s pointing out how stupid this whole Casey subplot was but on the other hand........she’s pointing out how stupid this whole Casey subplot was 

- Dimension X really did have their own rangers!  And they’re exactly in our colors!  That’s convenient.  Give Leo orange just to be funny  

- YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN RANGER X ARRRRRGGGGHHH YOU’RE ALREADY SHOWING WAY MORE INTEGRITY THAN STUPID CASEY 

- recognize these guys?????  I’m pretty sure Dan Mora can draw these guys with his eyes closed at this point

- Though admittedly, while I love them, always picking the same six MMPR monsters is getting a little tiresome.  Godzilla vs MMPR giving the spotlight to Rhinoblaster is feeling like a radical choice at this point

- yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah Ryan doesn’t understand Pumpkin Rapper the way Kyle did.  Ryan.  Do you know how many rhymes I made from “shell” off the top off my head just in the process of writing this passage.  It’s not hard

- Karai sweetie I am so so so sorry you were nerfed this entire series for dumb old Casey you would have rocked the Ranger X look so hard and actually did things of importance

- also I already talked about the Dimension X Turtles in other posts so I won’t repeat what I’ve said here.  We’ll see plenty of them in the final issue, don’t worry 

- I need you to look at this panel again.  Romance is beating the shit out of mutant alligator men  

- I hope the deep shadows here further making Dan’s Splinter design resemble the 2012 Splinter were intentional 

- okay now take notes, guys.  THIS is a cool alternate Zord design

LAST TIME ON GODZILLA VS THE MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS: Gigan, Eye Guy, and Rhinoblaster’s attack gave Godzilla and the Megazord the enemies to lovers plot they needed to team up and save the day, but next on this episode of Kaiju WWE is monster-form Scorpina and her giant bug friends!!!!!! Godzilla vs MMPR #4!

- legit it’s cute that Scorpina’s attacking with a bunch of bug kaiju.  hashtag squad goals

- Scorpina doesn’t want a mid as fuck death and I respect her for that 

- “attacking MY Scorpina” kinda gay to phrase it like that, Rita 

- also while I’m excited for MM to bring back Rita I can tell she won’t be like how she’s written here and that makes me a little sad.  Rita’s been a riot this miniseries.  obv girlboss serious Rita is fine but I miss this more bombastic, ham and cheese version

- Finster having a bias towards his own monsters is always a cute character quirk about him I’ve liked.  He’s the artist who reposts a critic’s comments on his own page so his followers will attack them

- YEEEEEESSSSSS IT’S MY KING HE’S HERE AND HE’S LOOKING SO GOOD

- I know Godzilla’s probably just charging here because there’s nothing he loves more than beating Ghidorah’s ass but I can pretend he also wants to help his new friends.  We’ve got one more issue guys I know you can make this into the newest hit sitcom My Kaiju My Kaiju and Me

- Tommy: wow this place is a freakshow.  I literally don’t respect any of you people

- a lot of people have described this series as basically being an episode of the original show and ending on a good old “Tommy shows up at the last second to save his friends” definitely lends to that charm

- TOO MUCH GOLD ENERGY IS DANGEROUS

- not only is this last page super fucking cool art wise (as well as the return of THREE MORE CLASSIC MMPR MONSTERS!!!!!) we’re finally getting a proper Goldar/Scorpina teamup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I didn’t expect the Godzilla crossover to finally indulge my Goldar/Scorpina-loving heart but.  truly this book was made for me
