One of the worst forms of anime "comedy" is "the characters just yell at each other a lot". And yet, I adored it in the live action Gokushufudo. What's the difference? 1) It's live-action, which means that there are constantly changing facial expressions and body language adding about 1000x the amount of visual information and nuance into the dynamics that animation could never capture. Plus, the actors can improvise on set to build on the vibe at the moment, something doubly impossible with anime practices. 2) Rhythm rhythm RHYTHM RHYTHM. Not only do the actors have excellent chemistry in their banter, but the "getting loud" is never just static noise. There's an awareness of the tension levels, the push and pull, and so the shouting matches are going somewhere with a purpose. There are turns! Lots of turns! Turns are very important! The more turns you have in a comedic sequence, the better! 3) The editing is key to this as well, as it conveys that sense of structure to the audience. In Gokushufudo's case, specifically, it reinforces the rhythm of the actors' line deliveries, and one of the show's favorite tricks is to cut away at the funniest possible moment. This stops the yelling from overstaying its welcome, and the whiplash release of tension serves as a punchline in an of itself. 4) The atmosphere of CHAOS is largely driven by many characters talking all over each other and many things happening simultaneously. Even Kure-nai struggled to match the energy overlapping dialogue brought (Tesagure, of course, is cheating since it's mocap). 5) There's also an element of the layouts crisis here, too, as creators like Matsumoto Rie and Igarashi Takyua are quite comfortable with quick cuts and animated chaos. But there's not nearly enough time in the modern production schedule to really digest a source material and figure out what original animated fast rhythm should look like. So, instead, when characters yell at each other a lot as "comedy" in anime, what you usually get are two isolated sets of lines like Cotton Eyed Joe, with no origin or destination, just...Things Happening On Screen with no rhyme or reason. Which does anti-characterization to their relationship dynamic. "Bonus" if the visuals are utterly uninspired, tailored neither to the characters or the show. All of this also applies to manzai comedy, a style with an even more difficult execution curve.

Konosuba: An Explosion On This Wonderful World! Episode 1: The Crimson-Eyed Wizards
Tumblr media
The deranged explosion specialist, Megumin, is the first of her party to grace our screens in nearly 4 years now. A large gap (though not quite a decade like some other series), a prequel story, the third studio for the anime series. The cards are quite stacked against it, no? Well, through perseverance, chance, or some matter of fate, Megumin not only makes it to our screens again (and before Kazuma), but does so in impressive fashion. So, where to begin?
Maybe I'll address the changes first. Konosuba is under new direction (and storyboarding), found in Abe Yuujirou. A relative newcomer to series director, they've got a good few credits under their belt for episode direction. The biggest (and most important) being Kaguya-Sama. In total, they only did 4 episodes from S1+S2, but I think the impact of being an episode director for Kaguya-Sama is plain as day.
Visual comedy is an important aspect of both titles, so having worked on such a visually creative show beforehand gives me a lot of confidence in Yuujirou's approach. Sure, it might be a little "flat" at times, as in it opts for a lot of 2 dimensional scenes, but I think there's plenty of moments that help accentuate the comedy of various interactions, like this one.
Tumblr media
Though to temper expectations, I'd still caution at the fact that it's not stellar direction on all fronts, as more often than not you'll get a "left-right" representation of a scene, almost like a stage play.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm a pretty big advocate for avoiding this sort of thing when you have (an imaginary) 3D space to work with. I wouldn't say it's the end of the world, but it's like the bare minimum in a two-way conversation for showing their involvement.
At the end of the day though, I don't think it really gets in the way of the visual comedy, and even sometimes, the more lax layouts can help with it. Take this scene for example. It's pretty straightforward, but does it job of showing how comically large the school is in comparison to the number of students that it takes in.
Tumblr media
I guess to put a cork in my waffling, the overall direction and storyboarding isn't quite as outstanding as I'd hoped, but at the end of the day it ends up aiding quite well in the delivery of the overall comedy. The heart of the Crimson Demons of course is what runs away with the episode, and we get a lot of that on display in almost exclusively a flashy nature.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But oddly enough, the core of the Crimson Demons isn't near as much a driving force as Kazuma's ability to parody isekai anime. Sure, it dominates the episode and brings about the vast majority of the best parts, but peeling back that façade you get a more genuine approach with characters as well. Just little bits and pieces that keep the ball rolling and help Megumin find her way to being an explosion specialist.
Tumblr media
And of course, who could say no to an explosion to cap the episode off?
Well apparently, Drive.
Overall, I think with tempered expectations, this first episode back is a treat. Its comedy hits just right, the visual effects look ridiculously cool still, and Takahashi Rie is killing it as Megumin once more. With the change in course towards a more fleshed out and directed story, I think there is certainly bumps in the road that stop it from being really great, but that's tertiary to the main point of watching this. You want funny and hilariously overpowered chuuni magic users as the main course, it's just that you get a little bit of story as a side dish.

Know About Etching Techniques in PCB Assembly Process
The complexity of circuit boards has increased in terms of design and circuitry. For the circuit board to function normally and avoid shorting or signal interference, it is necessary to strip of any unwanted conductive elements from its surface. PCB etching is a process wherein excess copper or particles remaining on the board are removed. After this, only the circuit portions that are needed remain on the board. This is why etching is an important step of the total PCB fabrication process. The PCB etching process is of two types – wet and dry etching. This post discusses these PCB etching processes in detail.
 Types of PCB Etching Techniques
Before PCB etching is applied, the design file image is applied onto the board using photolithography, so that the layout is clearly traced on the board. The extent of etching is decided largely on the PCB design. So, selected portions of the board are etched or scraped with the help of certain chemicals. Regardless of the safety of these chemicals, the process must be performed in a well-ventilated area and wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE). This section introduces you to the wet and dry PCB etching in detail.
Wet Etching: In this process, a wet solution, either acidic or alkaline, is used to clean the board surface. This depends on the type of boards such as rigid, flexible, or a combination of both. Cupric chloride, ferric chloride, alkaline ammonia, sulfuric acid, and so on are some widely used etching solutions for PCBs. Depending on the etch rate required, solutions such as cupric acid are formulated along with hydrochloric acid. This acidic solution is non-reactive with the photoresist material on the board and hence does not corrode. Acidic etching is less expensive than alkaline etching. Alkaline etching is typically used for outer layers with tin, nickel, or gold plating. Wet etching process is performed in a high-pressure chamber where the solution is sprayed.
Pros and Cons of Wet Etching
Here are some pros and cons of wet etching.
·         This is a cost effective and flexible technique.
·         It offers evenness to the board surface.
·         One can select the portion on the board and start the etching process, after which it will stop automatically without damaging any other portions.
·         Some chemical solutions may not be that suitable for PCBs as they may produce hazardous byproducts as part of the reaction.
·         This is isotropic etching.
Dry Etching: This process though flexible is more complex and expensive compared to wet etching. This is done through machines and without using any chemical solutions. Also called as reactive ion etching (RIE), it is known for the precision it offers. It uses plasma in a vacuum environment that wipes off all the excess copper and other particles on the board surface. Iron sputtering is also done using laser.
Pros and Cons of Dry Etching
Here are some pros and cons of dry etching.
·         Laser technique offers excellent precision and surface uniformity.
·         This is anisotropic technique.
·         While this technique as such is slightly expensive because of the equipment, the chemicals are quite cost effective.
·         There may be challenges in etching underlying materials.
If you are a manufacturer of complex electromechanical or electronic equipment, the PCB design you may require would be just as intricate. Ensure you partner with a reliable and experienced PCB assembly services provider. Also, make sure they offer PCB etching services too. It is crucial that they understand your requirements well and customize based on that. This is because the functioning of your manufactured device largely depends on the PCBA inside. Sierra Assembly has several years of market presence and a strong experience in PCB assembling of even the most complex PCBAs.
