Rikugien Cherry Blossom Light-Up

March 15th — March 30th

One of Tokyo’s most famous gardens, Rikugien holds a light-up event twice every year — once to show the cherry blossoms and again in autumn to display the colours of the beautiful Japanese maple trees. The event starts at sundown and ends at 9pm, taking a fixed route around the garden, but note that there are only a few cherry trees in Rikugien — the most famous being the weeping cherry blossom tree (シダレザクラ) near the entrance.

I am really, really going to miss Rikugien garden. It's a beautiful, somehow totally quiet oasis in the middle of Tokyo that costs only ¥300 to enter. It's especially lovely to walk through in the spring or fall.

Momijigari

November vibes! I had a lovely time painting this ^^ The concept was "ok, Rina birthday in November, november is autumn, do they have momijigari in november? they do! what locations near Odaiba do momijigari? Rikugien Gardens!"

oh and obviously it's a date with Rina's girlfriends, for that part my hands just moved on instinct

thus the painting was born <3
