10% left au; Shiningclan

Alright! I did Eveningclan yesterday, so today is the main ideas for Shiningclan, which is a mix of Riverclan and Windclan!

Shiningclan: Ashfoot/star, Robinwing, Grasspelt, Boulderfur, Weaselfur, Leaftail, Podpaw, Curlpaw, Pondkit.

Ashfoot is immediately made leader. She deserves it.

She makes Robinwing her deputy, not wanting Riverclan to be left out of the power situation.

Leaftail becomes the medicine cat, since he spent quite some time in there learning herbs with Kestrelflight. I can imagine those two having a secret crush on each other, too bad Kestrelflight died.

Curlpaw and Podpaw would be mentored by Grasspelt and Weaselfur respectedly.

Knowing that the group needed more numbers to survive, Ashstar sends Boulderfur and Cloudstar sends Mousewhisker to find more members. Guess who they find on the way? Skyclan!

They help them back to camp and save Waspwhisker, Birdwing, Fidgetpaw, Clovertail and Pebbleshine from being taken.

Leafstar is horrifed about how little cats are left, and Fidgetpaw instantly asks to go to Risingclan to become Leaftail's apprentice, since Skyclan already has three medicine cats. She agrees, and Fidgetpaw, along with Macgyver, Mintfur and Creekfeather, join Shiningclan, while Plumwillow, Sandynose, Rabbitleap and Tinycloud join Eveningclan.

Hello! I’m so sorry for such a late thank you but I wanted to thank you for rating my FanClans! (I was the one who asked about HiddenClan, etc). I’ve been kind of stuck recently on what personality to give these two cats? They’re the founders of RisingClan that I mentioned; Firefly Which Glows at Night (the tribe she-cat) and Apricot (the tom from the Sisters). Is it alright if I also send the other founders names to rate? Tysm in advance!!

Firefly Which Glows at Night- A curious and thoughtful she-cat. Firefly will often reflect things that have happened, and try and learn from the past, and use this to try and plan for the future. She always wondered what was beyond the mountains, ever since she was a kit, coming up with so many scenarios in her head about what the world outside was like, leaving the mountains always seemed to be her destiny but she was still sad when she left, but having Apricot helped ease the pain and made her more and more optimistic about her new life, 15/10

Apricot- A skilful and kind tom. Being alone from a young age has left Apricot extremely resourceful, he can get out of almost any bad situation if he sets his mind to it. He always tries to be polite and he will never let a cat suffer unnecessarily if he can help. Apricot used to think that he was ok with being alone, but Firefly proved him wrong, he can’t imagine life without her now, 14/10

how did you come up with/why did you pick the name RisingClan? Is there an in-universe/lore reason for the name too? Super excited to hear more about em, I love how you’ve been documenting the cats/clangen gameplay so far!

I've always loved sun imagery, honestly. The only reason it wasn't named SunClan was because I already had a save under that name ^^; Also, I try to avoid naming cats after the Clan names (like how there aren't a lot of cats named Thunder in the original books) and I'd rather give up the name Rising- than Sun-.

As far as In Universe, I hadn't really thought about it aside from "that sounds nice, doesn't it?" but I will say that one of their rivals is FallenClan, so there's some interesting juxtaposition there.

I could not, for the life of me, figure out what to do with the background, so it's just solid color.

Fog gave me a headache, as there seems to have been a redesign so I had to work off the very covered-up drawing in one of the months 😅 But I think they both turned out so cute

So I remember Goldenstar wondering if Razor killed Smokeyrose because Ghost took a mate outside the group and she thinks back on how older Clan leaders used to do that

Does that mean in the Clans now having a mate from a different clan isn’t a big deal? Like it is in the canon books? Or is it still a huge deal but it’s not like death sentence worthy.

Also Scorch and Aldertail deserve all the love please tell Aldertail that I’d die for her

Having a relationship, and specifically kits, with a cat outside the Clans is generally permitted (although traditionalists tend to frown upon it) so long as it doesn't distract them from their duties to their Clan. The main issue is with Loyalties. In order to have this kind of relationship, you need to prove to your Clan that you aren't taking away from the Clan's resources or that you would still be able to defend your Clan if the outsider became a threat of any kind. For this reason, cats usually try to convince their lovers to join the Clan, thereby side stepping any conflicts of interest.

This helps avoid genetic stagnation within a Clan and is more widely tolerated during times of hardship, like the period following the Red Gut plague, to help restore a Clan's numbers. Some cats are still opposed to it but there is no law against this kind of relationship and it's generally easier to just allow it rather than losing warriors who decide they're in love with an outsider.

Cross Clan relationships are a lot more taboo because of the conflicting loyalties they create. There's no formal punishment and something like death or exile would be considered extremely harsh but social shunning is very common, especially among more traditionalist communities (although let's be real, RisingClan as it is probably wouldn't be too strict with that). Kits generally go to the mother's Clan unless she has no desire to raise them and they are expected to be loyal to the Clan they are raised in and not the Clan of their other parent.

Healers are still forbidden from having romantic or sexual relationships of any kind, although as we've seen that hasn't stopped them as of late.

the absolute chokehold this blog has on me is seriously crazy im soo in love with your work.

youve probably been asked this before, and if thats the case i apologize- but im curious... considering the canonical Cat Homophobia amongst the city cats, how does Scorch feel about it? I mean we all know that girl is queer and has flirted (albeit playfully) with women in the past but being around #1 Bigot Razor all the time can't be a good thing for... anyones moral standings, internalized or not.

either way she has some serious issues to work through before jumping into another relationship i fear. sorry scorch not even a pretty women can solve ur Various Issues... we will get there eventually girl i believe in u.

(ps i know towing the line in asks between trivia/clarification questions and "this is something i want to be extrapolated upon in the text rather then just telling you" questions is hard so if this is one of those i totally get it lol, and im sure i speak for most of us other askers as well ^_^)

Wow I have so many people in chokeholds it seems XD I'm flattered. Also, I appreciate the understanding. Luckily, this is something I feel comfortable answering.

Lucky for Scorch, she grew up in a completely different town with a much chiller community. As a kit she was taken in by a group of female cats who raised their kits communally and at least some of them were in romantic relationships with each other. So she doesn't have the sort of unthinking, automatic 'that's weird' response that cats in Razor's city tend to have.

You're not wrong that being around Razor definitely had an effect on that but the effect was mostly her realizing she had to tone it down when she was in town. There were rumors originating in her earlier days in the city that she swung both ways (we learn that in one of the early Aldertail POVs) but she mostly played it off and escaped too much flack for it.

But yeah, her issues are a lot more with just general intimacy and the seeds were there even before she came to Razor's city. To some degree, it made not being able to be queer in the city easier because Scorch doesn't consider romantic love to be anything she would be interested in. She's a real Romance Pessimist, you know, like the kind of woman who starts a rom-com being like 'love is fake and I'll never fall in love' XD Hopefully she'll follow the rest of the rom-com arc
