Winx & Specialists Dynamics that are so Precious to me
it makes sense that in the show, winx and their non-boyfriend specialists don’t interact much. but!! i’m very insane about codependent found families, and I want them all to love each other. so here’s my take on some tet-a-tet dynamics:
rare pairings:
Musa & Timmy: childhood frenemies. they used to go to the same middle school on Melody, and as type-A tweens do, had an intense, “you’re the only person I match myself to” kind of rivalry. they lost contact after Timmy moved away, chilled out considerably, reconnected in Alfea and had a wonderful banter-filled friendship since. because of how fast they slotted back into a friendship, some of their classmates genuinely thought they were siblings.
Tecna & Riven: got up from a rough patch. from “I dislike you but we both love Musa, so we have to be civil” to “you have more depths to you than I expected” to “now that I understand you, I can’t help but admire certain things about you” to “bitch, you are the only person who is as weird and clueless as I am, ARE YOU READY TO GO TO THE ARCADE AND ANNIHILATE KIDS FOR SHITS AND GIGGLES”
Flora & Brandon: little sister, older brother vibes. of similar temperaments and views, they enjoy spending time over a cup of tea — talking about everything and nothing. it’s therapeutic, almost.
(no one in the group knew that Brandon and Flo were good friends. once, when the two had to team up during a mission, Bloom couldn’t even finish saying: “it would be a good opportunity for you to get to know each ot-“, before the specialist-fairy duo were re-creating the most complicated and choreographed hand shake ever. jaws were on the floor.)
Aisha & Brandon: they are sporties, and they like doing sport things together! they don’t talk aside from exchanging brief encouragements and advice while out, preferring to spend their time in companionable silence. sorta like those dads who never talk to their buddies, but somehow have the strongest and longest bonds ever?
Helia & Bloom: artist besties. Bloom drags Helia out on picnics, where they practice observational drawing (and tiktok trends that Bloom desperately wants to reenact but none of the winx are good at arts); Helia responds by taking her out to see art museums in Magix. it’s a fun dynamic of Bloom being the bubbly gold retriever, and Helia being her black cat.
Tecna & Sky: they didn’t have much of a relationship until year 4. somehow, they both got really, intensely into weaponsmithing and built a joint workshop. they found that they enjoy working alongside each other and value each other’s insights. sky goes to tecna when he needs frank, un-sugarcoated advice, and tecna accompanies sky on hikes and other spirited adventures, for “bonding activities” (because he told her she doesn’t get out of her comfort zone enough). it’s a relationship of deep mutual respect.
Sky & Stella: childhood friends. they knew each other as children and enjoyed playing together (which is how Stella also knew Brandon pre-Red Fountaine). at least, until Stella was unofficially banned from Eraklyon because shenanigans, and they lost contact. they still jokingly call each other “My Lady” and “My Lord”.
Stella & Nabu. Both are flirty and extroverted people, who enjoy the spirit of showmanship. They have a friendly rivalry going of who can fluster the villain of the week the fastest.
canon bf-gf dynamics (dating in canon, open to interpretation otherwise):
Bloom x Sky: liked each other since the first meeting; bonded over being the friend group moms. (on unrelated note: bloom gentle parents her friends, while sky goes all exasperated cig mom on his team and repeats things like: “you better go to sleep right now, or so help me Dragon I will take away your Owl pilot privileges-“)
they are not the most outwardly affectionate couple of the winx, yet they are so wordlessly devoted to each other. sky will follow bloom to the ends of all dimensions, when she gets a calling from powers as mystical as she. bloom will always believe in him and see him as his own man, unlike the many who see him only as his father’s son. they were entwined by fate, long before one had met the other; yet, there’s the trust, the respect, the faith so strong — that could have only come from friendship forged and tested by fire.
Stella and Brandon: the hottest power couple; sole reason behind 60% of all student fairies/specialists/witches queer awakening.
they banter all. the. goddamn. time. these dorks are speaking a whole different language.
they are also most comfortable in each other’s company, being able to be their genuine, less polished selves. stella and brandon are both performers bred and born, playing the roles of a noble princess and a knight. it’s nice, to have a safe reprieve from all that acting.
Aisha and Nabu. their love was one that sneaked up on them. their distance, set by a discomfort at the idea of an arranged marriage, bridged as they transitioned from being reluctant comrades to friendly rivals to unwilling friends to best friends to “if someday the moon calls you by your name, don’t be surprised — because every night I tell her about you”
Tecna and Timmy: partners in crime, ride or die, sunny faith in each other — even when the other person doesn’t believe in themself. I have a whole post about them, go read that ;)
Flora and Helia: they are so. they are. they-
icons. the most romantic couple, the one that sets the standards, the one that gives their friends advice. they are extremely attentive to each other’s needs and tender with each other’s feelings.
flora can recite helia’s poems in her sleep, and trace his drawings with her eyes closed. helia brings mielle presents every time he stops by. flora has tea with helia’s dad every other tuesday; she keeps note of every time helia and saladin are supposed to meet up, to be able to whisk helia away after and distract him from his troubles. helia knows how to care of flora’s plants, and sends her lovingly assorted gift baskets semi-regularly.
Musa and Riven. their relationship is push and pull, is joy then sorrow.
it’s all in a drag of a cigarette, in the vortex of a starless night, in the hoarse laughter. “of all the people in the world, why did it have to be you?” she’ll say and smile.
“ I’m afraid we’re doomed, lover,” he’ll reply, faux-casually, and smile back. both of them will know it’s the truth.
their relationship was not built to last, not for the lack of love or try. maybe they were too similar — both headstrong, unbending, bleeding hearts. maybe they were just different enough not to understand their hurts. nevertheless, it was not built to last — but neither of them would ever bring to regret it. love prevails, no matter in what form in comes, or something like that.

Ok honestly any rivusa shipper will enjoy the comics and their stories like as a child (I collected the comics from the debut issue and in the country I live every month they would realise a new issue so I’d buy the winx comics every month) I watched the show but the comics made me genuinely love the characters and their relationship ESPECIALLY rivusa and it’s honestly thanks to the comics they solidified their spot as my otp. I mean rivusa have a whole wiki section on the winx fandom wiki dedicated solely to their comic storyline and honestly it’s so iconic. They just have great moments (like I rmb there was one issue where Musa was panicking to look presentable while she was gonna go meet riven in magix city and once she got off the bus to meet him as he’s waiting at the bus stop there’s a whole frame of them holding each other and staring into each other’s eyes and he calls her beautiful😍😍😍 and in that issue when the girls ask about him there’s a whole frame of her heart eyes with hearts in the bg as she raves to the girls “riven is very sweet and kind when you get on his good side” like PLEASE YOUR HONOUR I LOVE THEM SO MUCH and I distinctly rmb from my childhood this issue where the winx and specialists get stranded on an island back In time and Musa and Brandon are knocked out cold and even tho there’s no dialogue riven is just carrying musa to safety bridal style🥺🥺 (I think this ig acc @/rivusa._ did this thing where they screenshotted the moment he carries her in the animated cartoon and in fate and the in the comics and put all 3 side by side and idk there’s smth so fulfilling and heartwarming knowing riven will always carry musa to safety when she needs it in every version of them😭) so yes if you ever have time please go read the comics it really made me love the winx franchise as a whole even more
I've been slowly reading the comics and I'm obsessed with their s1 interactions, tho I mostly open them to see if I can make thematic edits XD
It really shows how Riven is more interested in school stuff over dating, while Musa is easily swept up by crushes
It's really cute. Riven hears something maybe dangerous and he gives it his full focus and Musa is trying to flirt with him because she doesn't think it's dangerous
They have completely different priorities, which I think is a adorable way to keep them apart lol
Omg!! That must of been so much fun!!!
The comics actually involve the assassin's that Sky's family has been so scared of in the story and I'm really excited to see how it includes other details the show glossed over
The more you talk up the comics the more I want to read them 👀
I think all of the couples have a couple part of their wiki but don't quote me on that, it's the middle of the night and I don't feel like checking
OMGGG NO NO NO NO THATS SO CUTE!!!
Musa definitely worries about her outfits, for no reason tho bc Riven is like 😍 abt her always. I imagine the most ideal response she wants to get is looking so good he forgets words exist for a while
Nfkskskejsjskskwjjw Musa and Riven are the epitome of two mentally ill people dating that are just similar enough that they understand each other without being too similar but so different that their friends are like "what???" Riven definitely stuggles to let people in, but he clearly wants to help people by going to RF and it's just 🥰🥰🥰 he doesn't trust people but he wants to protect them and I love him
OHHHHHH JESTER TOLD ME ABOUT THAT COMIC IT WAS APPARENTLY V GOOD AND IM EVEN MORE EXCITED TO READ IT NOW TNX U
Riven's love language is acts of service and physical affection, change my mind. He would never leave Musa in danger come hell or high water and I love him!!! He's doing his best and it's amazing!!! Musa from her actions in s1 isn't used to having people she can rely on so seeing that Riven will always try to help her gives her the warm fuzzies
I've always had this hc that before Musa and her dad start understanding each other, and her dad is still deathly terrified of Musa going the way of her mother if she joins the industry, Riven offers to help her get an apartment. Like no questions asked. You dad sucks? Let's help you move out. He didn't have a clear picture, Musa's dad is over protective the exact opposite of Riven's and he was projecting just a bit, but Musa was all like 🥰🥹 when he offered
I love them your honor that is all

Sky gets fed up of his dads being idiots and tells them to kiss. They'd never kissed before
"You know your dads are in love, right?" Riven says one day, and Sky immediately scoffs.
"You're out of your fucking mind, Riv, they hate each other," he says, but a week later, he's starting to think that Riven might just be startlingly sane.
He's never paid that much attention to the way that his two father figures interact before. Saul stabbed Andreas. Andreas burned their house down and had Saul arrested, and ever since Saul's pardon, the two have been sharing Specialist instruction time grudgingly. Reluctantly. The mutual animosity is hard to miss, and yet -
"Are you watching your dads again?" Bloom asks.
"Yes!" Sky answers, and Bloom rolls her eyes.
"Just talk to them," she insists, and Sky snorts.
"Because that's what you did last time you thought Ms Dowling was keeping a secret," he answers, and Bloom grimaces.
"Yeah, so I know what I'm talking about," she counters. "Remember how that turned out?"
It's Sky's turn to grimace this time.
"How's she doing?" he asks.
"She still can't stand the smell of dirt," she answers. "I think it's upsetting Professor Harvey." They sit in silence for a minute, and then Bloom shrugs off the somber mood. She gestures toward Sky's parents and asks, "So what brilliant observations have you made today?"
Sky scowls.
"Very funny, Bloom," he answers. He gets up from his spot. "I have class, see you later."
It's all very well and good for Bloom to joke, he thinks, but the fact is that Riven wasn't wrong about Saul and Andreas. There is something going on there, something that's a lot less than hatred. It's in the way that Andreas watches Saul's arse appreciatively when he leaves the room, and in the way that they go out of their way to keep distance between them and in the fond smile he's caught Saul wearing when Andreas says something funny. It's the way they fall back into teasing when they're not careful, and the way they fight like extensions of each other on the rare occasions when they demonstrate fighting in teams.
Most of all though, it's the pining. It's taken Sky a while to see it, but now that he's noticed, he can't unsee it. His two fathers follow each other with their eyes constantly and, infuriatingly, neither of them seems to have noticed.
It can't stand. More to the point, he can't stand it, because in the meantime, both men seem to be determined to destroy themselves or others.
Something is going to have to be done. That's all there is to it, but Sky can't for the life of him think what that something should be - not, at least, until two weeks later.
************
It's amazing, Saul thinks, how much muscle tone he's managed to lose in prison.
He's been home, or at least as close as he can get with a burnt out shell for a house, for three months now. His hands have mostly stopped shaking and the injuries he'd taken have healed nicely but he still can't seem, no matter how hard he tries, to get the timing quite right on the last counterstroke in the sequence he's practicing. He's sweating, hands gripping the sword's hilt and the simulated Burned One he's fighting is snarling and he still - can't - get it - right -!
"Headmaster Silva! Headmaster Silva, please, come quickly, Sky and Andreas are fighting!"
Saul lunges forward because there is no universe where he can leave even a simulated Burned One still roaring behind him. The Burned One lunges forward as well, and the sword goes cleanly through the simulation's cinder heart with an all too realistic crunch and a crackle. He pulls the weapon out, panting from exertion, and the illusion dissipates. The roaring and snarling stop.
The fight is over. Saul turns. The student behind him squeaks in surprise, and he lowers the sword.
"Fighting fighting or just arguing?" he asks.
"Arguing, but they're on the training grounds and -"
"And they've both started gesturing with swords," Saul fills in. He sheathes his sword hurriedly. "Take me there," he orders.
It takes him two minutes to be able to hear the shouting.
"-don't care what you want, this is meant to be training, not a blood sport!" Sky is saying. "I don't know what your fucking problem is -"
"Language and attitude!" Andreas warns, voice rising, and then Saul arrives and strides toward them.
At least Andreas has learnt something from him, he thinks as he gets closer. He is not swearing, at least. Still -
"That's enough, break it up!" Saul snaps, and both Sky and Andreas look toward him wearing identical expressions of surprise. "You, you're a teacher, act like one!" Saul barks at Andreas. "You! Language and attitude!" This goes to Sky, who scowls.
"There've been five injuries on this field alone this week!" Sky snaps. "We're tired, half-concussed in Dane's case -"
"And you'll be considerably worse in a real battle if I don't push you now!" Andreas snaps. "You want to be concussed now, or dead later?"
"How about not concussed now or dead later?" Saul interrupts. "Sky, your father's got a point, and Andreas, you can put the fear of God into the students without sending half of them to the infirmary."
"The rest of you are dismissed," Andreas says, turning to the watching students, and for once, Saul agrees with him.
"Go on," he echoes, and the specialists do as they're told and turn away, satisfied that there will be no fight to the death here today. Saul watches them go and then turns back to Andreas and Sky.
"It'd be nice if you could bring your disputes to me personally instead of having a first-year tell me you're about to kill each other," he scolds privately. Sky scoffs.
"We wouldn't have to argue at all if you weren't off training yourself into an early grave," he points out. "You're sulking, and he's -" He gestures to Andreas, exasperation clear in his tone.
"I'm what?" Andreas challenges, and Sky rolls his eyes.
"Horny and frustrated and in love with this idiot," he diagnoses. "Honestly, you're a pair of fucking idiots and you should just kiss and get it out of your systems."
Wait, Saul thinks. What?! He looks to Andreas, who looks back at him with a similar stunned expression.
Sky shakes his head.
"You really didn't know," he marvels. "Unbelievable." Without another word, he turns and walks away without waiting to be dismissed, and Saul still feels as though someone has just told him that Farah had run off to join a commune with Rosalind. And Luna. In the Human World. In fact, he thinks, that might be less shocking than the revelation that his son thinks he's in love with Andreas.
He turns back to Andreas, who looks similarly poleaxed.
"It's absurd -" Andreas starts. "Impossible-"
"Completely out of line -" Saul says at the same time, and they stutter to a stop at the same time, looking at each other.
"You didn't say it was ridiculous," Andreas points out, and Saul has to take a second to absorb that statement.
"I -" he starts, and stops, because why, exactly, is that the case? "I've been - distracted lately," he admits, and Andreas nods.
"Distracted," he agrees.
"Tetchy," Saul continues.
Andreas nods again.
"What with work, and removing Rosalind -" he offers.
"And with the new training regimen -"
"You've barely been here."
"You've been in a mood, I didn't want -" Saul starts, and then stops again, and this time he stares at Andreas in utter bafflement. "He's right, isn't he?" he asks, and Andreas gives him a look that couldn't possibly be more miserable if he tried.
"You have a nice arse," he admits, and things finally click into place.
He's in love with Andreas of Eraklyon. He's been in love for fuck knows how long, and unless he misses his guess, the feeling is mutual.
Sky is right and Saul is a fucking idiot. Certified, indisputable, plain for anyone to see, and he's going to stop being stupid right now.
"He said you're in love with me," Saul presses. He moves closer to Andreas, who - backs away for the first time in his life.
"He's eighteen -"
"He's very perceptive for eighteen," Saul counters and takes another step forward.
"It's absurd," Andreas protests again, weakly this time.
"How long have you been staring at my arse?"
"It's a very nice arse," Andreas repeats, voice strangled now, and stops backing away. He looks away, embarrassed, and Saul stops advancing.
"Andreas?" he asks, and his friend - the man he's in love with, the man with the loveliest eyes in the world - looks back to him.
"We're too old for this nonsense," he protests just above a whisper, and Saul nods.
"Couldn't agree more," he replies. "Come over here and kiss me."
Andreas hesitates. He takes a step forward and then -
"The students," he says. Saul shakes his head.
"The students can shut up and mind their own business if they know what's good for them," he insists, and then Andreas surges across the field, takes Saul's face between both hands, and kisses him.
The kiss is gentle. Andreas's lips touch his, and their noses bump, and then they're opening their mouths, letting each other in. Andreas tastes like whiskey and whatever he had for breakfast, and his hands are rough against Saul's face, his beard scratching exactly right as he deepens the kiss. Saul arches forward, forehead resting against Andreas's, and he moans just a little. Andreas does the same, and Saul lets his hands rise, clutching at Andreas's arms, holding himself up when his knees threaten to give out from the sheer relief of what he's doing.
"Saul," Andreas moans, and Saul can't help the small whimper that escapes him.
"Andy," he breathes, and he can feel the moment that Andreas's breath hitches because his partner's shoulders start to shake, shortly followed by the rest of him. They pull away from the kiss and then Saul gathers Andreas close to him, holding on for dear life. He's crying too, he realizes; tears are running down his cheeks, and he's clutching at Andreas like the world might try to tear him away again at any moment.
"I love you," Andreas gasps, and it's Saul who initiates the kiss this time, harder and more demanding and with entirely more bite to it.
"I love you too," he whispers fiercely. "I love you, Andreas of Eraklyon, and we're both fucking stupid and our son deserves a medal."
"At least an increase in pocket money," Andreas agrees, and for the first time since everything - for the first time since Aster Dell, it feels like - Saul laughs at Andreas's joke, and Andreas beams at him, teary-eyed but delighted for the first time in twenty years. It's like seeing the sun come out after a long, rainy day.
"Come here," Saul orders, and reaches for Andreas again.
*********
"I told you it would work," Beatrix hisses, and Sky rolls his eyes.
"I nearly got my head torn off," he retorts.
"Still," Riven whispers. "Least they're talking now."
Several hundred yards away, Saul and Andreas lean forward again, and all three teenagers grimace.
"Ew," Beatrix whispers. "Can we go now?"
"I think you'd better before they catch you," Farah says dryly from behind them, and all three turn.
"Hi, Ms. Dowling -"
"Aunt Farah, I can explain -"
"Oh f- I mean hi -" Riven stutters, and Farah laughs.
"Well done, all of you," she says, and waves a hand. "Go. And no gossiping!"

For the vidya game asks, 8, 11, 20?
[Spoilers for Xenoblade Chronicles 1 below]
8. A series you haven't played but are interested in trying: Every new thing I learn about the Metal Gear franchise fascinates and bewilders me plus I really loved David Hayter as Lupin in the Manga dub of Cagliostro and also Solid Snake is kinda hot in Smash Bros for the Wii and the play style is apparently similar to the Barbie Secret Agent game I used to play on PC. Unfortunately zero of them are available on consoles I have access to :(
11. Do you prefer “blank slate” main characters you make yourself or otherwise project onto, or characters with a set personality and backstory?: I think the latter, partly because I'm not sure I've played many games with that much customization and partly because my preferred style of escapism very much does not feature my Self in any form, I guess? I don't really make self-inserts and I don't want to be IN the story; I prefer a more...shall we say, cinematic experience? Which I know is kinda silly given the inherent interactivity of games as a genre, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'll take a pre-built character (maybe with different skill levels you can play with) and just hope I like them :P Or in the case of Myst / Riven / Exile, a “player character” who isn't really a character, just you, silent, in the driver's seat poking around with minimal to no dialogue as you uncover more information/plot.
20. A boss you think is really cool: >:3c oh you KNOW I'm gonna take this opportunity to talk about my trash fave, Dickson from Xenoblade Chronicles 1. He's an action hero! He's funny! He looks like the Goblin King by way of a Rural Biker Bar Guy™ by way of a pirate! He's the only character in the entire game who smokes (which raises so many worldbuilding questions)! He knows everyone and everything! He's shady but after hours of gameplay you kind of forget that bc other stuff is going on! He's a semi-absent but seemingly affable reluctant father figure (and then the world's worst dad)! He's secretly a gazillion years old and like 20 feet tall and ripped! He's been a disciple of Evil God this entire time and he raised the protagonist purely so his shitty boss could use the kid's body as a vessel to kill everyone in the world and bring about the Apocalypse! He betrayed my other favorite character after pretending(?) to be friends with him for years, and this is after that guy had already been betrayed by their OTHER bestie earlier in the game! He finally gets permission to no longer hold back or give a shit and he's such a smug bastard about it! He might secretly give one (1) shit after all but he would literally rather die (and does!) than unpack that or process any regrets he might have deep down bc he's held onto his old self for so long that he doesn't want it to have all been for naught! His voice actor is so FUCKING good and I have not been normal about this character for a good two years now. Dark shoutout to my brother for introducing me to this game and my most ridiculous blorbo.

Prompt #13:  Confluence
Tumblr media
Roderick’s breath hung in clouds about his face as he crept up the stairs.  An early blast of winter had come to Coerthas, dusting the normal fall foilage with a light sprinkling of snow.  In hindsight, he should have taken it as a warning, given the superstitious nature of the Ishgardian people.
Of all the bloody things to run afoul of, the godsdamned Ishgardian Inquisition!  Roderick’s business had been simple enough, he was one of the legion of scholars sent out and about to see what was going on with Sharlayan’s allies, and to bring any new and promising academic developments back to the city-state.  The trip had been going well enough, but the minute he’d entered Coerthas, it had all gone to the seven hells.  Roderick’s steps slowed as he came upon the jail’s main entrance.  If his timing was correct, the guard was out on patrol, he could recover his things and make a run for it.  A muttered incarnation made the thick wooden door and it’s hinges feather light, and Roderick put his hand on the latch.  His heart raced as he pulled the door open, stepping through the doorway.  Turning, he made to pull it shut...
Only to freeze as a silver ribbon of steel suddenly appeared at his neck.
“Don’t move.”
FuckfuckfuckFUCK.  Holding up his hands, Roderick glanced to the side.  A elezen with a rather pronounced nose was on his right side.  His black hair was messily pushed back, and his eyes were narrowed. The hand that gripped the sword-hilt was steady, and Roderick noticed that his armor was unmarked-silver with yellow trim.
"...Do you mind? I've a wife to get home to." If he died, Emma would never forgive him, not to mention probably perform necromancy on his corpse to pull his spirit back from the Lifestream so she could kill him herself.
"Your wife should have known she was a widow the day you wedded her, heretic." The elezen replied. Roderick couldn't help himself, he felt his temper snap.
"I'm not a fucking Dravanian! Would I have bothered to save your sorry arses if I were?! Would I have willingly come along to this den of crazies if I had the power to just blow everything up by just sneezing?!" He snarled. To his surprise, the elezen man's lips twitched.
"If I were more of a dutiful son to my city, I'd have your tongue for the 'crazies' remark. However, you've hit the mark." The sword removed itself from his neck, and Roderick let out a breath he hadn’t realized he'd been holding. The elezen resheathed the blade.
"Follow me." He ordered.
-------------------
"You have the bad luck of coming here during a chaotic time." The elezen said, leading Roderick and his chocobo through an underground tunnel. "There was an attempted assassination on the Archbishop. The conspirators are still at large, and as a result, everyone is on edge."
"Shite." Roderick cursed.
"My thoughts excatly." His rescuer came to a stop as they reached the tunnel's opening. Night had fallen, and the sky was clear. "Follow the river, and make a right at the confluence. The road will lead you straight to Gridania. Don't return, the Inquisition has your face now."
"Might I have a name to tender some sort of gratitude?" Roderick asked, swinging himself up onto the saddle. Shadow kewhed softly, bobbing his head.
"Edmont Fortemps. And the only gratitude needed is your body staying clear of the Witchdrop."

Thoughts on Beatrix and Sky’s dynamic during S2? What you think will happen and what you want to see?
Hi anon, thaks for the question! I don' get a lot of these, so I will enjoy this very much I think.
Okay so Sky and Beatrix, hm. My one wish is to see some sibling dynamic, since the writers went with the "he is my adoptive father". We know Bea actually calls Andreas dad, even if she is fully aware he isn't her real father. I believe so, she does take him as a father figure after all. Sky on the other hand - he had different issues to deal with while his dad was "dead". IDK, if I was Sky and I learnt that the evil child who turned Alfea upside-down (also i am looking at Bloom, but it was Bea who put the bug into her head), I wouldn't be happy about being "related". But I am hoping (please writers for S2) to see them interact together. From what I've gathered, Beatrix will interact with Stella at least once in the show. Which could open-up a feud between Sky and Stella about Beatrix. Because who would believe this girl? (me, I would, cuz I am simple a Beatrix simper, guilty).
I want to see Sky comfront Beatrix about this, maybe tell her to lay-off his friends and stay with her little group of pups (Riven and Dane). Which also can be a factor for Sky not liking Beatrix. She basically made Riven changes his persona and alliance (in the begining, then he meets Musa and... oh boy), so for Sky this is also one strike from her. Maybe that is why he comfronts her about Stella. Knowing Beatrix, she wouldn't take this personally and just wave it down, since Sky literally cannot do anything to her. This coming from the fact, Andreas is keeping her safe.
Andreas and Beatrix are probably not the best together (i have a whole long paragraph about these two in my head, and I did a short writting on this as well), but Andreas must care for her at some point. That is why he wouldn't let anything bad happen to her, even if it came to lecturing Sky. Sky and Andreas, man, I wouldn't listen to someone as well, even if they were my real parent, after abandoning me for 17 years. And Andreas being the family man he is, he wants his children to get on with one another, at least to some degree. So I'd like to see Andreas push Beatrix and Sky together, just because it would be horrible at the same time.
And my last wish, which won't come true and is more like a fanfic idea (i think I've written a small part of their conversation once) is Beatrix and Sky coming to terms with each other, having a deeper conversation without anger and rage. But as I am saying, this won't happend and this idea merely lives in my head rent free.
I hope I wrote everything down and it makes just a little sense.

Happy Holidays @blue-aconite ! I'm your Gift Exchange Gifter! Hope you enjoy the fic!
Saul watched his children.
They weren’t his, not really, he wasn’t so daft as to claim ownership. Sky was the only one he knew actually saw him as a father. A few of the other older trainees had once called him “dad” but that was as a joke, and he was fairly certain he wasn’t supposed to have heard.
He watched Sky, like a sunrise, quickly take the spot as top Specialist, followed closely by Riven. Sky was a natural leader, and whenever he looked at the other recruits, it was with the gaze of an older brother, warm and patient. He never intentionally hurt them during training, and when he accidentally did knock them down too hard, or hit them with too much force, he worked extra hard to instruct them on how to dodge, or avoid, or land so that there was less pain. Some days, when the light was just right, Saul could have sworn he was looking at a young Andras, patiently teaching the other Specialists about some new technique.
Saul watched Riven, who adapted to being second with a natural ease that made his desire for acceptance clear. Although Saul had heard rumors about Riven’s… “extracurricular” activities, he knew that Riven was a good kid. Young Dane seemed to have taken to him, viewing both him and Sky with something akin to childlike wonder, and the two were rapidly helping him improve his skills. Saul was expecting him to become the third-ranking member any day now.
Saul watched the girls as well, his surrogate daughters. Terra he knew, because of working with her father. He’d been impressed when she and her friend Musa had saved him, and had told Ben that she was rapidly becoming as good with her abilities as some of the faeries he’d worked with in a more professional capacity. She and Musa worked well together, Terra’s happy, cheerful attitude somewhat tempered by Musa’s cool head. Saul had seen Musa’s staff work—briefly—when she’d faced off with Riven, and he still smiled at the memory of Riven’s half-amused, half-startled face when the mind fairy had reacted so smoothly, cutting him down with a few simple words. Riven didn’t startle easily, and so it was always mildly entertaining when someone caught him off guard.
Stella was as regal and graceful as ever, but there was a new lightness to her that Saul found himself preferring to her previous aloofness. He credited the other girls with that, as he had seen them chatting animatedly together, with Stella smiling a lot more around her roommates than she had the previous year. There was a new comfortableness between her and Sky, and Saul was pleased at how much more friendly the two seemed to be, as opposed to their last break up.
Bloom, who Saul knew without asking was Sky’s newest crush, was as strong as the fire she manipulated. Though his interactions with her were rare, he had heard through the rumor mill how fiercely she fought, both for herself and for her friends.
Saul knew he didn’t need to “watch” Aisha—the water fairy was one of the most level-headed in her year—but still, he did. She was one of the students, and so he considered her “his” as well. She, like Musa, was the voice of reason, and when she explained something, it was in a calm, clear voice that made one stop and listen.
Saul’s eyes roved across the training field, landing on each of his students.
They look so young, he thought, frowning.
A pair of fighters were near his position, and he cast a critical eye over them, snapping out correction and pointing out areas they had left weak. The pair—Tristan and Marie—took the corrections in stride and went through the motions again, glancing at him for approval. Saul nodded and then started wandering the field, pausing to provide praise or criticism as his students needed it.
Riven and Terra were sparring, and Saul watched as Terra used her magic to latch onto Riven’s staff. To Riven’s credit, he let go of the staff once it became clear the vines were too tight, drawing his knife. He came at Terra, who attacked him with more vines, even lifting up his discarded staff and using that to finally knock him off his feet. He lay there, panting, and Saul smiled fondly as the sparring partners grinned at each other.
They’re ready for whatever they face.
The thought, unwanted and unbidden, popped into his head, wiping the smile off of his face.
No. They were too young to face anything just yet. There was a reason the barrier existed, and Saul would be damned before he let anything get through.
Sault turned to face the nearby woods, spotting the faint, telltale shimmer of the barrier. Good, it was still functioning. He prayed it would stay up for years to come, so that the students—his children—could stay safe.
He turned away from the barrier, back toward the training field.
Again, Saul watched his children.

Where Fate: the Winx saga fails
As a winx fan of 14 years (in and out), this fate thing is really scandolous. I’ve seen lots of ups and downs the winx fandom. As I’ve watched all of the development that fate had, I've had some thoughts, but I’ve waited until I watched everything.
This is going to be a reaction to all 6 episodes of Fate the Winx saga. This is coming from a fan of the og show so expect lots of comparisons.
If this bothers you, please don't keep reading. A lot of this is only my opinion. If you like it and think its great, that’s good! I’m not here to ruin it.
There is a list of what I liked most near the bottom of this post. Spoilers Ahead!!
Anyway, back to the post.
What made the Winx work
Lets start with the basic idea of Winx. Bloom, a normal girl, finds out that she has magic powers and is from another dimension. Seems like a simple concept? Well, Seasons 1-3 (and 4?) expanded this idea to the max.
Likeable characters galore and lots of fun, fashion, and magic.
For a lot of us that’s what sold the show.
So lets talk about tone and why its so important
The idea that teenage girls were exploring a world we could never see or experience. And the darkness that came with it.
Remember when Daphne, bloom’s dead sister, clung to life to help bloom figure her life out? When bloom became evil and nearly killed all of her friends? When Flora drowned to save her sister, only to get enchantix? (Actually all of enchantix was like this). When Musa gave up seeing her dead mom to save the world? When nabu died?
The show was full of these small, intense, dark moments. That’s what made winx special. The light came with dark.
By making the show dark and “eDgy” it takes away the impact of the dark moments. I’ve been saying this since the beginning.
Point of view and how Stella is affected
Stella was very misunderstood in the remake and it shows. The thing is, Stella was the first entry point into the magical world in the original show. She carried Bloom and her parents to Alfea. She was the transfer point to a whole world for the audience.
Her spunk and optimism and snark made her a fan favorite, but that’s not what made her character work.
She was Bloom’s first friend, and because of the that, we saw her in a good lens. She was reckless, but a pure heart nonetheless. She was confident, cunning, and powerful.
It was because we saw the good in her first that made us like her. She was good before she was bad in our eyes.
The remake takes all of that away. She’s just a generic mean rich girl now. To be honest, Stella is accurate, but the way she was introduced put her in a whole new light. In this version, she is annoying and trifling, seemingly taking the place of Diaspro in her liking for sky.
Also she hates her mother? Stella would never! She loved both of her parents dearly and was mad simply because she felt they never loved her as a result of their divorce; they never talked to each other and she felt split between the two of them. (See Stella’s nightmares sequence season 1 :https://youtu.be/wuvyw0OHA6A?t=129). She was lonely and her father, though he loved her, spoiled her with gifts instead of the love she desired.
You see this side of her when Chimera comes in and tries to take her place in season 3. Her worth is tied to what she has and looks like. Her title as a princess rules her.
Not only that, Stella learns about “commoners” through her friends. She was spoiled and never saw people who couldn’t afford things; it was new and she was a bit rude about it, but can you blame her, she was always put above everything else in her home country.

https://www.youtube.com/post/UgzCfOQ696rvwa51Z_J4AaABCQ?lc=Ugxl_sOsUSGBXEwagxJ4AaABAg
^^ These are comments of people saying similar things.
Stella also vents to Sky a lot in the remake. She seems like she is chasing him pitifully, something og Stella would never do.
Edit: Check the “liked” section; she has been upgraded to sort of like in episodes 5 and 6.
Aisha
They did Aisha dirty as well. (Just like Bonnie from Vampire Diaries, why am I surprised?) I would write a lot here, but someone else summarized it well:
https://rainbow-whitewashing-jar.tumblr.com/post/639787632624369664/its-just-there-is-so-much-background-on-aisha.
https://www.youtube.com/post/Ugx4WL5rIPTS1suGOed4AaABCQ
Tldr: Aisha was a very lonely princess of Andros. She only had one friend growing up but then they moved away and she was lonely all over again. She copes with her princess duties by being great at sports and even beating some of the men! She stood up to her parents when they wanted her to be arranged married, until she fell in love with Nabu HERSELF. She decided her own future from that point on.
Also, her relevance to the plot has been dwindled to being Bloom's right hand man; the black best friend sterotype! What a let down for one of the PRINCESSES of the original!
She had her own goals, drive, and motivations in the original! She did things for all of her friends; she definitely wasn't only driven by one person!
And she was closer to Musa than Bloom that's for sure!
Bloom
The fact that bloom transforms before everyone else gives bad vibes, considering that one of the reasons she was insecure about magic was because everyone of her friends was better than her and could transform. Why would she feel insecure when they are all around the same level?
The theme of sisterhood
Ever notice that none of the girls had the same taste in guys?
Bloom liked goody guys like Sky and Andy. Stella liked guys who were fun and flirty like Brandon.
In fact, none of the girls ever fought over a guy, they fought over things that actually mattered like someone being rude or a mission gone wrong.
That's what made them relatable. They weren't petty about guys and they mostly respected each other's relationships.
https://www.youtube.com/post/Ugz6TEOmGRV2Cfqy12F4AaABCQ?lc=UgwhLsToVbhLDYpFphB4AaABAg
^^ Look at highlighted comment
Not only that, but the winx represented a positive sisterhood. They stood by each other and respected each other; they never let men come between them and shared their power with each other.
Only the trix, the bad sisterhood, fought over men and power. The trix were foils to the winx and what they stood for! That's what made them some of the best villains in the series!
Instead of that, we get useless relationship drama! 😒
And that brings me to...
Stella/Sky/Bloom & Riven/Dane/Terra
What was the point of Dane? I'm still asking myself that question. He doesn't really do anything except act as relationship fuel for a love triangle.
Don't get me wrong, the representation is needed. But he adds nothing to the real plot at all except that Terra thinks he likes her, and he has a crush on Riven.
In terms of the Stella and Bloom love triangle with Sky, apparently she BLINDED someone because they flirted with sky. What?!? Stella isn't that cruel at all. The show clearly flanderized her to a cruel mean girl so....
Edit: Check the “liked” section; she has been upgraded to sort of like in episodes 5 and 6.
Lets not forget about “diversity”
Male fairies did exist before Fate:

Flora/Terra, Musa, and Whitewashing
Terra and Musa are wonderful! Their actress' do a great job; their personalities are so similar to the original (except for musa's mind abilities and Terra's talkative personality)! Whenever one of them interacts with the other main cast, you feel actual friendship chemistry between them!!
But there is an elephant in the room: the whitewashing. If these characters were the correct race, they wouldn't be in this critical review.
Terra isn't flora, but her character was clearly based on her! Also, she has a cousin named Flora, so Flora is clearly in this universe.
??
Why change her race and swap her out! The personalities are spot on, which makes it even more disheartening to know that they would rather replace two POC characters with white characters who essentially are the same people and have the same plot importance.
What a shame and low blow that is! Especially since I am a black woman myself!
Sky and Riven
Them being bros make no sense really. Before they were more like enemies who were forced to work together.
Why are they friends?? What's the backstory?
Other than that, sky is pretty spot on. He's the pretty boy with good intentions. Not interesting but not very boring either.
Riven is cringy like I feared. He was also sort of cringe in the og but because of the darker setting in the remake he just feels even more so.
Other Criticisms:
- we gets some pretty cringy dialogue (mostly from riven). Some of the clingy dialogue (not from riven) ironically could have worked in a lighter setting and become "campy".
- The fact that there are no wings for 5 whole episodes, just makes the entire thing feel like Witches or something...
- why does everyone have the dead parent trope??
- no tecna
Things I do like:
- bloom missing her parents and feeling left out
- Musa and Sam before Musa and Riven (hopefully)
- Terra in general
- Terra’s dad and brother
- Musa in general
- Stella funny quips
- the scenery is gorgeous
- Stella's clothes are so fashionable! She has great outfits!
- Sky and Bloom taking during the party and/or being friendly with each other
- the magic cgi looks good 👍
- the rooms of the girls dorms and the castle looks great on the inside
- Aisha's personality
- Farrah Dowling is good as well
- Bloom is pretty spot on
- Stella's mom's powers are awesome
- imagine the genocide plot but with the happy fun show vibe and with the trix. The trix want to get revenge on faragonda for killing their cult, who wanted to revive the ancestral witches or something💥💥💥
- Stella in episodes 5 and 6 is cool
- the inclusion of the witches of aster dell (Beatrix said she was born there = witch)
- the inclusion of musa’s mother’s death
-Her transformation was lackluster to me, but I appreciated the effort to include it.
Conclusion
The pacing was all over the place to me; it felt like some episodes lasted forever and all of them seemed to have the vague theme of : be careful who you trust.
By trying to separate the winx from the og and have them have "their own lives" (which they already had), they ruined the intriguing backstories the characters already had in the og. Some were somewhat kept, but others were kind of left in the dust *cough*Aisha*cough*.
They took away with made them special: the teamwork, love, and friendship that brought them together and made them stronger. *They try it in episodes 5 and 6, but to me it just falls sort of flat.*
That said it isn't completely bad, it's mediocre at best, but it isn't Winx and that's that.
Edit: I know that it’s not supposed to be winx per say, but it has characters from the og and even the “winx” name in the title!

Any headcanons about how the couples interact with their SO’s family and what their relationships are like?
Hmm, Tecna, being the confident young woman she is, just decides that Timmy’s family will like her and so they do. Timmy is more nervous about meeting her parents but since they raised Tecna they like him and have confidence in her ability to choose a partner.
I think Radius sees Brandon and just assumes he’s a boyfriend du jour of Stella’s and so doesn’t mind him but is also surprised that he sticks around. Luna can tell that her daughter is head over heels for Brandon and so treats him like a son-in-law accordingly. Brandon’s parents are probably a bit wary of Stella, she has a bit of reputation (eg blowing up a lab) but since she’s so charming they warm up to her quickly.
Sky’s parents hate Bloom and are wondering when he’ll realise Diaspro is a better match. Vanessa is charmed by Sky and Mike likes him, although is not expecting the relationship to last (because 17yos) and so is ready to tell Bloom that he didn’t deserve her as soon as things go south.
Musa’s dad is wary of her rocky relationship with Riven but the two did some male bonding early on in Musa and Riven’s relationship so he likes him in spite of that. Riven’s mum is out of the picture and his dad doesn’t really recognise his son’s partners outside of him having one.
Obviously Helia and Flora have absolute won over the other’s family. They’re both just lovely people. Flora’s grandma might have thought he was a bit pretentious when they first met but she’s past that now.
We know that Aisha and Nabu had to have been approved by each other’s families because of the arranged marriage. As for Nex, I don’t think he’s met the king and queen of Andros, and Aisha is planning of changing that anytime soon. I always kind of saw Nex as her fuckbuddy to help her deal with grief.

Favorite place in The Last City(if it’s a place you created, give a little description!): The Hollow Cairn. This is a place where many once-invading species have attacked throughout history, and it has sunken into the ground since due to the massive destruction created over centuries. However, the place has since become a point of unity for everyone, with communities of Hive, Cabal, Humans, Eliksni, etc. all building shelters within the crater and living together. It’s a bustling district, and only because Magnus sacrificed so much of himself and his efforts to unify everyone.

Least favorite exotic armor: One-Eyed Mask
5 things your Guardian dislikes(this can be anything): Dishonesty, disloyalty, feeling hopeless, giving up, loss
Your Guardian has to rest. What is their living space like: It’s well-managed, with a LOT of collectibles from all around the galaxy in display cases, organized on shelves and wall hangers, and on tables. Magnus loves to collect trinkets that have meaning to him.
Does your Guardian have any casual wear?(Y'all remember Polyvore? The website URSTYLE works very similar if that helps!):
Tumblr media
What hobbies and/or skills does you Guardian have: Writing and reciting poetry, learning languages (speaks English, Ulurent, Eliksni all fluently), fighting, crafting armor, singing
What would your Guardian’s lore book be called: Broken Broker
Where was your Guardian reborn?(If you created the location, give us a little description!): Sector 25 in The Last City
What were they wearing when they were reborn: Scorched black cotton hoodie, worn-out black jeans, beat-up sneakers
What was their reaction to being reborn: FIGHT, AND DEFEND THE PEOPLE!!!
What was their reaction to their first rez: Sheer confusion, then immediate duty
After being reborn, did they meet friendlies first or hostiles: Both. He met Vex who were attacking and rampaging The Last City, but fought them and was then met by Zavala who’d come to handle the situation, only to see a new Guardian had already done this. Zavala saw the distress on Magnus’s face at this, and assured him over and over again.
Who was the first other Guardian they met?(Same thing! If you made them, give a little description!): Zavala
Did your Guardian get reborn with, or find, any indication of their past life? If so what do they have/found: Magnus has no indication of his past life, and knows nothing about it. He assumes he wasn’t Reefborn, but he partially wonders if he was just because of his vehement hatred for Mara Sov. Magnus can’t find anything on who he was, nor does he really care to know.
How did your Guardian get their name(if they didn’t rez with past life momentos): He knew/remembered it, and also Einar addressed him by “Magnus” when he was first revived and woke up.
Going back to your Guardian’s lore book, what would be some some quotes or passages from their book: Two passages are actually readable at my Ao3, dawnbreakerdystopia! Most of the lorebook passages would recount the tales of Magnus’s efforts to join the warring species of the galaxy together in unity, and would likely use the Hammer of Sol which he wields as a metaphor, leading those who read them to wonder if Magnus actually wielded it (he does). The passages would also recount the daring exploits he’s done to protect his friends, family, the training he put Ghaul through to be a strong and independent Guardian, and overall they’d just be written like poetic legends.
Does your Guardian have a significant other: Cayde-6, and they’re married.
Did your Guardian go explore first before going to The Last City? If so, where to: Magnus never explored until he was resurrected.
What was their reaction to first seeing The Last City: This place needs defenders.
Is your Guardian a part of a clan: Not officially. He’s sort of a part of every group regardless of whether he chooses to be or not. Life finds a way to drag him into them all.
Does your Guardian’s clan have a back story? If so, what is it?(if you want to or able to share): N/A
If your Guardian would have a quote as a flavor text for a weapon and/or piece of armor, what would they be: “I’ve got a thousand years on me, and for each year, a million lives. I can’t bear to sacrifice any one but my own.”
If your Guardian has had any interactions with any civilians (The Last City/The Farm), Eliksni, Cabal, Vex, Hive, Taken, Scorn, Rouge Lightbearers, or Iron Lords/War Lords(if your Guardian is an Old Light) tell us about it!: Magnus has unified Cabal and Humankind, mostly, because he was brought by the Traveler to Ghaul who was resurrected as a Guardian himself. He’s had plenty of rough encounters with them, but nowadays, they accept him as their Evocate General, and bend to his every command (Magnus NEVER abuses this). Magnus has had very few positive interactions with Hive, as Savathun and Oryx have constantly tried to seduce him with Darkness and ruin him. He struggles to trust Hive, but knows that there is good in everything just as there is bad, nothing is inherently evil, and thus, he has to and does accept Hive who are willing to be his allies. Magnus’s interactions with Eliksni have always been positive, and he’s always gotten along with them. Scorn and Vex, he has yet to meet any who’d be willing to work with him. Magnus personally hates the Vex entirely, but still holds out the belief that there is at least one out there who’s good and friendly.
Does your Guardian have any unconventional allies or connections(By Vanguard standards): PLENTY!!!! Ghaul, Spider, being Evocate General of Cabal, you name it.
How does your Guardian feel about themselves or others using Stasis: Magnus is against himself using it. He understands that others can make use of the power, but he HATES the Darkness, and would never trust a single thing from it, let alone a “gift” which would inevitably corrupt him, not to mention bring him nearer to it which he refuses to do.
Did they run The Last Wish raid? How did they react to seeing a live Ahamkara a.k.a Riven: Magnus has not run this raid yet.
Did they run The Deep Stone Crypt raid? How did they react to the Crypt and seeing Exo Eliskni: Magnus has not run this raid yet, either.
Is your Guardian from D1? How did they react to seeing Taniks alive once again: He’s not from D1
Where did they go and what did they do during The Red War: Magnus followed the main story, and was the only Lightbearer, thus he spearheaded the entire operation and literally held the fate of every single life on his shoulders and his alone. He fought, nonstop, and never gave up or slowed down.
Here are some characters that are either polarizing or have created a strong enough mass emotion within the community. What opinion does your Guardian hold on each of them(These are only a handful of characters!)>>>
Osiris, First Warlock Vanguard, originally exiled: Magnus looks up to Osiris for his wisdom, only a little, though, and he’d never tell Osiris this. Both of them know it, though, and words are not necessary to convey their mutual respect.
Eris Morn, Bane of the Swarm: He loves her, he wants to help her at all costs, and he knows to never pity Eris, or try protecting her without asking if she needs protection first, as she’s highly capable and strong-willed.
Cayde-6, Sixth Hunter Vanguard: Magnus is fucking head over HEELS for him, and would lay his life on the line for Cayde. He was devastated beyond words when Uldren killed him, but came to understand that it was the Darkness’s doing, not Uldren’s. And thus, he forgave him.
Ikora Rey, Second Warlock Vanguard: Mom. She’s just straight-up his mom.
Commander Zavala, Second Titan Vanguard: Mentor, dad-like friend, always reliable.
Saint-14, legendary Titan, First Titan Vanguard: Extreme respect, love, honors him deeply, aspires to be like him, MUST PROTECT!!!
Lord Saladin, Iron Banner handler, One of the last remaining Iron Lords: Indifferent. Magnus entirely disagrees with and somewhat hates what the Iron Lords did, but he senses good in Saladin and sees it as well. He holds onto that good, as he does for everything and everyone.
Lord Shaxx, Crucible handler, Hero of Twilight Gap, living megaphone: FRIEND!!! Always a good motivator, always reliable, selfless af which Magnus respects, and Magnus aspires to be so much like him. Is also slightly intimidated by Shaxx.
The Crow, New Light, Ex-Enforcer to The Spider: Friend, must be protected, is a new person and not Uldren, is capable of great things and must be guided to do just that. Magnus sees Crow follows his heart, and that’s more than enough for him to know this man is on the right path.
The Spider, The Shore’s Only Law, founder of “House” Spider: DAD!!! Spider adopted Magnus after (reluctantly at first) he went to Spider with a bounty from the Vanguard saying to kill him. Magnus knew this had to be a setup, it was, and Spider was immediately thankful, and then began calling Magnus his son. Both of them trust each other with everything and anything, and Magnus knows Spider is a good man at heart.
Uldren Sov, Prince of the Reef, Master of Crows: No. Don’t trust him, he’s misguided as FUCK!
Mara Sov, Queen of the Reef, Queen of the Awoken, Ex-Kell of Wolves: FUCK! YOU!!! Magnus would throw her off the throne and take it himself if he wasn’t so busy being Evocate General. He’d imprison her until her natural death. The things Mara has done, to the Awoken, the galaxy, and her brother, are unforgiveable, and she MUST pay for that.
Variks, the Loyal, founder of House Judgement: A friend, an ally, someone Magnus can rely on. He values Variks, even if he made mistakes in the past, but Magnus is a firm believer in destiny, and thus thinks Variks’s actions have been done for a reason which is to bring the world to the present it’s at.
Mithrax, the Forsaken, Kell of Light, founder of House Light: Absolutely reliable, always a good friend, Magnus will drop everything and go help protect Mithrax or aid him in his endeavors if he’s able. Magnus loves him as a close friend, and is deeply bound to House Light.
The Exo Stranger/Elizabeth “Elsie” Bray, Granddaughter of Clovis I and Sister to Ana Bray: Can be trusted, must be trusted, and Magnus also takes pity on her for what she went through both in the future, and by the hands of Clovis Bray.
Eramis, of House Salvation, Kell of Darkness: FUCK NOPE, don’t trust, avoid at all costs.
Empress Caiatl of the Cabal Imperial Empire: An ally and definitely trustable. Her motives are questionable, but Magnus understands where she’s coming from, and therefore believes she can be a great companion with some compromise.
Taniks the Scarred, the Perfected, the Abomination, the Shadow Thief: Nooooooooooooo get away get away get away GET AWAY!!!
The Darkness is fast approaching. How is your Guardian handling it: A N X I E T Y! !! !!!! ! !! But Magnus is taking action, fighting it head-on and never backing down for even a moment. He refuses to let the Darkness take hold, and aims to destroy it entirely once and for all.
And finally, does your Guardian have any advice for any New Lights: “The Darkness is a lie, but the Light is true. Nobody can see in the shadows of night, so it’s your duty as a Guardian to eclipse the world in endless sun, and create a world everyone can see within and beyond.”

Fate Winx Saga Review
Tumblr media
This is the Winx Club
Tumblr media
This isn't
Ah Winx Club, I remembering waking up early in the morning to watch it on Saturday, I thought that it was a cool show and my favorite character was Bloom during the first three seasons when it was under 4Kids. I thought that the characters were cool, the setting was pretty awesome as well and overall it was fun. Years later I was pretty shocked that it is still going on though from what I heard it has lost a lot of it’s quality with season eight being a mixed bag and an okay art style. Now Netflix has acquired the rights and there were two separate shows that they produce.
The first being World of Winx, an animated spin off show showing the girls hiding out on earth helping people and dealing with an evil version of Tinkerbell? In all honesty I was a little confused like how was this a spin off? Was it a spin off from season four as Roxy is a supporting character in this universe? That part confused me but overall it was a pretty good show but at this point I don’t think Winx Club fans wouldn’t mind a reboot that got the She-Ra treatment. Needless to say Winx Club is a popular show that was big in Italy and other countries but it is not what it used to be. Especially when we have this show to talk about Fate: A Winx Saga.
When I first saw the trailer I was pretty confused because none of the shots in the trailer reminded me of Winx Club. Also none of the characters were recognizable as they white washed and replaced Flora, and also white washed Musa. The only three characters that were recognizable were Bloom, Stella and Aisha. However there personalities have changed so much that I can’t even say that this is a faithful adaptation. I know in adaptations there has to be certain changes that you have to make because either to budget or they can’t fit it in and some stuff has to be cut. The least the show could do was get the fashion right, I mean the only one who should be wearing red is Musa while Bloom is the one that wears different shades of blue. Then again the fashion overall is a big joke and they really should fire the costume designer as I looked and she has had no experience dressing up teenagers. Rants out of the way lets see how they butchered the characters.
Let’s start with the leading Pyromaniac herself, Bloom. What the hell did they do to my girl? As a fellow redhead myself it is safe to say Bloom was the one I lean towards to the most even though I did see myself in Tecna, and Flora. Bloom is a stuck up bitch in this show and has to make it all about her, which was one of the problems in some of season four and later on. She is also unbelievably gullible and really stupid. She basically believes anything that Beatrix, a psychopath and a known liar about the whole Not Domino city, yeah I don’t care about the name of this said city in other world. She is a problematic Pyromaniac something that cartoon Bloom season 1-3 would be horrified about, and surprisingly bland.
Now, this Bloom could have worked if there were either more episodes or just better writers. Think about it, she is a girl who discovers that she has these unknown powers and when her emotions get the better of her and harm her family she could be a little distant and closed off. She is angry and confused because she doesn’t understand what is happening which can lead her to feeling a lot of emotions. Though I do hate the fact that they ruined Mike and Vanessa but I forgot that this is a teen drama and as a teen drama parents are assholes, it is the law of teen television. There could have been a nice arc of Bloom dealing with the fact that she has been lied to her entire life, feeling angry and betrayed but then going back to the Bloom we love from the first three seasons as she realized that she was the same person, she just now has a place where she can feel at home while also having awesome fire powers. However we got the worst of Bloom that is shown post season five.
Now lets get to Stella, and I will try my best to contain my rage when I am writing this. Did a person who worked on this show really thought that it would be a great idea to change Stella and make her Diaspro? You know we could’ve added Diaspro and Stella in the same show, she and Stella could’ve been friends due to the two girls being royalty, but then both Stella and Sky would realize that she is a toxic person and break away from her. This is not Stella and the cartoon Stella wouldn’t be caught dead in some of the outfits that she was wearing, maybe the last episode outfit but that’s about it. They could’ve done something with her wardrobe, they could have her dress up as a old woman when her mother was around trying to impress her, and then dress up in clothes that the original Stella is known to wear. Stella is a stereotypical mean girl and there is nothing nuanced about her portrayal. This is not Stella this is Diaspro with Stella’s name.
Now let’s get on to Aisha, she is a fine characters but this isn’t Aisha as she has none of Aisha’s personality she is not even a princess of Andros and well she has no story outside of helping her white friend. Aisha was a standout of season two and had one of the best character entrances in the series. She doesn’t get a story of her own and she is relegated to just being the best friend that get’s Bloom out of trouble. The actress Precious Mustapha deserves way better than what they are giving her.
Now it is time for everybody’s favorite white-washed duo Terra/Flora and Musa. There have been videos and posts that are going over how stupid Netflix and Rainbow for doing this. Just to give everybody context, Musa’s appearance is based off of Lucy Liu and Flora is based off of Jennifer Lopez. I think that speaks for itself in how Netflix and Rainbow screwed this up especially when there are plus size Latinix actresses they could have casted. Now let’s get into their character, weirdly enough they are the ones that have the most interesting friendship dynamic, Terra is a fine character but she is not Flora and Musa is a lot more cold hearted and instead of being a fairy of music she is a mind fairy who is an empath. Now music in a way can evoke emotions and connect people on a deep level but her empathic powers are so undefined. Terra is a fine enough character and her family is pretty interesting.
Now lets get into the boys, Sky, Riven, Dane, and Sam. If there is one thing that I could applaud the show is that anyone can be a fairy or a specialist, it’s just a pity that they excluded the witches. Then again the witches do get the short end of the stick even in the cartoon. Sky is bland, and the actor only ever had one expression throughout the whole show. Riven is, well Riven has always been a jerk but cartoon Riven had some more well likable features than TV show Riven. Dane, he’s fine I would have liked him more if he wasn’t taking so many stupid pills when it came to Riven and Beatrix, boy he needs to find a better man to crush on becuase, Riven is not worth it at all, even if I didn’t like his performance I could definitely see him crushing on Sky way more than Riven. Sam is a fun character and I was glad to see a male fairy added to the school but that’s all I can say about him the boys are okay. If there was one thing that I enjoyed about World of Winx is that they didn’t include the boys and there was nothing lost from it, it was just the girls kicking ass and taking names.
There is not much to say about the school staff and Dowling is a fine character that is a lot like Faragonda, only really ever helps Bloom and reassuring her she is special. I wish there was more done with Terra’s father and all but nope any positive family interaction is bad in a teen show. Overall the school staff, I don’t think that we can even call them a school staff they were a joke.
Now let’s get into the villains, if there is one thing that fans of the first four season can agree on is that the villains were always a standout for each season one. That being said the only effective villain is Beatrix, even though they could have just done the Trix. Let me just say this, The Trix were a great villain for the first season and well they went downhill like the whole cartoon show. Also what is the deal with Rosalind and Sky’s father. To be fair Sky’s dad in the cartoon show has always been a jerk but a jerk that raised a psychopath like Beatrix is too much. I am a little nervous about how they will do if they actually introduce The Trix, Lord Darkar, and Valtor or even the Wizard’s of the Black Circle. Needless to say the villains were just bland.
That is if they actually even use the villains from the cartoon show because so far we have the rather bland Rosalind, I just don’t care for her and there is no need for her to be in the show, Daphne does not deserve this. Then there is Sky’s father and I don’t care and Luna and wow does every teen show have to have terrible parents. How is a cartoon show from the early 2000s is more diverse and interesting than this? I just don’t care at all about the villains except for Beatrix.
There is also the fact that the show is only six episodes and that really does hinder the show as the show could’ve used more episodes to flesh things out then maybe just maybe this show would’ve been interesting. I also see that there are some writers and producers from the Vampire Diaries that are attached to this project and well that explains why some aspects of the show seems dated. Overall Fate, is a bland show that definitely does have better writing than Riverdale but that is not saying much. The characters are bad, and the fashion is terrible something that was a main aspect of the show. The world is generic getting rid of the epic sci-fi fantasy world and Rainbow should’ve just rebooted the animated show.

Season 1 Episode 5: Wither Into the Truth [Part Two]
Hate that they've decided since Riven is getting a redemption arc Dane is getting the edgy "bad-boy" music
Also it's fucking ridiculous that they've decided the young, black, bisexual guy is going evil while the homophobic, misogynistic white man is actually just a sadboy who never wanted to be here and just needed someone who would listen to his feelings
"One bad thing" you PUBLICLY mocked her for being fat and liking you. YOU'RE A FUCKING DICK, DANE, DON'T PUT THIS ON TERRA
Going absolutely INSANE over the fact Aisha just used her magic spray Dane in the face
Silva would DEFINATELY sacrifice the few for the many Sky, come on
Imma say that Bloom's town created the Burned Ones and any fire fairies have a connection to them, which is why they disappeared after the Incident and why Bloom was taken out of the fairy realm and Beatrix wasn't. But now she's back and so are they, and also, let's be honest, Rosalind probs only saved her to try and control the Burned Ones
There are torches Bloom, why did you light the ground on fire
And Bloom and Sky are kissing. I just... don't care
Oop magic disc is GLOWING
LMAO SHE DRUGGED HIMMM
Oh Noura's fucking dead
Oh shit that's a LOT of Burned Ones
"I have feelings - and if I can't express them verbally, I'm not above poltergeisting" THIS IS THE STELLA WE DESERVE AND THE ONE WE COULD (AND SHOULD) HAVE HAD ALL ALONG
Okay so I hate this show but I am literally BEGGING someone to gif the "*snap* I have an opinion" moment and let me download it to use for everything because it's so important to me. Genuinely guys please can someone give me that gif idk how to make it myself and it's literally the entirity of this blog summed up in a single moment
Dowling's face when Bloom said "Asterdel" LMAO this woman did NOT need this today
PLEASE give us backstory Fara
Fara, Rosalind and Greenhouse man have THAT MUCH POWER?? Shit, man
"Why would she do that" because Rosalind is a shady👏bitch👏
"I will help you get the answers you need. I give you my word" she seemed to mean that so... Dowling's gonna die
Beatrix is NOT okay and clearly has 0 independent thought who the FUCK raised her to be like this
Why is Bloom happy to see Stella y'all haven't had a SINGLE positive interaction for the entire show
This writer has never had an actual friend in his life and I know this because THIS IS WHAT HE THINKS FRIENDSHIP IS
Yep send the kids out to defend Alfea. Good planning, lads
Once again, super unnatural dialogue. Dowling doesn't need to describe what she's doing it would have been obvious from... the sounds of the forest getting amplified
So Aisha's snitching. After they deliberately wrote the line with her saying 'no, she isn't Dowling's pet, she was in fact actively spying for Bloom because that's how much she cares about her'. Because he is literally INCAPABLE of writing the black woman as a consistant character, oh no, instead she just becomes whatever he decides he wants for that scene. And the worst part is - you had a character that would have snitched! Terra! Terra could have easily told her dad who would then tell the rest of them, all without breaking her predefined character. But no, of course Aisha should be the one to break because CLEARLY he doesn't value her character at all
Lmao you're using Dane to spring the trap?
LMAO STELLA'S USING BEATRIX YES STELLA
"See? My ideas rock" THIS is accurate Stella rep, lads
That was clearly supposed to be a callback to Terra saying she missed Stella insulting her but it just felt super weird and forced. Who the FUCK let this man write
How do you know it's that door there's a whole other tunnel??
Also I swear when Beatrix came down here it was just like... a stairwell into a room? What happened????
Cave walls straight to brick, of course
Hello Roz you sneaky motherfucker
HATE the mind talking but here we are
[One episode left. Thank GOD it's almost over]

For Nyx and Nerdia, 31, 32, 39, and 45
31. Describe a scenario in which your character feels most comfortable.
Nyx: this is interesting bc i think nyx’s general idea of her and eris’ life and upbringing has been greatly upended and impacted by joining the delrose, adventuring with a goal, seeing a crew like xarus, thalia, casda, and riven that care about each other rather than the ones the twins have witnessed and been a part of that’d just as quickly throw you into the cloudsea for the right price. a few months ago it really would’ve been anywhere with eris by her side where she can count all the exits, but i think the bar has been raised? a long-winded way of saying i think nyx right now is generally a little uncomfortable everywhere because she’s adjusting to the idea that she and eris have had it really fucked up and have the chance to do things better and be more comfortable and have people to trust. ideally in the future her most comfortable scenario will be one where she does have more of a community than just eris to rely on bc that means it won’t just be the two of them desperately clawing at survival anymore.
Nerida: i think as nerida has settled and had less to run/be afraid of since her childhood, meals have become very important to her (all that time running from her pissed elemental dad, family dinners were kinda exactly what she and her mom were trying to avoid), esp hosting or cooking for the party, any moment of respite in the keep when they’re all together in those anxious moments before an adventure, the triumphant buzz after a successful one, or just in some downtime sharing a meal equals “everything is good, and we’re safe in this moment. this is family, and we’re all here looking at each other and laughing and eating. look i made this for you and it’s meant to be consumed and bring you a bit of joy.” it’s that warmth of passing home-cooked dishes around the table <3
32. Describe a scenario in which your character feels most uncomfortable.
Nyx: at this point being alone makes nyx very uncomfortable because of how rocked her perception of her life and world is, and being alone means she really has to confront how she feels about what’s happening on her adventures and what she really wants out of life rather than just running onto the next thing without thinking
Nerida: as much wild, bitter, dangerous confidence as nerida puts into communicating with eldath. any interaction with their god certainly puts a pit in their stomach she’s trying to weigh down.
39. Has your character ever been bitten by an animal? How were they affected (or unaffected)?
Nyx: you know the first thing nyx did when those pirates scooped her and eris up and took them to some big island city was chase some dogs around the street, and not knowing how to interact with animals but thinking they were really cute accidentally cornered them out of curiosity, leading to her getting bitten. i think when she was younger and didn’t understand why they’d done that she had a fear of them or thought they were all mean, but the absolute second she realized they felt threatened by her she felt so guilty she now always makes an effort to feed strays she might see in stopover cities
Nerida: animals have Tried and Failed to get through that plate babeyy, seriously though i don’t see nerida doing anything even accidentally to provoke an animal,, maybe an angry weasel or something she was trying to pet through a cage on an expedition with JV but they wouldn’t hold it against it
45. What does your character believe will happen to them after they die? Does this belief scare them?
Nyx: nyx doesn’t have any fully fledged thoughts on the afterlife or the gods in particular, nor does she really care about what might happen to her when she dies. what she does care about is every horrific sign prophetically pointing to her death throughout the campaign and the fact that she with the utmost confidence while shaking internally pinky promised her twin sister that she wasn’t going anywhere, and without nyx around she can’t make sure eris is safe (we love becoming a fighter 2 protect ur chaotic stupid bard sister until it’s Sad As Hell)
Nerida: OOOOOH BOY nerida has Zero clue what happens to a paladin who has been wish-spell tied to a goddess for about ten years, thus avoiding death many times over when they were actually supposed to go and now likely has a hit out on her from multiple deities of the death domain when they die, but it’ll sure be exciting. less of a “don’t care” and more of a “there’s really no way to know the answer to this complicated cosmological afterlife maze i’ve found myself in”,, wearing a “death deities want me. fish fear me” (bc she’s a water genasi askjgl) hat with a little kissy face at all times. she has genuinely made peace with the fact that she’s living on borrowed time though, and while they might be a little scared they know it’s probably good for the universe to be balanced or whatever.

What are your winx couple headcanons?
Other questions about relationships also answered below
Like how they interact? I talked a little bit about the canon dynamics in an ask-dump here but I’ll write a little more and copy paste stuff here lol
BLOOM AND SKY:  so bloom and sky aren’t the most stable couple, and in my version it would take bloom a little longer to be ok with dating a prince. Bloom is fairly insecure in her relationships because of self worth issues, and tend to run away from problems instead of dealing with them. Sky on the other hand is confident but doesn’t really know how to handle people’s feelings and tends to push confrontation. Bloom is also prefers to move a little slower than Sky would maybe prefer, like he’s good with their relationship and tries not to push Bloom or make her upset but he’d probably like to be married already lol. Bloom and Sky have figured out that if they’re having conflict issues, one of the best things to do is for them to write out whats bothering them and send letters/texts/emails back and forth. This gives Bloom a safe space and time to process her emotions, and lets Sky express his opinion with out getting to intense and pushing for Bloom to talk to him. They’ve taken to doing this with non-conflict thingies too, like its not out of the norm for Sky to receive a wax sealed envelope with a beautifully calligraphied message on parchment that simply says Bloom saw a super fluffy dog that day lol
STELLA AND BRANDON:  They love each other so much its the best omg. Stella finds her worth in her appearance but she always seems to take Brandon’s complements in a less…. arrogant way? if that makes sense? like she truly appreciates them and wants his support. I wish we knew more about Brandon but he’s legit such a good boyfriend. I think they fight mostly when Stella is being a little selfish, or when Brandon is too busy to meet her emotional needs. I think Brandon and Stella are the kind of couple that could be married for years and still feel like they’re on their honeymoon, They would probably get married because of societal pressure but if Stella wasn’t a princess they wouldn’t bother with the ceremony since it wouldn’t change their devotion to each other. They flirt with other people pretty casually but neither would EVER cheat or go any further than idle compliments. Stella’s fear of being alone/disliked is still present, but Brandon will generally just pick up some chocolate, put on a movie and let Stella do his nails or hair or make-up whenever she’s feeling down. Stella was perfectly fine with Brandon not being a prince, she came to terms with the situation a lot faster than Bloom did. However, she does try to make sure Brandon knows she’s with him for him. One of Stella’s main love languages is gifts, and Brandon does appreciate it, but his main love language is actually acts of service, so sometimes he feels a little underappreciated (if Stella doesn’t pick up on this Sky will and let her know). In which case Stella will sneakily figure out what he needs and will take care of it (shopping for a new coat? done. its super flattering and makes his eyes pop. mess hall cleaning duty at Red Fountain? she’ll do it(with some magical assistance). he doesn’t have time to make himself lunch? she will try her best but it might be safer for her to order him some take out) Like Stella is silly, excitable, and can be self centered but she loves her people and wants to make sure they know that.
FLORA AND HELIA:  So Helia is more of a drama queen in the comics but we’ll ignore that for right now lol. Flora and Helia are probably the least problematic couple in the entire show. They met. Flirted a little. Confessed. and started dating with out any major problems. I think both Helia and Flora’s love language is quality time so they’re fairly low key and just like to be in the same space with each other. Unfortunately their issues stem from both of them being passive aggressive. Like Flora doesn’t want to cause problems or upset anyone, and Helia just doesn’t freaking talk. This can lead to slow simmering fights that build until one of them blows up. They learn to catch the signs of that starting earlier and earlier tho, so they’re both learning its better to bring up an issue earlier if its gonna be a problem later. Flora thinks Helia would be happier as a full time artist than as a warrior or mage, but knows he needs to come to his own conclusion.
TECNA AND TIMMY:  They’re super cute honestly. I think Timmy was probably the one to instigate the relationship and bonded with Tecna over technology since she wasn’t super emotionally available at first. They have issues when Tecna is unable to voice her emotions and Timmy needs to know what she’s feeling mostly, but after the first few times they’ve both learned to give the other space to figure their stuff out. Timmy will ask Tecna to use Emoji’s if she’s having a really difficult time figuring out what she’s feeling. He knows its not fair to Tecna but Timmy sometimes feels a little resentful because she’s had a fairly easy life, access to top rate tech, rich parents, stable environment, and barely had to study, while Timmy scrapped and saved and had to learn fast because of his environment.(his home isn’t exactly unsafe, but asteroid colonies are nomadic by nature which mean a certain level of instability is part of living in one)
MUSA AND RIVEN:  Ok so, ignoring the several times Riven was LITERALLY MIND CONTROLLED his character is still difficult to deal with. I think Musa and Riven are both very intense people, and while that can be super fun and develop into a good relationship, it can also lead to LOTS of problems. For their relationship, I think they wouldn’t even start dating until like season 3 era at the earliest.(this is partially why season 4 is so rough for them, its a new relationship) a lot of their issues would stem from their attachment issues and how they respond to insecurity. Riven’s mom left him, just fucking dropped out of his life while he was a young kid, leaving him with an emotionally distant and dismissive father he could never please. So Riven responds by pushing people away before they can reject him, becoming controlling, or dismissing them in anger and pretending not to care about their opinion. Musa’s mother was taken away from her by illness.  I think it happened in Musa’s early teens, since it’s clearly still a tender subject in the first season. A parents death is painful no matter the circumstance, but a sickness that slowly steals the person you love away from you must be incredibly painful. As a result, Musa experience a lot of anxiety about the people she loves leaving her(whether by their choice or not), and becomes clingy, emotionally demanding, and sensitive. When Riven pushes her away to protect himself Musa tries to force her way back to him, when Musa wants Riven to act certain way or do something to ease her anxiety (even if its irrational and she is at fault) Riven dismisses her needs because it means he can keep himself safe from failure. They have similar problems but the way they respond to it ends up escalating every issue. They do eventually grow and become vulnerable with each other, Riven tries to express his affection more(even if it’s not through words) instead of hiding them in fear of rejection, and Musa tries to explain when her feelings are hurt more clearly instead of just assuming Riven knows what he did wrong. They also clash a bit over parentage, both only have their dads left, but Musa’s is involved and (now)supportive, while Riven’s is still distant. Musa has positive memories of her mother and misses her a lot, but Riven has very few memories and is terribly angry at his mother. I think that Riven still left at the end of season 6, but they didn’t exactly break up, they both recognized that Riven needed some time away from the specialists to work on his own shit and gain confidence in his own skills and self worth, so it turned into a low key long distance thing. (if he hadn’t come back in season 8  they would just decide to break it off but lol he’s back)
AISHA AND NABU:  ugh perfect couple. minus the kind of sketchy beginning lol. Aisha and Nabu generally don’t fight once they get used to each other. Nabu is a focal point that Aisha is kind of bungee corded to if that makes sense? like obviously not in a restricting way. Its just Aisha is hella active/independent and needs her own space to explore and grow, but Nabu is her solid ground that she relies on and always comes back to. Nabu and Aisha are both smart, but Nabu is a little more of a nerd than Aisha and has a lot of book knowledge. Nabu sometimes gets irritated at Aisha’s impulsiveness, he tries to let it go and jump with her sometimes but generally just lets her do her own thing, of course on the other hand, Aisha can get irritated at Nabu’s resistance to change, she knows pestering and pushing him won’t help tho so she tries to slow down and walk through it with him when she can.
AISHA AND NEX:  So like I said Aisha is an active, independent woman, and if Nabu was a separate, stationary, focal point for her, I think Nex is related, moving, counter point. So like Nex can actually keep up with Aisha, and push her and challenge her. Which isn’t a bad thing in relationships so long as a mutual respect is there. Nex is aggressive and can be hot headed but I think he actually takes life at a slower pace than Aisha who is a master of multitasking. Aisha admires Nex’s drive but wishes he would be a little more directional with it. When they’re not being competitive, they have a very weird calming effect around each other. Aisha and Nex don’t seem to notice this, but the rest of the group picked up on it one day and could not for the life them figure out how two such intense people could have such a chill vibe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Daphne and Thoren actually met when they were kids, but didn’t spend much time together because it was at a formal event. Daphne is technically 20 years older than Thoren(only a few years older than Sky), but they’re the same physical age because Daphne spent so long as a spirit. I also like to think Thoren met her as a spirit(with out recognizing her) during his paladin training. They probably wouldn’t get married as quickly in my version, especially with Daphne’s trauma. Daphne was actually receiving physical and mental therapy on Ohm when Thoren visited the planet as part of his paladin duties. They didn’t hit it off right away, but didn’t dislike each other or anything. They actually bonded over scars, Thoren has scars from some paladin related incidents, but also has a scar from when he attempted suicide. Daphne asked him about his first, she eventually explained hers to him but since they were more recent it took a little longer for her to come to terms with what happened to her. Thoren finds her scars beautiful, partially because they’re a part of Daphne, but also because they mean she survived and that she’s healing. Daphne will have nightmares sometimes and Thoren has a whole routine for comforting her and helping her feel safe and grounded. Thoren gets anxious easily, and Daphne will use her magic to subtly change the environment so he feels more comfortable. They like to watch reality tv together and yell at stupid dramatic people. Daphne is terrified of losing her loved ones and can be over protective of Thoren even though he can take care of himself, and Thoren hesitates to ask her to do anything for him because he’s (irrationally)nervous about overwhelming her. In the future, Daphne is a little unsure about asking him to marry her, not because of their relationship, but because he would assume the role of King of Domino and that’s a lot of pressure but they discuss it and work through everything together. Neither of them are good at gardening, but they have a little section of the Domino castle gardens they like to try and grow things in. Thoren also does fine metal work with wires.
Their families are very pleased with the relationship. Thoren’s mom and Daphne are pretty different but vibe together really well. Thoren and Oritel take up sparing together and Oritel has no problems with Daphne’s choice of partner. Thoren’s dad finds Daphne to be a very fine young lady, though he has concerns that his son is with some one who has so much recent trauma and he worries it’ll kick start Thoren’s depression again. Marion doesn’t think anybody is good enough for her girls but Thoren comes pretty close, Thoren has expressed interest in learning magic, and Marion is eager to teach him, though he may regret letting her once the lessons actually start lol.
Oritel and Marion like Sky well enough, and they recognize he’s still young and is growing, but they privately think Bloom could do better. Erendor and Samara are concerned about Bloom’s civilian background (how will she handle ruling a kingdom when she has no political training?) and though the Dragon flame would be a huge asset to Eraklyon in power it could also draw unwanted attention and attacks so they’re also concerned about that. But besides those issues, Erendor actually really likes Bloom. Samara.... is very stiff and formal so its hard to tell if she likes Bloom or if she’s just being civil and tolerating her.
Brandon’s parents LOVE Stella, they think she’s hilarious and cute and they dote on her whenever possible. If Stella and Brandon ever broke up they would probably still invite her to family events and stuff lol. Luna and Radius, when they’re not dealing with their own relationship issues, enjoy Brandon’s company. They kind of wish Stella had chosen a Solarian partner, but its customary to let Solarian children follow their heart and pick their own partner.
Timmy’s mom hasn’t met Tecna in person, but Timmy talks about her all the time and Timmy’s mom thinks she sounds wonderful. Electronio and Magnethia were unsure of Timmy at first. They ran the numbers through the Zenithian Compatibility and Success in Relationship Indicator and Timmy + Tecna didn’t do so well on paper. However, Tecna was absolutely firm in her decision to be with Timmy even if it didn’t make sense to her parents, which was unusual for her. They like him a lot now, even if they don’t fully understand how he works lol.
Helia’s dads think Flora is a total catch for Helia like “damn son how did you convince her to date you???” Helia just groans and rolls his eyes. Magic dad likes to talk nature magic with Flora and Warrior dad is always trying to teach her some new self defense tactic when she visits, much to the embarrassment of his son. Alyssa and Rhodos like Helia, even if they think he’s a little out there. Like Flora, they try to encourage his pursuit of art. Miele likes to mess with Helia and pull pranks on him, Helia pretends to be horribly offended but he actually thinks she’s hilarious.
Aisha was a dream match for Nabu’s parents, they cared more about her status as princess than her as a person at first. After Nabu’s death they blamed Aisha and rejected all of her attempts to contact them. In the process of healing, they’ve reached out to her and are trying to appreciate/get to know her as some one their son loved and not just a rung on the social ladder. Aisha’s parents liked Nabu, they didn’t really get to know him very well, but thought he was a smart, capable, and well mannered young man. They saw Aisha was happy with him and left it at that.
Aisha’s parent’s were less sure of Nex, Andros is a fairly planet centric culture, and Nex, as a Mare Lynphean especially, didn’t quite fit into their Land/Sea dichotomy. Aisha of course, isn’t one to follow social norms if she doesn’t want to. Nex is a little worried about her parents approval, but Aisha insists that the only approval he needs is hers. Niobe and Teredor are currently leaving the relationship as is, knowing fighting Aisha will just make her dig her heels in more. Nex eventually wins them over with his bravery, charm, and devotion to Aisha. When Nex told his parents he was dating a princess, they were kind of surprised. They were also surprised when Aisha turned out to be an athletic, independent, and brash young woman instead of a delicate, dependent, and prissy princess. They absolutely approve and love spending time with her.
Musa hasn’t met Riven’s dad. Riven and his dad aren’t close, they talk maybe once a month and its usually a text from his dad with “update request; academics, physical health, extra curricular, and relationships statuses.” and Riven usually just responds with “update; fuck off.” Riven’s dad does know he’s dating some one but doesn’t have a lot of information. Musa’s dad DID NOT like Riven at first. He didn’t like his look, his reputation, or his attitude. however, Ho-Boe comes from a warrior background, though he prefer(ed)s musical pursuits, he came to respect Riven’s discipline in those areas, and eventually was able to relate to Riven’s rejection of his heritage.
Tumblr media
Bloom and Daphne are a little.... one sided, at least in the beginning. When Bloom first meets Daphne (that she remembers) Daphne isn’t even a real person, she’s a dream or at most a spirit. Even after Bloom learns her name Daphne is a mystery, and its not until like end of season three that they start talking regularly. On Daphne’s side, Bloom was a toddler, and then is suddenly grown up. Daphne still thinks of her like her baby sister, even tho the two of them are, physically, almost the same age now. Daphne also always knew she had a sister, while Bloom thought of herself as an only child for the majority of her life at this point. So while they love each other and get a long pretty well, they have misconceptions and don’t always view the other person as they actually are.

Sure! Stormy likes cream puffs, like A LOT. She owns only dark red lipsticks. She likes doing her makeup but has no patience for her hair, she usually chops a lot of it off every couple months and just lets it do whatever it wants. Stormy has a “worry stone” made of metal she keeps in her pocket. She’s got adhd and Darcy sometimes magically helps calm her brain down when she needs to focus. Stormy of course, loves thunder storms, she gets little electric shivers when they’re getting close. She collects static like nobodies business. Stormy is primarily Omegean and Androsian, tho a little Dominian, Zenithian, and Melodian blood runs through her veins as well. She likes cats.

yaaaaaaas, ok so I actually gave his dads names finally Vaonaaj dad is Bi’ran (bee-ran) and Lynphean dad is Reed (last name is Deshene). When Helia was born Bi’ran used magic to like float him around and keep him out of trouble and stuff and it annoyed the hell out of Reed (like “for natures sake please don’t hex my son” “im not hexing him its just a floating spell!!”) Reed gave Helia a little sword really early and Bi’ran was appalled ( ”why would you give him a weapon he’s like FIVE” “good he can learn early”) When Helia started to express interest in art his dads were confused af because neither of them have an artistic bone in their bodies. They try to be supportive but honestly have no idea what Helia is doing lol. Helia really wants to please them both so he spent a year at Lynphea College in the basic magic course. When warrior dad(Reed) started to pressure him to learn to fight as well, Helia’s grandfather Saladin offered him a place at Red Fountain, partially because he could see Helia needed his own space to figure himself out and partially because it would appease Reed. Helia was only planning on staying at Red fountain for a year but his relationship with Flora and his friendships with the rest of the group extended his stay. Bi’ran and Reed know they need to let Helia make his own path, but they worry and just want the best for him so they tend to stick to what they know and are comfortable with when advising him(magic and fighting respectively). Bi’ran and Reed have a standing date night every week, and usually they get really out of hand as they try to outdo the other in excitement and romance (dinner and movie one week leads to a 5 course meal and an play the next which leads to a private chef, a one of a kind meal, and an entire theater rented out for a personal performance etc etc etc) until they both realize they’re being ridiculous and promise to keep it simple from then on and the cycle repeats itself. Bi’ran really likes to play with Reed’s hair. Helia always beats them both at card games.

WINX REDUX AU SUMMARIZED: SEASON 3 (The Fugitive from Omega)
Or, in which I give the basics of what I’ve changed about the story for the AU. It was originally way more descriptive but if I kept it in that style I would have finished in 2039 and I ain’t got time for that. Let’s cover Season 3 at last!
WINX REDUX AU SUMMARIZED: SEASON 3
After a month or so of summer break, Stella calls everyone up for a meeting in Magix to start getting the stuff for her birthday party/princess ball going.
Aisha is a bit down, however - while she did inform her parents that she’s dating Musa now, they’re still going on about her arranged marriage and she wishes they would stop.
The girls then go to a few stores in Magix to buy a few things Stella didn’t get in Solaria - she’s making her ballgown for the event and she wants some extra decorations, as it’s the last time she’ll appear as the Heir of the Sun and the Moon and wants to honor both celestial objects.
After a bit of shopping they take a lunch break, and meet Chimera there. They fight over a pizza but neither gets it, falling into the floor after a tug-o-war.
The girls meet her again when getting a dress for Bloom, and the interaction is equally unpleasant.
They finally get everything and then Stella brings Bloom and Daphne to Solaria, so they can spend a week there before the main event, so they can sightsee a bit.
During this stay, Bloom confides to Stella and Daphne that she might be developing something for Diaspro, but she’s not sure if it’s a genuine emotion or just her being happy she saved her. The other two simply tell her to think about it more clearly, and that she’ll realize what the feeling is when it happens.
At around the same time, the capsule Stormy had been in during her stay at Omega suddenly malfunctions after some ice hits it hard, allowing her to free herself. She manages to free the other 2 and immediately makes Icy cast a spell so they don’t die from the cold.
They wander for a bit before getting chased by some ice wyrms, and find Valtor’s capsule.
They free him and immediately throw him to the wyrm so they can escape again, but to their surprise Valtor manages to kill it with ease. He formally introduces himself.
They find the portal to Antocea and manage to open it, taking a break on the settlement around it (mostly abandoned warehouses full with stuff they can survive on for a few weeks), and with Valtor’s Mark, they manage to control the mermaids around the place.
Valtor is still pretty weak from the trip however, and decides to take a trip to Solaria to drain a bit of power from the Lantern of the Sun, to revitalize himself a bit.
Stella and Riven show Daphne and Bloom around, and they also finally meet Radius.
He introduces Count Alessandro of Alba, and reveals to Stella that he will be marrying him in a few months. Everyone is surprised, most of all Stella since she didn’t even notice they were dating.
Alessandro also introduces his daughter Carmilla, who turns out to be Chimera’s real name. The two girls try to remain civil but it's proving harder and harder. Stella just doesn’t like Chimera that much, and Chimera’s paranoid this will just end like how her parent’s separation ended and does not want that happening again, ever.
Valtor arrives at Solaria Castle and sees Chimera, sees how easily manipulable she is at the moment and promises her that if she helps him get to the Lantern, he will give her some extra power to ensure she wins in the end.
Chimera agrees and lends him the Lantern for a few seconds, Valtor absorbs part of its power and then marks Chimera, giving her instructions on what to do.
Aisha finds out about the current mess on Andros due to the portal of Omega being open, causing havoc near their sister nations and decides to stay home to help, informing the girls in the meantime.
The day of the Ball has arrived, and everyone is happy for Stella and how the day is gonna go, even if they’re missing Aisha. Radius introduces her as the Heir of the Sun and the Moon and then announces his engagement to Alessandro.
They dance for a bit and Stella is about to announce whether she will turn into the Heir of the Sun or the Heir of the Moon, but she’s attacked out of nowhere, falling to the ground and finding herself unable to transform. An illusion spell is cast over the entire room by Chimera, who marks her dad and future step-dad as well in the confusion. It makes everyone believe Stella has turned into a monster and order her arrest, everyone forced to flee.
After an escape through the old aqueducts, they decide to leave for Alfea for answers, and Wizgiz informs her that her magic was sealed by a very powerful spell, and that it would take him months for him to break it even with the entire staff’s help. He instead points them to the Mirror of Purification, a magical spring deep in the mountains of Soraia that can remove any curse or spell placed on a person, no matter how strong.
They manage to get there after many mishaps, but the spring is hidden in caves and Stella’s just sick of everything at that point, her ball was ruined, she was more or less exiled from her own planet, and she feels useless without her magic especially now since the ring is still broken, tying it to her worth for a bit. She manages to find the spring and takes a dive in it, but she still can’t cast magic, and everyone arrives.
They manage to cheer her up and tell her how much she means to them even if she can’t believe it at the moment, and that does manage to lift her mood. She can finally cast magic again after this - the spring removed the curse the second she stepped on it, but her fairy magic wasn’t gonna come out until she could think positively again.
Stella spends the last week of break before classes with Bloom and Daphne in Daphne’s newly acquired apartment.
Classes finally start and the girls can meet with Aisha again, who catches them up on what’s going on at Andros. Daphne’s reaction to the name Valtor scares Bloom.
Stella reunites with her friend Nova, who had moved away a few years ago to another coastal city in Solaria and catches her up on what’s going on at her country.
Musa also meets the princess of Melodeus Galatea, and the princess gains an interest on Musa due to her style of music. They strike a quick friendship after that.
a few days pass and when news break that Valtor has captured Queen Ligea of Mareia, she can’t stand it anymore WE’RE GOING TO ANDROS TO SAVE MY AUNT RIGHT NOW.
So Stella teleports them to Andros to get a way to get there that doesn’t involve flying cuz they would die trying that are you insane. She stays behind to cover for them with the Pixies, Diaspro and Nova.
She gets busted almost immediately by Daphne though, who is in the middle of a panic attack.
On Andros, after a quick check-in with Aisha’s parents, the girls get one of the private smaller ships the royal house has to get to Mareia and rescue Ligea. They meet Roy then, captain of the ship and Aisha’s friend.
As they sail onwards they’re attacked by the Trix, and after a fight, Bloom’s knocked out into the seas, a small platform rising below her.
Valtor shows up and tries to talk to Bloom, finding her familiar somehow, but he’s attacked by the Winx and as a warning, makes Aisha blind.
While everyone’s trying to deal with this, Aisha’s cousin Tressa appears, telling them that there’s a chance right now of rescuing the queen since Valtor’s occupied elsewhere, back in the Omega portal.
Everyone agrees and after Aisha swaps to her mermaid form and casts a breathing spell to the rest, they delve into the sea.
After a few missteps they arrive at the underwater palace and rescue Ligea, and try to make a run for it when Valtor attacks them in person, alongside a kraken he marked.
The kraken quickly goes haywire and attacks everyone equally however, and manages to knock both Ligea and Valtor out.
Aisha wants to take this chance and defeat Valtor right then and there (she can sense everything and “see” underwater thanks to her source), but realizes getting Ligea to safety is more important and bails, leaving Valtor to escape.
As they’re nearing the surface however, the kraken strikes again trying to drag Ligea back down, but Aisha intercepts it getting almost killed in the process to save her aunt. Everyone else reaches the surface and are really worried for Aisha, until she rises from the seas in Enchantix, having earnt the form. Her eyesight is also restored now, earning the form removing any curse or spell placed on her. She uses her Essence Dust as well to heal Ligea.
They get back to Alfea and immediately get punished to organizing the recently restored archive after Bloom kinda destroyed it last year for their stunt in Andros, thought they congratulate the girl’s bravery in helping those in aid and does acknowledge that Aisha has a duty to her people.
Faragonda and Daphne then elaborate on who Valtor is (which you can read here), and why he’s so dangerous - he also has a Dragon Aura, and unlike Bloom, has mastered control over it.
A few weeks pass and the girls are done with that assignment, and Sky invites everyone to Eraklyon for the Days of Arturia festival.
Riven confides to Stella that he might be falling in love with Sky and she suggests just saying it outright after the party in private, taking advantage of the happy mood and that even if Sky says no at least he’s getting closer to overcoming what happened a few years ago.
Sky confides in Brandon and Nex that he’s starting to think he might be crushing on Riven and doesn’t know how to deal with it, and that it’s adding to the stress of planning the event.
Brandon simply suggests to ask him out after the party so he doesn’t focus on it much, and Nex does the same, also adding that the party is the most pressing matter at the moment and that he can work out his feelings later.
Everyone finally gets to the party and start interacting, with Sky soon to be holding a speech.
Diaspro leaves for a bit to get herself something to drink and is captured by Valtor, who had shown up to the party and wanted to absorb the magic of the Sword of Storms, a magic relic of Eraklyon. She’s forced to help him and ends up then thrown into a dungeon, Valtor then taking her form and going back to dance.
Valtor still needs someone under his control on Eraklyon, since thanks to Chimera he’s running Solaria from the shadows ensuring he doesn’t get caught if a King doesn’t consider him a threat. Disguised as Diaspro, he marks Sky, who then announces he’s gonna get married to Diaspro soon, apparently having been reunited.
He knows this is what most of the noble population was expecting of those two, and this will make them more compliant to obey Sky’s orders.
The Winx and the Specialists immediately see through the bullshit and go approach Sky and Diaspro what’s going on, Riven and Bloom sounding really hurt at this.
Sky orders for them to be arrested and everyone bails, Sky calling in the dragons to attack them. Erendor and Samara are also questioning what’s going on, but Valtor returns to his original form and also sends them to the dungeon so they don’t interfere amidst the chaos.
The dragons quickly go loose and start attacking everyone, and manages to knock Radius and Alessandro, who had been invited as well.
Chimera’s frozen in fear, being just a Charmix fairy who hadn’t seriously fought before, and Stella rushes in to save all of them.
She forces her sceptre to its limit to defend her family even if she’s unsure of what Chimera’s plans are, the staff breaking and her getting hit with the full force of the attack.
Stella earns her Enchantix thanks to this, her sceptre also reforming into a new form - the Staff of the Stars. She leaves immediately after this to escape the dragons, but is happy her dad still seems to be fine, and she caught the slightest glint of remorse in Chimera’s eyes.
Everyone rests in the ship for a bit before immediately turning back, wanting to know exactly what has happened. They saw the mark of Valtor on the neck of the dragons, so they know he has a part in this, and with Brandon’s help, they sneak into the castle the next day.
Valtor on his part goes back to check on Diaspro’s cell once everything started to settle down but realizes she’s escaped, and realizing that without the princess to mark, he’s trapped in the castle in order to keep with the plan.
As everyone else bursts into the castle unnoticed, Bloom starts to realize she might have genuine feelings for Diaspro after how hurt she felt at the announcement, even when she knew it was a farce.
They find Diaspro on the way to Sky’s chambers and while initially cautious, they realize she’s not marked and Bloom immediately hugs her, happy she’s safe.
Now all together, they barge into Sky’s chamber and see him with Valtor-as-Diaspro, who immediately decides to just cut his losses and leaves Eraklyon, Sky still under his control and ordered to attack him.
After a brief fight, Diaspro and Stella use their Essence Dust to remove the mark, and Sky falls seriously ill after this, having to remain in Eraklyon.
Brandon, Riven and Diaspro remain in Eraklyon to look after Sky, as well as help clear everything that’s happened.
A few more weeks past and Valtor has settled in his next targets - Alfea and Cloud Tower. He decides to go to Cloud Tower first, and with the help of the Trix and a clever ruse, manages to enter the building and trap Griffin in the same place she was trapped by the Trix years ago, Valtor taking power from the Eye of the Eagle in Griffin’s office. He then attacks Alfea with the entire marked school as an army.
They all get thrown into a fight and the Trix infiltrate the school as a shadow, trapping a random fairy (Galatea) and forcing them to help them reach the Archive, since according to Valtor that’s where Alfea’s treasure (The Wings of Alfea, a special shield that also helps form the barrier protecting the school) resides.
Musa, Flora and Bloom manage to track them down and defeat them, but the Trix still get the Wings and bail, Darcy casting a cursed fire over the room to delay them further.
Everything starts to be destroyed again and the Winx quickly evacuate Concorda and the other school Pixies as well as Galatea, but she trips with a piece of fallen wood from the bookcases.
She’s about to be crushed by the rest of the bookcases, but Musa rushes in and pushes her out of the way, getting her wings torn off and her leg hurt in the process.
She earns Enchantix thanks to this regardless, which reforms her wings immediately, but she still can’t fly properly due to the pain still being there.
Now with Essence Dust, she can undo the fire in the room, also restoring most of the books in the process.
Valtor and Faragonda had a hard fight during all of this, but Valtor manages to win and traps Faragonda in a tree.
The Winx then go look for Faragonda unaware of her fate, since most of the teachers need to help with the few possessed students they got to trap before Valtor called them back to CT, using their own powers to remove the marks and it’s gonna take a while.
After a brief but very rough adventure in Cloud Tower, the girls finally find Faragonda trapped in a tree, and after informing the staff about this they decide to send the girls to Lynphea, as the tears of the Black Willow can help them and Flora lives near that place.
Flora explains what the Black Willow is on the way there and when they arrive, they meet her sister Miele, a young Witch studying in Lynphea.
The Trix also go to Lynphea around the same time, trying to get the tears themselves as well since it would be useful for Valtor’s plans.
Flora and Miele then elaborate on what the tears are - it’s a special sap produced by the willow with incredible magical healing properties, and using it alongside some Essence Dust would manage to restore Faragonda completely, as Essence Dust alone runs the risk of Faragonda becoming part-tree forever, it’s not as strong with nature. It has mixed overtime with a natural spring around the tree, which has made it stronger but also more unstable.
They finally arrive to the place where the Willow is (a small lake and waterfall called the Water Stairway), and when getting to collect the water Miele warns everyone that the water’s so magically charged there’s no telling what it could do to them, so they have to be careful.
At around the same time the Trix arrive at the Willow, and a fight ensues, Miele showing off her Charmix form.
During the fight Miele is hit hard by Icy’s attack, knocking her out of the air, out of her transformation, and loses conscience, falling into the waters.
Flora immediately and viciously attacks and ensnares the Trix in some thorny vines before diving into the water to save her sister, and she does, managing to send her back to the surface but ends up too weak, her attack on the Trix having drained her, starting to drown.
Miele comes to on the surface and immediately screams for her sister, and Aisha is trying to control the water to bring her back. Flora then rises up on her own, having achieved Enchantix, and then uses her vines to drag the Trix into the waters herself, still pretty angry at them.
The Trix then come out of the water looking the same age as Miele and bail, taking some of the water in the hopes it’ll fix their issue as well. The Winx finally get the water as well and return to Alfea, at last freeing Faragonda.
A month or so passes with relative peace before news break out that the portal to Omega in Antocea has gone haywire, expelling insane amounts of magic due to Valtor and the Trix breaking it to pass through. Aisha once again leaves for Andros with the Winx, hoping she can meet with the still-living Sorcerer that helped make the portal all those years ago, Taboc.
After some battles with criminals that had escaped Omega, they reach the portal with Taboc (having picked him up along the way), but they find themselves unable to do anything, the Portal ejecting too much electrical magic and energy, and Taboc can’t control it, the spell to close it seemingly not working.
As Taboc, Bloom and Aisha consider other options, they realize Tecna’s not saying anything, and when they check, she’s already halfway into the portal.
Everyone else arrives and panics, asking her what does she think she’s doing. Tecna elaborates that since her Source is Electricity, she can maybe manage to disrupt and absorb the magic of the portal and close it once and for all, and asks them to say goodbye to Timmy for her, not believing she’s gonna come out of it alive.
This act earns Tecna her Enchantix, and with her new power and aided by her Dust, she starts casting the closing spell from the inside. A pillar of lightning rises from the center of the portal, and as fast as it came, it disappears, the portal fully closed, Tecna nowhere in sight.
Everyone thinks she might be dead, and in their sorrow and rage, everyone starts crying. Bloom and Musa then stand up, rage the only thing inside them, and decide to go back to Cloud Tower and face Valtor head on, blaming him for Tecna’s apparent death.
The others try to stop them but can’t, and defeated, Stella sends them to Cloud Tower while everyone else goes to Alfea in the hopes the other two will come to their senses.
Once in Cloud Tower, Bloom and Musa fight through the possessed students and fight Valtor head on, but are quickly defeated. He’s about to mark them both when Faragonda, Griffin, Saladin, Daphne and the Winx burst in, attacking Valtor head on and taking the defeated fairies out. Valtor recognizes Daphne and realizes that Bloom is the baby princess of Domino, his anger starting to rise as everyone leaves.
Bloom feels useless after the battle with Valtor, wanting to know how to get a better hold of her Dragon Aura. Daphne offers to help her, and Faragonda decides to send them both to Pyros to train under the Sorceress Maia, an old acquaintance of hers that also has a Dragon Aura.
The two princesses arrive and, after a few mishaps, meet Maia at last, and start training under her. With both Daphne and Maia’s guidance, she starts to get a better hold of her powers.
At the same time, Timmy manages to make contact with Tecna on Omega for a brief moment, and with the Winx’s help, they all go to Omega to fetch her. They end up being attacked by some of the criminals that escaped their capsules and are separated.
The Paladin Order raids Cloud Tower and finds it empty, Valtor having left the place and leaving all the marked Witches there as well. Life slowly returns to normal in the building.
Still on Pyros, Bloom and Daphne are near the end of their stay when they’re attacked by the Trix, sent by Valtor to steal a magic item, but decide to take a detour and try to take down Bloom once and for all.
A fight starts, and while they start winning, Icy starts to focus on Daphne to try and take her down as well, since she might be more dangerous than Bloom. She’s about to stab her but stabs Bloom instead, having jumped between them to protect her sister. This earns her Enchantix, and now with this power, and aided by a VERY angry Daphne, they manage to utterly defeat the Trix, sending them running.
After this event and with a new form, the two princess go back to Alfea, and learn of the fate of Tecna and the rest. At the same time, Sky and the others come back from Eraklyon, having finally recovered from Valtor’s spell. They all leave for Omega.
Once there they end up separated by the same criminals, with the guys on one side and the girls on the other. Bloom and Diaspro keep looking for Tecna until they get ambushed. Both transform and manage to make quick work of the attackers, but the struggle let a stalactite loose, coming for them.
Scared, Diaspro ends up confessing on the spot, and right before the ice hit them it got pulverized by another attack - it’s Tecna, who heard the commotion and wanted to check in.
They all hug, excited to see each other again, but then soon go back to business, trying to find the rest. They all end up falling through a crevice and find the other Winx, and after another happy hug, they all rise up again to the surface after fighting an ice wyrm.
They also finally manage to find the boys (who had all been captured), and after freeing them, they immediately book it out to the ship and back to Magix.
Back on Magix at last, Diaspro finally asks for Bloom’s answer on their feelings, and while Bloom is still not sure if she’s truly attracted to her, they do agree to try a date.
A few weeks have passed, the girls decide to go on a group outing again, as a late celebration for everyone being back together.
They stop to have lunch, and while everyone else orders food, Aisha meets a guy named Ophir, who was asking directions at the start but ended up talking for a few minutes. He excuses himself once everyone else gets back with food, and says that he and Aisha might meet again.
Right as the girls finish eating, Valtor appears in the clouds as a projection, announcing his plans to steal the Eye of Myrari from the nearby museum.
The girls can tell something’s weird about this and go to the museum as well, and after some shenanigans and Ophir showing up in the nick of time (revealing he’s a Fairy in the process), Valtor manages to steal the real treasure he was after - Agador’s Box.
After this event, a few days go by, and Radius and Alessandro’s wedding day is approaching. Stella’s determined to free her dad from Valtor’s mark but has not been invited to the wedding (thanks to Chimera). She decides she’s done waiting around and starts to find a way to get to Solaria and fix this once and for all, and after some brainstorming and help from Nova, they decide on performing as bike stunt performers.
With tutoring from the Specialists, the girls manage to get a good handle on them enough to go to the event, and with Luna’s help from Solaria (who’s informed of all the happenings) they manage to sneak in.
At the same time, Chimera’s panicking - she knows most of the staff has picked up that both Radius and her dad are not acting right and her feelings are in overdrive, becoming more and more unhinged about the whole situation and cursing Stella. She carries out with the wedding regardless.
During the vows, with both Radius and Alessandro looking empty, Stella strikes and disrupts the wedding, calling out Chimera as an ally of Valtor and showing the mark on both of the affected. Chimera simply loses it and transforms on the spot, starting to attack the Winx.
The Winx do the same and Stella and Chimera go one on one, Stella swiftly defeating the manic noble. She simply shuts down completely and remains on the floor, broken.
Stella uses her Essence Dust alongside the others and finally breaks her father and Alessandro free of the curse, she and Radius hugging in joy.
Chimera comes back to her senses and simply says nothing, head hung. Alessandro simply sends her to the Roccaluce Rehabilitation Center, in hopes she can get better, elaborating on her actions - Chimera believes anything new coming into her life will be trouble, and after meeting Stella she convinced herself she would throw her out the second she got the chance to, entering a circle of paranoia and anxiety that overtook her.
Radius and Alessandro cancel the wedding and decide to have at another date, in hopes Chimera’s recovery is steady so they can all celebrate it fully. Stella also finally announces her new title - she’s the Heir of the Stars, and Fairy of the Cosmic Light, refusing both sun and moon and choosing her own path. She gets her Solarian mark as well.
Once back on Alfea, a few more days pass until Daphne comes to their dorm in the dead of night for a hidden mission, something she cannot share with Faragonda.
She has found out about the Liquid Aura Stars, ancient and terrible objects that could drain a magi’s Aura to almost extinguish it, and feels this might be the only thing they can use against Valtor. (Learn more about them here!)
After some calls and some clever excuses, Stella teleports them outside of Alfea and into a Red Fountain ship with the guys, who are helping them get in the area the Stars are supposedly hidden.
After another run-in with gryphons, they get there with more or less no issues, aside from Ophir also being there for some reason, claiming that he wanted to help.
They’re faced by a lot of beings on the way to the place, and Ophir shows off his powers, as well as befriending everyone on the way.
They arrive at a weird formation of gems and trees called the Crystal Labyrinth, where the Stars supposedly reside at the center of the maze. Everyone tries to enter together, but crystals suddenly cover the entrance, trapping Daphne, Aisha and Tecna on the other side and dividing them further, a voice echoing in the distance talking about some sort of trial.
The three girls advance regardless, and seemingly manage to reach the center, but there are two doors, the voice speaking again that to get to the Stars, they must pass this test.
Aisha is shown her parents finally breaking off the engagement, letting her be free at last, and on the other door, the Liquid Aura Stars reside. While she would love for her parents to finally accept her wishes, she knows she can get through them in her own, and goes for the Stars.
Tecna is shown all the knowledge in the world, all at her disposal, and on the other door, the Liquid Aura Stars reside. While part of her wants to just delve in into all that information, she knows her friends and the Stars are more important, and she can acquire all that information on her own, after all.
Daphne is shown Domino fully restored, her parents and her people okay and alive and happy, and on the other door, the Liquid Aura Stars reside. While Daphne would love nothing more than to restore her home immediately, she’s certain she will find the way on her own, and Domino, as much as it hurts her, can wait. She goes for the Stars.
They all arrive at the center and retrieve the stars in their casket, the maze disappearing around them and reuniting with the rest, going back to Alfea.
They somehow manage to get by without Faragonda or the rest of the staff knowing about what they just did (since taking the Stars is HIGHLY ILLEGAL), and decide to celebrate this as well as Stella freeing her kingdom by going out at night all together, with special permission from Faragonda.
During this trip, Sky and Riven decide to talk at last about what happened in Eraklyon, and how Riven helped Sky to get better. They both end up confessing to one another and start dating.
At the same time, Ophir shows up and reveals his true identity to Aisha - he’s Nabu, the man she’s supposed to marry. He wanted to meet her before the deal was done since he heard Aisha was already dating someone, and since he doesn’t want the marriage either they decide to arrange a meeting with their parents once and for all to annul the arrangement.
As they leave, Valtor appears in the sky as a projection again, challenging the headmasters of the schools to a match out of nowhere.
Everyone thinks this is suspicious but the headmasters take the challenge regardless, leaving their colleagues to protect the schools if something bad happens.
The battle starts but at no point Valtor fights in it, instead casting a powerful illusion spell to make it look like everyone is fighting Valtor despite actually fighting themselves.
He teleports to Alfea to look for whatever the Winx took recently - he knows they have something but doesn’t know what is.
The Winx intercept him, however, and a battle breaks. Valtor manages to defeat Aisha and Stella and almost marks them until Bloom barges in with the Stars, and starts draining Valtor of his magic.
She stops right before it would have gone to lethal levels, and almost detains him if it wasn’t for the Trix’s interference, who manage to drag him back to their hiding spot.
While Faragonda congratulates the girls on their plan, she also tells them they’re gonna have to go to court once Valtor is dealt with since they did violate some heavy laws getting the Stars.
Valtor, still weak, pulls one last power hidden in the Box (which he has been using to hold all the stolen powers so far), one he stole a long, long time ago and has been saving as a last ditch resort - the Spell of the Elements, one of the strongest powers ever created.
He casts different natural disasters to all the schools plus Magica City (an inferno to Alfea, tornadoes to Red Fountain, a flood using Lake Roccaluce’s water to Cloud Tower, and an earthquake to Magica), and demanding Bloom to face him once and for all, wanting revenge and nothing else.
Faced with the disaster, Bloom agrees, and the rest of the Winx plus Diaspro and Daphne go with her, Daphne wanting him to pay for what he did to the Lake, still holding a lot of memories for her.
Once they arrive they’re immediately dragged down to a makeshift cave made on the lakebed, the Trix arriving to fight the Winx plus Diaspro while Bloom and Daphne face Valtor head on.
As they fight, Valtor reveals what his plan was - to undo the curse on Domino, and free the country from the eternal winter. This leaves everyone confused, until he elaborates further that he himself cast the spell of eternal winter, but it has been tampered with and modified over the years, which made it impossible for him to undo.
He’s been stealing powers and getting people under his control from different realms so that once he frees Domino, he can finally take over it as its new king, aided by the people he has under his control to support him.
However, explaining his plan has made him careless, and after a good hit on him by Daphne, Bloom rushes to Agador’s Box. Valtor tries his hardest to stop her, but he’s in turn stopped by the rest of the Winx that have already defeated the Trix, and Bloom destroys the lock on the box, freeing all the magic Valtor has stolen from all the realms, leaving him powerless.
He decides to call back the elements with the last spell in his possession, and the waters of the lake start rushing back at a fast pace. Everyone starts to make a run for it but Valtor remains down there, still transformed somehow, frantically searching in case a spell still remains there. The waters come crashing down and the cave collapses with Valtor still there, and everyone else made it to the surface more or less safe. Valtor is never seen again, and is presumed dead.
The Paladin Order arrives as soon as all the other disasters stopped, and arrests both the Trix and the Winx on the spot for their crimes. A month of court meetings and cases ensue, held in trial for different things for both teams, with the Specialists, Helia and Nabu also held accountable.
After a month, a verdict is finally reached - while the heroes did break a very important law, it was done to protect the realms for an even bigger threat, and as such are charged with 2 months of community service, fixing all the damage Valtor’s spells have caused as well as just general helping around, and in the case of the magis, they’re cursed with a magic-restraining spell that will fade in a month, heavily limiting their magic usage.
As for the Trix, they cannot be sent to Omega as the prison is still a mess after the portal shenanigans, so they will be held in the Order of Mana’s dungeons until a more fitting place is found.
There are still 3 months of school left, and with the magic limiter it’s gonna be a pain, but the teachers are understanding at least so they’ll just have to work extra hard on finals. The worst has passed.
Daphne is called to Faragonda’s office and is given a book full of notes - it’s the one thing Valtor left behind untouched, found in a cave nearby. It details all the research he was doing on Domino’s curse, and she felt Daphne could use it.
Teredor and Niobe, alongside Nabu’s parents, show up to Alfea called by Aisha, and both she and Nabu finally face them and call them out, denying the arranged marriage. Teredor and Niobe finally agree to cancel the wedding as it’s clear neither of them wish to marry, and to strain their relationship with their daughter even further is unwise. Nabu’s parents also agree, but they seem more hesitant about it. The two young adults celebrate, and Nabu earns his Glamourix thanks to finally expressing his true feelings.
Sky and Riven also officially announce their relationship, as do Bloom and Diaspro. Everything seems to be going fine, and aside from having to pay for their technical crimes, everyone is happy the rest of the school year is going to be more calm...

We have one episode left in season 8 of Winx Club!
I can’t believe it has come to an end so quickly (quickly being a relative term because we waited a lifetime and a half for this season to even happen).
I have actually enjoyed the past few episodes more than I thought I would.
I loved the Melody episode. Absolutely enjoyed Musa getting her moment to shine and time with her dad as well as that Musa and Riven reconciliation we all deserve.
They are also a butt-kicking battle-ninja power couple and nobody can tell me otherwise.
The island episode was also really nice. I appreciate that Tecna and Layla got the opportunity to bond (honestly those episodes strengthening the Winx Club friendships sans Bloom are some of my favorite episodes). Also who doesn’t love a Tecna taking charge? Especially in the volcano situation. I love how she took more of a front role in leadership as far as battle plans go but I would have appreciated if all of them showed a special ability in that moment (Musa came along for the ride but didn’t really play much of a large role just contributing to the Convergence scene towards the end which was a shame). Nice to know also that the lava golems or whatever they were weren’t inherently evil just provoked and triggered by Valtor (which has happened plenty of times in season 3).
We also got to see Valtor for the first time in forever since he has been skulking around in the background for most of the season. To be honest, I am not impressed villain wise with him this season. He has been kind of meh. Don’t get the ooooh he dangerouuuuuusss vibes that I got from him a la Season 3 (perhaps because he rarely leaves his space castle). As far as the hero-villain dynamic goes this season, I think it is quite similar to Season 5 with Tritannus where the Winx go on a special quest to obtain something to help them defeat the villain and save the day but never really interact with the villain himself (bar like the ending or something).
The last two episodes took me by surprise. First, I didn’t expect that they would be on this planet for two episodes. Second, I never thought we would get backstory insight and especially not Icy’s backstory. Though, in hindsight, she has been there since the beginning too and just like all of the Specialists and most of the Winx and all of the other Alfea fairies, we know nothing about the Trix. So, better late than never on some character development.
Her backstory took me by surprise because of what we saw of young Icy in Season 3 and basically every iota of her personality in every season, she doesn’t strike as the cheerful type. Like we have never seen her smile for the sake of smiling and be genuinely happy without some cruel intention behind it. Yet, in this newly revealed past, she smiled a lot. I was also surprised that she was a princess. Like WHATTTTTTT. Not only a princess but a more formal princess with the gown and the nurturing personality (towards her sister at least). At the beginning, I totally took her to be the younger sister because of the similarity in hair color and that alone was shocking because the younger sister was adventurous and playful and enjoyed animals (all of which are not present day Icy in the slightest). So when names were spoken and she turned out to be the elder princess--- shooketh.
That witch who appears out of the blue and is the lynch pin for evil witch Icy... is terrifying. The fact that we never see her eyes is on its own creepy but everything just screams SLIMEBAG. What is frustrating is that this is the first time we have seen this witch (who seems like she could be an Ancestral Witch if they went solo and had ice monster minions) and if she was able to lay waste to a planet this easily, she should have been more of an interplanatary concern and a present day issue (just like everybody was like oooohhhhh the Ancestral Witches the Mothers of all Evil... there should have been at least a mention of yikes have you seen this ice witch with pointed teeth and ice monsters at her command who has easily just frozen this PLANET she is a PROBLEM). Also, why was she there? Where were Icy’s parents? Why was this planet of all planets on her radar and for what? Was it a powerful planet at one point in time? Did it have something she needed? The source of some mythical power? Because she turned Icy’s younger sister into a fox, froze the entire thing and then just left. I have only watched the Italian version so until this is translated into English, I won’t have my full picture.
I am also confused as to the Trix’s relationship with each other now. Because they were sisters up until this point... but now they are not??? Like Icy was a princess with a sister and they looked more related than Icy,Stormy, and Darcy ever did. Also, Stormy and Darcy were surprised when she mentioned the sister. So like... are they even related at this point??? I am confused.
The scene of the planet in general gave me Domino season 1 vibes for sure and there were definitely some parallels there with both times an iced over palace being involved and us learning about the character’s backstory in some way. They both radiate the same amount of sorrow too.
I like how we get to see Icy’s humanity in these episodes and how her sister took priority. The ruthless, cruel right hand woman of Valtor (and countless other villains) who has until this point pursued the stars with a single handed determination... completely ignores the stars for her sister. She stayed behind when everything was collapsing not for the star but for her sister. She didn’t participate in the battle with the Winx (her sworn enemies) because she was too concerned about her sister. When the cave was getting close to collapsing, though her sister was so close to the star, she pulled her back and flew them both to safety. She chose her sister over her star and just as the Winx were shocked... I was shocked. I don’t think they had ever seen her show such care and concern over someone else in their life (I don’t know if they knew she was the sister but the point remains because she hadn’t treated animals with kindness before either). I think in this circumstance, it was only right that the star went to her.
It was heartwarming and a bit surprising to see what they used the star for. First, to remove the marks of Valtor. I hadn’t really gotten the impression that they felt trapped by them and desired freedom since they were so eager to get back into the fray when they were first introduced. Also, to break the curse on Icy’s sister (Sapphire.. which makes sense if their planet is named Diamond or whatever but then like why is Icy named Icy?!). My heart dropped for Icy when the star looked like it worked so much that she physically manifested and there was a brief hug but it wasn’t strong enough in the end.
I wonder how the rest of that storyline is going to play out with only one episode remaining. Will Icy be able to break the curse on her sister? Will the Winx help her with this? Will she defrost her planet? Will she confront the witch and beat her? Why did she not take Sapphire-the-Fox with her in the beginning or now?  Why has she just left her on this frozen desolate planet? Because even if Sapphire remained a Fox, she would have still been by her side instead of separated for a very long time. It seems like unnecessary torment for both parties.
It is such an interesting arc that I think they left too far to the end. If this had been introduced sooner, it would have more time to be developed and more time to be executed. Instead, whatever happens will feel rushed (since the episodes are only 23 minutes long and are primarily centered around Bloom still).
In the other story line for these past two episodes, Sky came back. To which I am rolling my eyes. I would have liked for the entire squad to join them or even any other individual specialist (because you never seen Timmy, Riven, Brandon, Nabu(RIP), or Helia solo joining the Winx). Of course, he and Bloom are at odds because why not. He rescues the fox we now know as Sapphire and Icy loses her shit. He is then yeeted into the freezing waters. To which I roll my eyes again because it seems like Sky is always in mortal peril every other season and I am over it.
Then the Winx remember they have Sirenix (wow) and transform. I was not expecting this transformation to be different at all and it was. Honestly, the only way I realized this was Sirenix was because of the theme song. Like we got Cosmix at the beginning of this season and then revised Sirenix (which looked okay I suppose though way too pink) and revised Enchantix (which was FUGLY and I refuse to acknowledge) and then this. If this is the last “new” transformation we get... I am pissed because it too is hideous. I don’t understand any part of this transformation whatsoever. Yes, I get that the water is cold and this is winter but that still doesn’t explain most of the transformation. They have Crystals in their hair for no explained reason and like how is that supposed to help you in cold water (and that is the least of it). They have possibly the world’s ugliest unitard with the tackiest patterns which don’t really mesh with MY POWERS COME FROM THE OCEAN or their talents or really their colors or anything. They have these arm bracelets on from which it goes into a sleeve but like... their shoulders are still uncovered?!!!! Like what is the point. The only thing they possibly get right are the scale pattern pants and more practical boots. And then... And then... YOU GET THIS MONSTROSITY OF A BLANKET-MERMAID TAIL. Like 1) Harmonix had those flowy skirts to mimic a mermaid’s tail Sirenix did not 2) It is heavy and furry and PROVIDES NO WARMTH AT ALL 3) Why the fuck would you swim with that. It’s hideous and if I could cut off the blanket tails of everyone I would. Lastly, it’s the freaking fur. Somehow...that is what they have chosen to symbolize winter. FUR. Winter transformations come with FUR seems to be the RAI formula. And it’s like bad enough on its own but coupled with the rest of the problems in this transformation, it is a disaster. Especially when it is bunched around their waist. They look like furry embellished birds that have a long furry cape. Nothing about this transformation retains the “ancient gifts of the ocean” aspect and it is burned into my brain and I need it to leave. It is on par with Mythix for ugliest transformation outfit if Mythix was covered in Fur and then meshed with Sirenix and Harmonix half-heartedly. Ahhh MY EYES.
I am interested to see how the finale will play out. Because with every villain, there is a end of season finale hero-villain face-off. However, I am not really feeling it. You never get a taste of what the ramifications are for what Valtor has been doing because you never see it since Valtor inevitably steals the power of a star and then the Winx revive it. Like, what are the impacts to the people because of what Valtor has been doing (since you only ever see the Star guardians and nothing else). It also hasn’t raised any interplanetary concern. Valtor in Season 3 was such a huge foe because he affected everyone. We saw the affects of what he did (similar to the affects the Trix and the Army of Decay had on the area around them because everything was desolate and hopeless). He threw the balance of planets off by taking their magic. He was enslaving their people and turning them into mindless monsters who did his bidding. He was a powerful megolmanic who was bent on ruining the entire magical universe to become the most powerful being in the magical universe. It caused the schools to band together to help defeat him. Everybody recognized his mark. He felt dangerous. There was always a back and forth between the Winx and Valtor and it truly felt like the entire time the fate of the Magical Universe hung by a thread.
This season, there has been none of that (and to think of all that potential). It is honestly disappointing from an adventure/action/ plot standpoint especially considering that the writers chose to bring Valtor back. Him being back was supposed to have serious consequences and the fate of the Magical Universe lay once again in the Winx’s hands (because apparently nobody else is willing to protect it out of the gagillion fairies, witches, and specialists that exist) yet we feel zilch. I feel meh. He has this power (that somehow the Winx never stopped him from getting... they concentrated more on the reviving-the-star-again efforts rather than preventing him from draining the star in the first place) and he hasn’t used it. His speech is all most powerful person in the universe meogolmainc villain standard. But okay.. then what? What does it mean? What is he going to do? What is he going to trigger? How does NOBODY ELSE seem to care that he still exists and is a “threat”... like the Specialists have vehicles that take them through space... it wouldn’t be so difficult to assemble an international task force and confront Valtor in his castle... Saladin, Faragonda, Griselda, Griffin could easily get there if they want to but yet they have done nothing.
The finale episodes of the Winx are usually chock full of action that ends in a nice and tidy bow to signify the end of the season. I don’t know how this season will achieve that. There hasn’t been near enough action whatsoever. The Winx also haven’t grown more powerful since achieving Cosmix which means they are the same power level transformation wise as they were when Bloom first confronted Valtor and they are expected to defeat him? If there is an epic battle (probably the most hasty in Winx history with no build up whatsoever)... I want more people than just the Winx to be involved. I want it to be a multi-school effort just like Season 1 and Season 3 were. I want to see everybody kicking BUTT (including the Specialists and Roxy). I want them to bring everybody back and give them a chance to shine and wipe the floor with Valtor (it would be nice too if some of the parents and the royalty were to participate and do something instead of just being bags of flour and damsels in distress because they were powerful too at some point and I want them to go to their children and be like I’ve still got it).
I would like to see Icy’s arc wrapped up while still keeping the main focus of the finale episode on the Winx Club (note I said the Winx Club and not Bloom). I would like to see some couple fluff. I would also like it to come to a nice conclusion such that if there is no season 9, the series as an end ended on a high note with no loose ends or cliffhangers or horrible finales.
While I will always firmly believe that Winx is truly seasons 1-3 including the movie, I will always want more seasons. If only to flesh out these beloved characters a little bit more along with some interesting plots. I would also be completely up for a season redo as far as seasons 4-7 go (in the old style if possible). I want to see those seasons done better with all the things that made it so frustrating edited out (like character drama, Bloom focus, wimpy transformations etc). If they could only make them more cohesive with the feelings of seasons 1-3. Because it is what 15 years later, and I still have so many questions and I want to know more about every character (and less Bloom and Sky. Honestly, can the writers get the message that we are sick of seeing them every 5 seconds. Give all the other characters the chance to shine).
Fingers crossed for a good ending and season 8.... it’s been an alright run.
