Empire Names and Meanings Redux
Ancient and Divine Animals
Noble Creatures and beasts are the true forms of the Souls, the grand spirits and other such incredible beings.
Land Predators
The powerful and deadly creatures of the world. Some of these names include words from the pre-connection era of the world.
Amphibians and Reptiles
Admittedly predominantly a collection of snakes.
General Aquatic
A small list of names for now but the things of the sea that don't quite fit with the fish and can't be merged with other words.
Freshwater Fish
A small collection of commonly eaten and popular fish that grow inland in ponds and streams.
Saltwater Fish
Names that usually lean towards cats of great size and more exotic fish.
Crustaceans and Mollusks
All the shelled critters whose names usually evoke a sensation of defensiveness and protection.
Raptors
The most powerful and deadly birds known to the world of strelles - commonly seen in the myths and tales of the Souls. WindClan even proclaims that they're equally as sacred to the Skulks/
Seed Birds
Birds are an extremely popular choice for names - their variety of patterns and behaviors provide a sufficient amount of variety for the clans.
Water Birds
With birds being so popular, it's not unusual or surprising for RiverClan to lean so heavily towards aquatic birds themselves. They're not exclusive to RiverClan but they're very popular methods of denoting someone's skill with fishing or affinity to water.
Large Herbivores
...
Rodents
...
Bugs and Creepy Crawlies
Though bugs are agitating and a somewhat unappreciated part of life, the clans also acknowledge that their will to live and thrive is impressive. Bugs struggle through the world on tiny wings and tinier legs and such resilience is respected.
Color Based
Among the most common names prefix-wise. Especially for a tired molly who just had a litter of kits, it's just easier to use the colors to name your kit. Many names also have implications related to the Spirits of the Clans; something meant to nudge the kits in a specific direction.
Pattern Based
Equally common as colors as a prefix for a tired queen, pattern based names are popular especially when a kit has a notable pattern.
Texture Based
...
Appearance Based
...
Personality Based
...
Light Based
...
Water Based
Prominent in RiverClan, water based names are often very emotional or have forceful connotations. Even cats out of RiverClan will sometimes grant their kit a water-based name in the hopes of drawing Riversoul's eye over them for protection.
Ice Based
...
Heat Based
Names popular to ThunderClan that emphasize their passion and determination. Though fire is frightening, living in a forest ThunderClan has been forced to learn about the benefits of small flames.
Wind Based
...
Ground Based
...
General Plants

Herb Based

Additional Notes for the Names of Strelles
When I was creating the list, little aspects of worldbuilding cropped up and I needed to keep track of it. These additions don't have to be part of anyone else's world if you're just using the list for their meanings and the variety but I think they're nice to have anyway.
Might wanna keep checking up on this if you want to keep up with them. Every time I post a name update; I'll probably update this section a little bit too.

The Legionary's Charter - 02B (Shores): Standard Conduct Regulations
Tumblr media
The Shorerisen find themselves in the interesting position of being neither the most lax faction, nor the most strict when it comes to their laws. They found themselves with a weighted system of worship not unlike the Stormborn though their favoritism rests at the paws of Riversoul and his daughter, Huyewa. The Shores believe themselves to be the favored of all the gods but especially their patron god - rarely do the Shorerisen ever go without food, rarely is their home barracks ever raided by the other factions. The Shorerisen would make it out to be that they’d never faced a hardship in their lives, insistent on the reminder that Waving Shore - their founder - had existed on the island long before the other faction leaders had ever set paw on their land. They are thus a very spiritual faction - not quite as superstitious as the Fennyielders or as rigid as the Galespun - always keeping an ear pricked for what Riversoul has to say on a situation; willing to adhere to whatever he decrees.
1) A legionary shall defend his faction from all that seeks to destroy it
2) A legionary shall retain strictly platonic relationships with members of the other factions
a) Non-Platonic relations between high-ranking members of different factions shall be demoted
b) Should a high-rank be Soul-Chosen, it is left up to the Souls themselves to decide punishment
c) Non-Platonic relations between a legionary and a loner is permitted provided the relationship is kept quiet, and the partner does not poach
3) A legionary is expected to respect and abide by the territory lines drawn in the empire
a) Should borders need to be crossed, the one crossing is expected to don a diplomat’s circuit as a display of peace
b) Starmenders are permitted to cross borders without circuits in times of emergency
c) The only respectable border is one that is clear - a faction who neglects to mark their borders open themselves up to territory challenges
d) A legionary caught poaching repeatedly may be made to hunt for the other faction before they are allowed to eat themselves
4) Cubs are the future and elders are the past - they are always to be fed first
a) A Styrman has multiple lives and is expected to sacrifice one in the face of famine upon their faction
5) Prey shall only be killed to be eaten
a) A legionary does not torment their prey
b) A legionary offers thanks to the prey, to Slysoul and to Treesoul for its life
6) Unity Games are held at the Kirkyard from the moment Sunsoul’s Eyes are Widest to when Moonsoul’s Eyes have begun to close - there is to be no spilled blood during these times
a) A legionary who violates the peace during these nights shall be demoted to cadet tasks until the next moon
b) A cadet who violates the peace during these nights will be barred from attending the next Unity Games and held back from promotion if they were close
c) A legionary who violates the peace more than three times will be barred attendance from all future Unity Games
7) Mercy and Honor is what separates the Empire from a cruel band of rogues united under one banner - a faction is expected to help a creature in need
a) NO faction may ignore the cries of a cub in need and to do so to invite stillbirths and misfortune
b) Should a non-moggi cub be located, it is acceptable to pass them off to the Stormborn
8) No legionary should ever enter battle intending to end a life
a) A legionary’s body shall be returned to their faction for burial rites
b) A body that cannot be returned should be substituted with a totem

It’s really sad to know I’ll never get to read anymore of one of my favorite series that was written by a wonderful writer and person because they were verbally assaulted by pathetic excuses for human beings hiding behind “anon” and bullied off the platform.

@mastervlasta || Reunion
Miru sighed, walking down the road after dark.  He was running into dead ends with his search for Raimundo.  However, Miru had helped an elderly couple and their cat.  The night before, he tracked down someone who stole a purse and gave it back to the owner.  Even earlier in the week, he was able to prevent a mugging.  Despite his failure in finding the brother of Vlasta, Miru did have an eventful week.
Tumblr media
But it still bugged him that he couldn’t figure out where this man was.  He looked down at the glowing screen in front of him a bit perplexed.  Marking off another area as lacking evidence of this missing person, Miru continued down the street.  The young dragon just looked toward the river that ran through the city and a strange urge wanted him to go for a swim.  Miru shook his head; no time.
Winding his way through back passages, Miru was starting to get antsy.  He was looking for anything at this point that wasn’t chasing a cat to get it back home.  But it seemed all was quiet, still.  Had the bars let out yet? Probably not.  He pushed his glasses up his nose quietly and let out another sigh.
“I probably should go get something to drink,” he said to himself.  Miru was feeling rather parched, after all.  And he had his job, so it wasn’t like he didn’t have the currency to pay for something.

After much thought, I'm leaving Tumblr and I want you to know how much I have loved your blog. I had rape fantasies for long but did not know how to approach them. You, along with a load of other dark writers gave me the opportunity for that.
Thank you so much for writing what you write. Dark fics have been my solace for years now. Authors like you, riversoul, gotnofucks, sapphirescrolls and cherienyphe are so blessed. I wish all of you good luck and would just like to say that don't let the haters get to you.
You've been a wonderful blog Roo. I will miss reading your stuff. Thank you so much for everything. Good bye.
Take care of yourself and stay safe. I'm sorry to see you go but I wish you the best. Thank you so much for reading and for saying goodbye. 💞💞💞💞

D&D Character Commission - Tsujin Riversoul
Another commission I worked on for a former friend — of their dnd character from the game we were in together. This one's a cleaned up sketch with flat colors + texture to make it a bit more interesting. Scale brushes are gonna be my new best friend lol.
Tsujin is part of a reclusive, homebrew fish race called Kashikoi, as well as our party's resident uncle funky & spirital mystic.

The Forest Clans - The Marked
Names are an integral part of clan life - the first ceremony any clanborn kit goes through is the naming ceremony welcoming them to the clan and bringing them to the attention of the Souls. From there out, the most important stages of their lives can be marked with their changes in names. With names being so incredibly important, it makes the changing of a name a serious thing. Altering the name of a clan-cat through a formal ceremony is something usually only happens during positive events and milestones in a cat's life.
But occasionally, it will be used for punishment.
These specific affixes are often used to mark what specific class of crimes a cat has committed so that they be reminded of their actions until the day they die or another takes pity on them and officially alters their name once more.
|| More names will be added as I deem them fitting|||
---
-amber - A cat who is violent, cruel or senselessly kills. Often given to cats who have killed more than thrice in battle or have killed a protected entity
Bile- | Vile- A cat who is selfish or self-centered, particularly in regard to their siblings. One who breaks Littlespirit's law - a much heavier title in ThunderClan
Bitter- | -sour - A cat who breaks the laws of Sweetsoul. Traditionally given to kit abusers.
Bleak- | Bland- | -laze - A cat who violates or aggravates the laws of Wishsoul. Traditionally given post humorously to leaders who've done very little to help their clan. "Bland" is far less serious and often used jokingly between apprentices
Rend- | -splinter - A cat who breaks the laws of Moonsoul, often in the form of unprovoked attacks, grave-robbing and false-prophets.
Rot- | -wilt- A cat who breaks the laws of either Haanuki or Treesoul. Often Rot- is given is fallen healers.
Scorn(ed)- | -fester - A cat who breaks the laws of Bravesoul. Names traditionally given to cowards and traitors.
Smother(ing)- | Cruel - A cat who breaks Sunsoul's laws - particularly one of cruelty or a lack of kindness.
Stagnant- | Still- A cat who breaks the laws of Riversoul, standing by unmoving and unchanged. Frequently given to cats guilty of being bystanders.
Waste- A cat who violates Slysoul's laws. Arguably one of the most common of the marked as the level of severity varies depending on the time of season. WindCln has a system based on the Wastes.

the thaw sets spring creeks to giggling.
old fears rush on by.
new joys swirl ’round my tingling toes.
will summer follow bringing lazy bliss, and telltale ripples of a stolen kiss?
the seasons of life and love flood the soul.
take my hand, and let us dive deep. let us flow together, till the end.

Celebrations of the Prides: The Ushering of Leaders
A very important festival-like celebration, The Ushering of Leaders is both a serious funeral to say farewell to the previous leader of the Frothing Shores while warmly welcoming the latest one. The death of a leader is a tragic one and often-times can feel world shattering - this s especially true for legendary leaders who truly gave it their all during hard times; creating and defining the stability of many cats’ lives.
Easing this monumental upheaval in life, the first half of the celebration - traditionally starting at sunset - is the funeral portion of the event. The leader’s body is prepared with herbs to hide the scents of death, their wounds dressed and cleaned to make the cat seem as if they’re sleeping. It’s the duty of the Sacred Rank to send them on to the afterlife but medics step in when one hasn’t been selected. This is a massive farewell from pride to leader; tales are told by everyone of what the leader’s done for them and their keystone moments. Elders are often prodded into speaking of the leader and how they behaved in their kithood; letting everyone grieve and bond over the cat who would then join the Stars.
When the first rays of sunlight touch the camp, the pride moves onto the festival part of the celebration where large amounts of food - traded and carefully raised - are brought in. With this, the pride brings the new leader (who would’ve received their Nine Lives during the funeral procession) forward to place a paw on their leader’s body and swear publicly their allegiance to the Frothing Shores, promising to uphold their values; culture and above all, keep them safe and happy. There’s a massive feast and the Frothing Shores sings loud songs of cheer and joy - a new leader has been selected and approved of under the eyes of Moonsoul and that’s something to celebrate after all! When it starts raining right as the celebration portion of the of event happens, the Frothing Shores is quick to shower praise upon that leader; speaking highly of the fact that Riversoul is standing over them, blessing their new reign.
Given that a leader is only buried at sunhigh, it's a given that deputies are officially chosen during the same time. As they follow the code, a deputy is pointed out before a leader gets their nine lives, but their position is only locked in at Sunhigh when their leader has been formally accepted by the pride.
The Frothing Shores patrols are noted to be particularly friendly and lenient during this time. It’s a sacred time of celebration and mourning; they’re known for leaving fish with herbs of lavender wrapped around them to notify their neighbors of the death of their leader. The large fish is often caught by the new leader and deputy themselves, a sign of peace while the celebration is held and the first notification gained by the Roaring Thunder and the Raging Wind that the Frothing Shores is selecting a new leader. Rarely during times of true peace as the Ushering only end on that second moonhigh, the Frothing Shores’s leader will invite the leaders and diplomats of the other prides to Fourtrees to share a small feast, re-affirm any treaties and trade agreements previously made and to gain approval from their senior leaders. Such meetings are traditionally only held during the reconstruction era of post-war times.

The Forest Clans - The Nine Souls
Tumblr media
Sunsoul - The Day King
Depicted as a massive fire-golden caracal with a bleeding socket in the center of her forehead, Sunsoul is known as the provider goddess and the god of the day. For the creatures of the world, she pulled her third eye from her head and threw it into the sky to warm the creatures of the world. While the eye regrew, she watched the world steadily grow dark as the one in the sky began to fizzle out. She made the decision to pluck the third eye from her head every day, tossing it into the sky to light the way for the creatures of the world. It’s said that her eye was smaller back when she first started tossing it into the sky because she threw it up prematurely to make up for the emptiness of the night sky.
With her eye-plucking, Sunsoul is known as the goddess of compassion, kindness, martyrdom, the sun, lightning, fire and storms. It’s said that she gave ThunderClan their manes of fire when the Ancients still had the favor of the Souls and when they were trapped into their mortal forms, she didn’t have the heart to take them away and the large thick plumes of fur on her throat a marker of her previous favor.
Domains: Martyrdom, The Sun, Fire, Lightning, Kindness, Dry Storms

Moonsoul - The Night King
Depicted as a cream-ish caracal with a mangled socket in the center of their forehead, Moonsoul is known as the peaceful god and lord of the night. When it became clear that Sunsou;’s eye wasn’t enough to warm the day and the night equally, he voluntarily threw his own silver eye into the sky during the night while Sunsoul’s eye regrew - it’s said that this decision is why the sun is bigger now than it was when the clans were first founded. Moonsoul frequently uses the eye in the sky to Look upon the creatures that roam the world beneath his gaze. When The First Great Battle broke out, Moonsoul grabbed the floating spirits of their dying clanmates and tossed them into the empty sky, allowing them to be seen by the living as stars.
Moonsoul is known as the god of peace, the dead, leaf-fall, secrets, the moon, travelers and the stars above. Moonsoul is in charge of the Souls of the dead and is the final barrier between a leader receiving all nine lives or receiving none at all - a cat who believes in him will have the opportunity for their Soul to be expanded nine times and therefore, receive nine lives. It’s said that when StarClan is silent even to the Prophets, that means that Moonsoul is looking down upon the clans personally and watching their behavior.

Child(ren): Haseni | Silverfoot (freedom, the wind)
Riversoul - The Drifting
A silver blue fishing cat with third eye golden eye that swirls with mysteries and intrigue, Riversoul is the god of moving water and aquatic storms. It’s said that the world grew dry under the combined might of Sunsoul and Moonsoul’s eyes but rather than make them stop, Riversoul reared up until his claws touched the sky and he tore it open bringing a shower of water down onto the land. When he removed his paw, the hole resealed itself - then he came up with an idea. He took his paw and dragged long paths and deep holes before clawing at the sky again. This time when it sealed, the fallen water followed the paths he dug to form lakes, rivers and streams. Many cats say that newleaf rain is the dripping of his pelt as he stretched over the world, shaking Sunsoul awake.
With this, Riversoul is known as the god of rain, moving water, water animals, the future and prophecies. Sometimes when Riversoul sees a particularly interesting dream, he’ll hold onto a creature to watch their dreams to completion - sometimes these cats never awake again.

When she looked at the rocky earth strewn across the world, she dragged her claws through the earth and tugged the plants to the surface. She propped up the trees, placed the bushes and sprinkled the grasses across the ground. When creatures grew sick, she urged the ground to grow more plants - herbs and berries to heal and sent her servants to lead healers to the medical plants to heal them. When the creatures grew thankless and began taking and taking but never giving back or showing gratitude for any of the things herbs they used, sh urged several of the plants to grow poisons.

She’s so stealthy, she often sneaks up on creatures unheard and it’s said she was the one that taught all predators the basics to hunting. With a completely black coat, her trio of amber eyes stand out with blinding clarity when she stares down at a creature from the shadows. Her skill for hunting has made her perfect for capturing the frightened souls of dying creatures to have them escorted to Moonsoul so that they may pass on.
Slysoul’s domains are that of the hunt, stealth, shadows, the dark, cleverness and winter. Slysoul’s Owls and hawks are a terror to the clans with one being responsible for kit snatching and the others for snatching adult cats. That’s not to say she’s always cruel however and ThunderClan in particular knows to follow the owls if other famine occurs for Slysoul will lead them to salvation.
Domain: The Hunt, Stealth, Shadows, Darkness, Cleverness, Death, Winter
Sacred Animals: Owls and Hawks
Mates: Sunsoul
Child(ren): Fleetfoot (the clever, planner), Suhakur | Redtalon (the reaper, harvester), Temekur | Silentalon (merciful, plentiful)
Sweetsoul - The Avenging
A slender and vibrant chocolate furred king cheetah with piercing green eyes and a long winding tail. Watching the violence of the world, Sweetsoul urged the creatures that roam to be more compassionate to each other - reminding all sides that every enemy they face is someone’s precious little one, a beloved child and if they can avoid a fight, they should. She taught the creatures to encourage the creatures of the world to redirect their passion towards protecting their family, to care for their weak and to nurture the bonds they’ve formed. Sweetsoul is a deeply loving Soul and can become enraged when others shirk their duty to their family and kin - her wrath knows no bounds when she thinks someone is neglecting their family or worse, showing them cruelty.
Sweetsoul holds the domains of kinship and warmth, pregnancy, fertility, safety, plenty and of course retribution. More felt than seen, Sweetsoul is often said to be the blaze of love you feel when looking at your kin, the exhausted love when giving birth to kits and the fury of a mother bear when your kin is in danger.
Domain: Kinship, Warmth, Plenty, Safety, Retribution, Pregnancy
Sacred Animals: Boars and Bears
Mates: Bravesoul
Child(ren): Nimuhav | Littlespirit (the caring, the warm),
Wishsoul - The Ripple
A lanky bronzy serval with sharp eyes and a mischievous smile, Wishsoul is the Fluttering Wing. Always lurking near the edges of major battles or arguments, Wishoul roams the world casually taking delight in both the failures and successes of all the mortals beneath his eyes. He enjoys gleefully watching their courage and creativity as they handled everything that was thrown at them. Wishsoul is deeply proud of himself with a cocky grin. Though Wishsoul is drawn to dramatic events of high stakes events, he’s not excluded from smaller ones and in fact is said to decide whether or not someone receives good or bad fortune based on the amount of either fortune they’ve already received.
Easily frustrated, Wishsoul is known as the god of karma, luck, victory, failure, strife, balance and indignation. He’s sometimes viewed as especially cruel for his casual decision to cast bad luck down upon those he believes have been too fortunate or grant good luck to those who’ve caused suffering.
Domain: Karma, Lucky, Victory, Failure, Strife, Balance and Indignation.
Sacred Animals: Golden Beetles and Salamanders
Mates: Bravesoul
Child(ren): N/A
Bravesoul - The Warrior
A large russet serval with two torn ears and a bobbed tail, Bravesoul is the goddess of war and battle. A sharp gazed and determined molly often stalking fights of every kind - verbal, mental, emotional, physical - Bravesoul sees them all and provides cats with the rush of adrenaline they feel when they face down a terrifying beast. She relishes in the craziest and most desperate battle plans, the sensation of satisfaction when a warrior dies for their clan. Bravesoul is often described as the heart of a true warrior - the rush of battling others to defend your clans, the thrill of the fight, the blood pounding in your ears when you’re facing off against a new enemy - all cats of the clans feel Bravesoul in their veins. In fact, the absence of Bravesoul is exactly what separates a clan cat from an ordinary cat.
Bravesoul is of course the goddess of pride, strength, devotion, honor, strateg, kin war and battle strategy. Often a cat that feels Bravesoul the most intensely is the cat standing atop the defeated, panting forms of his enemies having painted a line in the sand with their blood and his between himself and their clan.
Domain: War, Blood Kin, Strategy, Strength, Devotion, Honor and Pride
Sacred Animals: Moose and Fire Ants
