I cannot stand Mike parr, all he ever did was wind people up online and rage bait because he was jealous of the lack of attention he was getting. It made the whole shitty 2017 stuff even worse.

Even if it wasn't his intention, then that's definitely how it came across.

And if Rebecca comes back I will fucking scream. My headcanon for the last few years was that she was offed during covid (( her lack of anything as a character made me wanna puke)).

I don't think Rebecca is coming back. I feel like they would have announced that at the same time they announced Mike Parr because they left together. It MIGHT be a way to bring back Seb but I don't have any idea what possible purpose Ross serves anything. Maybe it's to do another go round for Ross and Charity, and given these producers that's more than plausible. But he was a useless character before he left. I cannot imagine how useless he will be now. And yes, Mike Parr was a jealous ass. We can all say that because he acted like a petulant child most of the time. I will also have zero part of watching Fauxbert play happy family with Robert's husband and son so if that's the grand plan absolutely not.

I just checked Reddit and omg @ the amount of ppl that hate the Robert and Aaron. I never realized ppl hated them. It doesn’t really make sense to me to hate them. They were so great together. Obviously some things they did were a bit ? But overall I loved them

Give them their due, my morals were tested after the log cabin scene. Robert handcuffing Aaron to a radiator and holding him at gun point wasn't exactly "true love" behaviour. I can understand to an extent why people weren't big supporters when they officially became a couple the following year.

That being said, there was an 8-9 month gap in between the end of their affair and the beginning of their relationship. During that time we got to see both of them develop as individuals. Robert had come to accept his sexuality and was open to his family knowing he still cared for Aaron. Aaron used this time to heal after the traumatic event (and slowly differentiate between his anger/frustration and yet quietly holding affection for Robert at the same time).

If none of that had convinced the antis then surely Robert being the one for Aaron to finally open up about the abuse his dad had inflicted upon him should've changed their views. Considering that both characters are morally grey themselves. Like, Aaron was never perfect and they both grew up with a father who treated them wrongly because neither Robert or Aaron were who they wanted their son to be. The trauma caused by that upbringing led them to push others (and in Aaron's case, himself) away. Neither of them are good nor bad. They saw that in one another hence why I think they were are perfect for each other.

So basically the antis are boring robots who lack the ability to understand substance. That's probably why they favour John.

rewatching november 2019 bc im a sucker for angst and it's truly unbelievable how the very day aaron finds out rob was moved to the isle of wight chas is already telling him they are over and "it's time to move on" and she says it just after aaron tells her he loves robert (for the millionth time) this woman is sick in the head lol

Well the whole plot-line was contrived tbh 😂 Yes, I actually cringed so not good.

And yes, the only good that can come out of this is Robert-related angst

What’s your favorite Robert and Aaron scene?

I have tons but this 👇 is one of my all time favs and it's really underrated I think. People always talk about their weddings and reunion and Super Soap Week 2016 and those all have some fantastic scenes but this one is a little different.

It's at the end of the (first) wedding episode. There's a lot of excitement and happiness throughout the entire ep but this scene brings back the reality of what they're facing. There's also the fact that not long before the wedding they were dealing with all that drama that almost made them split up and led to Aaron getting arrested.

Yet in this moment outside of the pub away from everyone else you see how much they're recommitted to one another and how much the very idea that they're going to be torn apart for any length of time is killing them both.

Also I love how vulnerable they both are in this scene. Rob talking about Jack and how much it clearly meant to him that Aaron stepped in when Diane was talking about him. Even though it's only a brief part of the convo it's important because Rob doesn't open up a lot about Jack.

Aaron opening up about how scared he was and how he didn't want to leave Rob and Rob telling him how much he didn't want him to go either.

Them using the Mr. Sugden and Mr. Dingle line for the first time.

The scene ending with Rob just holding Aaron like maybe if he could just keep him there in his arms everything would be okay.

Such a powerful scene but done in this quiet beautiful way and it will always be one that gets to me everytime I watch it.

Also I love the song in the background. (It's a cover of Rihanna's Please don't stop the music by Jamie Cullum)

As far as we know, Ryan’s not coming back any time soon. But we can always hope for a Robron reunion one day!

We know Aaron likes football, but unlike other soap characters we don't know which football team he supports. What do you think?

I have thought about this too but I have no idea.

I suppose Leeds United in theory? But I mean you can enjoy playing football without supporting a football team. We know Danny supprts Liverpool and/or Stockport County but that doesn really reflect a man born and brought up in North Yorkshire.

Well, they'd be better if Aaron was in any way affected by fucking the love of his life's brother. If he was deliberately re-creating their affair (aka when they fell in love) instead of them happening for Plot Reasons.

Ive been a fan for years, i periodically go back and rewatch the robron storyline clips on youtube but the most recent rewatch is what has really ignited my love for robert bc i watched clips of him on classic emmerdale for the first time

Do you think Ryan Hawley would ever return to Emmerdale?

I hope he does at some point but right now, I’d rather he stay as far away from the show as possible (don’t hate me for that). I don’t keep up with the goings on that much but from the few things I have seen just through notifications and whatnot, it is still in a dire state especially with killing off kids of late (instead of getting rid of unnecessary/long overdue to have exited other characters) and they still haven’t handled Zak’s death yet.

The show DESPERATELY needs to get rid of last of the trio and bring in a fresh single producer that would wipe out the cursed PLOT-focused direction the show took on since post-SSW2016 (courtesy of IM). The show needs to go back to ORGANIC/CHARACTER-based STORIES that have a beginning, middle and end. Shock plots do nothing but lead to characters going out of character (and a lot of times making you dislike them for their OOC ways) and returning then back to character after said plot is completed with little long-term effects.

At that point, I do hope Ryan does return (give him anything he wants and all the downtime as well) and Robert’s story can be handled properly with integrating him back into the village of the damned as well as the gradual progression of getting him and Aaron back together as well as the reintroduction of Sebastian.
