Influencers on Slow Fashion Movements
Slow fashion is a movement or an awareness and an approach to produce clothing which considers all aspects of the supply chain and aims to respect people, the environment and animals (Marquis, 2021). It is a reaction to the fast fashion sector, which is known for producing clothing of poor quality and at a low cost that is intended to be worn just a few times before being thrown away. The slow fashion movement encourages consumers to purchase fewer, better-made clothes that are made to last. Additionally, it highlights the significance of ethical and sustainable production methods, such as employing eco-friendly materials, giving workers a fair wage, and limiting waste.

Influencers, bloggers, and online groups support slow fashion by emphasising the importance of consumption moderation and publicising environmentally friendly solutions. Influencers from all around the world are starting to share their personal stories about ethical and sustainable fashion, as well as advice on how to make more responsible and thoughtful purchases. These influencers make use of their social media platforms to showcase the sustainable clothing they choose to wear, offer suggestions for shopping more sustainably, and support companies and brands who share their values.

One influencer on Instagram who showed and support slow fashion movement is Dr Anita Vandyke (@rocket_science). According to her bio on Instagram (n.d), Dr Anita has her careers as a doctor, rocket scientist, and an author for a bestselling book 'A Zero Waste Life'. Besides that, she is an environmental activist and slow fashion influencer. She is well-known for her zero-waste lifestyle and environmentally conscious clothing selections. Dr Anita promotes slow fashion by encouraging people to buy high-quality, timeless items rather than rapid fashion. She also promotes eco-friendly and ethical fashion labels, as well as antique and secondhand goods. Within posting her contents, she gives advice on how to develop a sustainable wardrobe and organises seminars and events to teach people about slow fashion and zero-waste living.

I was tagged a couple of times to share 10 things about me, and am trying to share all new facts! If you want to learn more, visit some of my selfies 😜😜 1. I didn’t always love to cook - my senior year of high school I went to see a nutritionist who opened my eyes to the health world and I started to slowly enjoy the process of making food! 2. I’ve only ever broken one bone in my body - it was my left arm in pre-school, and I still have the funky elbow to prove it 😂 3. The strangest place I’ve ever been kissed was in the basement of an empty synagogue 😙😙 4. I wanted to get my nose pierced ever since I was in middle school, but my parents said if I got one they’d refuse to help me pay for college... so I got one right after graduation 😂😂 5. I love to travel, and my next trips are Boston and Houston. 6. My biggest pet peeve is flaky people. 7. I actually had two blogs before I had this one: a food review one called Embrace the Munchies, and a joint #zerowaste account called Ladies with Repurpose. 8. I love the feeling of nostalgia - it gets especially strong when the weather changes, and this spring has brought back so many fond memories of my life in the northeast. 9. The albums I’m listening to on repeat right now are KOD by J. Cole, Isolation by Kali Uchis and Dear Annie by Rejjie Snow. 10. I’m currently reading my 17th/25 books this year, it’s called Into the Woods by Tana French and is based in Ireland. - - Thank you to @eco.erin and @lesswaste_birdie for tagging me to share 10 facts about myself! A practical guide to improving your life--and your impact on the world--in thirty simple days by radically reducing waste without losing your lifestyle. Overwhelmed by clutter, anxious about your environmental footprint, and looking to make a change? You don't have to be a rocket scientist to reconfigure your consumption--still, it doesn't hurt that Anita Vandyke is. A qualified engineer and the eco-luxe lifestyle champion behind the popular zero-waste Instagram @Rocket-Science, Anita Vandyke has made the change to a zero-waste life, and through hands-on advice and charming illustrations, she shows us that with ease and style, we can too. By incorporating thirty simple rules one day at a time, A Zero Waste Life is a manageable guide to forming a more conscientious, intentional life in just one month. Offered inside is guidance for tackling waste and making ethical choices when it comes to shopping, eating, travel, beauty, and more. With her signature elegance and encouraging voice, Vandyke proves that we can stop depending on plastics, tidy our homes, and clear the way for a cleaner future--and that when we stop wasting, we start living.
When people hear of the conservationist lifestyle, it sounds idealistic and undesirable—a life spent sacrificing conveniences and laboring over smelly compost. Not quite so, according to stylish lifestyle expert, social influencer, and qualified rocket scientist Anita Vandyke, whose popular Instagram (@Rocket_Science) documenting her hip, conservationist lifestyle has amassed more than 82,000 followers, and who is the author of the upcoming, much anticipated, beautifully illustrated, and highly readable guidebook A Zero Waste Life in Thirty Days. Releasing just in time for Earth Day (April 22, 2020), A Zero Waste Life in Thirty Days makes it easy—even convenient, fun, and envy producing!—to become a conservationist. Inside, Vandyke elegantly and encouragingly invites readers to follow a simple, manageable plan that will incorporate sustainable techniques into their lives one day at a time over a 30-day period, and leave them with a more intentional, fulfilling, and Earth-friendly lifestyle. Vandyke focuses on incorporating practical ways to reduce waste, such as with:
food and shopping (become a better cook, reduce costs from packaging, and spend less eating out);
beauty and cleaning (DIY organic beauty and cleaning products to avoid toxins);
and recycling and composting (the basics and why it isn’t as daunting (or smelly!) as it seems).
Vandyke says quitting her corporate job helped her find her path, and that her financial savviness during her “funemployment” is what led to a zero waste lifestyle. “I don’t have all the answers to living a 100% zero waste life,” she says. “It’s a goal, nothing more. I believe we can all be everyday activists and take little steps to reduce our waste.

Wie versucht ihr einen nachhaltigeren Lebensstil in eurem Alltag zu integrieren?💚 Den Ansatz zu einem Müll - freien zu Hause von @rocket_science finden wir für alle Starter richtig gut! ・・・ 📸 @sustainable_collective Have you heard of the three steps to zero waste method before? 🌿 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1️⃣ Reduce your waste - this means using up what you already have before you buy anything new. This is a moisturiser that was given to me as a gift, which I’ll use up and reuse the container. 2️⃣ Low waste option - this means choosing a brand that aligns with your values and has packaging that can be recycled or allows you to bring back. 3️⃣ Zero waste option - make your own moisturiser or choose a bar option✌🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you are on the beginning of your journey, perhaps this could be something that would be the perfect start 😊⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Credit: @rocket_science ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #SustainableCollective #sustainableliving #sustainability #reducewaste #diycosmetics #ecobeauty #diybeauty #ecocosmetics #minimalism #zerowaste #wastefree #zerowastehome #plasticfree #journeytozerowaste #zerowasteuk #zerowasteliving #zerowastetips #goingzerowaste #ecofriendly #reducewaste #zerowastelifestyle #zerowastejourney #sustainablelifestyle #reducereuserecycle #ecofriendlyproduct (hier: Stuttgart, Germany) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bxw0WAyiuzl/?igshid=1fzdnhs0u8qc7

Chatbot Grok was recently launched The public exchange of barbs between OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Elon Musk continues. Last week, Tesla's CEO announced the launch of Grok , a ChatGPT competitor that delivers answers peppered with crude humor. Altman on Thursday evening posted a screenshot of the latest version of the OpenAI platform, which now allows the creation of custom versions of ChatGPT. Altman instructs: “Be a chatbot that answers questions with the creepy humor of the boomer generation (born in the 40s-60s).” The cringe humor of the boomer generation,” the creator of ChatGPT trolls Grok ChatGPT Builder responds: “Great, the chatbot is configured! It was called Grok." The description of the created chatbot says that it tells ancient jokes from the generation of our grandfathers. [caption id="attachment_81968" align="aligncenter" width="618"] ChatGPT[/caption] In response, Musk posted the following photo, clearly hinting at the dominance of Grok, which humiliates ChatGPT.

The photo shows Shackleton Crater NASA presented an image of the Shackleton crater, which is located at the South Pole of the Moon The image was created based on images obtained by the LROC (Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera), which has been operating since 2009, and the ShadowCam module on board the South Korean Danuri satellite, which was launched in August 2022. ShadowCam was developed by Malin Space Science Systems and Arizona State University. LROC can take detailed images of the lunar surface but has limited ability to capture images of the shadowed part of the Moon, which never receives direct sunlight. ShadowCam is 200 times more light-sensitive than LROC and can operate successfully in extremely low light conditions, revealing terrain features and details that are not visible to LROC. ShadowCam uses sunlight reflected from geological features on the Moon or Earth to capture images in shadows. [caption id="attachment_58069" align="aligncenter" width="600"] NASA[/caption] However, ShadowCam's light sensitivity prevents it from capturing images of parts of the Moon that are directly illuminated. Because each camera is optimized for specific lighting conditions near the lunar poles, analysts can combine images from both instruments to create a comprehensive visual map of the terrain and geologic features of both the brightest and darkest parts of the Moon. With ShadowCam, NASA can examine in detail the permanently shadowed areas of the Moon, giving scientists a much better view of the Moon's South Pole region. This area has never been explored by humans and is of great interest to science and research because it is believed to contain deposits of ice or other frozen volatiles. Scientists believe layers of icy sediment have existed on the Moon for millions or billions of years, and the ability to study the samples could contribute to our understanding of how the Moon and our solar system evolved. Ice deposits can also serve as an important resource because they are composed of hydrogen and oxygen, which can be used as rocket fuel or life support systems.

Starlink's popularity is growing rapidly SpaceX is set to open an office in Dublin, which will be the first European office for the company founded by Elon Musk. The move comes as the US tech business seeks to expand sales of its Starlink satellite broadband service across the region. The Sunday Times, citing its source, reports that the decision to open in Ireland follows the global rise in popularity of the Starlink service and that the company will seek to build a financial team there. [caption id="attachment_54454" align="aligncenter" width="780"] SpaceX's[/caption] Elon Musk is preparing to open SpaceX's first European office The global space economy grew 8% to $546 billion in 2022 and is projected to grow another 41% over the next five years, according to a leading space nonprofit. The sector is expected to demonstrate resilience in the coming years, despite global economic uncertainty and a recent slowdown in space investment. According to the Space Foundation, there were 186 launch attempts in 2022 and 145 in the previous year. Of those, 81 were commercial launches, 50 of which were conducted by Musk's industry-leading SpaceX. The US dominated civil and defense spending in space, accounting for almost 60% of total spending. China comes in second place with a share of 14%. The European Space Agency came in third with a 5% share. Previously, Musk confirmed that his company SpaceX received permission to launch the Starship spacecraft.

No launch date yet American billionaire Elon Musk has confirmed that his company SpaceX has received permission for the orbital launch of the Starship spacecraft from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Congratulations to SpaceX for completing and documenting the 57 items required by the FAA for Starship's second flight. It is worth noting that 6 out of 63 points relate to later flights. SpaceX has met the requirements of the US Federal Aviation Administration [caption id="attachment_54441" align="aligncenter" width="450"] SpaceX[/caption] On its first launch, the rocket rose high and flew for more than three minutes, but lost several engines, caused serious damage to the launch pad, and entered a dive, after which it was remotely destroyed. After the launch, a crater appeared in the ground, concrete pieces scattered across the area, and the environment was damaged, Some species of wildlife are in danger of extinction. The launch also caused a fire of approximately 16,000 m2 within the state park.
