(Psalm 119:37, NKJV) When to Turn Away In order to live the life of victory Yah has promised, you have to be very selective about what you give your time and attention to. You have to recognize which thoughts to ignore, which comments to ignore, and sometimes, which people to ignore. Every “battle” that comes across your path is not a battle that you’re supposed to fight. Many battles are simply distractions to try to lure you off course. If that battle is not between you and your Yah-given destiny, it’s a battle you should ignore. Many people get thrown off course because they are always trying to straighten everyone else out or win their approval. But if that’s your focus, you are wasting valuable time and energy that you should be using to pursue your dreams. Turn away from that distraction! You don’t need the approval of everyone around you; you only need Yah’s approval! Friend, it’s very freeing when you realize you don’t have to fight every battle. You don’t have to straighten people out. You don’t have to pay somebody back. Instead, focus on what matters, focus on Yah and His Word so you can live in peace and happiness every day of your life! HOLYWUDD.com Dr. RocknRod Quit being a complaining man/woman. “But godliness with contentment is great gain” 1 Timothy 6:6, KJV. Complaining about the pay on your job. Complaining about how you aren’t recognized. Complaining the house is too small. Seeing someone else get a new car, makes you complain about the car you have. Secretly complaining within that your wife/husband isn’t attractive with that additional weight. You don’t have anything good to say about anything. Everything is falling short of your expectations, even God. Go to the hospital and see the sick fighting for their lives. Go to the wife that just lost her husband to cancer. Go to the father that lost his son to violence. Go to the 25 year-old in jail for life. Look under the bridge and see where the homeless sleep. Talk to the countless of men/women that don’t have job, yet you do. Quit being a complaining man/woman. Be a grateful man/woman. You are where you are and you have what you have. Be thankful for what God has done, and be confident that He will provide what you need. A loving and all-wise God will bless you when He blesses you. Let your contentment stand on the truth that God always rewards godliness. Serving Him and having a grateful heart is being godly. Considering those and being a blessing to those that have less than you is being godly. Praying for those that have suffered loss in the storm is being godly. If He didn’t do anything else, be thankful and godly. This will bring great gain in your life. Prayer: Father, thank You for Your truth. Forgive me Lord for complaining. Teach me Lord to always count my blessings and be thankful! Help me to walk in godliness with contentment which is great gain. Failing, or the fear of failing, is often the source of our self-doubt. When I fail in my pursuits and goals, it is so easy to doubt myself and my abilities. When I fail to be obedient to God, it is hard not to doubt that I am loved. But God initiates a relationship with us fully aware of our flaws. He asks us to follow him even knowing we will fail Him. One day my brother asked me, “Do you think God can really forgive us after all the mistakes we’ve made? I don’t get why He would continue to love us.” My brother has two daughters, my nieces. I asked him, “Mark, if your daughters grew up and went into the world and made a mess of their lives, disobeyed what you taught them, and did things that broke your heart and hurt you—would you ever stop loving them? Would you ever stop being their father?” He told me “Of course not! No matter what they did, I would love them. They’re my children!” This is the story of the prodigal son! They always grow toward the sun, even if it means they have to contort and bend themselves. They thrive in warm and moist climates. They may appear to be weak and fragile, but its' looks are deceiving. They are able to bend in huge storms, yet amazingly they do not break. As the righteous, you are as the palm tree. Swaying and bending in the midst of the storm, yet God is in you and He won't allow you to break. It frustrates the devil that you seem to keep standing. Even after more adversity, the more glory is revealed on your life. You thrive in God's perfect will. You thrive in the water of His Word, planted by it, growing as high as you can and reaching as high as you can. You are drawn to the Son, Who is the light of the world, and you are reaping from your Source, gaining strength and endurance from Him, receiving joy from Him, abounding in grace from Him. June 9.2020 HOLYWUDD.com Dr. RocknRod Thoday’s Scripture “The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure” Daily Truth When King Nebuchadnezzar experienced a troubling dream, Daniel assured him that there is a God in heaven Who reveals secrets, and He was pulling back the curtain to reveal events in the last days (Daniel 2:28). Daniel used the words “splendor,” “excellent,” and “awesome” to describe the image in the dream – a statue with a head of gold, arms and a chest of silver, loins, and thighs of bronze, legs of iron, and toes of iron and clay. Nebuchadnezzar’s dream speaks to us today. The head of gold represented the Babylonian king whose global empire held power for almost 50 years. Afterward, an inferior kingdom seized power. The Persians and Medes, represented by the two arms and chest of silver, ruled for almost 200 years. Silver is a harder metal than gold, and each kingdom became harsher and more vicious than the one before. The bronze midsection represents the Greek Empire that began under Alexander the Great and endured for over 250 years. We transition to the two legs of iron that signify the Roman Empire that came to power 63 years before Jesus was born and ruled for over 300 years after His death. Finally, Daniel predicts an unstable kingdom represented by toes made of iron and clay. This kingdom displays a strange mix of strength and weakness, interconnection, and division.
