The Crucial Role of Clear Responsibilities in Project Triumph
Let’s delve into scenarios we’ve all encountered – missed deadlines due to overlapping efforts, communication breakdowns leading to confusion, and the frustrating sense of treading water without making progress. In the absence of clear roles, projects can transform into chaotic endeavors, where efficiency dwindles, frustration mounts, and the end goal seems like a distant shore. In this blog…

Pet peeve that will be eternal for me I suppose but I'm already equally tired of the "Vax isn't dead" and "Vax was killed again!" phrasings because Vax was already dead and this did not change that at all.
Tal'dorei Reborn lets us know explicitly who the Champion of Ravens is. "The Champion of Ravens is not Vax'ildan although Vax resides within him." The part of Vax in the Champion was clearly super active this last episode. (In the best way! I was not immune to cheering.) But the point of being orbed and everything around that was more about the sliver of divinity that is the Champion than about Vax as a living (or dead) person.
If the orb that contains the Vax Champion is freed he will likely just go back to his divine role and duties. That is what fits with what we have been explicitly told about this so far.

im thinking about bor'dor, towards the end of that brief and bloody battle, going "just do it", "take me out of my misery" "just turn into a giant spider while you do so?" and its like. its like tragically funny but also so. so fucking sad.
because its essentially about bor'dor exhausted and injured and knowing he wont live, going "do it", wishing for a quick end, surrounded by people who liked him and will now kill him because he betrayed them (they betrayed HIM- before he could know how much he'd like them). its about the resigned exhaustion of- what else do i have to lose?
Except I think about the devastated way Bor'dor talked about the loss of his mother, of his friends in the Ruby Vanguard, and the grief and the fear and the anger, and I don't think it's the first time he's thought that. Bor'dor joining the Ruby Vanguard at all, fighting a vendetta against the gods, is not someone who thinks they have lots of options. You don't generally agree to plans that could devastate the existing world unless you feel like you have more to lose than gain. Bor'dor, his magic a curse, his loved ones lost, the world cold and cruel and painful, being spun a tale of a world without gods, of a fight and a battle and a purpose, even if there are casualties, losses along the way.
Bor'dor, full of grief and rage, having lived a hard fucking life, being promised a solution, a world without gods, maybe thinking: what do i have to lose? they've never done anything for me. Then, he's watching a plan go awry, watching friends and comrades he'd made and bonded with fall to a bunch of- nobodies, cutting through them like it's nothing, remembering he does have things to lose. Bor'dor, knowing that the plan went wrong and his friends bodies are lifeless somewhere far away from where he is, lying furiously and ridiculously about being a shepherd and unknown magic to the suspicious faces of a bunch of killers. Probably thinking. what do I have to lose?
Except he eats with these people, he trades watches with them, he fights with them, he heals them, he shares a pipe and they share hopes and fears and pasts, and-
and he's standing as they all recoil from acid, everything falling apart, and. maybe he did have something to lose, after all.

where are all the 200k word post-day of unity fics where alador is going through a nasty and increasingly messy divorce and trying to help rebuild the boiling isles and also fixing his relationship with his kids but he's also struggling with having his own autonomy again and his own guilt over not being an actual father to his kids and he doesnt know who is outside of his responsibilities of work/family bcus he never had actual friends once he left school and once upon a time alador was the one to show darius there's more to life than what you can do for other people and now darius has the opportunity to help alador relearn the same thing and maybe together they can both rediscover what real love feels like again after years of bitterness

hey, i really appreciate the posts you've made shining a light on what actually happens within tumblr, i've always wondered. i hope your new job is going well!
very belated response as i clear out my inbox! thank you :)
i know a couple of automatticians are keeping an eye on my blog at this point so this is an update for the ones who haven't got other ways to talk to me more than for tumblr in general.
the new job's going well. as i've mentioned, i was at automattic for six years, and it was my first real experience of working outside the sex industry. coming into a workplace that is differently dysfunctional, where things are a mess not because higher-ups don't value their workers but because they've grown too fast to give people the consistency and structure they want to give, has been eye-opening.
so much of the stuff i thought was normal and probably better than everyone else in tech just... isn't. my work is valued, i receive good and useful feedback, and i'm doing things which actually measurably have an impact. all jobs are jobs, of course, and there are things the company will never be able to do perfectly, but it's a hell of a lot better. i'm excited about the work i do. i get to actually choose my hours, and my current contract is, well, actually legal, which automattic's was not.
if you're a happiness engineer like i was: you deserve better! better is out there! that supporthuman.cx site which posted the great writeup on matt seems to do a roundup of support roles regularly, though those will likely often be US-based.
and: if you work or worked for automattic, need to vent, and don't have other ways to get in touch: [email protected], hit me up.
one thing automattic did right was somehow pulling in this immense group of the most skilled, thoughtful, dedicated support staff, then fucking them all over. i believe in you. i think that your skills, even if you (like many APAC HEs and like myself) think they're too specific to translate to hireability in another company, will be valued elsewhere.

I love Aabriya (Top 3 of DnD personality period!), but gotta say genuinely bad timing for an ExU flash sideways. This didn’t set her up for success (she killed it because she is awesome but still. Sucked a lot of genuine momentum from the bells hells)
This is just one of those times where the story was picking up speed, but not only that the BH as a group were gaining narrative momentum. There was a roll of choices made by each of the members of the hells and they moved up to be the active participants in the world instead of moving through it like habitual NPC’s on a side task. To have that momentum and the loss of a party member all leading up to this episode and then this detour really kinda threw water on it all.
This is kind of the second time where when the story’s momentum was building up to give BH that bit of character growth; having them come together gather each other up and dust each other off. To help build each other up. And instead of giving them that opportunity or that focus, the story split them off which is a choice that IMO does not fit well as a “weekly” actual play show. I am sure it will watch better during a binge or on an animated tv show. But currently as a live actual play show, this kills the pacing for the BH group once again. Takes the emotional weight that came so organically leading up to this moment and diminishes it.
Because when the story comes back to them, it will be nearly a month in real time since FCG died and 3ish weeks since they took the time to sit down and have a conversation to explore the emotional weight of what had happened; something that they did today only after Matt tells them to take the moment to do so. Genuinely wild that such good RP only came about because Matt essentially forced them to sit down and talk. (I mean if it works it works. He should’ve put his thumb on the scales earlier too, so many moments of RP passed over in the rush to keep the “plot” progressing with the Ruidus ticking clock)
I think it’s just another one of those things that makes it seem that the Bells Hells as a group are not as important in the story that is being told in their campaign.
I would’ve been so much more psyched to have had this flash sideways take place at any other moment. As of right now, just having all the lore that was dropped, all the emotional capital and just narrative momentum that was so hard fought for have the air let out of them with this little break for live watchers.

Hate AI and all that but they're making me write a self-aggrandizing document that explains why I should get promoted, and I used chatgpt to write it out in under an hour lmao. Obvs I drafted up a bullet point list and edited the result for flow + less machine sounding voice but if u make me do dumb work and I'll use dumb tools.

I find it interesting and great how (as someone who has watched the campaign) there is quite a tug towards something past the dragons this season. There is so much contention with death in some of the episodes (especially 3 and 4 for obvious reasons), but also something I noticed in Umbrasyl’s FireFacetime™️ with Thordak (and subsequently the follow up with Ripley) was that there was an emphasis on ascension. Of becoming gods, or believing that you are already one. Though the dragons ARE the villains and antagonists, there are moments that continue to pull to greater themes. I thought it was interesting phrasing and it caught my attention as something that may have been intended as a bit of foreshadowing...

That Scene™  in Eric’s TBD RPG episode 13.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eric: You and River Song are standing in front of Tezekiel. He has his bodyguards filtering out of the room as well. The one he has stay in is a very large man who's carrying what looks like a shotgun. He's got this smug look on his face, like he knows he could kill everybody if he wanted to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eric: The moment the words come out of your mouth, and you point to the one on the left, River's face goes completely blank. She quickdraws her gun and puts a bullet in the bodyguard's head. He didn't even see it coming. The bodyguard drops as brains splatter all over the bulkhead behind him. Tezekiel jumps up. There’s a gun on the desk. It looks like he’s gonna go for it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eric: He slowly sits back into his chair.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eric: His eyes widen, for a second. He nods slowly, says, "Yeah, yeah, yeah." You see him pull out a data pad and paper, and he types it, and he writes it. Signs his name to it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chronotis: Now, River, you're going to remember this going very well. That Professor Chronotis was very kind. Everything has been worked out quite well, and you're quite impressed with my negotiating skills. And that I'm merely a simple Time Lord enjoying his retirement.
(I ended up making an extended version of this post on my second account HERE.)

I am obsessed with the Hall of Eyes, where Cerrit works. Vibes are of a spellcaster-free zone. The building should have a No Mages Beyond This Point sign 40 feet from the door. It feels like the Sightwardens contracted some wizards to build their psychometric chamber so they can do detective work, then immediately banned those wizards from the premises. The Sightwardens are SO valid for it.
I'm completely obsessed with this place having this vibe while being located in a mageocracy during the Age of Arcanum. It's the best.

Chae-Rin is the Pepe Silvia of LoNC@imaginarycyberpunk2023
The SHINS!!!! Okay, so Chae-Rin is another old character of mine that got ported into the world of Cyberpunk. Originally, Chae-Rin ran a illegals arms trade website on the dark web, where she ended up meeting Jago and pulling a 90 day fiancé kinda visa with no romance in mind, but wanted his help taking over the city. Things had gotten too rowdy in little Seoul (this original version of Chae-Rin & Jago are from Los Santos. Aka gta5) and she wanted to show them who really held all the power. Thus, Chae-Rin started Okkangpae, or the Jade Mafia as they were called by other gangs. The only thing that stands true with Gta5 Chae-Rin and Cyberpunk Chae-Rin, is the attitude and love of guns. Let me introduce you to THE TECHIE of Heywood.
So Legends of Night City, the Shins, Sang-Il (Appa) and Yong-mi (Umma) came to Night city from Busan, the city was suddenly erupting in violence from the extermination of a prominent family in the area backed by Arasaka, creating a power vacuum during the 4th corporate war. Kang Tao was responsible for all of this. See, Kang Tao didn’t like the fact that Arasaka was sitting pretty in busan with the help of the Jung crime family. So they had decided to frame Arasaka for turning against the family (as rumors had been that the Jung’s had married off one of their sons to a prominent Militech family can you guys who I’m talking about yet?)
Settling down in the Wellsprings, Sang-II and Yong-Mi had spent their whole life savings, uprooted their lives, to give their child a better chance at life. They opened a weapons shop called Shin’s Cache and carry, where life would resume as normal. Well… until Chae-Rin turns 27,and is now running the shop mostly by herself.
One morning, just after the shop opened. Chae-Rin was doing some restocking, listening to (tbd station name) which was playing the hit song Spring Day by Korean pop group BackTheScene [I’m a huge K-pop fan, I can’t help myself.] and she used this time to dance and sing, trying to drum up some excitement for another boring day.
Without her notice, a Tall, muscular man, leaned against the counter watching the display, he smiled slightly at the display, and when she noticed, her first instinct was to point out how the man had a crooked smile, or that his smile seemed unnatural to him. However, at second glance, her stomach dropped. This man was dangerous.. he had blood stained knuckles that she couldn’t discern if it was his blood, or someone else’s. That same stomach dropping feeling she experienced at her second glance of the his man, who has now greeted her in her native language, was replaced with excitement, curiosity.
The man’s smile fades as soon as the sour petite girl arrives at behind the counter. He began to ask her if her shop sells a certain gun he’s having trouble getting his hands on. The Malorian Arms 3516.
Kicking a case under the counter slightly, covering it up as if she was leaning against the counter, Chae-Rin informs this strange man, who she’s pretty sure is a street samurai at this point, she doesn’t (she does) have that model in stock, but she does weekly trips to the nomad market, she’d be willing to acquire one for him. The man then flicks his finger at the young woman, sliding over his contact info.
A new contact notification was added to her internal agent: Jago and a his holo icon is that of a Tiger with fire coming from its eyes. Knocking on the counter one time, the man then leaves the shop. Only to return each morning. Which clued in that he must live near by if he is willing to come by every morning.
After about a week, she finally decided to let him off the hook, she sold him the Malorian she hid. The man thanked her, and left. She'd held her breath out that she'd see him again.. but She never did. Until 2 months later.
He'd come in, Bigger, chromed, and dressed as if he was doing well for himself. Nothing like the shape he'd shown up at her shop the first time.
So, Jago wanted to know about this bar owner he had gotten a gig for. He had seen her going in and out of the place pretty regularly, so he figured she'd be the best person to ask. With a sinister smile came across the younger woman's face. She agree'd to give him such information, only if he agreed to go out on a date with her. The rest was history. These two were madly in love with each other.. Except.. Jago wasn't accepted by the Shins. They tried their best to prevent her from seeing that dangerous man, but nothing worked.
You might ask yourself, Chae-Rin is 27, why doesnt she move out? Well, thats because she wants to take over Shin Cache and Carry, if she upsets her father, than she might never get ownership, crushing her own dream to expand the brand with her own drones that she's been making since she was 8. During this time, you had to be in good with some Nomads to keep a good and interesting stock alive, and if Chae-Rin burned that bridge with her parents, the contact with the Desert Foxes ceases.
So I wish I was done with this girl, but im not.
So, Lets Fast Forward to 2065, Jago meets his tragic and untimely demise by the hands of Tetsuo Okada, one of Wakako's sons. Chae-Rin see's that Jago's biomonitor they have linked suddenly flatlines but the GPS signal is still pinging. This meant it didn't mean EMP disruption, Which prompted Chae-Rin to jump on her bike... only to find that Jago is in two pieces in a parking lot, and the only people around who might know what happened, are leaving. Collpasing, holding Jago's head and bringing his body close to her, sshhe craddled him and sobbed, screaming. Mara, who is a pillar of the Wellsprings community, is so recognizeable, that the second Chae-Rin sees her, she knows who she is. Mara, who was in a rush to meet with Wakako and anxious to discuss the events that took place just minutes before. Just slid her details over to the girl, and told her that she would explain everything the second she got home. (oops..... Mara got wasted that night and met Jihzzy).
So fast forward to a few weeks after Jago's passing. Mara is 3 sheets to the wind, tore up from the floor up (because this girl doesnt drink anything but coffee and beer) and lost in her feelings that she wasn't being seen as a woman, because undoubtedly due to her large stature. (Hard being a 6'2 muscle mommy, but reality is that this girl didnt know who she was until she became a merc and learned she's damn good at it too. she hit a glow up, i didnt even notice it til Jihzzy had pointed it out). She's laying on the couch feeling sorry for herself when she gets a ping with just cords from Chae-Rin. This is how Chae-Rin becomes a legend of Night city.
Wanting to get Jago's birth certificate that was at his apartment in the combat zone near city center, so that she could have his remains sent to South Korea with the rest of his family, she had gotten attacked by a group of Lazarus mooks patrolling the area and were itching for a fight. She's barely gotten out, and was about to pass out from blood loss, when Mara shows up and collects her in Blue Remedies repurposed Meatwagon.
Much like an animal you nurse back to health, Chae-Rin chose to stay with Mara, never asking, no. She just stayed there to heal up without worrying her parents, but ended up just never leaving. Becoming Mara's roommate.
Currently, she works as a freelance techie, does some work for Night Raid when requested, she had adjusted Mara's Sigframe. She is also being groomed by Kang Tao by the man the Shin's desprately want Chae-Rin to marry. Cheol Gong-Ji. Who is happened to be the son of the family who exterminated the Jung Family.
[Chae-Rin & the Shins(a shame too cause they would let him be with her if they knew) never learned about Jago's real idenity, nor does Gong-Ji (he has his own thing in the AU going on.... holy fuck) Chae-Rin also never learns of Jago's playboy ways. She never learns about his marriage to L. ]

I'm sooo. Not the be that person but I was sus of hetch after the second episode thinking abt how in the game on the merch site (which is advertised IN UNIVERSE BY SHOWFALL) he's labeled as "the Savior," the same way ranboo is "the hero," charlie "the villain," sneeg "the taken," etc. when those are their "roles" in the show. In hindsight, why would a third party that's messing with showfall's show be given a role if the genloss merch site is in some way canon. Hrgh
