People will demand celebrities talk about horrible things happening as if that's going to fix it. "Raising awareness" actually doesn't do shit unless there's a specific charity or action you are promoting. So no, unless they find a charity that they can support with a livestream or something, they are not going to make a video listing the atrocities happening rn

Spiritual kinning is where kinning as a concept came from and is also an important thing to remember!!!

Some people who kin aren't just saying "I relate to them"- they believe that because of the multiverse theory, any reality is theoretically possible; including one where they ARE their kins. In this context, kin memories are religious and spiritual visions or feelings that people have about their kins, and kin shifts become about which of these other lives they feel most attuned to at a time- they may feel more religious or spiritual influence from one kin than another at some times.

Nowadays kinning has spread out into Copinglink kin (identifying with a character for coping mechanism reasons), kinning for fun (people who just relate to the characters and attach themselves to them for fun, which is now the most popular form of kin after taking off on tiktok), and also people who combine kinning with reality shifting, which is another spiritual practice that some people see as maladaptive daydreaming, while others swear that it's a separate thing. Personally I find debating the "real" explanation of something that's sacred and holy to someone really insensitive even when it's a neiche practice like shifting, so I avoid those discussions.

I don't kin, but I'm in servers with multiple kin and before we discovered we had DID we used to believe we were kin, too. I also have watched multiple video essays on the topic and am sorta active in kin communities because they have a lot of relatable content for me.

Kinning isn't limited to fictional characters and can include animals, concepts, fantasy creatures, "things" and places like planets or forests, and even real people. I know fact kinning is seen as problematic but I feel like a large part of that is BECAUSE of the idea you choose your kin. Many do, but for those in the religious sects their kins are NOT a choice, they just happen TO them, and some Copinglink also attach themselves to kin at random as well, although others DO choose to a degree.

Most people who use terms like kin memories and kin shifts are in THOSE kinds of kinning, Copinglink and Spiritual/religious, and so are using those meanings.

It's also clarify to have kins of multiple types. You might genuinely believe you were a wolf in a past life, but also attach your identity to sans Undertale as a coping mechanism, and to the concept of an arcade because it's fun and feels fulfilling to you.

So if someone is talking about a kin memory, it's probably either a religious thing or something they did during a reality shift, although it never hurts to ask and I could definitely see people making their own kin memories to cope, although to me that makes it feel less like a "memory" than a headcanon but hey! It's none of my business what you label it :3 do whatever u want forever!!!

sort of thing. I’m a c!tommy, c!Fundy, and c!ranboo in that way, but people have kin memories? I always related that to DID or some sort of dissociative disorder? Of course I am not disrespecting/ claiming you are lying to all my lovely kinnies, am just a bit confused :and//

okay okay okay, going back to my split yolks au (temp name for this awful idea also please read that for context before continuing

ive been thinkin bout how split!charlie would... work

like... do I give him another name? cuz he is very different

making sy!slime a zombie hybrid just because i can while we're at it

im leaning towards the name semil? just.... rearranging the letters slime bc yeah

okay, past that stupidness, also i realized how his aging would work bc the federation would probably be figuring out a way to reage him up without waiting another 20+ years to get charlie slimccl back

so, after two weeks or so, they take charlie and test their first age-up thingie. and it works! kinda

now toddler charlie is kid charlie, bout the same traits as the eggs and no long baby

he can actually speak english, mildly knows spanish, relies on communicator for portuguese and french

the islanders ig tell him that theyve been taking care of him, he vaguely remembers, calls everyone aunts & uncles like the eggs (except he maybe calls mike big bro :))

and here's where my idea splits. either

a. they attempt to turn charlie back into his original state... which means also attempting to give him back the childhood trauma he had

or

b. turning him into a federation sleeper agent/full on federation brain wash

the former haas much more angst, since im gonna incorporate a pinch of scu 100 days and maybe a touch of godcicle if i feel up to it? also gonna add a dash of even more childhood trauma :)

everyone knows about how much keefe is in love with sophie except sophie

keefe thinks he’s succeeding at hiding his emotions, but really, Sophie just has no clue what’s going on at any given moment.

so, there’s, y’know, a betting pool.  Ro runs it.

Keefe doesn’t know about it. Sophie DEFINITELY doesn’t know about it.

everyone else is in on it. 

From Lord Cassius to Emery. 

Here are the characters and their bets:

Fitz Vacker: It’ll happen in three years, he’s bet 13 lusters.

Biana Vacker: It’s happening within the next two months, and she’s bet twenty lusters.

Dex Dizznee: His date is fast approaching, it’s set for next week already. He’s going to have to give his money to Ro pretty quick. He’s not happy about this. He bet a whole thirty-seven lusters.

Tam Song: He bet three lusters on a very specific date next November. No one but Linh knows why. 

Linh Song: She bet fifteen lusters on a weekend three months from now. She knows she’s probably not going to win, but she has high hopes, and thinks that this betting pool is very fun, and anyone who is taking it too seriously needs to calm down.

Ro: Ro has bet one hundred and fifty-eight lusters on July Fourteenth, 2023. She is COMPLETELY in this for the long game. She’s gonna make it happen. She’ll fight God and Keefe himself. Linh has told her several times to calm down. She will not. 

Marella Redek: Fifty Lusters on next month. She’s terrified of losing. Pyrokinetics hasn’t been accepted yet, she needs to make all her money back!!!

Stina Heks: Seven lusters on next wednesday, but she doesn’t really care at all. She just wanted to be a part of it.

Maruca Chebota: Four lusters. She offered some time next year. Everyone glared at her for being so vaguely specific.

Lord Cassius: Seventy Lusters on next weekend. He’s going to lose. Lord Cassius never wins bets.

Grady Ruewen: Twenty Lusters on July Thirteenth, 2022. He will not elaborate. Ro thinks he’s doing it to spite her.

Edaline Ruewen: Seventeen Lusters on two months from now. She’s been watching Sophie more than anyone else has. She’s noticed some things. Edaline knows all. Edaline is probably going to win.

Bronte: He bet three hundred lusters on April Fifteenth, this next year. He did it solely to get Emery off his back for asking for bets.

Fintan: Seven hundred lusters, none of which are legally his, on April fourteenth. No comments.

Emery: Four hundred lusters on July Twelfth 2022. He and Grady are watching like hawks.

Alina: Four lusters on November Second, 2096. She has no faith in them but Emery would not shut up about it. 

Let’s hope Sophie and Keefe never find out about it. That’ll make a bunch of people lose.
