Fbsjfnksnf you have no idea the anxiety I have plowed through to get this out there it has been REALLY HARD FOR SOME REASON. BUT. Here they be. Some kind of intro to a Rise Dragon AU that I’ll definitely need to name one day that is not today.

It won’t be a very big AU. Very Leo Centric if you can’t tell… what can I say I have a favorite and it shows. I just thought it would be something neat I could tamper with in between other things, like Undertale stuff and the Ghost Leo AU. All of which I will come back to. At some point.

ANYWHO yes this is all modern day New York, I liked messing with the plot more than coming up with a whole new fantasy world sue me. I’m thinking Draxum still tried to make an army, but was foiled way before he could really begin. Before that, tho, he was ALSO trying to revive the ancient yokai species of dragons, with two successful specimens so far… but all four were snatched when Splints escaped. One dragon, three eggs.

There’s a lot more to that but that’s the basic bitch summary for now. ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

I find it intriguing how many people don’t realize that Leon was actually a martyr long before the movie.

Fanfiction/fans will claim it’s some new character flaw that appeared because of everything going on in the OOC Leo’s life right then but it’s not. It’s normal.

Season one: Minotaur Maze

“WAIT!” “I’m the one who cheated. I created the portal to save my brothers. Punish me.”

“Yes! Punish him!”

Season two: Flushed, But Never Forgotten

“Sorry, dad! It was me who made everyone keep the secret from you!” “Flush me, and let my family go.”

(In fact, he does it so commonly that Donnie, who the whole fandom concurs is one half to his whole, actually subconsciously expects it from him when things get rough. If only as a strategic tactic.)

“He’s too fast. Leo, sacrifice yourself to buy us time.”

I don’t think anyone in his family is really confused or shocked that he does it in the movie. This is simply the first time that his sacrifice didn’t include a back-up plan or last-minute intervention. He was going to lock himself up in a dimensional prison.

If Mikey hadn’t tapped his portal power, this really would have been something that he’d never be able walk away from. And he was so willing to do so because this mindset was something they’d allowed to perpetuate for years.

I believe that, beyond anything else, would be what sticks with them most when all is said and done.

Seriously.

The movie wasn’t about his ‘unhealthy new mindset’.

The movie was about the weight of responsibility and what it took for Leo to carry it. What would have happened in a future where he doesn’t until it’s too late.

It’s about what lengths he will go to in order to protect his family.

And the lengths that they would go to in order to keep him.

I think everyone did their fair share of potentially deadly/dangerous sacrifices to save the people they love in that movie.

I am having a blast with this AU Oldest to Youngest: April Raph Donnie Leo Mikey Carol doesn’t want to trap the boys inside the house just because they look different, she wants and needs them to be treated the same way as she do with April and to let them know they are an O’neil through and through, not letting their growth be stunted just because they are mutants. Because oh boy she learned it the hard way last time. But they still don't go outside often since Carol still has that fear that the boys will get hurt by arrogant people, but as they grow up to teenagers, Carol allows them to go outside. But they need to text her every hour because her poor heart can’t take it.

this is short I was just bored 🤞

(I have hella more than just these)

Raph

- he has one of those stuffed animal net things above his bed because he doesn’t have room for all of them ON his bed

- ^ apologizes and feels bad if he knocks one off accidentally + makes his brothers apologize if they so much as move one to make room or if they knock one off (Leo throws them across the room)

- Implemented a swear jar; to no surprise, Donnie has paid the most

- has a scar on his bottom lip from his snaggle tooth and accidentally biting himself

- sobbed while watching the Barbie movie because he realized they don’t rlly have a mom 😭 (he still smothered Splinter after)

- there are just random holes and dents in the walls in the lair (especially his room) from his spikes

Leo

- said it once, and I’ll say it over and over again. He is a Taylor Swift stan, and ONLY refers to her as ‘TayTay,’ ‘T Swizzle,’ or ‘T Sweezy’

- ^favorite album is 1989

- Blasts ‘tolerate it’ when he’s “mad” at Donnie or Raph (or when they hurt his feelings)

- messiest room out of his brother, EXCEPT he keeps his shelves with his figures, comics, and stuff super neat

- ^walls are almost fully covered in posters

- makes A LOT of audible turtle noises like hissing, churring, etc.

- his knuckles and joints crack so fucking loud (he does it just to annoy Raph bc he hates the sound)

- ASTONISHING intuition. he’s one of those people who just KNOW when you’re hiding something or just like when bad things are about to happen.

- HATES carbonation

- Doesn’t usually show it, but it genuinely hurts his feelings when his family doesn’t listen to him about his science and inventions and interests

- He had a thin eyebrow phase only for like 3 days and it was NOT good 😭 he got absolutely flamed for it

- Velvet, felt fabric, and being sticky are big sensory no-no’s

- calls inanimate objects that he bumps into (and Leo) a whore

- I don’t think he likes coffee so much but if he does drink it it’s black

- his mask covers them but he has hella eyebags and dark circles

- prefers to watch a show/movie or youtube while he eats (iPad kid)

- Queen (the band) stan

Mikey

- graffiti artist. not in like an illegal way, but like on alleyways, on the walls of the sewer, rooftops, abandoned buildings, etc.

- Copies Leo and also blasts ‘tolerate it’ by Taylor Swift in his room at full volume when he’s mad at Donnie or Raph /if they hurts his feelings, but he screams the lyrics (specifically the bridge)

- there’s still a family portrait he drew when he was like 6 hanging on the fridge

- ADHD

- his nails are always painted; yes orange, but also tries like every color you could think of it

- ^ spent a lot of time perfecting nail art (like smiley faces, flowers, patterns, etc.)

- has THE fastest fucking metabolism you have ever seen. the teenage boy hunger is STRONG

- Melanie Martinez stan

- ^ his favorite album is Crybaby

- has his own little game where he tries to see how many stickers he can put on his brothers shells without being caught

- 20+ hours of screen time on YouTube every week

- rarely ever sleeps in his own room and rotates sleeping in Leo, Donnie, or Raph’s room

- Conan Gray stan

- dreams of having his own talk show like Wendy Williams 😭
