yo! so, recently, I've been into vocaloid songs that have stories and narratives behind them, I know lots of songs do but I mean, like, full fledged stories that really have a definitive ending to them, e.g kagerou daze and bad end night, and I was wondering if you know any? they don't have to be part of a song series either, singular songs that follow this theme work too :D

I don’t actually know much, only the more popular ones like kagerou project and stuff

BUT, I do know one that isn’t as well known and I absolutely love it,

Royal Scandal!

Technically it’s not a vocaloid series anymore(??) since from Cheshire game there has been no vocaloid versions, but the series did start with vocaloid

The series is created by KANON69 and Rahiwa with Luz as a singer. Luka is the one singing the vocaloid versions (and to be honest, I prefer her version for most of the songs than Luz’s)

It basically surrounds these 4 objects that have some sort of curse on them, with each object, you will gain something but also lose something (example, you gain wealth but lose love)

And it mainly centres around this bar and these two workers, Chelsea and Lewis (and other characters working at the bar or just some side characters like Albert for example)

The first song in the series is Cherry Hunt! It’s basically a prologue (since at the time, Luz was only covering a vocaloid song that was made 3 years prior and Rahwia helped make an MV for it, then they all branded together in 2014 to make Royal Scandal)

The song order is Cherry Hunt > Queen of Hearts > REVOLVER > Beast in the Beauty > Hikari > Bittersweet > Phantom Pain > Magic Ring Night > Cheshire Game > BULLET > Wonderland in Alice.

They also have a website (it has an English option) that explains more about the story premise and the characters

I hope you enjoy this series as much as I do! I really do love this one and I take any chance I get to recommend it. But nonetheless I hope you do it enjoy it!

So uh, ProSeka Royal Scandal AU?

I've had this idea for a year or two now? But never really did much with it. Mostly due to lacking motivation and time constraints, but I wanna write this down somewhere before I forget it. I thought, "Eh... I have a Tumblr account now, why not use it?"

So here it is, a detailed list of things about my Project Sekai Royal Scandal AU!

CW: heavily suggested TouKasa (this is specifically for the Touya Tenma hc havers)

The whole inception of this AU started with the thought, "Proseka RoySca collab when??" Then cut to 2 hours later, and suddenly I have an AU I just made. With some characters assigned, here are those roles.

1. "Chelsea" / Alicia - Tsukasa & Saki

Saki Tenma, known as "Stella" to patrons, Bar Masquerade's Golden Diva. Tsukasa Tenma, known as "Sirius", an accompanist who plays piano when Stella is on stage

It all started from the "Chelsea" MV, this one MV and my desire to make a TouKasa fic based off of it. It fits well, don't you think? Which then expanded more and more and now I have this...

Originally, Tsukasa was supposed to be the only Chelsea, because why would I need two characters to fill in one role? And this was fine until I had to think about who would be best as Rosetta. And thinking about it more, the gender difference is just, too big of difference to ignore entirely or try to work around. So I shifted the roles a bit and landed with Saki also being Chelsea.

This makes it so that Tsukasa covers more of the romance between Chelsea and Lewis (with mv's like "Bitter Sweet", "Chelsea", and the like). While Saki covers Chelsea's job as a diva and her relationship with Rosetta (REVOLVER and BULLET).

2. Lewis - Touya

Again, all of this started as a TouKasa AU, of course I had to! It's pretty self explanatory as well, Tsukasa-Touya childhood friends? So are Lewis and Chelsea, the MV for Chelsea is also gorgeous and just, pretty fitting for what I have in mind for TouKasa.

3. Rosetta - Ena

I remember it took me a while to actually decide who would be fit to be casted as Rosetta, mainly because most of the Proseka cast are too nice to attempt a murder against a former friend. I started with Shizuku because she's one of the only few childhood friend character that has a connection with Tsukasa, but immediately backtracked because (although I can kinda see it) I don't think that's something that Shizuku would do.

So I picked Ena instead. Her general attitude and personality is perfect for her to be casted as Rosetta, especially with the plotline of her getting jealous of Chelsea because of her popularity as the Red Diva (and also, shitty dad). And I had already thought of putting the next character as Sven first before putting someone as Rosetta, so that helped with the picking process as well.

4. Sven - Mafuyu

Yeah, this one is very self-explanatory. In BULLET, we get to see a sliver of Sven's childhood and its.... bad. He lived his life as a doll with no emotions or control for himself, being controlled by his parents with no regard of self-expression, sounds familiar?

5. Prince Albert - Rui

And this one is also very obvious. With Tsukasa filling in as Chelsea for more of the romance in RoySca, it only makes sense that I make Rui be Albert.

6. Other character's (Side charas and Antagonists)

Lightning Round! Just a few thoughts that are in consideration, but I quite like it so I'm putting it on the list.

a.) Olivia and Alam - Kohane and Akito

As you can see, I actually do have some characters I've casted for Olivia and Alam, but this is still put in consideration because... Was there a reason for me to cast Kohane and Akito as Olivia and Alam? No, nothing really valid honestly, I kinda just ran out of characters from the main cast to use (and the fact that I also really like AkiKoha). Besides, Akito being all love struck and Kohane pulling out a gun would be pathetic and cool (respectively), right?

b.) Aylmer

WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS BOY!!!! The only few things we do know of him are from a few cameos he had in some mvs (notably Bitter Sweet, where he looked really scared when Rosetta pulled out a glass bottle to attack Albert with) and his character info on the RoySca website.

Despite that though, I am thinking about putting Honami as Aylmer, based off of what we have

c.) Lilian, Kevin, and Rebecca (and Bar Masquerade overall)

I had landed with Ken-san as Kevin and an older than the main cast An as Lilian, just to help fill the roster with more Project Seki characters. But that leaves Rebecca still empty, and honestly, I don't know.

d.) Matt, Harvey, and Catherine

I'm kinda playing around with the thought that maybe the Virtual Singers can be the antagonists. The ones I have in mind are Miku as Catherine, KAITO as Matt, and Len as Harvey. I don't know about who the rest could be though...

Review:

Back again and filled with more assassination attempts, political family drama, and a mystery to unravel for an american girl turner monarchy nightmare. Picking up where the last book left off Evan Bright has finally reunited with her mother and father and found out who tried to have her sexually assaulted, filmed, and destroyed... and tried to frame her for murder, her cousin Ben. Evan is still adjusting to being the illegitimate daughter of King Alexander, and the fact that her distant father is now dating her mom again and her mom is out of the psych ward and tentatively back in her life. Evan is also dealing with being in the spotlight and of course navigating a new relationship with her Earl boyfriend, Kit. Evan is meant to be spending Christmas with Kit and her cousin and her family, a cozy getaway from everything... except cousin Ben and his mother shows up... and things start going wrong as more news leaks about Evan tothe media, painting her as a villain and more attempts at her life begin to escalate but she can't prove it's Ben when she knows its him. With her loving boyfriend Kit beside her, Evan will have to find a way to survive all these attempts on her life while also dealing with the large amount of political family drama that comes with being part of the monarchy. This was a fun second book in the series that absolutely picked up the action and the tension, I felt so bad for Evan that after everything in the first book she had to go through even worse trials and endure so much more. I hope she finally gets her happy ending in the final book and can't wait to see what she plans to do to get revenge. This series has been such a fun read and I found myself completely engrossed until the very last chapter. I am so so excited for the next book!

*Spoiler: During christmas vacation, ben arrives, Evan is shot at (she does get shot but she survives) and Kit is injured trying to protect her, then she is attacked by a mob while out with Maisie, then she begins hearing voices in her room (this is due to Ben placing listening and speaking devices to make her think she's inherited the schizophrenic disorder her mother has). Next she is sent to a museum with her father and there a bomb goes off, killing Evan's personal bodyguard and critically injuring her father (he is in critical condition in the hospital by the end of the book). THe more news drops about Evan the more the people hate her but no one seems to believe her besides Kit that it's Ben who is after her. But when Maisie's room is set on fire and she nows Evan didn't do it, they find out it was Rosie, one of Maisie's best friends who Ben was blackmailing, that was helping him and nearly killed Evan and her mom. We also find out that Kit was dragged into a secret society on the promise of finding out what happened to his brother only to realize that the group was anti-monarchist who were working with Ben to kill Evan. The book ends with Evan and Kit planning to take an opening to finally get back at ben but have to go away, as they tell Maisie that she has to give the seat on parliament to Ben and to pretend to hate Evan while they get a plan together. Ben wanted to kill Evan because if her mother actually married her father then it would make her a more legitimate heir to the throne and place her before him on the throne.*

Another great book, wonderful writing and full of the twists and turns every good mystery needs!

Back with Evan in the Royal Palace, and everything seems to be fine... until it's not. More bad press and scandal but still with the heart that I love about these books.

I simply love this series, and honestly, I find it hard not to! It's exactly the kind of fun and enjoyable read I need to get me through a rainy weekend!
