thanks for the request, love💜
Just a Bet
Ruhn x Reader angst to fluff
Tumblr media
Smoothing your hair, you stepped out of your car in the driveway as you strode towards Ruhn’s house. You were already regretting the heels you’d donned for your anniversary, feet aching in opposition to the excitement you felt to celebrate one year since Ruhn had asked you out.
Cheeks burning from smiling so hard, you turned the door handle and entered the busy frat house. It wasn’t unusual for many guests to be over, so you paid them no mind as you shouldered your way through the crowd toward the game room where Ruhn usually spent evenings like this.
Juniper caught your eye from across the room, and you waved to her and Fury as you approached the doorway where Ruhn’s voice echoed in a comforting rumble - until you heard Flynn’s voice.
“One year ago, I bet you that you wouldn’t ask her out,” he laughed, the sound of clinking beer bottles and jeers following.
Your heart leapt in your throat when you heard Ruhn’s voice, time standing still as you awaited his response. Your boyfriend scoffed, “I didn’t think I could either.”
Dec chimed in at that point - your kindest friend in the group - his tone teasing as he drawled, “I still can’t believe she took you seriously.”
Your pulse pounded in your ears, eyes pricking with tears as the conversation came together in your head. You were nothing more than a bet to Flynn, a joke that Declan couldn’t take serious, and apparently Ruhn felt the same.
Ripping the painful heels off your feet, you sprinted down the stairs and out of the house. Tossing the shoes in your passenger seat, you wiped the tears from your eyes and started the engine before heading back to your apartment.
The dress felt ridiculous, hair a mess and makeup ruined from crying as you stumbled into your home. Why would Ruhn have stayed with you for this long from a stupid bet? Were you nothing more than a joke, for him and his friends’ amusement?
The thought made tears well up once more, this time pouring over your cheeks as you sobbed. Practically ripping the dress from your body, you ignored the buzzing of your phone in favor of your welcoming shower.
Stepping under the steaming hot water, you scrubbed the memory of tonight as best you could from your skin before stepping out. Wrapping a fluffy towel around your body, you sighed with a hint of relief.
Realizing how dried out you were from your tears, you padded towards the kitchen for some water when you were stopped in your tracks. Bryce lay on your couch, lazily flipping through the tv channels as amber eyes flicked to yours.
With a dramatic sigh, she set down the remote, turning fully to face you. She took in your disheveled state, expression softening at the redness in your eyes, your puffy cheeks.
Shutting off the TV, Bryce sat up and patted the open space on the sofa next to her.
“I need water,” you whispered through a sniffle, voice raspy from dehydration.
“I’ll get it for you. Sit,” Bryce directed, her voice gentle as she sprung gracefully from the couch and headed toward the kitchen.
You settled into the cushions, picking a pillow from behind you to hold against your chest. Nodding a silent thanks, you took the water from Bryce and drank it down, the cold liquid cooling your heated cheeks.
“Fury texted me. She and Juniper saw you running out of Ruhn’s house before he came downstairs asking if they’d seen you. He’s been blowing up everyone’s phones, worried about you.”
A bitter laugh escaped your lips, but you found yourself unable to make eye contact with your friend as you muttered, “Yeah, I’m sure he’s heartbroken.”
Before you could react, the pillow was ripped from your arms, Bryce’s manicured nails practically digging holes into its fabric as her eyes simmered with barely contained rage.
“You may be my friend, but Ruhn is my brother. Explain to me why you think his heartbreak is amusing to you.” Your lower lip wobbled at her harsh words, the dam of your emotions about to break again.
Bryce loosed a breath, gently setting the pillow between you on the sofa as she spoke again, her voice softer this time. “I don’t know what happened, but he’s hurting too. Talk to me.”
The patterns on the pillow suddenly became much more interesting, your fingers tracing the stitching in the fabric while you found the courage to voice what you had heard at the house. “I was going to meet Ruhn for our anniversary dinner... but I heard them talking. I heard Flynn say that I was a bet. Even Dec-“
Shifting to rest on your elbows, you hid your face in your hands as the memory flashed too vividly through your mind. “Dec said he couldn’t believe I thought Ruhn was serious when he asked me out.”
You looked up to see Bryce’s own eyes lined with tears, her jaw set in anger as she processed everything you said.
“I’m a joke to them, Bryce. I was just a bet that he’s decided to string along for whatever reason. Maybe he does like me now, but...”
You couldn’t find the words, tongue twisted in knots like your stomach as thoughts eddied deeper and darker as you reflected on the past year of your life.
Bryce’s hand gently reached for your own, holding them softly as she spoke. “I am going to speak with Ruhn and figure out what is going on. If he was such a dumbass to do something like that to you, I’ll kick his ass. But I feel like there has to be something more to it. They’re good males - stupid alphaholes - but they’re good males.”
You nodded, a flicker of hope sparking in your chest at the thought. They had always been kind to you... Surely that couldn’t all be fake?
“Why don’t you get dressed? I’m going to see Ruhn and I’ll pick you up some food,” Bryce promised, pulling you in for a warm hug before turning and heading out the door, phone already in hand as she fired off messages.
You returned to your room, feeling numb from the pendulum of emotions you’d swung on all evening. You vaguely remembered slipping on a t shirt and shorts, returning to the couch to find the channel on Fangs and Bangs before you fell asleep.
You bolted upright at the sound of a soft knock at your door, rubbing the exhaustion from your eyes to look at your phone. Not much time had passed, but the bombardment of earlier messages from Ruhn and your friends filled the screen.
“Are you there? Bryce told me what happened, and it’s not what you think.” A tense beat of silence passed between you. “Please just hear me out. If you’d rather talk to Bryce, she’s downstairs... But I brought food.”
As if on cue, your stomach growled, drawing attention to the hunger gnawing in your gut. Stomping towards the door, you flung it open to grab the food from Ruhn’s hands when his appearance shocked you still.
His violet eyes were rimmed red and swollen like yours, his hair a mess. He was dressed in an all-black suit, the shirt unbuttoned and tie loose. You hated how it tugged on your heartstrings to see him this way, how there was a part of you that could never hate him, even if what Flynn had said was true.
“Fine,” you snapped, snatching the bag of food before returning to the couch without a second glance. “You have one shot to explain.”
Ruhn sighed, the sound slightly drowned out by the soft click of the door closing behind him. You spared him a glance as he took a seat on the couch, careful to keep his distance.
The chipped black paint of his nails blended into his onyx hair as he ran a hand through it, his muscular leg shaking anxiously before he turned to you. Wholly still, Ruhn’s voice emanated with earnest when he finally spoke.
“Bryce told me what you heard, back at my house. I understand how it would sound, but that’s not at all what happened, and I first and foremost need you to know that you are not a joke. You have never been a joke - to Flynn, to Dec, and especially not to me. I was the joke in that room. They were teasing me, because, yes, asking you out was a dare of sorts.”
You felt the rage build in your chest at that, setting down your food on the table as you prepared for what he would say next - or so you thought you were prepared.
“I remember the first time I saw you, when you came into the White Raven with Bryce. It felt like my world tilted on its axis,” he paused, shaky breath leaving his lips as his eyes went hazy, lost in the memory.
“You were the most beautiful person I’d ever seen, and when you smiled at me I forgot how to breathe. The entire room was staring at you, and you somehow didn’t notice.”
He loosed a breathy laugh, shaking his head as he fought back a smile. “Dec and Marc were teasing me. They saw how I reacted to you, how drawn to you I was. But you were so beautiful and charming, and could have had any male or female you wanted.”
Drawing your legs to your chest, you settled into the couch and fought back the tears in your eyes at his story.
“Flynn’s ‘bet’ was just that I wouldn’t have the guts to ask someone like you out. And I didn’t at first,” Ruhn laughed, toying with his lip ring before those violet eyes flicked up to meet yours.
“But then Flynn said that if I didn’t ask you out, he would. And that’s when I jumped up from our table so fast I knocked Dec’s beer on me, and made a fool of myself asking you out like that.”
Ruhn looked down at your hands, his own twitching as though barely holding back from reaching for you. So you reached for him. The cold silver of his rings was a familiar comfort, and you felt yourself relax as his fingers twined tightly with your own.
“Dec didn’t think you’d take me seriously because I was a dumbass, asking out the most incredible female I’ve ever met while covered in beer and stumbling through my words.” You laughed then, and Ruhn’s entire presence seemed to brighten in response.
I remember. I thought it was cute. You weren’t the snobby fae royalty I would have expected, and I found it very charming,” you teased, a smile spreading across your face as you then relived the memory of the striking yet goofy male first approaching you.
“I am so sorry that I didn’t tell you that. It’s not exactly something that I’m proud of, that I was so nervous to ask you out. Flynn never lets me live it down.”
“I’m sorry,” you murmured, feeling embarrassed at how you had jumped to conclusions so quickly. “I feel like I ruined our anniversary. I should have stayed and listened to you.”
Ruhn’s eyes glittered like stars, his hands finding your waist to lift you into his lap. Hooking your arms around his neck, you straddled your boyfriend’s hips. Ruhn exhaled sharply through his teeth, causing you to lean back in alarm.
“It’s just a bruise, curtesy of Bryce.” You blushed, biting back laughter over your friend’s protectiveness. “You did not ruin anything. Flynn, on the other hand, got it worse than me,” he chuckled, nodding to his wounded side.
“You have a lot of people in your life who would do anything for you, including Bryce and myself. All I want is to spend the rest of our night together so I can show you just how much I love you,” he murmured, eyed lidded with desire as you settled further into his lap.
“I think I could arrange that,” you purred, leaning down to kiss Ruhn’s full lips before trailing his jaw, down his neck, his exposed chest.
He picked you up, carrying you bridal style to the bedroom where you spent the night exchanging soft touches and sweet nothings until the sun rose the next morning.

I’ll Always Pick You Up
Ruhn x reader
A/n: I got you bestie! Ruhn fluff is served 💕 love you 😘
Warnings: mean friends, hurt/comfort, fluff at the end
Tumblr media
You had just quickly gone to the bathroom to touch up your make up and when you returned to the booth your friends were gone. They even left the check on the table for you. No texts, no nothing. They just left you. You wanted to be angry but all you felt was hurt.
You had this feeling your friends were going to do something like this to you. The girls had been pulling away from you for a while. You just didn’t want to admit that you were losing your friends. But to have them ditch at the bar? That was really shitty of them.
You guys hadn’t even been at the White Raven for an hour. Before reacting you took a deep breath and took out your phone. Ruhn would know what to do to help you calm down. You didn’t want to start crying in the middle of the Raven.
The phone rang twice before Ruhn picked up. “Hey princess! What’s up, I thought it was girls night?” He sounded so happy and you needed that right now. You could hear the boys’s video game in the background along with Flynn swearing as he lost to Ithan again.
“Ruhn,” you choked out. Your throat was getting tighter as you took more deep breathes and held your tears back. Ruhn shushed the boys and the game paused. “What’s wrong?” His voice full of worry now. “The girls just ditched me…and left the check.” You whispered.
You could practically hear Ruhn clench his jaw as he swore under his breath. “Don’t you dare pay it.” He said sternly. “Take it to the waitress or bartender and give them all your friends phone numbers. Tell them that they ran out on the check. I’ll be right there, just wait for me.” “Ok.” You whispered.
“I’ll see you in a minute. I love you.” “Love you too.” Ruhn hung up and you did exactly as he said. The bartender seemed pissed and sorry for you. She even offered you a free drink while you waited for Ruhn, which you graciously accepted.
Roughly ten minutes later Ruhn was rushing up to the bar, immediately placing a comforting hand on your back and kissing your temple. “Hey princess.” “Hey,” you turn to Ruhn, trying to give him small smile. Your lips fought you and quickly turned into a frown.
He pulled you off the bar stool into a bone crushing hug. “Let’s get out of here.” You nod against his chest and he starts to lead you out of the Raven.
When you were out on the street he let go of you to buckle your helmet for you. You’re happy he brought the bike. Going for rides helped calm you down since you could hold onto Ruhn and just close your eyes, feeling the wind rush past you. It felt a little like flying.
You got on the bike and Ruhn sped away from the White Raven as fast as he could go. He took the short way home. The long way was for fun rides, right now you needed to get home so Ruhn could hold you.
Pulling into the drive way he killed the engine and guided you off the bike. Ruhn didn’t let go of your hand until the two of you were in the house. The rest of the boys were sitting on the couch quietly watching tv. A plastic bag from the corner store sitting on the coffee table in front of them.
The four of them greeted you with Dec getting up and hugging you tight. “I’m sorry about tonight y/n/n.” “Thanks.” “They’re bitches for ditching you like that,” Flynn added. Ithan pointed at the bag, “That’s for you. We ran out and got you some snacks to make you feel better.”
“Aww thanks guys.” “Ruhn here’s your card back.” Flynn chucked his card at him from the couch. Ithan, Dec, and Tharion glared daggers at him. You weren’t supposed to know Ruhn had them go. That brought a genuine smile to your face.
Ruhn scooped up the bag muttering “ass” under his breath. He wrapped a tattooed arm around you and brought you up to his room.
He gave you his sweatpants and a tshirt to change into while he changed and turned on your favorite show. As you settled on the bed he pulled a pack of makeup wipes from the bag handing them to you. “You ran out of them here so I had them grab you another pack.”
You felt tears prick your eyes again as you looked down at them. “You’re amazing, Ruhn. I don’t deserve you.” “Hey, don’t say that. Of course you do. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, y/n. So don’t for one second think you don’t deserve my love.”
Ruhn grabbed the wipes from you pulling one out and started to remove your makeup. After he was done he ran one more over your face just to make sure he got it all. He placed a soft kiss on your lips and pulled you onto his lap.
“What should we eat first. The giant bag of chocolate, or the giant bag of sour candy?” He pulled both from the bag and weighed them in each hand while he waited for your decision. “Why not both?” He smiled, handing you the sour candy while he opened the chocolate. “I love the way you think.”
And that’s how you spent the night. Wrapped up in your boyfriends arms, eating junk food, and watching your favorite show. Your now ex-friends long forgotten. You’d send them one last text tomorrow and that would be it. With Ruhn’s help of course. You could get very mean if left to your own devices.
But now is not the time to worry. The male of your dreams had you laying on his chest and was playing with your hair. And laughing with you. You’d find new friends. And Ruhn would always be with you.

hi love! for the new bingo what about a fluffy drunken confession of love from Ruhn? 💜
Two Truths
Ruhn Danaan x Reader
a/n: based on this bingo card
“Mornin’ princess,” Ruhn slurred, wrapping an arm around your waist, his nose nuzzling your neck.
You laughed breathily. You weren’t unaccustomed to receiving affection from your best friend, but given his intoxicated state, you carefully pulled away.
“It’s nighttime, Ruhn. One in the morning.”
Ruhn looked genuinely confused. “Am I really that drunk?”
You nodded, unable to hide the grin forming on your lips. “You are that drunk.”
Ruhn ignored your reply, instead giving your form a shameless once-over. “You look very pretty tongiht.”
You rolled your eyes, but a blush bloomed on your face anyway. “Let’s get you to bed.”
Ruhn shot you a wicked grin. “Absolutely.”
You had a slight feeling that his idea of ‘bed’ was different than yours as you led him up the stairs to his room. He plopped on the bed, hard enough that the frame creaked.
Ruhn reached his arms out to you. “C’mere, princess.”
You laughed. “Not tonight, Ruhn. Get some sleep.”
The prince pouted. “That’s rude. The girl I love won’t even cuddle with me.”
Your heart fluttered. “Wh—huh?”
Ruhn huffed dramatically. “You heard me. I love you, yet you won’t even cuddle with me.”
“You’re very drunk, Ruhn,” you murmured. He must be shit-faced, to be saying things like this.
Ruhn hummed. “Two things can be true at once: I’m drunk, and I love you.”
Holy Hel.
“Are you going to leave me hanging? My arms are hurting,” Ruhn said, and only then did you realize that he was still holding his arms out to you.
You climbed into bed next to him, resting your head on his chest, absentmindedly tracing along the tattoos on his arm.
“Aren’t you gonna say it back?” Ruhn asked, sounding as though he was already on the verge of sleep.
“I will,” you replied quietly, smiling to yourself. “When you’re sober.”
Ruhn groaned. “Fine.”

Ruhn is truly a prince in his own right and deserves all the love. Let's celebrate our Crowned Prince the week of the 19th of May through the 25th!
Ruhn Danaan is a great character and deserves a week to celebrate him. He is Crescent City's bad boy prince, Bryce's big brother, and a son. He has done tremendous things such as getting the star sword, and saving Bryce from the Asteri.
The time between now and up until the date is supposed to give everyone enough time to think up ideas and begin to create for the event. Rules and Prompts will be posted shortly.

Hey! Perhaps either
“i don’t like you. i can barely tolerate you.” “then why do you keep coming back?”
“Shh, go to sleep.. I’ve got you.”
With ruhn or Flynn? I couldn’t decide 😂
~SleepyPond
hiii sleepy! I love how I completely suck at doing requests but once Taylor Swift released Midnights, my brain was like "okay, it's time. requests it is.", especially with Lavender Haze. Hence why I name this small fic 'lavender'. Plus it deals with sleep so it fits all together lol
.。*゚+.*.。 ruhn danaan x fem!reader
warning(s): insomnia, fluff, procrastination, and more romantic cutesy stuff. (also this is unedited, my brain is 😵‍💫)
Red and orange leaves sprinkled the ground outside of Y/N and Ruhn’s apartment. The setting sun reminded her of when she used to sit on top of her parent’s roof. A smile crept across her face as she remembered her mother hollering for her to get down before she did.
Y/N’s hands were warm from the cup in her hands and the lavender liquid that the cup held was the only thing soothing her nerves. She had an exam due in three days and had no idea how to do it. Statistics was her worst enemy. Well, anything math-related, she hated. Too much was involved with the damn subject. She would much rather sit beside a fire, reading.
Reading sounded great at that moment, but with all the worries that crowded her mind, she couldn’t keep track of the story. So, Y/N sat on the balcony and watched as the stars twinkled beside the crescent moon. She brought the cup to her lips and took a sip of the warm liquid. With a deep sigh, she sunk back into her seat and listened to all the city sounds. What drew her from her thoughts was the sound of footsteps. She sat up and looked back into the spacious living room and saw Ruhn. His midnight hair fell across his shoulder and he was shirtless.
He had spotted Y/N and made his way to her, joining her on the balcony. “Can’t sleep?” he asked.
“Yeah, too much on my mind, I guess.” Ruhn leaned against the railing and watched as she took another sip of her tea. He tilted his head and when she met the fae’s eyes, she sighed, “I’m worried about the fucking exam,” she grumbled.
He let out a soft chuckle and shook his head, “You’re going to do fine. You’re the smartest female I’ve ever met and you’ve been studying for this exam for weeks, love,” he reassured. Y/N took a deep breath and stood from the chair. She placed the cup down on the small table that accompanied the small chair, and stood in front of the male. His eyes were the ones she could get lost in for hours and she had so many times. She laid her palms on his bare chest and leaned up to his lips, pressing hers to his.
A soft sigh escaped her throat when she pulled away. Ruhn smiled and wrapped his arms around her middle, “You need to get some sleep, love,” he said, his voice rough but smooth at the same time.
“I wish I could, I’m drinking lavender tea but so far my brain is re—hey!” she squealed as the male tossed her over his shoulder, making his way to the living room where the small pup slept comfortably. His sleep was disturbed when Ruhn placed her down on the couch.
“You can’t just toss me over your shoulder like I’m a sack of potatoes, you know?”
That earned her a crooked grin as he grabbed a blanket from the armchair beside the sofa, “Yeah, well, we need sleep and I’m not sleeping without you so,” he countered. Y/N’s cheeks heated and her heart felt like it had skipped several beats. She knew she was in love and it scared her but this was the first healthy relationship she’s been in a while. He was healthy.
Ruhn sank into the space next to her and pulled her into him, his warm skin blanketing her in a way that made her want to melt into him. Her arms instinctively wrapped around his neck while her legs did the same around his waist. Y/N nuzzled her face into the crook of his neck and let out a small sigh of relief. The two of them sat in comfortable silence as he twirled her hair between his fingers. Her eyes began to slowly become heavy as his hand rubbed her back, soothing her mind into a quiet hum. Thoughts of failing her exam were quieted from the cool water cologne he put on every day.
“I’ve got you, love. You can sleep,” he said as he pressed his lips to her temple. When the words left his lips she felt another wave of fatigue wash over her. She wanted to say something but her body succumbed to slumber.

here with me
pairing: male x gn!reader (i tagged with a lot of different male characters i find comforting, but there’s no names used so you can imagine anyone you so please)
word count: 0.6k
warnings: reader is in pain (nothing descriptive), he comforts. just fluff
a/n: i wrote this as a result of my own migraines, but i kept all the symptoms vague because any chronic pain is a bitch, and you deserve to be treated softly by the person of your choice

The apartment usually wasn’t this quiet when he got home.
Or this dark.
He set his keys on the counter and left his boots by the door, then carefully stepped through the apartment. The kitchen and living room were both empty, and the office looked like it hadn’t been touched all day.
There was no light under the bedroom door. He set a cautious hand on the doorknob, but a quiet whimper had him opening the door without question.
You were laid out on the bed, on top of the covers, with an arm draped over your eyes. The ceiling fan and rotary fan on the ground were both spinning at top speed, and he could just see a dark bag poking out under your neck.
He quietly closed the door and returned to the kitchen, now a man on a mission. He grabbed a straw and a water bottle from the fridge, then took an ice pack from the freezer and wrapped it with a dish towel. He took the last item, a bottle of painkillers, from the cabinet and silently returned to the bedroom, the only sound of his presence being the faint click as the door closed one more time.
“Baby?”
“Yeah, it’s me.”
You let out another small whimper.
“How bad is it?”
“9.5.”
Unbearable, then, if you were using an actual pain scale.
He set his items on the nightstand and took a seat beside you on the bed.
“Meds?”
“At 3.”
Only a couple hours ago, too soon to take more. He put those beside the lamp.
He uncapped the water bottle and put the straw in, then he gently tucked a hand behind your head and lifted. “Drink.”
Your lips wrapped around the straw, and he didn’t pull the bottle away until you’d swallowed at least four times. But before you could lay back down, he replaced your old ice pack with a new one. You shivered a little, but the cold was a welcome reprieve.
“Stay or go?”
You could’ve cried. He’d stuck with you through this so many times he knew your comforts by heart. He read your moods instantly, and most of the time didn’t need promptings, but he always took the time to ask when it got bad like this. And he never shamed you for only being able to say a few words at a time.
“Stay.”
It nearly came out as a sob.
He shed his jacket and started unbuttoning his jeans. “Shirt or no shirt?”
“Soft.”
He took off his current shirt and replaced it with his sleep one, nothing decorating the black fabric, just ultra-soft cotton.
“Where do you want me?”
It differed every time. Sometimes you didn’t want him at all, the thought of another person with you sending jolts of pain through your body. Other times you wanted him to stay, but on the other side of the bed. Or you wanted him close, but barely touching.
“Top.”
Or sometimes you needed him to put all of his body weight on top of you like a human weighted blanket.
“Covers?”
“No.”
He positioned himself, knees on either sides of your thighs, then he slowly lowered himself until his hands on either side of your face were the only thing keeping him up.
“Okay?”
“Okay.”
He finished lowering himself and settled his full weight against you.
You sighed in relief.
“Better?”
You nodded and tucked yourself into the crook of his neck. “Better.”
“Three taps if I’m suffocating you.”
For the first time that day, you took a deep breath and relaxed.

There’s not enough Ruhnlidia content out there IMO, so I wrote this married Ruhnlidia pregnancy snippet. This takes place several years after the end of HOFAS. I am too lazy to save this for @ruhndanaanweek2024 so here it is!
Lidia vacuumed the floor, observing as her husband worked overtime, preparing everything in the kitchen for Ace and Brann to come home from college.
It was their first time visiting from CCU, and Lidia couldn’t wait to see them again. Although this was a shorter and voluntary separation due to their need to study, Lidia couldn’t help but recall the years she had been forced to be the Hind, not knowing the fate of her sons.
She had admittedly bawled the first several nights after they had left. Ruhn had not questioned it, merely pulling her into his arms and holding her tightly. Her husband, her mate, who had got her through this separation, who had taken on two teenage boys simply because they were hers, and loved them as his own.
Even Ace had warmed up to him, before he’d warmed up to herself. Ruhn had some kind of secret bro handshake with each of her sons, and Ruhn always made sure to give each boy special attention when they visited; he’d play sunball with Brann while he’d help Ace test out his helmets and wings and whatever things he decided to build.
Lidia had quickly learned sunball so that she could compete with Ruhn and play with her sons. She had to admit that it was fun to have a normal life, and she loved her boys and her mate and drinking beers and just chatting with him at night, or cuddling by the fire, or the four of them going out and having dinner together.
Lidia smiled as Ruhn lowered a frozen rat for their snake to eat. When Ace had brought home the snake initially, Ruhn had gone pale and insisted Ace put it back where it was. Lidia, who had just repaired her relationship with him and was not willing to mess it up so fast, had taken the snake in her arms and ordered Ruhn to buy a tank.
He’d obeyed; he was never very good at refusing her. He’d returned with loads of snake food packages called “Snakky packies” as well as some frozen rats and a heated lamp which Lidia set up before feeding the snake. Ruhn had cringed the first time she’d fed him. Now, he did it regularly.
Lidia was exceptionally nervous because she had some special news this time. She’d put a small shield over herself so no one could detect anything amiss; she wanted to be able to reveal this information in her own way. She hadn’t had much time to process it, so she didn’t know how to feel about it. She didn’t know how Ruhn would feel about it either. Or Ace and Brann.
She did want another child; she loved her boys, but unfortunately, she missed out on most of their childhood. She had tried to do right by them as much as possible, but now her boys had all grown up, and she missed the sound of child’s laughter in the house. She just hadn’t expected it to happen so soon, and she was nervous about how her family would react.
God, she had a family now. She had been alone for so long that it was difficult to come to terms with. Her heart had never been more full.
There was a ring of the doorbell, and Lidia rushed over to open it and she barreled into her sons. “Ace! Brann!” she cried, and they hugged her back warmly. “Ma!” Ace grumbled. “You’re smothering us!”
“Oh, you’re big boys now, you can handle it,” Lidia retorted. Ruhn chuckled as he came into view too. “How’s college been, you two?” he asked. Brann grinned. “I made the sunball team! Ace is on the robotics team! It’s been awesome!”
“Sweet! Forward, right?”
“Yes. Our first game is next weekend. You have to come!”
“I’ll mark it on my calendar, bud,” Ruhn said. “What about you, Ace? Any events I should take note of?”
“Well, I have a robotics meet next month on the second and I am applying for a research position; there’s a symposium next Thursday.”
“Cool! I can help you narrow down your options and fix your resume before the big day,” Ruhn offered. “Sure, thanks,” Ace replied. Not much of a talker, but Lidia could tell he appreciated the offer. Smiling, Lidia lounged on the couch, flicking in the TV and flipping through the channels.
She finally found Knowledge is Money was on, and she watched the three competitors standing in a triangular formation, their hands hovering over buttons to buzz for an answer.
“Who is the first known queen of the Sprites?” the host asked.
Ace came to sit beside her. “Easy. Ranthia Drahl.”
Lidia chuckled. “Technically, no. The sprites traditionally were ruled by theocracy until Cynthia Drahl, armies led by her niece Ranthia, destroyed the corrupt religious leaders who took advantage of the poor. However, nobody remembers her because she was killed two days into her reign by none other than Ranthia herself.”
A redheaded pixie on the far right of the screen finally buzzed in. “My final answer is Cynthia Drahl.”
“That is correct,” the host answered. Lidia smirked at her son.
“Who is the sunball player with the most points of all time?” the host asked.
Lidia groaned. “Shit, I hate when they ask sports related questions.”
“The answer is obviously Viktor Kapournikov,” Brann boomed from the kitchen. A few moments later, the boy at the bottom of the screen buzzed and said, “My final answer is Viktor Kapournikov.”
“High five!” Ruhn said, and the smack of their hands rung in Lidia’s ears. A few moments later, they came to the sofa with food in their hands. Ruhn and Brann each carried two; Ruhn handed one to Lidia while Brann handed one to Ace.
“What event caused the Valbaran Fae and Avellan Fae to become rivals?”
“The Melanthos shooting of 2,000,” Ruhn and Ace said at the same time. “Damnit, you two are quick,” Lidia muttered. “Sadly, my father made sure this shit was drilled into my head since I was a boy so that I didn’t make the mistake of befriending a kid from Avellan,” Ruhn said.
“Freak,” Brann muttered. Ruhn and Lidia nodded in agreement.
And so they ate and shouted answers at the TV and generally had a merry time. When the entertainment died down and they were all pleasantly sleepy, Lidia cleared her throat and said, “I have big news for you all.”
Ruhn pulled Lidia into his lap sleepily, mumbling against her, “Yes, sweetheart?”
Lidia didn’t know how else to say it, so she just said, “I’m pregnant.”
“What?” Brann asked. “Ma is pregnant, Brann!” Ace yelled back. Ruhn just stared at Lidia with his beautiful blue eyes, awe in them. “Truly? But I don’t smell any-“
Lidia removed the glamour. As the scent of the embryo filled the air, the boys began to cheer while tears filled Ruhn’s eyes. Ahhh, her sweet, adorable, emotional Ruhn. After decades of being forced to hide her emotions behind a mask of cold, there was nothing she adored more than seeing her mate overcome with affection and emotion for her.
“We’re going to have another baby?” Ruhn asked. Throat tight as tears filled her own eyes, she nodded. Ruhn pulled her to him. and Lidia held him so tightly it was a wonder she didn’t break a bone.
“She’s a girl,” Lidia murmured against his cheek. “Our little flame. I think we shall name her after your fire sprite friend.”
“Lehebah?” Ruhn croaked. Lidia’s shirt was a little moist from his tears. “Yes,” she whispered. “Lehebah.”
“I love it,” Ruhn whispered. “I love you. And I already love our Lele too.”
Lidia beamed. She felt so much better about this pregnancy. This time, she wouldn’t be alone. She had a family and friends to help her through this.
A baby girl.
Lidia pulled away slightly to cup Ruhn’s cheek. “I love you too. Lele is going to be so lucky to grow up with a father like you.”
“And a mother like you.”
Lidia chuckled and laid back against Ruhn. Neither of them noticed that Ace and Brann had subtly left the room, giving them time alone.

As Lidia climbed out of her car and gazed up at the salon before her, she took a deep breath. Tonight was important, like life-changing important, and she needed to look her best. She just wished she would have thought of this plan before the day of, but there was nothing to do now but hope for the best.
As she entered the salon, she waved to the girl working the front desk and made her way to a familiar station towards the front. The seat was occupied by a gorgeous brunette, but she wasn’t concerned about the person sitting. She cared more about the man behind it.
When Ruhn’s violet eyes met hers, they were lit with surprise. “Hey.”
“Hey.” She gave the brunette in the chair a polite smile before turning back to Ruhn. “I need a favor.”
He continued running the heated barrel of a curling iron through the woman’s hair, but asked, “Okay?”
“So I’ve got this date tonight…” She began and his eyes snapped to hers. “I know I don’t have an appointment, but do you think you’ve got time to squeeze me into your books?”
The woman looked at Lidia like she was insane, and to be honest, she was. There was a month-long wait list to even sit in Ruhn Danaan’s chair for a consultation and the fact that she was turning up and asking for a walk in? Even if she was already one of his clients, she knew it was a few weeks out for a trim.
He frowned, almost completely ignoring the woman in his chair as he turned to face Lidia. He searched her eyes for a minute, and she wondered what it was he was thinking. At last, he said, “A date?”
She nodded, nibbling on her bottom lip. “If not, it’s fine, but I thought I’d—”
“Give me ten minutes. I’ll work you into my lunch break,” he said, and turned back toward his client. “If you wanted to get me a coffee in that ten minutes, I wouldn’t hate it.”
He shot her a subtle grin as she fought the urge to jump on him. He got back to work, and she ran across the street to a little cafe to get him a coffee. She knew he liked it black most of the time — an obvious guess based on the rest of his appearance and demeanor — but knew he occasionally wanted something more than just the bitter drink. She grabbed a handful of sugar and creamer just to be safe. The thought had her chuckling to herself as she made her way back across the street to the salon.
Ruhn was wrapping up with his client so Lidia took a seat to wait. He was handsome in a completely non-traditional way. His hair was long, except for the part that was shaved, and he had more piercings than she could count. She knew many more laid beneath his clothes and couldn’t help as her eyes trailed along the tattoos that disappeared beneath his black t-shirt. He was dressed more casually than anyone else in the upscale salon. In fact, he looked like he didn’t fit in much, in his jeans and old black boots, but he surely brought in more clients than anyone else. One of the magazines did a spread on him a few years back and his career had skyrocketed, thanks to the unique cuts and colors he was now known for. Lidia had asked him about it once, about how he had gotten into his field, and he just shrugged and said that his mother was a hair stylist and his father, who was a dick, hated the idea of him getting into any sort of cosmetology once he had expressed interest in it in high school.
So that’s exactly what he did, just to smite his old man.
And he ended up loving it.
She hadn’t even noticed the woman leaving until the coffee was plucked from her hands and she looked up at him with a start.
He was smirking and inclined his head towards his now unoccupied station. “Ready?”
Jumping to her feet, Lidia smiled at him. “You really are the best.”
He led the way to the station and finished sweeping up the last of the hair from his last client. “If this date is really as important as you’re making it out to be, you’ve got to be looking your best.”
After sitting her down, Ruhn put the cape on her, despite only styling her hair. As he pulled the clip from it and let her blonde locks fall loose around her shoulders, he asked, “So tell me about this date. Who is he?”
She blushed as she met his gaze in the mirror as he dragged a brush through her hair, working the tangles free. “Well, we’ve known each other a while. He’s extremely creative and has a great work ethic. He’s funny and makes me smile and—”
“Is he hot?”
Lidia laughed, trying not to move her head so much and he sectioned her hair out and reached for the hot curling iron. “That’s not all that matters.”
“Bullshit,” he said, an eyebrow quirked in a way that told her he was the one full of a shit and was messing with her.
“Maybe to you,” she joked, but then added, “but yes, to answer your question, he is.”
“Hmmm.” He wrapped a section of her hair around the barrel. “Lucky you.”
She rolled her eyes. “I’d say he’s the lucky one. I’m a hell of a date.”
Ruhn chuckled, meeting her eyes in the mirror. “I’m sure. Where’s he taking you?”
Lidia chewed on her bottom lip. “Don’t know. He won’t tell me. Wants it to be a surprise.”
“Sounds like a dick move,” Ruhn muttered.
Lidia laughed. “I don’t know. I think it’s kind of romantic.”
“What if he takes you somewhere shitty?” Ruhn pushed, meeting her eyes in their reflection once more.
“Then I guess he’s not as good of a catch as I thought,” Lidia said, trying to keep still as he grabbed another section to curl.
Ruhn raised a brow. She liked it when he did that. It suited him. “Sounds like you have high expectations.”
She shrugged as he continued to make his way around her head. “Should I not?”
“Oh no, you should,” he said, with a small smile. “Don’t settle for anything or anyone. Let’s just hope this guy brings his A-game.”
“And if he doesn’t?” Lidia asked, humored. “Should I kick his ass to the curb?”
“Absolutely,” he said, with no hesitation. “He’d better show up with flowers and a night planned to perfection. If he doesn’t impress you, doesn’t blow your mind, then he’s gone.”
“Noted,” she responded, doing her best not to smirk. “Anything else I should remember?”
“Hmm,” he mused, reaching for the hairspray to lock in the work he’d done. “Don’t sleep with him.”
Lidia’s mouth popped open as he adjusted her hair, tossing her a wink, and she looked around to see if anyone else had heard him. “Excuse me?”
“Make him work for it,” he said, setting down his curling iron and taking off the cape. With one more wink, he said, “Have a good time tonight.”
She was still shocked by what he’d told her that she could only stare at him.
“My next appointment is in five minutes,” Ruhn added when she didn’t get up.
Lidia’s back straightened as she stood. “How much do I owe you?”
“Consider the coffee payment,” he said, eyes bright, and Lidia eyed him for another minute suspiciously before nodding.
“Thank you,” she said, turning towards the door.
“Welcome,” he grinned. “See you for your trim in a couple of weeks.”
Her eyes narrowed but Lidia said no more before leaving the salon. She drove back to her apartment with the radio playing quietly in the background, thinking about all of the so-called advice that Ruhn had given her. It was all she could think about as her afternoon went on. She still had a few hours before her date came to pick her up, so she spent half that time reading. After she felt enough time had gone by, she cleaned her face and reapplied her makeup a little more dramatically. Her hair looked phenomenal, and the little black dress that she slipped on completed the look.
Ruhn was right. Her date better bring his A-game, because she looked hot as shit. She checked the time — she only had twenty more minutes before he arrived. He better not be late.
He wasn’t.
He was five minutes early.
Lidia decided to let him wait out there a minute. Ruhn’s words came back to her: Make him work for it. She may as well start now. After looking at her reflection for another minute, Lidia took her time getting her clutch and opened it up, making sure all of the contents were there. Lipstick, money, I.D., hand sanitizer, a small pack of tissues. It’s what was always in her clutch. Nothing had changed. But she still took the time to count the contents and make sure she didn’t need anything more.
After that, she took another long look at herself in the mirror.
Her date knocked once more.
After a deep breath, she smoothed out her dress that didn’t need smoothing out and strode towards the door. Excitement brewed in the pit of her stomach and she could hardly contain herself, although she would never let it show, as she opened the door.
The jeans and black t-shirt were gone and in their place were a pair of slacks and a button down and blazer. The boots were still firmly in place, but as Lidia dragged her gaze over him top to bottom, she couldn’t miss the smirk on his face as he toyed with that damn lip ring.
Ruhn Danaan was something straight out of a magazine and by the stars, she was a lucky bitch.
“You’re early,” she said, pulling the door shut behind her and stepping closer.
“Wouldn’t want you to think I’m not bringing my A-game,” he said, taking her hand and tugging her towards him. She melted into his touch, turning her face up to him just as his lips met hers, unable to stop the smile blooming. After a moment, he pulled away. “You look absolutely beautiful. Ready?”
She nodded, but as he stepped back, she didn’t move. He glanced back at her with an eyebrow raised, finding a similar expression on her face. “What?”
“Where are my flowers?”
“Where are—?” His violet eyes lit up as he remembered what he’d said earlier. His grip on her hand tightened and he admitted, “On my kitchen counter. I sort of forgot them when I decided to come early.”
Lidia shook her head as she clicked her tongue. “I was told if I’m not impressed—”
“I think you should wait to test that theory,” Ruhn interjected, and Lidia could help but laugh. “I promise you’ll get your flowers, but first…just wait to see what the rest of the night entails.”
LIdia pretended to think on it. “I don’t know. Went to the salon. Got some pretty good advice. Pretty sure I’m supposed to leave you in the dust.”
“Don’t you dare,” he murmured and stepped closer, capturing her lips with his. Lidia sank into that kiss, not caring that he was currently ruining her lipstick. He broke that kiss a minute later but kept his arms around her waist as he asked, “Hungry?”
“Starving.” “Good.”
Ruhn took her across town to a new restaurant that they had never been to, but had raving reviews. It took months to get a reservation, and Lidia wanted to ask Ruhn how he made it possible, but she kind of liked the mystery of it all.
They ate steak that was way too expensive and drank wine that had Lidia giggling - giggling - by the time that they left. She had never eaten food so good, had never tasted food so delicious. She was stuffed and tipsy, and amazed when Ruhn said their night wasn’t even close to being done.
They took a walk through the city, hand in hand, pausing to kiss in dark corners until Lidia’s lipstick was nonexistent.
By the time they were heading back to Ruhn’s apartment, Lidia felt a joy so overwhelming that she nearly felt like she was living in a dream and knew it had nothing to do with the wine from dinner. In fact, the wine was wearing off and she was getting tired. Nothing sounded better than slipping on one of Ruhn’s tees and snuggling up close to him in his bed until morning.
As they ascended the stairs to his door, Lidia asked, “Do you want to turn on something scary or something funny to watch?”
Wrapping an arm around her shoulders, he pressed a kiss to the top of her head. “I thought we could do romance tonight.”
Blinking up at her boyfriend, Lidia stared. “Romance— what?”
Ruhn didn’t respond as they reached his door and he unlocked it, swinging it wide.
Lidia gasped as she took in the display before her.
Flickering tea candles sat atop every surface in the front room, illuminating the myriad of picture frames sat around, showcasing pictures, milestones and memories from their eight months together, while rose petals were on the floor. But not a scattering or a few tossed here and there.
There was an absurd amount of rose petals on the floor, so many that there were parts of the floor that seemed to be completely red.
A gentle hand in the small of her back had Lidia walking deeper into the living room, ignoring the petals in the floor to take in the rest of the scene around her.
“Ruhn…”
He said nothing and Lidia couldn’t take her eyes off of her surroundings as a million emotions swept through her mind and soul. When her vision blurred, she turned to face him.
And found him down on one knee.
“I’m not a traditional person by any means,” he began, quietly, “but I wanted to do this right.” Lidia swallowed, not trusting herself to speak. Ruhn smiled, his eyes bright. “I love you,” he said, and his voice was quiet, as if his nerves were taking away its strength. “And I know we haven’t been dating very long, not even a year, but I’ve known for a long time that you’re the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with, however long it may be. You make me happy. And you scare me a little bit, which strangely turns me on.” Lidia huffed a laugh as a tear spilled down her cheek. Ruhn pushed on. “I can’t imagine this life without you. I want you, so badly, more than anything, to be my wife. And if you say yes, then I promise to spend everyday trying my damndest to make you the happiest woman alive, to be worthy of you.” He swallowed, and Lidia felt like she was dreaming. “Marry me,” he breathed. “Please.”
For a moment, she didn’t answer, didn’t move, didn’t say a thing, and Ruhn’s smile faltered, but then she began to laugh. It was a quiet laugh, but one that took complete control of her body and mind as she nodded. The tension in Ruhn’s shoulders faded as she said, “Yes. Yes!”
Before Ruhn could catch his breath, before he could even comprehend what she had said, his back was against the hardwood floor and Lidia was lying on top of him, her mouth pressed to his. His tongue swept against hers before she leaned back, contentedly, and he slid the ring he’d bought onto her finger.
They both stared at it for a moment in serene appreciation before Lidia fell into his arms again.
“I love you,” she breathed, and he replied with the same words, full of love and triumph and excitement.
They moved from the floor to the couch to the bedroom, and by the time they were done, Lidia’s hair was an absolute mess.
But it was fine.
Her fiancé could fix it.

Oh my thank you so much for that Lucien one shot! It was perfect! And I do actually have an idea for a Ruhn thing as well🙈 so if you feel up to writing it:
How about reader has a big event that she is very proud of and worked hard and long on, like for example she published her first book or something, and she is so damn proud of it and really excited for all her friends to be there with her and her boyfriend Ruhn as well, but they all forgot, and Ruhn mixed up the date or something and is at a big party with the others completely unaware. Just super angsty but with a happy ending perhaps?
Hi! I'm so glad you liked it, thank you for the requests 💜
Forget Me Not
Ruhn Danaan x fem!Reader
Tumblr media
Smoothing the skirt of your dress, you strode proudly towards the Fae Archives. The library was bustling, full of people there to celebrate your new book launch which you’d worked years towards. Cheers greeted you as you entered the reception area, champagne and hors d’oeuvres passed on trays under the light of the chandelier.
You smiled broadly, joy radiating from every fiber of your being as you thanked each person who offered you their congratulations. You were, however, sidetracked in search of the only person whose presence mattered to you, Ruhn. The prince was nowhere in sight, and you began weaving through the crowd frantically for the one person who could keep you grounded and comfortable tonight.
As you jostled your way through the crowd, your eyes locked with Bryce’s her red hair like a beacon in the room. She waved to you, a smile beaming on her face as you walked towards each other.
“Hey honey, I just finished my shift at the archives. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to stop by earlier, but this is a hit!” Bryce gushed, pulling you in for a hug.
You smiled ruefully at her, thankful for her presence as you tried not to be too obvious that it was her brother’s that you were seeking. “Thank you for stopping by anyway, Bryce. Have you seen Ruhn, by chance?” you asked nervously.
Amber eyes softened as her smile disappeared. “No, I haven’t seen him.” Her hand reached out to hold yours, giving it an encouraging squeeze. “But I’m sure he’ll show soon.”
You nodded, too preoccupied in your own thoughts to fully listen as she continued on about the evening and your book. You were brought back to reality by the feeling of your phone buzzing in your pocket, sending Bryce an apologetic smile as you pulled it out to check.
On the screen was a message that had your blood heated.
Ruhn: Hey princess, are you coming by the party tonight? Been looking for you everywhere
Nostrils flared, eyes twitching, your grip tightened around your phone as you read the message. He forgot. The stupid bastard threw a frat party on your release night.
Bryce’s eyes widened, her hand reaching tentatively for your phone as she took it from your hand, reading the message for herself. “That idiot,” she groaned, pinching her nose with a sigh.
Her eyes flicked to yours, enviously long lashes batting against her freckled cheeks as her pitied stare gazed upon you. Swallowing thickly, you forced a weak smile. “Thank you for coming, Bryce,” you managed, barely above a whisper before fleeing from the building.
You sat in your car, folding your arms as you laid your forehead against the steering wheel. Your phone was buzzing incessantly against your thigh, but you threw it into the passenger seat as you drove home.
Slamming the car door shut, you trudged your way up to your apartment, locking the bolt behind you as you stripped your clothing, padding towards the shower. The hot water burned against your skin, a soothing distraction from the whirlpool of emotions within you.
Stepping out, you finally felt clean and relaxed enough to fall asleep as you checked your phone, over forty unread messages from Ruhn on your home screen. Pursing your lips, you read through each one - the confusion, the sorrow, the apologies as he remembered the importance of the evening for you.
Tears stung, your heart calling out to him while your mind insisted on sleep. You crawled under the covers, bare as you curled up and tried to fall asleep. A familiar click of your door lock sounded, rousing you from your slumber as boots trudged towards your bedroom.
The door creaked open to reveal a teary-eyed Ruhn, bags under his violet eyes as they softened at your half-asleep form.
“Hi,” he whispered, holding back a choked sob as he closed the door softly behind him. You simply stared, curly tighter into yourself as you bit your lip, forbidding yourself from shedding any more tears tonight.
“I am so, so sorry, princess. I really thought that your event was tomorrow. I never, ever would have planned a party had I known. Please, I need you to understand,” he begged, crumpling into himself as his elbows dipped against the corner of your bed, his face buried in them.
You let out a shaky sigh, eyeing Ruhn for a moment before nodding your head for him to join you. He smiled, shedding his outer clothing as he lifted the sheets, scooting towards you under the covers. Frustrated, you allowed yourself to sink into his warmth despite your anger, falling asleep quickly in his arms.
You awoke to the smell of cinnamon and butter, stumbling out of bed to find Ruhn frying a pan of French toast for you. You cracked a soft smile, before remembering the events of last night.
Your eyes shifting towards Ruhn in a glare, recognizing the instant guilt in his eyes, shoulder slumped as he looked to you. “I am so sorry about last night. It hurts me that I could ever forget something so important to you. I vow to never let that happen again. I am so sorry,” he cried, sniffling as he scooped the toast onto your plate.
Your gaze softened, understanding the sincerity of his tone. “Well, as long as it doesn’t happen again,” you teased, taking a bite of the toast on your plate. You moaned, eyes rolling back as you chewed. “Or as long as you make it up to me with this,” you gestured towards the cinnamon treat in front of you.
Leaning up to kiss him, you licked the syrup from Ruhn’s lips, a smirk spreading across your own as you relaxed to focus on your own plate. Ruhn smiled at you, tongue toying with his lip ring as he admired you in the morning light.
“I have plans tonight, to make up for yesterday. I know that nothing can really make up for my failure, but I want to take you to dinner. Please?”
You smirked, shaking your head as the wide blue eyes that watched you, knowing you could never say no. “Alright, alright. Try to make it up to me tonight,” you teased, shoveling a forkful of breakfast in your mouth with a grin.
“Perfect. I’ll be back later to pick you up. Wear something nice, that you can dance in. Alright?” he mumbled, leaning in to kiss your cheek before heading out the door.
Later that evening, you slipped into a silky lavender dress, hair curled in loose waves. You were putting the finishing touches on your makeup when the front door unlocked, Ruhn calling out your name as he closed the door behind him.
Stepping out of your room, you stumbled as you took in the sight before you. Ruhn was dressed in an all black suit, perfectly tailored to show his physique. His eyes wandered around the room, widening as his gaze landed on you.
A swallow worked its way down his throat, Ruhn’s jaw going slack as he stared at you in a trance. Your giggle snapped him back to reality, violet eyes darting to yours as an embarrassed laugh escaped him.
“You look... There are no words to do you justice. I do not deserve you,” he murmured, eyes soft as he approached where you stood. Warm hands wrapped around your waist, giving a light affectionate squeeze as he rested his forehead against yours. “Now, let’s go celebrate you.”
Ruhn led you downstairs, calling a car to drive you to dinner. “Plan on a crazy night, do we?” you teased, sliding into the car with Ruhn closing the door gently behind you.
He seated himself on the other side, taking your hand in his as the driver took off down the street towards the Old Square. When the car stopped in front of The White Raven, you flashed an unimpressed glance towards Ruhn.
“This is what you planned for a special night to celebrate?” you asked, lips pursed as you folded your arms across your chest.
Ruhn laughed, pressing a kiss to your hand before opening his car door. “Just trust me,” he said, swiftly exiting the car before running around to open your door for you. Helping you out, Ruhn thanked the driver, placing his hand on the small of your back as he led you to the entrance of the club.
Opening the door, Ruhn stepped to the side as he ushered you in, the sight before you taking your breath away. A large banner saying “CONGRATULATIONS” spanned the length of the bar, streamers and balloons decorating the entire space.
All of your friends were there, dressed in their finery as they cheered at your entrance. Tears immediately filled your eyes, your head whipping to wear Ruhn smiled softly at your side.
Leaning in, he wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you close. “The plan was to surprise you with this afterparty all along. My dumb ass just mixed up the dates,” he admitted softly.
Your heart melted at his words, and you reached out to him without a thought, pulling him in for a deep kiss. Whoops and hollers sounded from around you at the shameless public display of affection, and you laughed against Ruhn’s lips before pulling away.
“Thank you. This means so much to me, and I am so grateful for you,” you whispered, admiration in your eyes as you brushed Ruhn’s long black hair behind his ear.
A broad smile took over his face, Ruhn’s demeanor visibly lightening as he pulled you in for a hug. “Anything for you, my love. Now let’s go celebrate you,” he whispered, taking your hand as he led you into the crowd, where friends and family greeted you with hugs and accolades.

Hunt
Hunt would be sitting on the couch watching a Sunball game waiting for you to be ready for date night
When you stand in front of the TV Hunt finally notices you and his eyes look like they’re about to fall out of his head
“Do I look good?” And you do a lil spin for him. You know you look good you just like being cute with him
All through dinner and dessert he can’t focus bc you’re playfully kicking his feet under the table
When he flys you home he flys fast and practically breaks down the apartment door
You two don’t make it to the bed and he just takes you on the couch
Tharion
Tharion calls Bryce legs so we all know he’s obsessed with your legs
You’re just in something casual nothing too fancy for the middle of the day when you meet him by the Istros
As you walk and lounge in the sun Tharion can’t keep his eyes off you
He eventually pulls you onto his lap rubbing his hand up and down your thigh as you lightly kiss his neck
Ithan
I think Ithan would show the most self restraint
He’d pretend that you weren’t distracting him at all. Nope not one bit.
Then Ithan would see you doing something so normal like just talking with your friend and you look so perfect and happy
And he just takes you and comes up behind you, wrapping his arms around you kissing your neck, holding you close to him

𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒐𝒏𝒆: 𝒇𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚
To Ruhn, Bryce means the world to him and so does his mother. I wanted to incorporate his family into this. You can also add in his friends since they are technically his family too.
𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒘𝒐: 𝒄𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆
For this day, I wanted to focus on his royal title. You can do things that involve his title somehow. Maybe a royal coronation? Or even him doing "not so princely things"? *wink*
𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒆𝒆: 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒆𝒆
Now I know you all are saying, "Omg Chapter Three!". Yes, I'm dedicating this day to the smutty fanfic writers who want to write something filthy for our beloved princey.
𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒇𝒐𝒖𝒓: 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝒅𝒂𝒚
FREEDOMMMMM! You all may have the freedom to do as you please with our princey! It really can be anything of your choosing.
𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒇𝒊𝒗𝒆: 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒚?
This can be based off shakespeare (any book really) books/tropes, music, an art piece, etc.
𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒔𝒊𝒙: 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕
We all know this man IS the night (as is rhys but we are talking about ruhn rn lol) so it is fitting for this to be a prompt. You can do anything you would like with this one as well.
𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒔𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏: 𝒇𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒆
The final day is a day full of AU's. Be creative with this prompt because there's so many AU's out there for our princey! I can't wait to see them all.

Everything too felt heavy. Exhaustion and irritability had a tight grip over Y/N’s emotions. It had been weeks since she last saw her new friends. The paperwork that had to be done by midnight, sat blank on her laptop. She wanted nothing more than to sleep.
Each day, Y/N prayed to not wake whenever she did sleep. They say isolation makes everything worse for someone who is already vulnerable. However, Y/N had always thrown herself into her work. All the paperwork needed done anyway. If she had any chance of moving out, she would need to work more and harder. She placed her hand over her heart and began to count. It was a trick Fury had taught her when she was still around. Work use to be fun and she enjoyed doing the paperwork, and enjoyed doing forensics. Now? She did it to survive.
Just at the thought of having to go to work made her want to cry. Like she was to do now. She needed to breathe. Being in this house didn’t help matters. Y/N rubbed the middle of her chest and closed her laptop.  She obviously wasn’t getting any work done by just sitting and staring at it. A walk would help her clear her head.
Her heart began to pound harder against her ribcage, and her airway began to cave. She definitely needed to get out of the house. Y/N grabbed her denim jacket that hung on the hook and pulled it on.
She didn’t bother to bring her phone, no one ever bothered to call her anyway.
As she walked down the side of the street, she noticed the lack of activity in the city. No dive bars had their doors open, no sound of vehicles, or people arguing. That was unusual for a Friday night. Goosebumps began to run across her skin as she continued to walk. The further she got into the city circle, the worse she felt. Dread, doom, whatever it may be, it made her skin crawl. Something was terribly wrong.
As Y/N approached the bench Ruhn was already there. He was sitting with someone else who she didn’t recognize. She decide to change her direction towards the docks. In any case, she didn't really feel up for a conversation and preferred not to disturb anyone. Once she found a spot on the dock that was a good distance away from everything, Y/N let herself cry.
She drew her knees to her chest and rested her forehead on top of them. How was she supposed to live up to her parent's expectations without sacrificing her sanity? Maybe it was the price she had to pay for being born in the family she did. She hated to say it but she hated her parents. That thought weighed heavy on her heart because she really did want to love her parents but can’t. Not when they treated her like shit. Y/N groaned. Her sweater was soaked with tears and she knew she looked like a wreck. When she looked in the mirror that morning, she had dark circles around her eyes from the lack of sleep. She sighed and wiped her tear stained cheeks with the back of her hand.
Thats when the most horrifying thought slipped into her mind,
   What if I disappeared?
Nobody would notice and she could finally have a sense of peace. At the thought her heart began to race once more. Her hands were shaky and her breathing became uneven. She didn’t understand what was happening to her and why she had become so emotional. She didn’t even know she was rocking herself until someone laid a hand on her shoulder.
Y/N jumped but when she saw Ruhn’s face, the fear left her. His touch sent shock waves through her body and it…soothed her?
“Hey, what are you doing out?” he asked, his voice so gentle that it made her want to cry harder. No one had ever spoken to her like that.
Y/N sucked in a breath and picked at the tears in her jeans, “Trying to clear my head,” When she exhaled, it came out shaky.
In the night sky, the Starsword glinted against the moon above both of their head causing a halo effect around Ruhn. “We haven’t seen you in a while,” he said and she could have sworn there was a hint of sadness in his tone. She let it go.
The prince waited as Y/N swallowed down the lump in her throat and said, “I feel defeated,” she said,
   “How come?”
“Stress, and trying to live up to impossible expectations,” Y/N ran a hand through her hair, barely holding back tears.
“If they’re impossible, why try to live up to them?” he asked,
   He had a point.
Y/N knew she couldn’t keep up this impossible task she set for herself, but when someone takes the light from you, how desperate would you be to get it back? Everything. She wanted the light that Fury involuntary took from her. It was never her sister’s intention but Y/N envied her for all the praise she got.
“They want me to be someone I can’t. They want a daughter who is tough, and doesn’t show her feelings, to be smart,” Her voice trailed off,
“You don’t have to be what they want, you know?” he said. Y/N pressed her palm to her temple and stared at the prince,
“It’s stupid but I don’t know how much more I can take. I don’t want to be here anymore. I can’t even call that place home. They make me want to…die.”
Saying those words aloud made her sag with some relief. She was taught to suppress her feelings because they insignificant to her parents and to other people. If her mother heard her right now, she would throw a fit.
   “You won’t, right?”
   “Won’t what?”
   “Die.”
Silence hung in the air between them. If she said she wouldn’t, she would only be lying to him and that was the last thing she wanted to do. Before she could say anything, he drew her into his arms and rested his chin ontop of her head. Why was he being so kind to her?
“You don’t need to die for things to get better. You need to live and be who you want to be, it won’t always be this way,” he said quietly as he rocked her,
“Why do I get the feeling you’ve done this before?” she asked,
“Because I have. I’ve talked myself out of doing it,”
Y/N looked up and met his eyes. She could see the shadows of pain and sadness in his eyes and she believed him.
“Do you want to stay with us for a while? I would feel better if you were away from your parents and where I can watch over you,” he said. The question caught her off guard since this is only the second time she’s talked with him. “It’s only if you want to, of course,” he added quickly,
Yes. Yes, she did want to be around him more and yes, she wanted to be away from her parents. She pressed her forehead to his chest and nodded, “I’ll stay with you but there’s one downfall,”
   “And what would that be?”
   “I can’t cook,”
*two weeks later*
“Flynn, can you get the door!” Y/N called out as she pulled the cake out of the oven. All she had to do now was wait for it to cool then ice it. Since it was Bryce’s birthday, she wanted to do something special for her friend, so she baked her a cake.
Y/N did have help from the three males she currently roomed with. They helped grab things from the top shelves and ran to get ingredients from the store. Without them, this would have been a mess. Her mother had never really taught her how to bake but with help from Ruhn, she learned pretty quickly.
“It’s Hunt!” Flynn called from the other room. Y/N was thankful Hunt had been able to help set up the surprise party for his Mate because she has never planned anything for someone else before. Of course, Flynn and Declan helped when they could but Ruhn was the most help. He told her things about Bryce that could be incorporated into the party planning such as her favorite colors, her interests, what music she liked, the whole nine yards.
“Oh good!” Y/N took off her apron and placed the presents next to the cake,     “Hey Flynn, will you get drinks ready? I’m sure she’s going to show up earlier than she said she would,”
“You’ve got it, Y/N/N,” he said, taking Declan with him.
“Now for the most dreaded part of making a cake, the icing,” she sighed,
                                                ________
The party was a success. Bryce loved her cake and everyone was happy.
   Y/N was happy.
She sat next to Ruhn and sipped her tea as Bryce opened her presents. It was a shitshow about the whole ordeal with the Archangels, and Y/N surely needed a distraction too. With being so busy in her new position in the Aux, she deserved a break. She was no longer just a C.I. for the Aux, she now worked with Ruhn and Flynn. Mainly for basic things but when she spent her days with Declan, she was scanning footage.
Ruhn shifted toward her, draping his arm over the back of the couch, and grinned at her, “You look happy,” he said,
“I am happy. You gave me something to be happy about, and I don’t know how to repay you for it,”
“You don’t have to, Y/N. I did it because I care,” Ruhn smiled at her and her heart threatened to melt.
In that second, something tugged at her ribcage. She placed a hand on her side and held it there. It wasn’t painful but it was uncomfortable. The prince looked to where her hand was and his eyes widened, “Y/N?”
She must have made some type of noise because now everyone looked at her. The attention made her cheeks heat but Bryce tugged Y/N into the kitchen, “Bryce?” Y/N whispered,
“I know, It’s okay. Are you okay?”
   “Your brother is my mate,”
- there will be a part three!

Chapter 20: A Fresh Start
“I don’t believe we’ve met,” the Hind said, flexing and breaking the cards again. Her hands were deft, unfaltering. Unscarred. She wore a gold ring crowned with a square, clean-cut ruby. A subtle hint of wealth.
Ruhn forced himself to smirk. “I’m flattered I was so high on your priority list.”
“You’re my half sister’s fiance, are you not?” A lifeless smile. The opposite of Hypaxia’s warmth and wisdom. “It would be rude not to introduce myself upon arrival. I already visited your father’s villa. He informed me that you were here.”

Good morning, friends! We've made it to the end of week four! Only two weeks left! Now, here's some long-awaited sweetness. YOU DESERVE THIS FOR GOING THROUGH THOSE FIRST 19 CHAPTERS!!!
“I went back for you because I care about you, and that’s also why I worry about you throwing yourself straight back into the field, now. You’ve already sacrificed so much that you shouldn’t have had to, and I’m honestly afraid that your ability to so willingly accept your death and your desire to repent for the deeds of the Hind will lead you to make dangerous decisions,” Ruhn explained. “And I know it’s selfish, but I don’t want to lose this chance. I don’t want to lose you.”
