You know what. I'm gonna talk about FP/UI more, in reference to this post from the other day. This one goes out to @matchedpowerofthesun (sorry for the random ass mention from this Tumblr rando aka me o7 but you mentioned innopebbles in your reblog tags and that jolted some creativity juices out of my brain so like this one goes out to you).

Starting off; some relationship history. Pebbles and UI were the first two iterators of the third generation; built only a kilocycle or two apart. The first time they met was through UI reaching out to Pebbles via one on one message. UI was not nice to him at all at first! They were bored and had no real friends so they liked fucking with him and being mean for fun. Pebbles would be an ass right back because he had zero chill.

Then eventually he just...stopped fighting back. He just took it and didn't have the same bite in his replies anymore, then stopped really replying at all. UI got bored of messing with him after that because he wasn't fun for them to be mean to now that he didn't fight back. They pretty much lost contact with each other for kilocycles after that.

Eventually though, they ended up meeting again, when one of them was urged to contact the other by their admins in a bid to form an alliance with a close neighboring city. They started actually talking like adults instead of bullying each other all the time, and started reconnecting and actually getting closer from there. Neither really had any true close friends still, so it was nice having someone to talk to, especially someone so close in age. Over time one thing sort of just leads to another, and in turn to them getting together as partners.

Their relationship is open knowledge here; people rely on iterators more than ever, why hide it when neither of them will face any formal consequences? (Informal consequences however are still a rather dangerous possibility...) Plus they're both quite young and reckless (I'd probably put them both at about early to mid 20s in terms of equivalent maturity), so why not rebel a little in a way by breaking what is or used to be so taboo?

They honestly care a lot about each other though. They know more about each other than most others do, whether it be generally personal things only a close loved one would know or intimate things only a partner would know. They still bicker sometimes, but nothing awful or to nearly the same level as when they first met. They're pretty good to each other and for each other these days.

UI is also... quite worried about Pebbles honestly, even before the start of the focused upon time period of AU and the events that follow. They do know a lot about him after all.

Y’know, I have a funny story with the ship between Innocence and Pebbles.

@eggobuggo , my sister, was playing The Sims and made the iterators in her own humanised forms, including her version of Innocence and Wind, along with Moon, Pebbles, NSH and Suns, all with their own personalities and stuff. She set up a generic apartment, put the gang in, and just had fun making them do silly shenanigans together, while I sit and watched her play.

In particular, we headcanon NSH, Pebbles and Innocence as Gen 3s, the newer modes, and so she made them into teenagers, which, with a DLC, have a whole new host of features that are not in the base game. This includes getting crushes (which weirdly enough, young adults and adults cannot get).

But anyway, one day, later into the game (the gang basically all were in the high end of the friendship scale with each other), the notif board popped up that Innocence had gotten a crush on Pebbles. Unfortunately for her, NSH and Pebs were already being all flirty with each other (Ragequit is where it’s at for us), making Pebble basically keep her in the friendzone. Ngl, my heart went out to her :,) Especially so, because they were all sharing a room. (space was tight)

After that, I began thinking about it in context of it in-universe, and ngl, I came to quite liking it as a ship, especially since I see Innocence to be less… asshole-ish (?), I guess, than what the general fandom makes her out to be (I mean it’s understandable, we only see her to leak the pic of Pebbles condition and that’s it.). To me and Eggo, she’s much nicer unless you really piss her off, which then, her more cynical and gossipy side of her comes out. She was actually more of on the friends side with Pebble before the shit went down.

At the time, I thought “dang, it’s a shame I won’t be seeing anything of it since she’s so obscure.”. This was a couple months before I began seeing art of them on the main tag.

Soooo… I guess I’m somewhat of an og Milkshake (as is the fandom name) shipper???

Just, seeing you and others make art about them is almost surreal in a way, since the only reason I really considered them as a ship was cuz of a random event in a life sim game lol.

Also @eggobuggo, I hope you don’t mind me sharing the story. :)

Wow, that seems like quite the story! And I do agree, after witnessing something like that in a totally different game it must be pretty surreal to see the ship gaining popularity in the actual RW fandom now too! It's nice to get another seal of approval from an original Milkshake shipper!

For me, it's also a bit strange because it's something I've considered for a really long time as a lingering "oh, wouldn't it be cool if I could make this work?" idea. The obscurity and lack of content for UI to draw inspiration from, both canon and fanon, definitely added to these feelings and the difficulty of imagining a working portrayal of the ship, hence I've only recently felt confident enough about the relationship and UI as a character to act on it. So after Pura coined the ship name and made a lot more art of it, then other artists started expressing approval and even drawing it themselves, it almost feels like I'm watching the ship enter the mainstream (Tumblr) fandom consciousness in real time, which is honestly pretty cool, especially since it feels like I had a hand in it with that initial ask! And even if I wasn't the very first to consider it, I'll definitely continue supporting this ship!

For some other thoughts though, I totally agree on Innocence not being mean in reality, though for me she's not mean or gossipy at all and more so has a kind-of opposite major flaw that tends to cause bad things unintentionally. As much as I can understand interpreting the character as a genuinely mean person, I thought it'd be interesting to imagine that her leaking the rot simply caused others to perceive her as mean, not that she's that way in reality. After all, I don't think we ever see direct dialogue from Innocence in canon, and the only evidence I can find of her being mean is Wind's speculation on her motivations. I also took inspiration from @shkika's Innocence, but I just wanted to see if I could take those ideas further to create my own unique interpretation.

Also, it's actually pretty coincidental you're telling me this too, because in regards to what I've come up for my Milkshake portrayal, Innocence having an unrequited crush on Pebbles for a really long time is actually really important for both plot and character arc reasons! I've been developing my own take on the classic worm-off-the-string iterator AU idea with @hail-strom for like the past week or so and the ship as of now plays a decent role in that, but the unrequited crush acts as subtle, yet major context for Innocence's actions throughout, which in turn slowly influence Pebbles especially as he starts to reciprocate those feelings (much to his alarm)!

Anyway, thanks for sharing that with me, and thanks for giving me a chance to ramble about this ship more! I'm honestly so happy to see it growing, and all support counts!

Sunstone, SRS/FP: the only one that makes a lot of sense in my opinion, but somehow their portrayal in fanon is absolute garbage so 2/10 (i personally consider them to be a 10 but i am judging the fanon versions). Pebbles is made into a helpless spineless baby and Suns just takes care of him idk what else to say. Their dynamic is heavily misunderstood often portraying them straight up as mentor/protege when in reality they're just not that

Trafficlights, NSH/SRS: very boring and plain, NSH is either a daddy dom or a cutesy little clown guy, both interpretations suck, while Suns is left with zero of their traits displayed in canon other than being anxious i guess, they're weirdly regal and arrogant in a lot of interpretations. Also largely yaoi-ified 0/10

Ragequit, NSH/FP: NSH doesn't like Pebbles and seemingly has little to no interest talking to him, on top of that likely based his entire perception of him on what Moon had to say about Pebbles. Pebbles is made into some tsundere tiny twink that blushes constantly and this is very common problem with his interpretations in general you guys can't understand him to save your life 0/10

Triple divorce or whatever the fuck SRS/FP/NSH is called: one heck of a dysfunctional polycule, considering that Sig and Pebbles straight up just don't like each other 0/10 Ragequit, trafficlights and sustone made shittier basically

Lilypad, NSH/LTTM: might be idk, i personally don't view their relationship as particularly romantic. Since I think they're good friends i give it a 6/10 even though them not being romantically involved with each other is much more appealing to me

Milkshake, UI/FP: how do you even come up with this did you play the game. Innocence was not helping Pebbles in the slightest by blackmailing the guy and the fact that Wind mentions that its likely an attempt to be mean says plenty. Although not much is known about Innocence it's safe to assume they do not like Pebbles or have any intentions to help him out. The yandere UI fandom stuff is ridiculous 0/10

Moonstone, LTTM/FP: im not into incest 0/10

Eclipse, SRS/LTTM: only exists because of a somewhat cool name

Pebbles/Straw: another nothing burger ship entirely dependant on one's characterization of Straw, not ranking it

What RW scugs would taste like blended into a smoothie

Survivor: Vanilla Yogurt. Factory setting of a scug, factory setting of a smoothie (/milkshake at this point)

Monk: Coconut+Banana+Vanilla. Consider this, Vanilla is the flavor of their sibling (makes sense), they themselves are banana-coded, and the coconut is just in there for extra zest. Is it somewhat basic? Yes. Because Monk is somewhat basic. (By the way I know most smoothies involve Banana, but if I say Banana then it's specifically flavored as such)

Hunter: Lemon+Strawberry+Ginger. Hunter can't just taste normal- Honestly, realistically, it would be nasty- Because of the Rot, y'know. Anyways, bitter, a smidge spicy, but still red/pink with smoothie sweetness.

Nightcat: Sesame+Blueberries. Just about as black as a smoothie can get. Not very sweet; the taste overall just isn't all that intense. Most interesting feature is the texture. Alternatively, Oreo milkshake! But you know. That's licherally just a milkshake.

Gourmand: PB+Peach+Mango+Yogurt. The return of the yogurt flavor, not because of any relation, I just think Gourmand would be a thicker smoothie (/milkshake.. again). Creamy flavor yk. Same reason for the (smidge of) peanut butter... The fruit are both round and exude good vibes. I could also see Melon or Honeydew btw.

Rivulet: Battery Acid. Okay maybe he'd have blue raspberry flavor or something, but it would definitely be synthetic-feeling. Put some sour powder in there. Or some salt. Some energy drink in there. What the fuck is this drink???? Is it a milkshake??? a smoothie???? an affront to all that is holy??? FUCK IF I KNOW I don't make drinks

Spearmaster: Grape+Watermelon. A light and fresh drink... To perhaps be enjoyed with long biscuits, or perhaps some white chocolate sticks (whatever you call those). You can use it to drink your prescription medicine, just like Spearmaster after going to their therapist!

Artificer: Pomegranate+Blackberry+Cayenne Pepper. An honestly slighty fucked up smoothie with a deep red color. Doesn't go easy on the spice, more than you'd expect from just Cayenne, probably. The more it makes you feel like YOUR spit can turn a spear explosive, the better <3

Saint: Kale+Avocado+Banana. Yes this is a type of smoothie that exists... Kinda?? Anyways, it probably sorta tastes like grass, it's filling and could probably count as a dinner smoothie perhaps? It won't really keep you warm, it's a smoothie after all, but maybe you'll turn green afterwards

Enot: Mystery Sauce. It tastes different the longer it's in your mouth, and then the aftertaste is yet again something different. It kind of tastes like medicine, yet sweet, yet also flat sometimes. Thick smell and kinda looks oily <:(

Machines of Wartime AU character study #1: Unparalleled Innocense

Buckle the fuck in folks this is gonna be another long one because I'm passionate about how I characterize them here. Long post again, so more info comes after the cut. Note for reference and clarity that throughout this post UI will be referred to with they/ae pronouns quite interchangeably, so instances of either set are in reference to them.

No real major content warnings here, although I'll give a small warning for self destructive behavior, as well as a more minor precautionary warning for brief mentions of neglect and dehumanization from their admins.

UI is, essentially, a high energy constant stimulation seeker at their core, and a lot of what they do shows it in some way. It's a major reason (along with far less personality shaping going into their generation) behind why they used to be quite mean here before making steps towards improvement. They were never taught a healthy outlet to seek stimulation, so they will try pretty much anything to see what sticks; pretty much anything that gets a form of reaction from others is included in what does stick.

Spreading rumors and other bits of info makes people react, whether good or bad. This means results. People who learn them often further spread them. This means even more results. And when you build a reputation for yourself as "the mean rumor spreader", these results will get back to you all over again. Messages, reactions, more people coming to them to start shit; it's all results and reactions and stimulation. It's an easy way to get what ae want... even if it means people thinking less of aer for it. But hey, can't get lonely if you're constantly too stimulated or too busy seeking more of everything to really think about how nobody quite genuinely likes you! It's easy when you don't let yourself focus on feelings, just shut down any attempts at self awareness!

The reason they're like this, in reality, primarily comes not from being truly mean or spiteful at their core, but just from being built in a way where lack of proper guidance or true care from their creators after creation has left them both feeling a little abandoned ("why bother behaving when nobody cares about me anyway") and physically incapable of tolerating understimulation ("if I'm not doing enough it almost physically hurts"). They have incredibly high processing power; a measurable amount more than even Pebbles, and Pebbles and UI are respectively the first and second iterators of their generation to be created. If they're not using enough of that processing power, it drives them up a wall a little; they genuinely cannot stand being in a state where they're not receiving enough stimulation of some sort. They hate boredom and lack of activity and even just sitting still for too long. Movement, sound, reading messages, running 5 background processes at once, taking on multiple high intensity projects, whatever; it's all the same as long as it gives aer what their systems crave. More stimulation. And saying and doing shit to get reactions is heavily related to that; it's negative stimulation seeking behavior that was never properly taught as "don't do this it's not healthy", because quite frankly aer admins don't care what ae do, as long as ae have a high work output. They're just an iterator after all, right?

And then we come to why they're not really like this anymore, way more toned down in how they act. One big reason is simply time and maturity; they've gained more life experience and kind of just grown away from this sort of behavior in favor of better outlets. They're still young and reckless, but not as overwhelmingly so after a good few decades of time to live and grow. They've seen that it makes people not like them to act like that; even now they still have no real friends due to their reputation. It makes them lonely now that they've calmed down enough to actually think about how others view them instead of living in the moment; they don't want to be lonely. They don't want to be sad. Ae don't want to experience negative emotions, because feelings as a whole tend to be very intense for aer and bad ones really suck to deal with. And they want to get away from these feelings.

Another big reason is because of Pebbles, as was alluded to a little in this post. He's their partner, he cares about them, and they care about him too. For one thing, they don't want their own behaviors to reflect poorly on him by proxy; they're self aware enough now to see that this could happen, and they don't want anyone else to be made to feel like a bad person simply because of being associated with them. They don't want this for someone they love. For another thing, he honestly just makes them feel seen. He can see that they struggle quite badly when understimulated; but unlike aer admins who simply ignore anything that's not work and results and responsibilities, he actually cares enough to help them find a healthy outlet to, well, actually properly stim instead of leaving them to seek unhealthy, and ultimately self destructive since it blows up their ability to maintain friendships, methods. He views them as an entire person deserving of respect, not just a machine with a purpose. That's why they're actually together quite a lot; he's willing to give them what they need to get that stimulation in a more healthy way, whether that be engaging them in direct conversation or letting them constantly fidget with his clothes or just giving them a good squeeze because ae like the feeling. He loves them and cares about them and will go out of his way to keep them happy and engaged and focused on more positive outlets. He involves them in projects a lot because they're actually a very good worker when they care about the task at hand, and they love being delegated tasks to engage with! Giving them more tasks + generally more ideas on how to properly and healthily stim is exactly what they need, and he gives it to aer. It's a big part in why the two of them have a very strong relationship now, the level of genuine care and respect they've cultivated for each other.

They're actually getting a lot better now! They've mostly moved away from the more toxic sorts of behaviors they used to display, since they now have much better outlets. They're not a completely different person personality wise; they're still quite socially driven, and ae do love a good bit of interesting information. They're just mature enough now to not spread things they shouldn't. Ae still don't have true friends really, but they're working towards that and finally starting to gain acquaintances who actually like them and value them for who they are as a person. And they're a lot happier for it; they feel seen and valued and like they have actual reasons to try and be better now. They are loved, they are seen, and they are better off for it.

TL;DR UI is essentially a high powered supercomputer with ADHD that went completely unmanaged for a long time, and as a result they started seeking out negative stimming behaviors. They were never shown anything more healthy as an alternative. They matured over time and were finally shown better stimming methods by someone who cares about them, and it's helped them grow and improve a lot.

Setahun yang lalu (ditulis di tahun 2020).

Saat tulisan ini kutulis, waktu menunjukkan pukul 4 lewat 22 menit pagi, pada hari Selasa, 10 November 2020. Kurang dari sebulan, Desember akan datang, yang berarti tahun 2020 akan berakhir. Tahun sudah ingin berganti tetapi status “sendiri” masih ikonik di diriku yha. Tidak hanya “sendiri” tetapi juga “sedang mencari penghasilan” alias penggangguran, karrena tahun ini alhamdulillah akhirnya dapat lulus dari kampus kuning yang jaketnya warna kuning, bis kelilingnya warna kuning, kuning is lyfe pokoknya. Tahun ini merupakan tahun yang tidak mudah bagi masyarakat dunia, tapi bagiku tahun ini merupakan tahun penting karena pencapaian-pencapaianku. Setahun yang lalu aku mungkin tidak tahu atau bahkan tidak percaya atas pencapaianku di tahun ini.

Setahun yang lalu, aku tidak jadi ikut sidang skripsi dan tidak bisa lulus kuliah tepat waktu. Perasaanku campur aduk atas kejadian itu, sedih, malu, bodoh, dan merasa bersalah pada ayah dan ibu. Setahun kemudian, aku melaksanakan sidang skripsi secara online, wisuda juga online.

Setahun yang lalu, aku tidak pernah terpikir untuk memotong rambut sendiri, selalu mengandalkan ibu untuk menemaniku ke salon. Setahun kemudian, aku bisa memotong rambutku sendiri dengan tingkat estetika yang menurutku sudah cukup baik.

Setahun yang lalu hpku masih si mungil putih yang kucinta sejak tahun 2016 dan belum rusak tombol powernya. Setahun kemudian, hpku berganti jadi si panjang dan lebar berwarna biru. Terima kasih ayah dan ibu.

Setahun yang lalu, aku baru bisa masak air, masak telur, masak nasi, masak indomie, dan pesan gofood di kala lapar datang. Setahun kemudian, aku bisa masak air, masak telur, masak nasi, masak indomie, beli makan di perempatan, masak nasi goreng, masak spaghetti bolognaise, masak spaghetti carbonara, masak indomie carbonara, masak fettucini dengan saus marinara, masak roti eh bantuin ibu bikin roti, bantuin ibu bikin brownies, bantuin ibu bikin cake, bantuin ibu bikin cookies, bikin kopi dalgona, bikin milkshake, bikin sorbet, juga tetap pesan gofood di kala lapar datang.

Setahun yang lalu, sepedaku masih nongkrong dengan nyamannya di dekat tempat cuci baju. Setahun kemudian, kemanapun aku pergi pasti menggunakan sepeda alias pergi ke sekitaran rumah saja. Sepedaku kupakai untuk ke indomaret,ke alfamart,ke warung pak RW,  ke rumah teman,ke depan tmp kalibata, beli makan di perempatan, beli minuman cokelat deket bukopin,dan untuk olahraga alias ke tebet barat buat makan mi yunus dan minum kopi nako, sempet ke mcd untuk beli buryam.

Setahun yang lalu, aku belum bisa bikin alis sendiri. Iya, bikin alis pake pensil alis, alis buatan, kalau yang asli hanya Tuhan yang mampu. Setahun kemudian, aku dandan sendiri untuk wisuda online, pake foundation, bedak, pensil alis, eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow, blus on dan lipcream.

Setahun yang lalu, aku datang ke wisuda teman-temanku, foto di depan rektorat bersama teman-temanku dengan atasan blus dan celana jeans sembari membawa bunga. Setahun kemudian, aku wisuda online, foto di depan tembok fia yang sudah berganti warna untuk kedua kalinya menjadi warna ungu, foto di depan rektorat bersama ayah dan ibu dengan toga merah ungu tanpa kebaya tapi aku bersyukur dan cinta. Cinta sama ayah dan ibu.

Setahun yang lalu, nonton film di bioskop sama seorang laki-laki hanya berdua, terus sensitif sama lipstik merah. Setahun kemudian, nonton drakor di rumah sama ayah ibu, sudah tidak sensitif sama lipstik merah, tetapi tetap jomblo. Semoga aku tidak jomblo di penghujung tahun 2020 ini, aamiin.

Setahun yang lalu, selalu suka nonton orang kebut-kebutan, alias nonton motogp dan formula 1, setiap weekend tidak merasa kesepian walaupun jomblo karena ada motogp dan juga f1. Setahun kemudian, masih suka nonton orang kebut kebutan,masih jomblo juga tapi kepilih sebagai salah satu fans yang bisa tanya satu pertanyaan di press conference motogp lewat zoom. Aku bertanya kepada Joan Mir si calon juara dunia motogp musim 2020. IHIY.

Setahun yang lalu, selalu diboncengin teman naik motor. Naik sepeda saja sudah bersyukur. Setahun kemudian, aku bisa mengendarai motor memutari komplek rumah eyang. Berawal pemanasan di garasi dan berlanjut memutari komplek rumah.

Setahun yang lalu, masih pusing, dan galau karena belum lulus kuliah. Teman-teman banyak yang sudah lulus. Bukannya lulus kuliah, malah berjoget ria bersama pororo di stadion di gbk. Setahun kemudian, tetap pusing dan galau tapi karena belum mendapatkan pekerjaan. Lamar sana sini, malah halu melamar pekerjaan ke tim Mercedes F1.

Setahun yang lalu, mengurus laporan keuangan perusahaan-perusahaan yang ada di soal kuliah pengantar akuntansi. Setahun kemudian, membantu ibu mengurus laporan keuangan jualan roti dan kue. Rotinya Rini namanya. Beli ya.

Setahun yang lalu, buku novelku ada 3 yang  belum dibaca-baca. Hanya ditumpuk di pinggir meja belajarku. Setahun kemudian, buku-buku tersebut sudah dibaca, tetapi ada 3 buku lagi yang belum tuntas dibaca.

Setahun yang lalu, valentino rossi naik podium dua kali, daniel ricciardo tidak bisa naik podium, sebastian vettel masih di ferrari, manchester united masih belum bisa lagi juara epl apalagi liga champion. Setahun kemudian, valentino rossi baru bisa naik podium sekali, daniel ricciardo naik podium dua kali dan bisa shoey mengajak lewis hamilton, sebastian vettel belum bisa naik podium, manchester united tetap belum bisa lagi juara epl dan liga champion. Vale, Seb dan Daniel akan pindah tim di musim 2021. Aku jadi cinta marcus rashford, selain david de gea.Sampai bertemu di tulisanku selanjutnya.
