What is your favorite line that you’ve written in a fic?

‘Not yet’ whispers through the trees and B’Elanna shudders. And I couldn't even tell you why but it's my most favourite <3 From Existing In Your Orbit

Out of the comments you’ve received on your fics, what are two or three of your favorites?

I recently recieved amazing long comments on my Jemily series and I think they might be my most favourite. Also Jaz's comment on Mercy and the ones where people ask me for more smut because they're so funny.

What is your wildest headcanon?

I wrote a crack fic the other day where Seven drank a Big Gulp without taking a breath so I guess that one.

What’s your ideal writing setup?

Somewhere cosy and no noise.

Do you like to outline your fic first or create as you go?

Depends. For multi-chapter I usually try and have an outline or basis. usually just go with the flow and what kind of fic it is.

Have a piece of a WIP you want to share?

“What, and I’m not important enough for you to want to stay?” Raffi shoots back, picking at her nails. 

The hand that’s gripping the page of the book in her lap moves quick enough that it rips it before she snaps the book shut loudly. A pang of regret fills her chest at the fact that this is one of Raffi’s books but her frustration takes over everything else. 

“Stop putting words in my mouth, Raffi.” Seven stands to walk away. “When have I ever said you aren’t important? If I didn’t want to be here I wouldn’t come.” 

“You’ve never said I am important!”

Only if I'm trying to read a specific fic i've read before. I usually just scroll through all the fics til I find one I want to read again.

Really wish I knew haha.

This is a hard toss up but it's got to be either Before the Sunrise, Raffaela or Nostalgia

Both. Writing is cathartic and helps me get out my messy thoughts but also I love sharing things with others.

Why did you start writing fanfic?

To get all these ideas out of my head and to help me mentally.

Stupid dumb characters in my head /affectionate, and talking to others.

Do you research for your fics?

Usually if its needed. And it's usually for small little things.

What fics do you prefer on a scale of canon compliant to wildly original?

Probably in the middle. But I'll read near enough anything tbh.

Do you often write about a relationship or focus on an individual?

I usually focus on one character within a relationship with the relationship surrounding it.

Have you included any sexy scenes in your fics? If yes, do you find them easy or difficult to write?

It depends on the vibe tbh. Sometimes it flows a lot easier than others. I do have to write from a giving position usually though otherwise its hard af lmao.

Is it easier to write angst or fluff?

Angst. I never feel like I get fluff right honestly.

What sort of endings do you prefer to write: ambiguous, bad, happily ever after, etc.?

Happy endings even if everythings gone to shit before. Except Before the Sunrise but that's an outlier. Sometimes I'll do ambiguous or bad but I tend to need the happy endings to make me feel better haha.

How many WIPs do you currently have?

Oh no...I don't even want to count. Ones that are written that don't include multichapters? Maybe 5? MC's and just ideas included thats probably in the teens honestly.

Does anyone beta read or edit your fics?

Bestie Blaine is always the best beta and makes my stuff make sense <3

Is there a fanfic or fanfic writer you recommend?

If I had to choose one fic, it would have to be Foundations. Authors, alreadyaccepted, smol_yellowbumblebee, ericine, daxs10thhost, bimichaelburnham, sleeplessrivers, dolcewrites, fenrisranger, thequeerengineer, sgtmac, falltonadir...okay just everyone in the Saffi/Picard tag okay <3

What led to your interest in the fandom?

My partner got me watching the first season of Picard and there were gays so, the rest is history I guess.

Are non-fandom friends aware that you write fanfic?

I am quite open about it haha.

What is the most impactful lesson you’ve learned about writing?

Reading other people's fics and interacting with them is the best way to enchance your own writing.

Do you like writing short fics or long fics?

I love writing long fics but lately that's been an impossible struggle and I've felt kinda like a failure. Last year I wrote something like 70 fics because I did a lot of drabbles. This year I want to focus on longer fics and I have quite a few ideas stored up.

Do you have a writing milestone you’re working towards?

It depends. Sometimes i can look at a chapter and I'll guess how long it is (and then it'll be longer) but I usually go with the flow.

Any advice for writers working through burnout or writer’s block?

As someone who just got out of burnout, its to try something new. I started With Love, A which is a totally different format from what I've done before and it's really brought me out of the slump. Also talking through things with other people is always great.

Would you ever want to write something canon if you got the opportunity?

I would like to make my own canon someday haha.

Is there a favorite trope you like to write?

Hurt/comfort is my beloved.

If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?

Polycule cuddle pile. Which one? I have too many to choose from.

After Raffi hears that name come so nonchalantly from Shaw’s mouth, she gears up to fight. She doesn’t care if he kicks her off the ship, no one disrespects Seven like that.

Seven turns and leaves quickly.

“Seven…” Raffi follows her into her room.

“I’m okay, it’s fine.” She replies through gritted teeth.

“Bullshit. Stop saying that you're okay! I know you're not.”

Seven shudders to a stop and closes her eyes. Raffi reaches for her and pulls her into an embrace, running her fingers through her hair.

“Seven…I’m so sorry you’ve had to put up with this.”

Seven clings.

Raffi’s not sure what wakes her up at first, drowsy from her slumber and cosy and content from where she’s curled around Seven. She opens her senses, let’s them feel around and try to wake her brain up enough to think properly. She’s awake for a reason, and it feels like a very important reason.

It takes Raffi several more minutes than she’d like to admit to realise Seven’s shaking. No, not shaking. Shivering. Untangling herself slightly from her girlfriend, Raffi leans up on her elbow to look down at her. In the darkness of the bedroom she can barely see her, but the shivering continues to vibrate against her.

“Computer, raise lights to twenty percent.”

Dim, but enough for Raffi to see, the lights brighten and she watches as Seven continues to shiver with her eyes squeezes shut as if she’s pretending it’s not happening.

“Honey? Whats wrong?” Gently Raffi raises her hand to brush some of Seven’s hair from her forehead. Her skin feels clammy and warm and she can instantly tell she has a temperature. She watches as Seven reaches up for her hand, seeing how stiff her movements are and how Seven signs fine on her palm.

“Yeah, no, I’m not believing that.” Raffi tuts as Seven signs fine again a little more aggressively.

With a sigh, Raffi tries to bury down the worry she feels any time there’s something wrong with Seven. She knows exactly what’s caused this but that doesn’t mean she can’t be concerned about it. It’s hard to pinpoint how Seven’s physiology is going to react when it comes into contact with something new.

“I told you to stay away from those cacti, that a scratch could give you an adverse reaction.”

Seven scowls with her eyes still closed and Raffi thinks it’s cute (though she knows better than to say that out loud).

Shut up.

Yes, Seven’s clearly not feeling well enough for anything. Raffi rolls her eyes, not taking it personally. Seven gets a pass with how awful she looks.

“This is why we listen to Raffi.”

No. Go away.

She reminds Raffi briefly of how stubborn Gabe was when he was ill; running around not willing to stop until he was practically dropping to the ground. He had always wanted her though, clung to her until he started feeling better.

Raffi goes to move from the bed, ready to get Seven the essentials and then leave her be for a while if that’s what she wants, but is stopped in her tracks when Seven whines and practically flings her arms around her waist.

“Woah, babe, steady.” Raffi’s hand comes down to rub her arm gently. “Do you want me to stay or go?”

Stay. Seven signs against whichever part of Raffi she finds first. Maybe she and Gabe really are similar. That makes her heart ache.

“Okay, I’ll stay, but I need to sort out some supplies for you first. I won’t be long.” Raffi carefully prizes Seven’s grip from around her, causing her to whine again but not try and stop her.

Once she’s free, Raffi gets up and walks to the kitchen to grab everything she needs for her sick girlfriend. Water, an electrolyte smoothie, a cool cloth for her forehead, a hypospray to help with the pain. Everything is placed on the bedside table before she goes to the closet and reaches for her favourite blanket. Making sure Seven is comfortable and warm, she gets her to drink a little before joint her back in bed.

Immediately Seven is clinging to her, resting her head on her chest whilst Raffi places the cloth against her temple and pulls the blanket over them both.

“There you go honey. Are you comfortable?”

She feels Seven nod against her chest and Raffi leans down to press a kiss into her head. She leaves Seven like that for a while, can feel the way she drifts in and out of sleep against her. Raffi reads or works on her PADD but she never lets her attention stray from Seven for long.

After a few hours she feels Seven shift against her, clinging to her tighter and letting out a whimper. Raffi reaches over for another dose of the hypospray and clicks it to Seven’s neck. She relaxes back against her and Raffi strokes her thumb over her cheek.

A small sorry, thank you is signed against her side.

“Don’t be silly,” Raffi’s voice is laced with love. “Anything for my best girl.”

Forehead kisses usually make me go feral ngl. I'm very big on small, meaningful touches or when one of them cares for the other because they're tired or in pain.

😈 Has there been a point in a story where you did something just to be playfully mean to your readers?

I don't think it's really playful but the way I left chapter 14 on Before the Sunrise was just plain mean lmao. I like doing cliffhangers sometimes just to be mean, like chapter 4 of With Love, A.

🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.

If it's about Raffi, I'll usually try and get some angelic imagery or theme in there. There's always gonna be something about light or space. I do also like my darker themes and hurt/comfort maybe a little too much. But, and it depends on the fic, I'll usually make references to other fics of mine and see if people pick up on it.

🎢 Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?

Saffi Kinktober fic was wild af. Before the Sunrise/Aurora are the epitome of drama. But no, definitely Saffi Kinktober. Or Down the Rabbit Hole.

All together back in 2009 I'd say I wanted to join my bestie at the time on the RP site she'd joined and we were always chatting about stuff we made up anyway. I think with Saffi and ST it was a new start from the disaster of the CM fandom, and Raffi just started writing herself honestly.

1. What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work? (In other words, what do you think is the best introduction to your fics?)

Grumbling at you making me rec my fics. This is a hard one. Honestly probably Raffaela (but I’m biased because it’s one of my favourites) or Nostalgia. (I lie the answer it Before the Sunrise but I’m not reccing that one).

I expected angst to be higher but I do have a lot of hurt/comfort or emotional hurt/comfort on the list and I usually go between the two. The fluff actually surprised me, I expected less of that. (I’m also not saying what my fourth tag is).

Actually I was talk your ear off about my fics and it will be annoying as hell so like don’t if you don’t want to suffer.

7. Any worldbuilding you’re particularly proud of?

The entire worldbuilding of Existing in Your Orbit. The extension of the pirate au and the Lucia au, and of course perhaps the most is the whole Before the Sunrise verse (fine I’ll link it now I guess).

16. What’s an AU you would love to read (or have read and loved)?

I love a good AU. Honestly give me more Raffi on Voyager AU’s (talking to myself). The two I love very much are Raffi’s Garden and let this road be mine.

Writes down half of the BAU. No but seriously, JJ and Reid especially. I don’t think there’s any ST characters who’ve done that yet, any that I don’t like is because of the character.

When people see Raffi as an extension of Seven or when they try to downplay her suffering for Seven or they forget how smart she is or when they just don’t respect my girl.

When people make Emily out to be cold hearted, a home wrecker and dumb. Sorry but JJ is the home wrecker
