Oh no, there is a Rytlogan story itching beneath my nails for a few days now... throwing a few snippets at ya: AU - no Dragons (but Sylvari still exist - how? - because I said so); human race enslaved not just by Centaurs and Krait, but by Charr as well; Asura did not stop experimenting on Sylvari side-plot; Destiny's Edge era (except they all meet under different circumstances)

main plot, but without trying to tell you too much: Ascalon.

That snargle book in ebonhawk, being destroyed in the siege fire, ATLEAST 4 YEARS BEFORE 1325, would have had the most SCATHING REVIEWS from the humans and charr thanks to it being released before the treaty was even talked about. Snargle is truely a man ahead of his time. Wish i was there.

.....they couldn't ALL hate each other right?? I'm not the first person to say that humans (esp Ascalon) and charr.... Had sympathizers. Among them. Surely y'all have speculated this before, the game's been around ten years and I barely started bothering with my 5yo characters in the past couple months. I'm new here. So there's GOTTA be somebody who has explored the idea of anti-war protesting. Explored the idea of people hoping for charr-human relationships to improve, or for the monarchies and military leaders in place to Stop That and for peace to somehow be made.

Like. Some human was part of a secret group of agents or something, going across enemy lines to meet with their charr compatriots. Some charr warband go against their orders bc they've met a band of humans who don't seem so bad after all.... So surely not ALL these humans are bad? Right? Could there not have been groups, maybe even organizations however small, of Ascalonians against expansion and colonization?? And could there not have been warbands or even individual charr secretly meeting with and befriending humans??

95% of us ship rytlogan in some form or fashion. Y'all already know they couldn't be the first human/charr... Whatever that is lmao. What if-- and bear with me here. I've been having brainrot over this specific idea all day-- something something "charr secretly meeting with human lover," something something "Foefire," something something "both their ghosts wandering around the wall looking for one another."

Hey, like I said. I'm new here. There's plenty I'm probs missing while I rot the grey matter in my skull over Orrian high fashion trends for royalty, stuff the rest of you feral fucks have already fleshed out or bailed on the head yourselves. But now I'm extremely tempted to write whole pieces over this concept and I deffo have a fic idea or two.

Ship or don't ship: Rytlogan / ship or don't ship: Harrianthe

Rytlogan.. I could go either way on this one, there's definitely arguments for and against the ship (solid one being that per the DE novel Logan is like a brother to Rytlock) BUT Ship It

What made you ship it? So as you know I'm not a big fan of Logan. Like he's on the bottom of my DE ranking list. And Rytlock is an asshole but I like him because of that. And I think that on a purely physical level (which is, honestly, usually 80% of my reason for liking a non-canon ship) Rytlock, being a big sexy charr, deserves a white twunk to rail. And I think that deep down, Logan wants to be the white twunk getting railed. What are your favorite things about the ship? You can follow this path for Rytlogan. Enemies->Friends->Enemies->Lovers. And I like that. It's messy. And they're both macho soldiers that I think are comfortable, though neither would admit it, sitting down and being vulnerable with each other at the end of the day. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? I don't know actually, I'm not sure what opinions aren't popular in the.... Rytlogan community? I'm not sure I have very many opinions on it either way.

Ship It

What made you ship it? Uh. Reading HtN. That's it. I was reading it and was like, "yeah I ship this" What are your favorite things about the ship? They've both seen each other at very low, vulnerable points. Also... the lobotomy, the bone arm, they've both had a hand in doing something very physical and personal to each other. I wouldn't call them a ship borne out of romance, but something out of desperate kinship, and that has its own appeal. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Harrow/Gideon/Ianthe ship is great they each have two hands. I don't like it when fics have them pick one or the other.

I hardly care about ships. Rytlogan was one that I liked. Occasionally I check on one ship from genshin impact that I won’t mention to avoid conflict. And for OCs it’s Kyn/Luke regardless of AU. The ultimate duo. My go-to bread to knead.

Closing his eyes, Rytlock could easily recall the moment; Logan on his knees in front of him, flushed and angry after losing a bet, but still doing it. Fully committing, like he had secretly wanted to lose.

It was one of Rytlock's fonder memories of Logan, he would admit.

i like rytlogan anyway because i think they've got a fun, bickering husbands kind of dynamic but even if you aren't on board let me suggest that rytlock and logan being in, or even having a previous relationship, is extremely funny come dragonfall. logan co-ordinating troop movements while rytlock makes unblinking eye contact with gwen like
