The Chao holds its forehead...wait...saffron was....shot in the head...why is she just feeling the pain from her death now...

She looked up in concern, looking around for something, anything. She could see what was happening, and it was terrifying. If this was Saffron, which it very clearly was, then.. She didn't want her to suffer any more than she already had. Wasn't it enough already?! She held the chao tightly in her arms, trying to do something - anything.

64. Deduction College

DAMN when's the last time I got to share a design for an episode?

It probably wasn't that long ago it just feels like it.

With Fletch sketching out the last few designs and only 3 episodes left to write, the MURDLE cartoon is almost COMPLETE!!

Here's Dean Glaucous! Heavily based off of Asgore from Undertale, he is an 'herbivorous lion'! Unlike his more aggressive wife Tuscany, he is a kindly old man with only a slight tendency for murder. And he was an incredible father to Logico, despite the difficult circumstances.

DON'T READ THE EPISODES UNTIL YOU'VE FINISHED THE FIRST BOOK!!

Logi goes to his childhood home, the Deduction College. He goes to the library to research the past of his town. But the librarian is dead (ofc). The ministers, Glaucous and Tuscany are there. They’re essentially Logico’s parents. 

SAFFRON: HIIIIII LOGICO!  LOGICO: What are you doing here?! SAFFRON: I was gonna go look for books about the FUTURE! 😀

Logico doesn’t care. What he does care about SLIGHTLY is the fact that MR. SHADOW IS STILL THERE. You could say it… followed him home. Logi screams again, but then stops himself. It is completely irrational to be afraid of a shadow. It’s… NO ENOUGH! Murder. Right.

SAFFRON: Awww, Logico, I know you’re sad. LOOK, A MURDER! That’s good right? You can solve it! SHADOW: Shh.

Logico wanders. He thinks of the symbols Mauve showed him on the ruins… letters with no meaning. Perhaps they spelled ‘eulogy’, like the one Irratino was never given.

Glaucous is looking at a pine tree. It is pretty. Saffron has a pencil - maybe she IS smart! 

SAFFRON: 1 + 1 + 1 + 2, school’s not really there for YOU!

No, she isn’t. Logico sees that crystal skull AGAIN- the one from his first mission with Tino as his partner. It gives him too much. Some college kids run away screaming as Shadow slowly walks up to the skull on the ground. It picks it up, and turns away. That thing fucking stole Irratino’s skull!! That sounded more wrong than it was. Logico stomps after the beast ANGRILY. Then it looks at him, and he changes his mind.

LOGICO: You stupid fucking… THING! I am NOT scared of you!

He is scared of it.

Watch out - Logico solved another murder!

TUSCANY: The librarian was awful and should have been fired years ago. I did a good deed, but I should have known better than to kill when our smartest graduate was visiting. [pats Logi] LOGICO: Flattery will get you nowhere. TUSCANY: What about bribery?

Logico thinks about it. That does sound nice. Then he realizes that he is supposed to be grieving??

LOGICO: Give me access to the Old Main archives and we can talk.

Tuscany sighs and wanders to the stairs. Logico looks back. 

SAFFRON: Wanna know a secret?

IS SAFF ABOUT TO SAY SOMETHING HELPFUL???

SAFFRON: I was just pretending to be smart so that Dame Obsidian wouldn’t notice me. HEEHEE! LOGICO: Wait-

He runs back to the stairs and Shadow is blocking him. 

LOGICO: YOU BEAST!

Logico has to fight his way past. Shadow rolls down the stairs and runs away at the speed of light before Logico can think of catching up.

The end!
