I wonder if there was initially, a subtle joke/foreshadowing in this scene. As in, Usagi is trying to evade the conversation on the grounds that Chibi Chibi is with them, therefore they aren’t alone...except ChibiChibi is Usagi (from the future*) so they technically aren’t alone.

*Or was intended to be  initially, the anime changed this later.
