Last week, at a White House meeting with the C.E.O.s of Uber, Goldman Sachs, and Salesforce, Donald Trump touted “a pro-family initiative that will help millions of Americans harness the strength of our economy to lift up the next generation.” He was referring to a provision in the tax-and-spending bill that House Republicans pushed through in May, which would establish tax-deferred investment accounts for every child born in the United States during the next four years, with the federal government contributing a thousand dollars to each. House Speaker Mike Johnson, who was also present at the White House meeting, described the proposal as “bold, transformative.”
It could more accurately be described as an effort to put lipstick on a pig. As everybody surely knows by now, the House bill—formally called the One Big Beautiful Bill Act—is stuffed with tax cuts for corporations and for the rich, and it proposes to slash funding for Medicaid, food assistance, and other programs that target low-income Americans. The proposal for new investment accounts didn’t change the bill’s highly regressive nature. According to a report by the Congressional Budget Office, over all, the bill’s provisions, including the new accounts, would reduce the financial resources of households in the bottom tenth of the income distribution by about sixteen-hundred dollars a year relative to a baseline scenario, and raise the resources of households in the top tenth by an average of about twelve thousand dollars a year. In other words, it’s a reverse-Robin Hood bill.
The new savings vehicles that Republicans are proposing also demand inspection. Johnson and other Republicans are trying to promote them as pro-family and pro-worker, and some media accounts have described them as “baby bonds.” But the proposal bears little resemblance to one of that same name which some progressive economists and elected Democrats have been promoting for years, as a way to tackle gaping wealth disparities in America. Given the way the Republican scheme is structured, it could well end up entrenching existing disparities rather than helping to eliminate them.
Endowing children with some wealth to help give them a proper start in life isn’t a new idea, of course. Rich families have been setting up trust funds, in some form or another, for centuries. But what about children in families that have little or no wealth to hand down? (According to the Federal Reserve, in 2022, the average net worth of households in the bottom ten per cent of the wealth distribution was one dollar. One.)
In 2010, the economists Darrick Hamilton, who is now at the New School, and William Darity, Jr., of Duke, outlined a plan to create interest-bearing government trust accounts for children who were born into families that fell below the median net worth. Under the Hamilton-Darity plan, the average value of these government contributions, which they described as “baby bonds,” would gradually rise to roughly twenty thousand dollars, with children from the poorest families benefitting even more. Adding in the interest that would accumulate in these accounts over the years, Hamilton and Darity calculated that some of these kids could end up with more than fifty thousand dollars by the time they reached adulthood.
Although the baby bonds would be distributed on a race-blind basis, the fact that Black, Indigenous, and Latino families were (and are) disproportionately represented in the lower reaches of the wealth distribution would have meant that the scheme would have worked to the benefit of their children—with a concomitant impact on the racial wealth gap. (In 2022, according to survey figures from the Federal Reserve, the median wealth of Black households was $44,890, compared with $285,000 for white households.) Indeed, Hamilton and Darity claimed that their proposal “could go a long way towards” eliminating the intergenerational transmission of racial advantage and disadvantage.
This proposal was never put into effect. But a version of it lived on in the form of legislation proposed by Cory Booker, the Democratic senator, in 2018, and subsequently reintroduced, in 2023, by Booker and Representative Ayanna Pressley. Under the Booker-Pressley bill, all American children at birth would be given a publicly financed investment account worth a thousand dollars, and the government would make further payments into these accounts annually depending on family income. When the owners of the accounts turned eighteen, they would be allowed to use the money for certain specified expenditures, including buying a home or helping to pay for college. “Baby Bonds are one of the most effective tools we have for closing the racial wealth gap,” Pressley commented when proposing the legislation.
On the Republican side of the aisle, some politicians and policy analysts have long supported tax-advantaged private savings accounts as a way of encouraging thrift and staving off socialistic tendencies. But it was only recently that the Party came around to the idea of seeding these accounts with public money. The Texas senator Ted Cruz promoted it under the label of “Invest America.” In the House bill, it was rebranded as a “MAGA Account,” with the acronym standing for “Money Account for Growth and Advancement.” Republicans renamed it a “Trump Account” at the last minute. “You can call it anything you like,” Cruz told Semafor. “What is powerful is enabling every child in America to have an investment account and a stake in the American free-enterprise system.”
In political terms, Cruz may be right: during COVID, direct federal payments proved popular with voters (and Trump insisted on putting his name on the checks, too). But in socioeconomic terms, the Republican proposal would be much less potent. “It’s upside down,” Darrick Hamilton told me last week. “It amounts to a further subsidy to the affluent, who can already afford to save in the first place.”
The details of the proposal confirm Hamilton’s point. Money in the new Trump accounts would have to be placed in a low-cost stock index fund, and investment gains would be allowed to accumulate tax free until the funds were used. Parents and others would be allowed to supplement the original government endowments of a thousand dollars with contributions of up to five thousand dollars a year. But poor families obviously wouldn’t have the means to provide top-ups. “That means poorer families with no savings will get $1,000 compounding over 18 years while rich families will be able to invest up to $90,000,” Stephen Nuñez, an analyst at the Roosevelt Institute, wrote in a piece about the G.O.P. plan. “That will widen the wealth gap.”
There are other issues, too. It’s far from that clear that banks or brokerages will be willing to administer the new accounts without charging hefty fees that would deplete them. Some financial experts say that most households would earn better returns by contributing to existing 529 college-savings plans. (The limits for contributions to 529 plans are higher, and in many states they aren’t subject to state taxes.) Conceivably, some of these concerns could be resolved by pooling the money in the accounts, by fiddling with the tax code, and by encouraging employers of the account holders’ parents to make additional contributions to them. (At the White House meeting last week, Michael Dell, the C.E.O. of Dell, said the company would be willing to match the government contributions.) But these are only suggestions, and it’s hard to avoid the conclusion that the entire project is largely an effort to divert attention from the true nature of the Republican economic agenda.
“You certainly would want to question the timing of the proposal,’ Hamilton said to me. However, he added, that, “with regard to the Trump Accounts, the idea of a stakeholder society is not bad. That part is valuable, if you ask me.” He said that when he was growing up, in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of New York, and attending an élite private school, the role that inherited wealth played in determining people’s life prospects was “vivid” to him. Where Trump and the Republicans have gone wrong in promoting the stakeholder concept, he went on, is “one, by relying on saving, and, two, in the regressive structure of the program.”
To be sure, Hamilton’s “baby bonds” initiative would involve considerable costs, and that is one reason why it has never got off the ground politically. In our conversation, Hamilton cited a figure of a hundred billion dollars a year. That sounds like a large number, he conceded, but he also pointed out that it would amount to less than two per cent of over-all federal spending, and he said that it would be considerably smaller than the sums currently devoted to subsidizing private wealth accumulation by people who already have some wealth, through things like the mortgage-interest deduction and the low tax rate on capital gains.
Hamilton didn’t mention it, but according to the Congressional Budget Office an extension of the soon-to-expire 2017 G.O.P. tax cuts, which is the primary purpose of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, would cost nearly five hundred billion dollars next year—five times the estimated cost of his baby-bonds proposal. Given the Republicans’ dominance in Washington and the gaping budget deficit, there’s obviously no immediate prospect of the U.S. government reorienting its priorities to tackle rampant wealth inequality, in the way that Hamilton and his colleagues recommend or in some similar manner. But that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be possible. If the commitment to levelling out wealth were broadly shared, the possibilities would be many.

6 Reasons Why Custom Software Development for Businesses in Dubai Must Be A Priority!

Can you name the entrepreneurship and innovation hub of the world at present? It is neither the US nor India. The answer is Dubai. As the government of UAE lets entrepreneurs rule almost tax-free that too with 100% private ownership without any forced Emirati partnership, the capital Dubai has emerged as the most preferred location for business owners.
Being the land of innovations, Dubai is also a technically advanced city. Resultantly, to balance the massively growing businesses and consequent workload, the UAE depends majorly upon software products.
However, when it comes to choosing between pre-made and custom-built software products, entrepreneurs often face difficulties. But no longer! After reading this blog, you will be able to make the right choice soon.
So, let’s figure out the top 6 benefits of custom software products and find out the suitability of pre-made software products.
6 Benefits of Customised Software Products for Dubai-Based Businesses
Choosing Custom Software Development Services in Dubai can be a smart choice over choosing pre-made software products for business process automation. There are varying reasons that support this argument.
However, let’s first understand the actual meaning of custom development before we list its benefits.
What Exactly a Custom Software Product Is?
In simple terms a ‘customised’ software product! When a software engineer codes and programs a software product from scratch exclusively for your business, it is called custom development.
Say, for example, Salesforce is a Pre-made CRM software to manage customer queries. Being a worldwide available program, it has a large user base and many advanced features like Einstein AI, Omni-Channel Support, Tableau Integration and more.
However, such advanced features may or may not be the requirement of a new startup. But automating customer relation management is a necessity anyhow, especially during the growing stage. In such a case, custom coding is the solution. So, let’s discover the top 6 benefits of custom solutions in more detail:
Development in Dubai is More Budget-Friendly!
However, custom development is expensive. But, the lenient taxation policies of the Dubai government make it rather budget-friendly.
Undoubtedly, customised solutions are the far better option for any organisation. But the expensive development often discourages businesses from opting for custom-built software products.
Dubai on the contrary offers budget-friendly custom software development in two ways:
Lenient Taxation policies
Abundance of workforce and service providers from developing countries
Moreover, pre-made software solutions mainly come from countries like the USA. The US Dollar is 3.6 times higher in value than the Arab Emirates Dirham (AED). Simply put, 1 USD equals 3.67 AED (approx.).
Clearly, a subscription to these pre-made software solutions is not a pocket-friendly option at all!
So, why choose a less tailored solution when you have access to a personalised one without budget constraints?
Maintain Your Brand Identity
As the UAE is a hub for countless businesses, maintaining a brand identity becomes a necessity. Business industries in the UAE are growing at a rapid pace. As a result, many new organisations come into existence every day.
This keeps the competition increasing too. So, maintaining a unique brand identity to differentiate from other is mandatory in Dubai and other parts of UAE.
A custom software Development Company makes sure that the client gets a personalised solution that resonates with his/her brand. Matching the colors, logos, tag lines and more remains the chief concern of the development company. This way, custom-built products help a business maintain its brand image.
Get a Personalised Solution, Learn Less, and Work More!
Technology is not a child’s play and is ever evolving. May be, you as an entrepreneur have enough caliber to adapt technological advancements peacefully. But, it may not be the case with everyone in your organisation.
Learning to operate an advanced software product like Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, Jira, Trello and many more can be a complex task. Also, your employees might be reluctant to adapt. However, if you choose custom development, you have the golden opportunity to get a Minimum Viable Product.
If you need basic automation system, plan your own features, functions and UI design. Then, approach any bespoke software development company in Dubai. It will definitely help you in getting a simple design. When you know what features you have demanded, it will be easier to learn and adapt.
Let the User Interface Adapt to Your Ideation
As discussed above, in case of a on-the-shelf software products, you will need to learn its features. Also, since technology is dynamic, it upgrades at a rapid pace. Till the time you get comfortable with certain set of features, soon another set of features is on the way.
On the contrary, in case of tailored software solutions, you as the client play a vital role in software prototyping. A prototype is the 2D model of the finished product. Simply put, it will be a photographic ‘sketch’ of your software prepared before delivery of the final product.
At the prototyping stage, you will have the power of guiding the graphic designing team. Also, you will be able to introduce changes if you don’t like the look and feel. This way, you will not, but the software product will adapt to your needs!
Ditch the Hefty Subscriptions, One Software, A Thousand Solutions!
Like already discussed, the ready to use software products often come from countries having a higher currency than ours. Resultantly, the subscriptions cost higher to us.
Now let’s consider a scenario. You are a mid-sized organisation that needs HRM, CRM, Task Management, ERP and Marketing automation services. Are your really going to buy a different subscription for each?
Remembering passwords, renewing subscriptions, and maintaining these many software products! Woh! May be you need to hire a dedicated employee for this job!
Jokes apart, it is never feasible to buy multiple subscriptions for different automation services. Custom coded solutions can help here! You can approach an agency that provides custom development services and share your project requirements.
If you want more than 2 functions in a single software product, certainly the software engineers will provide you with the same. However, remember, more functions, higher the cost! The budget-friendliness rule does not apply in this case.
Hold Your Business Data Close to Your Chest Custom Software
Furthermore, when you have an exclusive software product for your organisation, you are not sharing your data with the third-parties. Eventually, your business data, sensitive customer information and valuable financial details are not vulnerable to stealth by a third-party.
Therefore, choosing a customised software product for your business also ensures higher data security. You can ask the development firm if it provides GDPR-compliant, strongly encrypted and cyber-secure solution. And if yes, go ahead. Take a step forward towards a more secure software solution.
Are Pre-Made Software Products Not Good Enough?
Does this discussion intend that pre-made software products are not suitable for an organisation? Well, we do not mean that at all. Ready-to-use software solutions have their own pros. However, it is a matter of practicability. Let’s say if you are:
A large scale organisation with a huge user-base, certainly pre-built software solutions managed and owned by renowned organisations can fit your requirements.
If you need an advanced product, then custom software development might burn a hole in your pocket. In such cases, buying subscription will help you better.
Similarly, if your budget is limited and does not allow you to hire custom software developers in Dubai, then keeping the body and soul of your digital needs together with subscriptions is a better idea.
Contrastingly, if budget is not a constraint for you and you don’t mind paying a hefty subscription fee every month, then go ahead with the pre-made software products without a second thought.
If you are not willing to wait for a couple of months to get an exclusive product, or you wish to have a ‘stepney’ until you get your exclusive product done, Pre-made software products are a great option.
Concluding Remarks
The above discussion throws light on the fact that both custom software products and pre-made ones have own advantages and disadvantages. However, custom-built products come with various benefits and exclusivity. Making a choice is totally your free will. If need a more controlled, personalized and bespoke software product, then choose Custom Web solutions.
On the contrary, if you are okay with the advanced ready-to-use products, choose them. It purely depends upon your organisational size, scale, user base and requirements. All the best for making the right decision.

personal context/ intro
I've always marveled at people who can work in cafes as music rains down at full volume from the speakers above, and people walk around them on all sides, as though they possess a capacity to work through distraction that I don't possess.
For years now, I have been sensitive to background noise--in particular music--to a degree I rarely encounter in anyone else, and to a degree which probably qualifies as obsessive. In fact, for a few years as a child, I had symptoms of OCD which required that I hop back and forth between doorways a number of times, count to certain numbers over and over in certain circumstances, touch or pat parts of my body in certain patterns, rehearse or recite certain strings of words a number of times, or arrange objects in a certain way as i fell asleep. Around the age of 11 or 12, these symptoms started to ebb, but perhaps its the case that such things never entirely disappear, but simply go subterranean, and reappear later in life in different guises.
Whatever the explanation, starting around the time I moved to San Francisco in my early twenties, I became particularly obsessive about background music. It seemed that inside the city, there was literally, virtually nowhere to escape hearing someone else's music. I lived with six roommates in a Victorian at the southern edge of the Mission, on San Jose Ave, just before it merged with Mission st. In the Safeway parking lot below my window, and on the busy streets below, I heard the sounds of traffic flowing past at all hours, along with the attendant musics coming from car windows. Many times, I would be made aware of the existence of new pop songs by artists I followed not by seeing updates online but by hearing unfamiliar songs streaming past by window from cars on the street below.
This, mind you, was my home base, where I had the most control over what sounds I heard or didn't. If I left my apartment and ventured into the Mission district and the city beyond, it only got louder in any direction I went. Every cafe I went to in the Mission--whether it was hipster, corporate, or mom-and-pop--blared loud music, some of them loud enough that I got the sense they were intentionally trying to drive their customers away. And in each cafe I went to, I found sober-faced, serious people sitting before their laptops apparently entirely focused on the tasks before them.
Parks and libraries within the city were not dependably better than the cafes when it came to finding quiet places to decompress from the noise or focus. Dolores park, just a few blocks away in the Mission, usually contained at least a couple groups or individuals who had brought a portable speaker to the park to play music for themselves or, perhaps, all park goers. Whatever their intention, it was rare to go to the park and not hear the bleed of at least one house beat pulsing in your ear--more commonly to hear the bleed of 2 or 3 or several speakers asynchronously beating at once.
Golden Gate Park, one of the largest urban parks in North America, with miles of rolling fields and paths that lead to the Pacific Ocean, was also frequently inundated by corporate social events. Hellman's Hollow, my favorite zone of the park--a vast, lush, green with cypress trees bordering it on all directions, the west end of which spilled onto an old, vacant horse racing track where bikers and hikers still did laps--more and more frequently played host to Salesforce, Facebook, and other corporate groups playing sloshball all afternoon. During these events, the group would set up concert grade PA systems and blast a kind of anodyne house music that ranged throughout the entire park.
The public libraries of San Francisco--like many public libraries across the U.S.--were also rarely a reprieve of quiet. Instead, they acted as the unofficial home of city's transient population, a place to wash up, charge up one's phone or electronics, socialize, get out from the elements. Whether the public library downtown in civic center or the mission branch, the sounds of the city had infiltrated the library. Conversations, music, the sounds of the bathroom, washing up, and taking care of hygiene.
*
In each of these places, I sought a place to focus. I was dogged by the sense, throughout my twenties, specifically in San Francisco, that if only I could find a place of quiet in which I could focus, then I could finally write something. I didn't know what it was I wanted to write, I only knew that I wouldn't be able to write it until I found a place quiet enough to write it.
In five years in San Francisco, I never found that place. Nor did I ever write anything. I recognized then, as I recognize now, that there were other reasons for my not writing anything during that time. Nevertheless, I felt then--as I still feel now--that the attendant noise of the city remained an intimate part of my not being able to write.
And so, after five years, I left for what I hoped would be quieter realms. At the time, my father lived alone with a disease which was slowly robbing him of his memory, his mobility, and his mental faculties. He was still at the earlier phases, having only been diagnosed the year before. He could still walk, could still talk, could still prepare himself food. But he couldn't drive, couldn't use a computer, had very little short term memory, couldn't oversee his finances, and still needed help with an innumerable amount of small tasks that couldn't be foreseen until faced.
I calculated that I could move out to the Central Valley to be with him while also seeking the relative quiet from the city that I sought. Two birds with one stone. While living with my father, I would both help him by driving him to doctor's appointments, driving him to the grocery store, and helping him with the innumerable small tasks that arose with his situation, while also stealing away from the city the necessary quiet time and focus, free of noise and distraction. By this time, too, I had enrolled in an MA program in literature and had a final thesis to write--that is, I had a specific project to focus on.
Instead of perfect quiet, I found a different world of noises to contend with. There was far less traffic in the space immediately surrounding my father's home, but my father's home itself was a world of noise. Specifically my father's home was filled with the noise of his television. Without work or anywhere to be, without any specific hobbies to cultivate, without the ability to drive anywhere, and with his mental faculties declining, my father spent most of his time watching television. In the morning he would wake up and the first thing he would do would be to check the news stations--usually CNN and MSNBC--and at night, the last thing he would do before falling asleep would be to once again watch the news. Often, he would fall asleep on the couch, with the television still on. And just as frequently, with his circadian rhythm disrupted, he would rise in the middle of the night and go to the living room and--once again--turn on the television. Thus, there was literally no hour of the day in which I was spared the sounds of the television, one-third of which was the sound of advertisements.
*
I would argue that the issue of background music is not negligible as it may at first seem, and that in fact it's status as "background" disguises the pervasiveness of its shaping influence in urban life. Far from being a trifling, background, or irrelevant issue, background music is one of the most pervasive examples of the extent to which capitalism pervades and pollutes the atmosphere, and manipulates the texture of our day to day existence.
*
I've long assumed the problem lies within myself, and still do, to a certain extent. In all of these places I've mentioned there are usually dozens of people seemingly happily working away, despite what seems to me to be an intolerable amount of noise. For this reason, I often feel like I'm living in a different world than everyone else, one in which the loud music I encounter in so many places is like a physical object in the room which only I can see, but which remains invisible to everyone else.
*
I've contended with some of the lessons of Buddhism on this topic. Some Buddhist writers and thinkers would have me paying closer attention to these noises and songs which so distrurb me and irk me. John Cage, for example, himself apparently a follower of Zen Buddhism, has written, "Noise is all around us. When we ignore it, it bothers us. When we pay attention to it, it is music."
A long line of sonic thinkers, from Pauline Oliveros to R Murray Schaefer, invite us to pay closer attention to our sonic world. Cage, Schaefer, and Oliveros, together with some of the principles of Buddhism would preach that I pay closer attention to the sonic world around me, especially those sounds and musics which bother me.
On the one hand, on some level, I believe in this trinity of thinkers and Zen Buddhism, and believe that if I only payed closer attention, I would learn to be at peace with the music.
On the other hand, there seems to me to be something obviously wrong with this premise. The noise and music I most purposefully avoid--background pop music, advertisements, sensationalist news items--
The worlds which Oliveros, Schaefer, Cage, and Buddhism generally invite us to pay closer attention to are worlds curiously free of background music and advertisements. Even the online sound map radio aporee, which collects sounds from users all over the world, does not allow uploads of copyrighted material--filtering out the background music and pop music which makes up the sonic environment the world over, and presenting an image of the world which is idyllically free of such things. Some literature--but not all--likewise filters out brand names and the names of pop songs from descriptions of the world of the literature, likewise presenting a world cleansed of ads and pop music and news items. Finally, if there are any meditation retreats which put beneath the noses of meditators the sounds of grocery store pop music, salacious news items, and nonstop advertisements, I have yet to hear of this program.
As extreme or cartoonish as this example may seem to be, this seems to be closer to the earnest state of things, a better practice for the challenge of living in a modern urban environment. It is one thing to be able to secure peace of mind in a protected silent space. But how does one maintain one's sanity once thrust back in the noise of the world? (Also seems to be a class problem: it is the rich who can afford to retreat to the secluded places in the urban environments, the proverbial hills above the city, while the great majority are forced to live amongst the noise of one another, in apartment complexes, on the streets. While I was living in San Francisco, for example, an article was passed around which proclaimed that leaf blowers were a serious problem and nuisance amongst those living in Orinda, a place where the rich live in seclusion in the hills. The article was passed around amongst city goers as a piece of comedy, suggesting how out of touch the rich are that their greatest problem are the existence of leaf blowers. However the article touches on something very real: which is the right of the moneyed to avoid the noise of everyday life, the noise which the less moneyed are forced to live amongst themselves, to inflict one another. The rich, in their hills, gift one another space and relative quiet, gifts which all deserve but few can afford. Meanwhile, down in the chaotic city, the less-rich inflict their noise on one another like germs.
*
What would it mean to play closer sonic attention to a sound world polluted with pop music, advertisements, short videos, and news items? What would it mean to "meditate" on advertisements? Would such a meditation allow one transcend and rise above the manipulations of said advertisement? Or would giving one's complete focus over to an advertisement mean acquiescing completely to its demands and suggestions? Capitulating?
*
I propose that in a late capitalist society, whatever a product's intention, everything is subsumed by the logic of the advertisement, and in a sense, everything becomes an advertisement, and there is nothing which exists outside or beyond the logic of the advertisement. A Guide to Apex Triggers in Salesforce
What are Triggers in Salesforce?
Triggers are known as Apex Triggers in Salesforce. These are unique and offered for typical and anticipated behaviors such as lead conversions.
There are primarily two types of Apex Triggers:
Before Trigger: Before a record is saved into the database, this kind of Salesforce trigger is used to update or verify its values. Therefore, the record is validated by the before trigger before being saved. Data can be checked using certain codes or criteria before being added to the database.
After Trigger: In Salesforce, this kind of trigger is used to access the system-set field values and influence record modifications. Stated differently, the data entered in another record is modified by the after trigger.
Bulky Triggers
By default, all triggers in Salesforce are heavyweight triggers, meaning that you can process several records simultaneously. In addition to handling bulk operations, bulky triggers can handle the following single-record updates:
Importing data
Mass actions
Bulk API calls
Recursive Apex methods and triggers invoke bulk DML statements
Trigger Syntax
For a trigger, the syntax is simple. First, let's examine its fundamental syntax, which is provided below:
trigger triggerName on Objectname(trigger_events)
{
//code_block
}
Let’s now discuss the various keywords used in the syntax:
After deletion: When utilizing this event, a record can be deleted following the code block's execution. When a record sent to the recycle bin wants to be restored, this event is used after the delete operation.
For example:
You may learn how to construct an object and a trigger in Salesforce by referring to the following code.
trigger tname on contact(before insert)
{ contact c = new contact();
if (c.email==null)
}
Learn about configuring, pricing, and quoting in our blog on Salesforce CPQ!
Types of Triggers
Triggers come in two varieties, which are described below:
Prior to Triggers: Prior to Before records are added, changed, or removed, triggers are used to carry out certain operations. This kind of trigger allows record values to be modified or verified prior to being stored to the database.
Following Triggers: Triggers are employed when data from the Salesforce system has to be utilized or updated in additional records that must be created. Read-only records are those that set off this kind of trigger.
Writing Apex Triggers
Custom actions can be carried out before or after events to Salesforce records using Apex Triggers. Updates, removals, and insertions are examples of these operations. Apex supports triggers in the context of records management.
Usually, triggers are used to carry out actions based on predetermined circumstances, such as changing associated records or preventing the execution of particular activities. Anything that can be done with Apex can be done using triggers, including invoking custom Apex methods and running DML and SOQL.
Tasks that cannot be completed with the point-and-click features in the Salesforce UI can be completed with triggers.
Top-level standard objects like contacts, accounts, custom objects, and certain standard child items can all have triggers configured for them. Triggers are active when they are created.
What are context variables in triggers?
Salesforce triggers all determine implicit variables, which allow developers to access the runtime context without having to define objects themselves. Context variables are utilized to retrieve the records that set off the trigger.
Using Trigger Exceptions
Certain database procedures may occasionally require the addition of constraints. Triggers can be used by executing the 'addError()' method on a record or field to stop DML actions from happening. When triggers are utilized on Trigger, an application-side error message is shown and recorded.new records in triggers that are updated and inserted, and old records in triggers that are deleted.
Response times are shortened when mistakes are added to prior triggers.
Using the "addError()" method, a subset of the records that are being processed can be marked:
The entire operation will reverse with a single error if the trigger was created by an Apex DML statement. However, every record in the operation is still processed by the runtime engine.
Triggers in Salesforce Vs. Workflows in Salesforce
Salesforce Workflows were covered in our earlier section. It's possible that you will confuse Salesforce triggers with workflows when you are learning about triggers.
Allow me to resolve this for you. It makes sense that there would be a significant distinction between the two products if Salesforce had developed them independently. What's the difference now?
Workflow for Salesforce:
This automated procedure has the ability to trigger an action based on rule criteria and evaluation results. It is not feasible to carry out DML activities within the workflow. A workflow over an item can be obtained. A query cannot be created from the database.
Salesforce Trigger:
It is a segment of code that is run either prior to or following the updating or addition of a record.One trigger can require more than fifteen DML operations.A trigger can use more than 20 SOQLs from the database.Triggers relating to and across an object are accessible.
Limitations of Salesforce Trigger Workflows Overcome
A distinct item cannot be created or updated by a workflow. When using workflows, there are several fields that you cannot refer to.Your workflow will consist solely of field updates and email processing.
Trigger Scenarios in Salesforce
You will now see three trigger scenarios in Salesforce.
Trigger Scenario 1
The following code will prevent users from creating duplicate accounts with the same names:
trigger AccountDuplicateTrigger on Account (before insert, before update) {
for (Account a : Trigger.new) {
List existingAccounts = [SELECT Id FROM Account WHERE Name = :a.Name AND Rating = :a.Rating];
if (!existingAccounts.isEmpty()) {
a.Name.addError('You cannot create a duplicate Account.');
}
}
}
Trigger Scenario 2
The code mentioned below will add the prefix ‘Dr.’ to all lead names whenever a record is updated or inserted:
trigger PrefixDoctor on Lead (before insert, before update) {
List leadList = Trigger.new;
for (Lead l : leadList) {
l.FirstName = 'Dr.' + l.FirstName;
}
}
Trigger Scenario 3
The following trigger code will stop users from deleting an account, as only the System Administrator has all permissions:
trigger AccountDelete on Account (before delete) {
for (Account acc : Trigger.old) {
acc.addError('You cannot delete the Account record.');
}
}

What is a recursive trigger and how to avoid it?
An infinite loop is produced by a recursive trigger, which is when the execution of one trigger causes the same trigger to be triggered again.
You can adhere to a few guidelines to prevent this.
First, check your trigger logic for any possible recursive situations.
Second, to monitor trigger execution and stop retriggering, utilize static variables or flags. Last but not least, to reduce the likelihood of repetitive calls, make sure the trigger is built to handle massive data processing.
You can effectively prevent recursive triggers by putting these safeguards into practice.
What is a Bulkifying Trigger?
Both one record and thousands of records should be handled by a trigger. When managing bullying triggers, it's crucial to remember these two things:
Create triggers that operate on groups of items.Create triggers that carry out DML and SOQL tasks with efficiency.
If the aforementioned guideline is not followed, utilizing a data loader or other tool to generate, edit, or remove entries in bulk could result in a governor limit.
Conclusion
All of this has to do with Salesforce triggers. I hope it was helpful and that it provided you with a clear understanding of what a Salesforce trigger is. The material on Salesforce Lightning will be covered in the upcoming session. Keep checking back!

Salesforce Campaigns
What are Salesforce Campaigns
A Salesforce Campaign is a group of Leads and Contacts presented to specific advertising communication(s).
It stores important performance metrics and furnishes salespeople with a list of customers and prospects that got marketing action. Salesforce Campaigns are a standard Salesforce object that is incorporated for each Salesforce customer.
Instructions to Create a Campaign
In the Campaigns tab, click New.
Enter names for the campaign.
Select the type of campaign, such as advertisement, email, webinar, conference, etc.
Select a status for the campaign from the drop down
For present, enter an estimate for Budgeted Cost and Expected Revenue from the campaign.
Enter a description of your campaign
Click on Save.
Campaign Hierarchies
To organize campaigns and connect them together, you can associate them with parent and child relationships in a campaign hierarchy. When you run the reports, metrics from child campaigns roll up to the parent.
Create a new campaign or open the campaign record of a campaign that you want to make as a child. In the Parent Campaign field, choose the campaign that you want to use as the parent.
Instructions to Work Campaign Members
A Campaign Member portrays the relationship between a single Lead or Contact and a particular Salesforce Campaign, and it tracks the change in this relationship over time.
Two statuses are automatically set up for every campaign i.e., Sent and Responded.
For each campaign, you can add your own statuses and apply them as required to each campaign member.
Additionally, for each individual campaign, you set a default status
Also,you can add campaign members from the Campaign Members related list on the campaign
Tracking Campaign Field History
You can follow the progressions made to chosen fields on the campaign. Each time a user changes a following field, the date, time, user, and changes show up in the related list.
From the object management settings for campaigns,
Select Fields & Relationships.
Click on Set Tracking History.
Enable Campaign Field History checkbox
Choose the fields that you want to monitor, and then save your work.
Now in Page Layouts for the campaign object,add the Campaign Field History related list.
Campaign Record Types
As you get more granular and create many more campaigns you can consider utilising record types.
Record Types are an approach of grouping many records for one sort for that object as these records have so much in common. Record Types permits you to have a different page layout, with different fields, required or not, and also with various picklist values.

I have worked at my company for almost four months and in the time I was experienced my first software migration, from Jira to SalesForce. The migration to SalesForce has saved us a few steps and the made the updates more accessible and readible for the company. It also connects the parent and child case automatically, which makes it easier to review cases for any updates missed or due dates to be mindful of. And of course, they prepared us with training and knowledge articles.
I will say that the my company really showed great design leadership skills by developing a thorough plan with migrating everything from Jira to SaleForce. They prepared directors and managers with the knowledge they needed to share with their teams, as well as, ensuring the migration would meet the expectations of each team. They prepare effected training materials and remained accessible and flexible to any concerns or questions we had.
