i see his love language being words of affirmation. he constantly wants to remind you how much he loves you, and likes the favour returned, but doesn't get butt hurt when you're not as intense as him. he's tries his best to refrain it but.... oh he loves you too much

you hate to admit it, but you like it when he's clingy. because on the days and weeks where he's too busy making his movies, he can't spend as much time with you (hence why he always wants you starring in them)

so when you meet him after a week of not seeing each other, and he just hugs you and splatters kisses all over your face, it makes you feel so happy.

when you don't have classes together and past each other in the corridor, you brush your hands in passing, taking in each others faces, before you have to go off again.

you love watching sam when he's concentrated. the way his lip is tight and eyes hyperfocused, it's a derpy face, but you think it's cute

he likes it when you play with his hair and sing songs softly in his ear. he thinks you have a lovely voice.

when sam is prone to have a panic attack, you're always there to comfort him. you get him a glass of water, sit with him silently and rub his back. now and then you'll say to him "everything is okay" "i love you" "i'm here for you, always". you seem to be the only person that can help him surpass it.

whenever you're having a bad day, sam knows you don't like the extravigants, so he does small things for you. when you graduate and live together, he cleans the house, does the dishes, makes the bed; and cooks your favourite meal for you coming in from work.

he'd just be an amazing partner, and you'd be high school sweethearts grown into loving, supporting relationship later in life. you're there for each other, thick and thin.

he really makes an effort, considering he seen how his parents ended up. he doesn't want the same happening to your relationship. if you were to leave, he'd have no idea what to do with himself.

No actually I am going to pick a fight, if you can only empathize with a narrative by projecting queerness on it when other axes of oppression exist, maybe work on that inside yourself instead of posting how “uwu queer” the bullies who beat Sammy Fabelman bloody and called him a k*ke and a Christ-killer were with him - things that happened to Spielberg in real life and absolutely impacted him to the point he felt ashamed of his Judaism until well into adulthood - because the fictionalized version didn’t try to get outright revenge and showed compassion. It’s incredibly offensive to people who have actually experienced antisemitism although lord knows nobody here takes that seriously as a form of oppression (and I’m also queer so don’t even fucking start.) like fucking idk fawn over cast members or something, the line is literally “you dumb antisemitic asshole”

The Fabelmans is a 2022 American film directed by Steven Spielberg.

The film is a semi-autobiographical story loosely based on Spielberg's adolescence and early years as a director. The plot is told through the original story of the fictional Sammy Fabelman, a young aspiring filmmaker who explores how the power of film can help him see the truth about his dysfunctional family and those around him. It stars Gabriel LaBelle in the role of Sammy, alongside Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Seth Rogen and Judd Hirsch in supporting roles. The film is dedicated to the memories of Spielberg's real-life parents, Leah Adler and Arnold Spielberg, who died in 2017 and 2020, respectively.

Spielberg had conceived the project as early as 1999, with his sister Anne writing a screenplay titled I'll Be Home. Spielberg revisited the project in 2019 with screenwriter and frequent collaborator Kushner while they were making West Side Story, and the script was completed in late 2020.

It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2022, where it won the People's Choice Award. Distributed by Universal Pictures, the film opened theatrically in the United States on November 11, 2022, and then expanded to wide release on November 23, grossing $45.6 million against a $40 million budget, a disappointing result for a film directed and produced by Spielberg. It received largely positive reviews from critics and was named one of the ten best films of 2022 by the National Board of Review and the American Film Institute. The Fabelmans earned numerous awards and nominations, including seven nominations at the 95th Academy Awards, including seven nominations at the 95th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress (Williams) and Best Supporting Actor (Hirsch). It also earned 11 nominations at the 28th Critics' Choice Awards, winning Best Young Performer (LaBelle), and five nominations at the 80th Golden Globe Awards, winning Best Motion Picture - Drama and Best Director.
