Amigurumi Samurai Flamingo and Kiwi Goto, based on @vysperation's incredible original designs (seen on the zipper pouch in the top pic).

Shortly before the pandemic, I started getting back into crochet, and when I saw Red Heart's crochet flamingo kit, I couldn't help myself. Masamingo uses the kit's pattern (free download here), but made double size, with some additions to better approximate Vy's design. For instance, I did two layers of wings to give the impression of bigger, fuller wings (and add the black feathers) , and I'm almost 100% sure the white face was a separate piece I sewed onto the pink base. Kiwi Goto...I just kind of figured out as I went. (He's all simple shapes and pipe cleaner, but I am still proud the hat worked.)

Trafalgar Law and Reader Part five.

"Then why did you stay behind?"

"I didn't want to risk missing anything until we got back here. The agreement with Chiaki is that I explore the island but don't do anything that could put me in too much danger. Arianna explained to me what course I had to take from Yellowhealth to reach Punk Hazard and you already know how I ended up here".

Trafalgar Law let the new information sink in. "What exactly is the experiment you heard about?" He needed to find out how much you and your crew knew in order to estimate how much he could trust you some information of his own.

"Nah, it's your turn to answer my questions." Trafalgar made an annoyed face on which you paid no further attention. "Why are you here?" His grey eyes pierced your (E/C) as he answered your question directly "Because I'm here to destroy what you're here for. Artificial devil fruits".

You weren't particularly surprised, someone as smart as Law certainly had more than one reason and plan for hanging around on an island like that.

"They are sold on the black market. The man who invented them is Caesar Crown, i have to find out where he is making them." He looked at you as if you were about to give him the answer to his question, but you shook your head "I'm sorry, I don't know either. But the name that kept coming up in reference to the devil fruits was Joker."

Actually, it had always been easy for Law to hide his body language and his thoughts. He was anything but an open book. It was only for two seconds that his body tensed and the hairs on the back of his neck stood up at the mention of the name. Still, you noticed it despite the dimmed lights. "You know who Joker really is, right? You know him," your weakened voice sounded soft. You had the feeling there was more to it. Trafalgar Law remained silent. He turned the chair back into its correct position and sat down on it. Resting his elbows on his knees, he folded his hands before explaining more to you. "You should know him too. Maybe even fought him two years ago at Marine Fort".

Your organs tightened at the mention of Marine Fort and your eyes narrowed briefly at the pain. Many people lost their lives in this battle, both on the Pirate and Marine sides. It was so unnecessary and in the end it was all for nothing. Firefist Ace still died on the battlefield. The man who was once your captain's captain and best friend, the man you still loved at this point.

"He is also one of the Seven Samurai of the Sea and the current King of dressrosa. Don Quichotte de Flamingo".

The face of the blonde man with the flashy glasses and clothing flashed right through your mind. In fact, you and your captain, along with Sir Crocodile, had fought him so that Luffy could get past him. Back then, one of his thread bullets had hit you in the groin and probably the others too if Chiaki hadn't neutralized them with his paramecia fruit. It was even Sir Crocodile who then catched you to prevent another shot. You automatically place your fingers to your left groin, where you were hit. Your crew's doctor had treated you after Shanks' ended the battle. De Flamingo was a strong opponent and at that time you had nothing to oppose him. Only with Sir Crocodile's distraction were you and your captain able to deliver a hard blow to his face and stomach, the image of him spitting blood and his veins on his forehead thickening and pulsating with rage was a lasting memory for you.

"Then Caesar Crown is the one who invented the artificial devil fruits while De Flamingo sells them. “That’s what it looks like, yes,but i don't know where exactly. But everything lead me to Punk Hazard for now.” confirmed Trafalgar Law. "It's important to know who Joker sells the artificial devil fruits to."

You told the black-haired man what else you knew. "If the information we have is correct, the devil fruits are Zoantypes. In the underworld we found out who Joker sells them to...he sells them to one of the four emperors.

Kaido".

"Kaido".

You said in sync. “Could it be that you already knew everything I’m telling you” more of a statement than a question.

"When you started talking about the artificial devil fruits, I thought that your knowledge reached as far as to Kaido. The man, Caesar Crown is in this factory." Trafalgar informed you about his presence on the island, he told you that he has been on Punk Hazard for a month and has more or less entered into a partnership with Ceasar. He informed you about Caesar and his abilities as well as Mone and her snow devilpowers. “So gas and snow,”

“That’s where you come in,”

“Huh?”

"You're not a logia type, but with your wind devilpowers you should actually keep Caesar's gas away from us when it comes down to it, right?"

"Yes, that shouldn't be the problem, but I can't tell you exactly how well it works until I know for myself how strong Caesar is." Trafalgar leaned back, one leg over the other and arms crossed. "That's enough for me for now. Your Dendenmushi is unable to reach your captain from here, so I would like to suggest something to you until you have the chance to contact him...-"

"Who says I can't reach him?" Law raised an eyebrow "Because this is a baby den mushi. They only work internally".

"Not this one" you said and held two small black antennas in your hand that you had pulled out of your belt. "You put it on the Dendenmushi and then it has a much greater range...but the connection isn't always the best." "Interesting. Where did you get that?" the black-haired one was actually curious. “Three of our crew have been working on it but it’s not quite perfect yet.” "Anyway," Trafalgar began again, "a new age of pirates has arrived and something has to change. I'm here because I have a plan and I want to defeat one of the four emperor." "Let me guess, Kaido" "Exactly.

Sooner or later it will come down to joining one of the emperors if you want to achieve something in the New World. Either that or you defeat one of the most powerful pirates. That's a big deal. I could use some support. I don't think Chiaki likes to be given orders and wants to join one of their crews and that's why I'm proposing an alliance to you and your crew." “An alliance to overthrow Kaido” a wry smile appeared on your lips “How good that our captain has the same plan”.

⌚️ How old were they when they entered the vault? Were they born in there? Or alternatively, are they from Vault 76 at all? (if not, where are they from and how did they end up in West Virginia?)

Jeff is not from Vault 76, nor is he a vault dweller whatsoever. He was born in West Virginia to parents who were a part of the Appalachian Free States. However, he did experience life underground when he was around 8 years old.

Brian 🦩

Jeff met Brian at one of the lowest moments of his life. He was still trying to make sense of everything following his disastrous new beginning, all while trying to stay alive. 

Rather than choosing to live a somewhat peaceful life on the cliffs between Slocum's Joe and Arktos Pharma, Jeff left the safe haven that he built for himself and continued on his adventure.

Wilson Brother's Auto Repair became his temporary home base while on the road. And all was going well enough until the night when scorched hordes surrounded the building. 

Panicked, Jeff grabbed the rifle that he picked up in Berkeley Springs and commanded a lone plastic flamingo to keep an eye on the garage. In the same moment, he gave the flamingo a name: Brian.

Together, Jeff and Brian managed to fight off the scorched and save the garage; but, Jeff wasn't ready to face another horde at this point. So, the pair packed up everything and left, searching for another place to call home. 

Today, Jeff and his best friend Brian are constantly building/rebuilding, helping others, and going on adventures together. Their recent trip to Nuka-World on Tour (pictured below) was so much fun! 

Brian would tell you that along with being Jeff's most powerful ally, he is also the CEO and acting secretary of the Jeff Stone Complaint Department™️

⭐️ The Free States?

Jeff was just a child amidst the growing tension between his extended family and most everyone. He would hear whispers of treachery and scandal and notice the accusatory stares coming from his neighbors. Much of this was beyond him at the time, yet still managed to upset him. 

With said tension and the threat of war becoming more of a reality with each passing day, the Free States sheltered underground. They remained there until it was finally safe to re-emerge and rebuild again. 

Post-war, Jeff was able to experience something that could resemble normalcy. The Free States made their home in Harpers Ferry and offered assistance to other survivors and their factions. Unfortunately, all of their efforts would come to an end with the emergence of scorchbeasts and the plague that ultimately spread throughout The Mire and beyond.

Jeff lost his mother and father, his extended family and friends. He was among few survivors of the scorched attacks and felt tremendous guilt because of it. 

(Not so much related to the Free States, but the following is for you, @jonnyonearth ❤️)

Jeff carried his guilt with him as he traveled across the map in search of folks like himself and safety. It was a difficult journey, but he was able to eventually find both of those things in the Forest–and yet his new beginning almost ended before it even started.

Jeff started to understand the Free States through holotapes, notes, and hushed stories shared over drinks. Among his personal belongings are Free States items that he has collected over the years. 💙

3 ships: Pretty much any combo of poly!TOG (and especially Nile/Booker/Nicky/Joe and/or Nile/Andy/Quynh), Stede Bonnet/Izzy Hands/Edward Teach, Derek/Stiles, and just a whole mishmash of MCU related ships.

1st ship: Much like Possum, I'm pretty sure it was something from Inyusha, but boy did I go HARD for the ideas of the fellas in the animated Saiyuki Reload series going for it or the same thing for the three main protagonists in Samurai Champloo. (This is really starting to make me realize poly ships have been in my heart for a WHILE.)

Last song: "Young, Gifted, Black, In Leather" by Special Interest. (It's fantastic and I dearly want to write some BAMF Nile Freeman based on it.❤ )

Last movie: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; Mutant Mayhem. (Can not recommend watching this enough, and it's got some absolutely beautiful art work and hilarious moments stuffed in there.)

Currently watching: Insatiable. (I'm feelin' a little Eh about it, but I've been yearning for a little more Debby Ryan since Night Teeth came out.)

Currently consuming: Water, some almost excessively sour cranberry juice and some of the leftover pasta and new spice mix that I used last night. (Holy Duck's Typhoon Shelter Sum Sum Seasoning will absolutely change your life if you're interested in getting your hands on it, and their chili oils also look bomb as fuck with some of the best looking packaging that I've ever seen.)

Currently craving: To watch the very funny Joy Ride again and like a peanut butter-y type of tiramisu dessert. Honestly, peanut butter on a very crisp stalk of celery or peanut butter and kaya spread on toast would probably also do it.

the version of this post going around with recommendations on it are not even remotely the kind of movies im talking about. all of those are pretty mainstream and/or bad. like not in a funny haha way. like a regular ass way. if you want a bad star wars knock off you want "dünyayı kurtaran adam". if you want an actual surrealist movie you can start with holy mountain. i was talking about movies like "electric dragon 80000v" or movies that were banned upon release like "pink flamingos" or "peeping tom". if you want a weird gross contemporary movie, watch "the greasy strangler". please do not watch a movie that is crowdfunded lol. please do not watch "rubber" because someone told you that it's good. its not. go watch an old movie you've never heard of with a boring cover from the criterion collection. go watch a kurosawa samurai movie. watch a BAFTA winner from before 1980. watch one of the 800000 japanese B-films about yokai that have batshit crazy special effects.
