glokta's inner monologue is so fascinating to me. half of the time he's staring down the barrel of a gun, waiting for the other shoe to drop, fully expecting to meet his end around every corner. anticipating his own death with all the fervor of a man who has known nothing but self-loathing and betrayal for years. the other half of the time he's being a nasty little hater. I love it.

Reading the series for the first time (just finished LAOK!) and this is the bulk of what I've learned, I think. That and Bayaz is a slimy, miserable little man.

The new Glokta POV in The Great Change (and Other Stories) is genuinely, actually stupid cute. Sand dan Glokta. Being cute. Damn it Abercrombie, stop making me feel things!!

so uh this week i read the first law trilogy and now, after meeting sand dan glokta, i can't stop thinking about theon's life after ramsay, if he survives. i had never thought that much about it, but now that i've read a pov character whose past resembles theon's present quite a bit, i can't stop wondering what his life could look like. i mean i don't think he's going to become a torturer like glokta, but it's more about how theon will handle living in pain the rest of his life (however long it may be), how it will affect his personality in the future and everything. also sand dan glokta is a really funny well-written character, reading the first law is worth it just for him (i liked the books as a whole but he was my favorite!!)

he could find my body floating by the docks anyway. if it's not clear, i'm deeply, deeply envious of ardee. glokta is my baby. glokta is my darling. glokta is the man i will cry over forever because he's not real.

he's disabled. he has chronic pain. he hates oatmeal. he tortures people for a living. he hates stairs. he believes that any day now he's going to be betrayed and killed by his boss. he laughed harder than he ever had in his life watching some guy get his ass beat at a sporting event. he thinks all of his friends abandoned him and the minute he realized that one (1) guy had tried to visit him he reconstructed his entire worldview. he's sand dan glokta and i can't stop thinking about him.
