I feel like "I don't like sand" has become such a meme that people forget its original context, not just in terms of what it actually says about Anakin as a character, but also in that I see people talking about it like Anakin just brings it up out of nowhere, when in fact the previous line in the scene is Padmé talking about lying on the sand at the beach.

So I got my dad into Naruto when I was 12. He agrees that Gaara is a cinnamon roll. Dad was trying to come up with some way to describe how Gaara was before Naruto came into his life. I told him that Gaara is still a cinnamon roll but that someone got the recipe wrong and used cayenne instead of cinnamon and way too much salt. Dad liked that description.

Like, when in the books has he ever been hostile towards a woman because they've refused to have sex with him??? When in the books has he even tried to have sex with a woman? Like, if you want to argue that he has internalized misogyny because of his beauty standards thing, sure- I'll hear you out- but incel is a very specific brand of misogyny and it is pure headcanon if you want to call him that

And I kept seeing people bring up the getting black listed by matchmakers thing as proof he's an incel and like??? You know there's more possibilities for why he'd be undatable than just "being an incel," right? Like, maybe he's just loud and angry. Maybe he just jumps to conclusions during arguments. Maybe he just doesn't know how to drop grievances. Maybe he's just an equal opportunity asshole. Or maybe he's just an emotional constipated stick-in-the-mud. The possibilities are endless and acting like "he's an incel" is the canon answer is just clown behavior

I'm fully anticipating Top will take out his misplaced anger on Sand next episode. If he gets even an inkling that Ray and Sand have something going on, he's gonna do whatever he can to f it up. First, because he's sad. Second, because he can. And third, because why wouldn't he want to ruin Ray's romantic prospects when Ray is (supposedly) partly responsible for ruining his with Mew?

^Also, this line could prove the "Top stole Sand's ex away from him" speculation, in which case, Top definitely knows how to push Sand's buttons.

In @ikroah #20, Julie Farkas had asked Agnes Sands and Cass to stop a dealer named Dixon from selling drugs to the Old Mormon Fort's rehab patients. When Agnes and Cass couldn't just convince Dixon to stop, a fight ensued in which Agnes and Cass killed Dixon. When they relay this information to Julie, Julie snaps at the two of them and expels them from the Old Mormon Fort.

Agnes and Cass argue that there was no way to stop Dixon besides killing him (debatable). Arcade Gannon, also present, chimes in and claims that an alternative option, such as paying Dixon off, would have stretched the Followers of the Apocalypse's thin budget and only encouraged even more bad actors to take advantage of the Followers' altruism. Still, by her own admission, Agnes was the one who escalated the initial confrontation.

Julie's reason for being angry, however, is that she quite simply did not hire Agnes and Cass as assassins. In her view, killing Dixon "for" the Followers of the Apocalypse not only was not what she asked them to do, but it mars the Followers' altruistic reputation. It is important to her that anybody can turn to them in their time of need. If you were her, would you want people coming to the Followers and asking you to kill somebody? Would you want people being afraid of coming to the Followers in case they do kill somebody? The last thing that she wants to do is contribute to even more instability and paranoia among the destitute people of Freeside. And yes, this differs from her characterization in the original game, so please only interpret this by the context that the comic provides.

It's a nuanced and complicated issue comprised of practical concerns, personal feelings, and regrettable mistakes that resulted in permanent consequences.

i think what pisses me off the most about all of this, is that even if Forever does get arrested for being a pedo, which he won't cause this will blow over in a week considering some of y'all attention spans, that it took one post. ONE POST. A tweet of u must. From some anon to accuse him of being that. That's all it takes on the internet? Just one post. It happens Everytime, everyone always jumps on it because they are afraid of being accused of supporting xy and z and then just turn.

Hiiii I’m sorry if this is weird. It’s a little personal, but not all that much, I promise.

Im neurodivergent (probably autistic) and I take a lot of comfort in Whump and stuff like that, but a part of me feels a little guilty. My folks are Mormon, and I grew up that way (no longer practicing), which I guess contributes to that guilt.

I’ve experienced some awful shit in the past, and Whump brings me a lot of comfort. My question for you is:

Is that okay? Am I weird?

You're absolutely fine, love. Weird? Possibly. Weird is just abnormal, and whump is.

But bad? Absolutely not.

I grew up in a very strict, perfect christian home, though I still practice. I loved whump from the time I was a literal toddler, and when I found this community it brought me so much relief. That I wasn't just this freak and completely alone.

The more comfortable I get with this content and my place in it as a creator, the more comfortable I've gotten with telling other people. And let me tell you, I was terrified to tell my counselor about it.

I did anyway, and every single therapist and counselor I've had in the past 4 years has told me that it sounds like a wonderful way to process out ambient anxiety and past traumas in a safe and controlled space.

I think it's a wonderful thing, and I'm really glad you're here. 🥰

The way people talk about the fight against puritanical censorship and respectability is honestly concerning. You understand the tolerance paradox when it comes to things like bigotry but not this. Yes, you do have to disallow some people from your community. So no, it's not puritanical to not want to interact with people who jerk off to drawings/fiction of animals, children, child/adult relationships, incest, etc. I don't give a shit if someone likes bdsm or has a foot fetish or whatever. There are a lot of kinks that gross me out but I have no moral objection to. This is not about things that seem gross. This is about things that are explicitly wrong. Things like adult/child relationships in fiction can and have groomed children to think that is normal, from experience. A lot of people on here are not living in reality. I promise you, AO3 is not the last bastion of Free Speech. Grow up

Ngl tho I've never been to any of the so-called modwestern "beaches." I still stand by my theory that the reason yall call them beaches and not "lake shores" or "lake beaches" or "the lake" (like a normal person) is bc yall want the Midwest to be interesting. At least in iowa. This state is soooo boooorrrrrinnnnngggggg. I have to leave the state to do anything fun! Which isn't so bad when leaving the state only takes about 3-4 hours but still. Anyway, I hadn't even seen pictures of the "beaches" until today and I gotta admit they do look like beaches which is wild. So, here is what I will concede on:

The lake shores for the Great Lakes can be called beaches. River shores are NOT beaches, and lake shores for anything other than the great lakes are NOT beaches. Now, this doesn't mean that the great lake shores have the same je ne sais quoi that REAL beaches have, but I will concede the title. I was greatly underestimating the size of the great lakes
