I am still a little bit salty about how Mary and George literally glossed over George’s corruption. Why would you let out an entire possible little plot-line of George selling lands and titles in Ireland for his own personal gain. Why not use Sandie who IS from Scotland. Why not create more tension between him and his mother that way. Why no confrontation.

Seeing Debbie appreciation is so good. I never understood the hate she gets, mostly on reddit but reddit hates everyone.

lmao i can't use reddit for tv shows or media bc everyone has the dumbest takes of all time, i have to use it for other interests (mel, you have other interests??? since when????)

but yeah! i think debbie really suffered from dumbass writing at the latter end of her story. like the bones were good? the struggles made sense, the feeling that she was lost, the anger and complexes she was facing... it all makes sense! i understand what they wanted us to see. but wow, the execution was rough. there were moments where i was like WHERE IS DEBBIE??? THAT'S NOT DEBBIE??? like i couldn't see her in there. and i just wanted better for her and everything she's been through.

and lately with all the really lovely discussions about her, i am also reminded that like... she's so YOUNG. that's a little girl making her way and she's had so much that was never resolved for her. she doesn't get a lot of the same grace we often offer to other characters. there were moments in s11 especially where i was genuinely not okay with some of her behavior, but as a whole, my love for debbie (and carl, too, honestly) has really resurfaced these days! and it's been fun!
