Can someone be sapioplatonic?

Well, the way the split attraction model works is that pretty much any prefix that can be placed before -sexual or -romantic can be placed before -platonic.

However, if you want my honest opinion on the term sapioplatonic and the sapio- prefix? I think it’s ableist. Plain and simple. I’m open to debate and discussion if you want to, but overall I think that the whole concept of “intelligence”, as well as every way we measure it, is ableist. And I think “attraction to intelligence” can be so easily twisted into exclusion of the intellectually and developmentally disabled.

ok i know that the “reclamation” of the word queer is generally associated with demisexual panromantic sapioplatonic whatever crackheads but that.....doesn’t mean it’s fine to refer to such people as “queers” derogatorily .....like i thought we were supposed to be against applying that word to people as a group. and don’t think you’re being slick by calling them “kweers” either

god where do i even start with today. what a good day i had today.

it started with me getting lunch with my friend andrew! it was so nice to get the chance to talk to him after so long. he is so good. :-)

at 5:30 danny picked me up and we went to a coffee shop downtown. we spent an hour playing a word search together. at the risk of sounding sapioplatonic, i cannot begin to describe how nice it is to have a friend like danny now. his love and skill at biology...i’m so glad to have met him and know that there is a person out there similar to me, doing what i failed to accomplish. it makes me feel more secure.

after that we drove down to a park we wanted to check out but it was dark and we got some REAL REAL bad vibes so we just decided to Not do that. and i decided we should hang out on the parking garage rooftop.

hanging out with friends on a parking garage rooftop at night has always been a Thing for me. there’s just something about it. and i’m telling you, theres something transcendent about that time we spent up there, even if it was only about half an hour because the cold started getting to us.

on a blanket, staring up at the stars and pushed close to another person, shoulder to shoulder as we talked and listened to music...it feeds my soul. it fills my heart.

and then we went back to his place and watched not one, but TWO movies. the autopsy of jane doe and then train to busan. it was FANTASTIC. i was so tired but i didn’t care it was SO FUN.

something hilarious happened halfway through train to busan. this guy swung open the door and swaggered in and was like “hey!” and we were like “hey!” both figuring he was a friend of danny’s suitemates. he made it about three feet into the room before he spun around and went “OH SHIT WRONG ROOM”

a full three seconds passed after the door swung back shut before i started SCREAMING with laughter. i don’t know what it was about that encounter but it was FUCKING INCREDIBLE. it was HILARIOUS. we did Not recover.

now i am safely back in my dorm and incredibly exhausted, but i had such a good day :-) good night!
