In theory you could fit like four hand cannons on that thing and get tons of dynamic reload opportunities, but like 1: Lancer in my experience doesn't really worry that much about that sort of hyper-balance, just whether things are fun, and 2: if it's such an issue, just use Main/Aux mounts instead of flex. (Disclaimer: I am not an expert, just a confused person who never even noticed that restriction on the stortebeker and is trying to make sense of it.)

its the case that both the Stortebeker and Viceroy are built around specific community meme builds rather than the license itself that really bothers me.

The ONLY non-exotic loading melee weapon for the Stortebeker is two LL's deep in a different license. And that's not even getting into how its frame traits/passives encourage a critfish flow chart gameplay, though I concede that an uninteractive and unadapting round by round plan for your turn is a plus depending on your tastes.

Meanwhile for Viceroy, two points in the Vanguard talent (a natural conclusion for someone wanting to add the CQB tag to a launcher) completely invalidate the Gandiva's seeking and accuracy tags, and using them for the Gandiva when your mech has a heavy mount is generally a waste. Grabbing the Hammer from Caliban 1 however gives you a better DSAS that can also heavy gunner and perform the Stormbringer Javelin rocket strat as well.

tl;dr both frames are tunnel-visioned around one specific build that is 1) inflexible in its gameplay, 2) powercreeps other 1st party content massively, and 3) does not actually want to use any of the weapons from their own license.

what aerial are you building? Would you recommend her?

It's our (me and marissa build em together) sixth kit, I really liked making it a lot! She's kind of on the pricier side but @sapphic-haymaker got her for us for christmas.

I waited until we'd put together a few before doing her since she was a bit more complicated, idk your level of experience or interest.

But yes I recommend her in the general sense
