Hey! Yeah, sure!

Valeria with a Fancy!Reader

Most of what you’re wearing was probably bought by Valeria since she’s supportive like that. Whenever she sees something you might like, she’ll buy it for you, whether that be online or in a store she just so happened to walk by. The vendors likely know her by then since she does, more often than not, go out of her way to find something you might like. And when she’s operating internationally? She’ll find the fanciest clothing out there and buy it for you. And if they don’t have it in your size for whatever reason she’ll have it tailored, anything for her beloved little spouse. You don’t need to lift a finger in order to get something nice you might want.

However, if you do want to, then you can. She’s more than happy to go outside with you and look for some lovely dresses, jewelry and whatnot. Her sense of fashion isn’t that bad either, so she can advise you perfectly fine. She knows her colors and how well they would go with your skin color, your eyes and any other accessories you might want to wear. But don’t always force her to go outside just for clothes shopping, sometimes she just wants to stay inside, unwind and maybe take a nap. During those times you might not want to drag her outside too much, because no matter how much you sass her, she will always sass you back twice as bad. She also has the advantage of being very threatening when she wants to be, so don’t annoy her too much.

Valeria has quite the amount of jewelry herself, from brooches with sapphires in them, to earrings with genuine amethysts. Whatever you want, she likely has some variation of it. Since she started her business, she doesn’t always have the time to wear everything anymore, but you’re more than welcome to take whatever you want in this case. If she’s home, you might want to tell her, though, so she won’t start wondering where her necklace of real pearls has gone. As long as you return it to her, everything is alright, though. She’ll give you everything but one item in her possession: It’s a silver necklace with a locket. It doesn’t have a picture in it or anything, but it holds sentimental value to her. If you take it she’ll yell at you, but everything else is fair game.

Valeria doesn’t really wear makeup herself, she’ll just look stupid when it starts getting runny as she’s sweating. Besides, she’s here to fuck things up, not to look pretty. Valeria is a businesswoman, which means she won’t do much paperwork, that’s for her lackeys, but instead she’ll kick ass if she needs to. Therefore, she doesn’t know too much about makeup, so you’ll have to tell her what she needs to look out for and what may look good on you. While she may know which clothing looks good on you, she’s a bit lost with makeup. If you tell her what you want, then she’ll get it for you, but she might not always go out of her way to buy some new mascara, eyeshadow or blush for you. Again, you’re better off just telling her.

As for heels and hair: You can get your hair done however you want to. While she may not particularly be helpful in that regard, aside from paying for your visits at the hairdresser, she doesn’t have the time to learn how to do your hair either. She can braid it if you want, in a simple manner, but it doesn’t really go beyond that. Heels, though, she’ll look out for what she can find. In fact, if it’s your cup of tea, she might get you a matching purse while she’s at it as well.

Again, as mentioned previously, if I were you, I wouldn’t give her too much attitude, she knows how to deal with people like that. She sees something like that as a challenge, you sass her, she’ll put you in place. She’ll be far from violent, but your cocky behavior needs to be toned down a bit, especially when she’s tired. You’ll do as she says eventually, no matter how long you resist. And when you do finally listen to her? She’ll smirk and call you out on it. It’s a game to her, and she always wins in the end. Whether she needs to trap you between the wall and her, holding your face between her thumb and index finger to guide it, or revoke any and all rights for kisses until you’re desperate for one doesn’t matter, she’ll get her way eventually.

Headcanons - From Bad Batch to “Dad” batch - padawan!Reader is a stepsister/stepbrother with Omega

Warnings: none.

Gender neutral reader, who was once a padawan, survived order 66,and now teamed up with the Bad batch. You are around the same age like Omega.

It would include:

-You met them one of their mission. First you were scared to death, and attack. But when you see that they dont fire at you, and recognize Echo (you know him) you put down your lightsaber and join them

-You and Omega don’t know how to behave with eachother: you came from SO different corners of the galaxy

-You often had nightmares about order 66, and wake up screaming, so Omega come to your bunk, and offers to share her room. It happens more and more, and you slowly become like sister/brother

-You nickname her “Omi”, and she does the same with your name

-Teach her how to be sassy (you know Master Kenobi, Skywalker and Ahsoka, they were the sassy classy assy trio), and do “crimes” together.

-When Hunter is about to scold, you flip out your tongue and so Omega too, what makes Hunter even madder at you, but he just can’t angry with these cuties

-Levitating Tech’s datapad away with the Force, so he search everywhere, but not find. You just laugh and chirp from his back

-Eat too much mantel-mix with Wrecker untill your stomach hurts

-Echo is the mommy for both of you and you cry together with Omega when he leave on Coruscant

-Often stay up late on Omega’s place to watch cartoons, funny thing Tech’s (secretly stolen) datapad. You try to remain silent but you can’t hide from Hunter’s high senses. You feel through the Force that he is coming, and pretend sleep ( during Tech still search for his datapad)

I had three instead of two this time for black sheep. This is also another resubmitted one, but I added a person.

1. Miku!Schoenheit (original one)

Miku!Schoenheit is a popular idol in the world of TWST, even being more popular than Vil and Neige due to how genuinely beloved they are and how their music fits a wide audience from kids to adults. Miku!Schoenheit does want a relationship with Vil, but only if he can get past his jealousy of them.

Miku!Schoenheit loves their siblings and often makes time to enjoy Napstablook!Schoenheit's music and even asks him if they can used his music in songs. Miku!Schoenheit also makes sure to spend plenty of time with Lisa!Schoenheit and even dedicates songs to them. Miku!Schoenheit doesn't spend as much time with Elusive!Schoenheit because they respected that the latter values his privacy, but does make sure to send little gifts to them. Miku!Schoenheit also wears a lot of EVOL!Schoenheit stuff and even promotes the brand to get their sibling out there more.

2. Venus!Diamond (original two)

Venus!Diamond is Cater's younger sibling who extremely popular on Magigram. Their popularity rivaling Vil's with how genuinely nice they even if they seem obsessed with looms and love, they tend to be very silly at times, but they could be more classy, intelligent, and serious. They actually do their best to help Yuu out whenever they can and will go out of their way to make sure Yuu doesn't pay for Ace and Deuce when they tried to blackmail Yuu into buying their food. Venus!Schoenheit flat out scolded them for trying to make Yuu pay their food and ended up buying their lunch and Yuu's lunch as well.

3. Verosika!Draconia (newest one)

Rather than stay with the Three "Good" Faes, Verosika!Draconia ended up leaving The Valley of Thorns at the same time as Older!Crowley. They abandoned their status as prince/princess/Duke because of how they were treated when they were. They blamed those faes for essentially ruining their horns which didn't completely broke off, but one of them remained shorter than the other one. They decided to pursue a career as a popstar and while they have been in plenty of drama with the help of the rest of black sheep, they began to change from their outrageous diva popstar persona into someone who genuinely cares for the others even if they don't act like it. Verosika!Draconia also teaches Yuu to be more confident and sassy with the boys whenever they start to disregard them.

Have another redesign, this time featuring the Toys! Who's nicknames are: Toy Treble Cupcake Mangle Headcanons and personalities under the cut!

Toy:

- A sassy leader, he's very protective of his crew. Feelings about the older crew are neutral, he'll warm up over time after they all get to know each other.

- Loves blues and jazz music, and can play some guitar!

- He hosts karaoke on adult nights! They're his favorite time, well next to jam time after hours.

- He can seem a little brash and sassy at first, but he means well! He tends to be a little shyer around humans, much to the other's amusement.

- Don’t squeak his nose 2 electric boogaloo.

Treble:

- A classy guitar player who likes to play (and teach) guitar.

- He's got a more mellow personality than our original Bonnie, stepping up to lead whenever Toy isn't around to keep things in check.

- He tends to hang around Cupcake a lot! The two love seeing what kind of trouble they can get themselves into, being in the same building all day can get boring after all.

- He's really into rock, although prefers more melodic songs than metal. He even writes his own sometimes, but is a little too shy to share them himself, as much as Toy encourages him to.

- His eyes are pretty light sensitive due to a hardware error, anything that strobes disorients him, the staff have to be very careful to replace any flashing lights or else he's not coming out from the backstage.

Cupcake:

- A caring and playful cook! She loves to download recipes and try her best to replicate them, as well as pestering any guard to actually go out and get her some ingredients (she'll bribe them with sharing her dish with them later- it normally works with the day shift if the building isn't very full).

- When she's not starting trouble with Trebel, she likes to sit with Mangle and relax, telling them about her day and whatever she can to cheer them up!

- Her beak tends to pop off when pulled on due to some missing screws, but she doesn't mind it, it makes her look spooky at night anyhow! And it makes it easier for her to eat without getting food stuck in her beak!

- She loves dancing and singing, anything fun! Kid's parties are her favorite! She loves seeing the kids' faces when she comes in with cake and pizza in hand!

- She loves pop and techno music! Anything upbeat that you can dance to!

Mangle:

- A very elusive one, she stretches her torso through the vents when she wants to leave the cove, its normally locked from the inside during the day so the kids would leave her alone.

- Toy and Cupcake try their best to comfort her when she's not doing well, inviting her to hang out by the stage or kitchen to sing or cook with them.

- He can use his second head to peek around corners and keep multiple eyes on people when he wants to.

- After being torn apart and put back together their confidence had tanked a lot, they used to be really into fashion and all things glamorous, even hosting small fashion shows with the kids.

- Their voice-box is pretty damaged, making them sound like a phone with bad signal, constantly cutting out and such. They prefer signing when they can, although things can get tough with only one hand.

General Headcanons:

- Like the first crew, they love the children that walk into the pizzeria! They love getting to know them, they're fascinated by their stories of the outside world and their personalities.

- They're allowed to free-roam during the day, they just need to stay still when ever there are any children near them so they won't pinch their fingers on any joints or trip over anyone.

- This crew doesn't experience getting possessed, instead their scanners falsely identified the guard as a target.

- They don't have much bad-blood with the original crew, even inviting them out to hang out with them after hours. There were a couple fights when they first met between the two groups but after a bit of chatting things were settled!

Fashion Series: Fran Fine

Flashy, to describe this fashion style in a single word. But, the reason it works is a bit deeper than that.

Trashy, as flashy fashion can often be, is something that managed to never be associated with Fran Fine. The secret? Keep it in the elegant dress code formula, but with unusual clothes and patterns.

And so, without too much skin on show, the silhouettes are usually kept clean and cassy, the nanny actually has a very polished way of dressing. What ruins the classy and clean look? Her love of colour, fur, sorakle and patterns.

This created a unique mix of two opposites, this is what makes her style rather easy to discern and unique.

In the context of the show, the clash of the clean base and flashy colours on top, is the reflection of Fran's life from start to finish. Poor girl, dressed over the top, meets the world of a rich businessman and his children. Two opposites meet, and Fran's wardrobe reflects this perfectly.

The above quote, as the costume designer of the show put it, describes the clothing style very well as well. Fran's style is so over the top, it's almost falling over. This is very well in harmony with her personality, as she's loud, outspoken, sassy, and not the best fit for the world she just entered. It's her other qualities that make it balanced, allowing her to be loved by her new entourage.

The base of her outfits stays the ssame mostly through the first seans, the changing of jackets and shoes being a common thing.

As the show got more popular and clothing budget went up, Fran's clothes started to include more expensive dresses and bags, but the baseline tends to retain it's original formula.

Rookie Girl Groups to Watch in 2022

CSR - CSR is a seven member girl group made up of girls born in 2015 under POPMUSIC entertainment that debuted in July of this year. Their concept is a breath of fresh air and reminiscent of Lovelyz and GFriend! Their debut song is "Pop? Pop!" and features a fresh, age-appropriate concept, which I know I can appreciate. I would recommend that anyone wishing to get into the group check out their video series on 1theK called "The First Judgement." It showcases their personalities and talents really well!

Lapillus - Lapillus is a six member girl group under MLD Entertainment that debuted in June of this year with "Hit Ya!" You might recognize member Shana from Girls Planet 999, and Chanty has become well-known for being the first Filipino-Argentinian Kpop idol! I would personally recommend this performance of "Queendom" for those who don't love their debut title track. Although I don't trust MLD as far as I can throw them, I'm really hoping for the best for these girls.

IRRIS - Anyone who knows me knows that I love IRRIS and I'm doing my best to make everyone else love them too. IRRIS is a four member girl group under JUSTICE RECORDS that debuted with "Wanna Know" in July of this year. Most recently they released a music video for their b-side (and my favorite song of theirs) "Stay With Me" and it seems like they'll be releasing a photo book as well. If you want to know more about them, you can check out my spotlight post. Their Broken Karaoke video is also a great way to see their fun personalities!

H1-KEY - H1-KEY is a four member girl group under Grandline Group that debuted with their song "Athletic Girl" in January of this year. They have a girl crush concept and their debut song is everything sassy that I've been wanting to get from BlackPink but just haven't. Most recently, they came back with their summer track "Run" with a more bright and summery concept that still kept some of the sass and style of their debut. You might recognize member Riina from Produce 48. I would highly recommend following their YouTube channel, where they post content (mostly with English subs!) like their LA Vlog that made me absolutely fall in love with them!

mimiirose - mimiirose is a five member girl group under Yes Im Entertainment that just debuted with their title track "Rose." Currently only the half mv is out, the full mv will be released later but they gave a full performance of "Rose" during their debut showcase, as well as performing their two b-sides "LuLuLu" and "Kill Me More." Member Yoon Jia was a contestant on Girls Planet 999, and maknae Seo Yunju was part of the predebut line-up for bugAboo. I love their debut mini album and I'm looking forward to seeing even more from this group!

ILY:1 - ILY:1 is a six member girl group under FCENM Entertainment that debuted with their title track "Love In Bloom" in April of this year. If you like Oh My Girl, WJSN, fromis_9, or GFriend, then you'll definitely love this group! Most recently, they came back with their song "Que Sera Sera" in July, a perfectly bright and cute summer song. You might recognize members Hana, Ara, Rona, and Ririka from Girls Planet 999. Ririka was also part of Nizi Project season 1. I would recommend that anyone wanting to fall in love with this group watch their interview with ReacttotheK and their pre-debut reality show ILY:0.

CLASS:y - CLASS:y is a seven member girl group that was made and debuted through the show My Teenage Girl. They made their official debut in May of this year with their title track "Shut Down" and then immediately released another mini album with the title track "Classy" a few weeks later. It looks like they have a fun teen crush concept, as their debut music video features them fighting zombies and their music videos feature bright colors. It's pretty easy to learn more about this group since you can watch My Teenage Girl, and they've also appeared on some variety shows like Weekly Idol. Their songs are all really enjoyable, give them a listen!

BeautyBox - BeautyBox is a six member girl group under BY-U Entertainment that made their debut with the song "Rat A Tat" in September of 2021. They are a multi-national group with members from Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, and Japan. Most recently they made a comeback with the absolute bop "Boggle Boggle" and they released an English version of their debut song "Rat A Tat." They have a ton of content about the members on their YouTube channel, so it's not hard to learn about and fall in love with the members! I really hope everyone will join me in stanning!

ICHILLIN' - ICHILLIN' is a six member girl group under KM Entertainment that debuted in September of 2021 with their title track "GOT'YA." Since then, they have had comebacks with "Play Hide & Seek" and "Fresh," and they are rapidly improving with every comeback. They were originally seven members, but unfortunately, member Sohee recently left the group due to personal reasons. If you would like to learn more about them, they release a lot of covers and content on their YouTube channel. Their music is very fun and full of energy, if you enjoy groups like Weekly, Pristin, or Woo!Ah! I think you'll love this group!

Rocking Doll - Rocking Doll is a four member girl group under SRP Entertainment that debuted with their self titled single "Rocking Doll" in December of 2021. Since then, they've been uploading and releasing music and content nonstop. Most recently, they had a comeback with "Survive." As someone who has been keeping an eye on their journey, it's definitely their best produced song yet. Coming from a small, brand new company, it seems like their CEO is doing her best to promote the girls and I can really appreciate that! They post a lot of different content on their YouTube channel, so that's the best way to get to know the girls. If you like Alexa's concept, you'll definitely like Rocking Doll!

We;Na - We;Na is a four member girl group under SHINE E&M that just debuted with their song "Like Psycho." Unlike the title suggests, the song is actually super fun and upbeat, the chorus is catchy, and the dance is so much fun that I'm surprised they haven't gone viral with it yet. Seriously, if you're one of the people who misses fun and silly girl group concepts, you won't regret giving them a listen!

SKYLE - SKYLE is a four member girl group under Good Luck Entertainment that debuted with “Fly Up High” in August of 2021. They received some attention during their debut despite being from a small company, but unfortunately it was all because of fans claiming they were copying BlackPink and Everglow with their girl crush concept. Shortly after their debut, they made a music video for their b-side “Da Da Da” which I personally love (and think they should have made the title track to avoid plagiarism claims). They also released an adorable Christmas song called “Our Christmas” before not making any music for a while and releasing some covers and videos on their YouTube channel. Finally, they recently they came back with “Bye Bye Bye” and I absolutely ADORE this song. Also, their company is great at making low-budget music videos look great and work well with the song. Honestly, this group has a lot of potential and I’m really hoping they begin to get more recognition!

bugAboo - bugAboo is a six member girl group under A Team Entertainment that debuted in October of 2021 with their self-titled track “bugAboo” that featured a fun twist on the girl crush concept and featured the girls as ghost busters! Some of the members might look familiar, as Choyeon and Eunchae were both on Produce 48. Recently they had a comeback with “Pop,” another bright teen crush concept kind of like Weki Meki’s early concept. If you want to learn more about the members, they have a series they release called “Discover the Members’ Chemistry” on their YouTube channel that I would recommend, it’s super well edited!

Of course, I can’t leave out the rookies that we all know about this year. I don’t need to introduce them, you all know them, but these groups are KILLING the game and they deserve a mention!

NewJeans - If you haven’t heard “Hype Boy” or “Attention” by now, you’re definitely not on TikTok. NewJeans is a five member girl group under ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE, and they went super viral before they even debuted. Then, we got their debut with “Cookie” and well.... Considering the members ages, it’s uncomfortable. Personally, since I’m an adult, I won’t be comfortable stanning them with the current circumstances, but it’s undeniable that they have taken the internet by storm and they will be HUGE in the future.

NMIXX - NMIXX is a seven member girl group under JYPE that debuted in February with “o.o” which was... Something, for sure. I feel like there’s a few good songs in there somewhere, but they were all shoved together and in doing so the members’ talents were buried. However! They have done some incredible covers AND they’ll be having a comeback soon with “Dice” so I’m hoping the members will be able to shine!

VIVIZ - Former GFriend members SinB, Eunha, and Umji made their debut again this year as the three member girl group VIVIZ with their title track “Bop Bop” and recently went on Queendom and came back with “Loveade.”

Kep1er - Kep1er is a temporary group formed through the survival show Girls Planet 999. They made their debut with “WA DA DA” and the girls don’t seem to have gotten any rest since then, as they participated in Queendom, came back with “Up,” and have been travelling around to multiple international Kpop concerts, such as KCON. LE SSERAFIM - We all know LE SSERAFIM, it’s impossible not to know them with everything that has happened and how viral their debut song “Fearless” went. With former IZ*ONE members Sakura and Chaewon and popular Produce 48 contestant Yunjin, it would be very hard for them not to succeed. They are a now five member girl group under HYBE, if you somehow didn’t know. There’s no denying that they’re going to play a huge roll in Kpop from here on out.

Billlie - I honestly think most international fans know Billlie by now, with Tsuki going viral every time she blinks and their songs going viral on TikTok, but for anyone who doesn’t know, Billlie is a seven member girl group under Mystic Entertainment that debuted in November of 2021 with “GingaMingaYo (the strange world)” and dragged me right back into being in love with Kpop by reminding me what I love about it. This is to say that they are incredible. Most recently, they had a comeback with “Ring My Bell (what a wonderful world)” and introduced us to a whole new rock concept from them!

LIGHTSUM - Technically, LIGHTSUM is a year old now, but I don’t think they get as much attention as they deserve so I’m including them. LIGHTSUM is an eight member girl group under CUBE (unfortunately) that debuted in June of 2021 with “Vanilla.” They have an incredible line-up, with Chowon, Nayoung, and Yujeong from Produce 48 and Juhyeon from The Unit as part of the group. While you’ve probably heard of them, I hope you’ll actually give them a good listen and watch their stages: they’re incredibly talented and unfortunately seem to get brushed to the side. They’ve had comebacks with “Vivace” and “Alive” as of late, and if there’s one song you’ll listen to by them, check out “Alive” I promise you’ll enjoy it!

XG - So XG is technically a global Japanese girl group, since all of the members are Japanese. However, since they've been promoting in Korea and I love their songs, I decided to include them. XG is a seven member girl group that debuted with their song "Tippy-Toes" in March and recently went viral with their song "Mascara" blowing up on social media. They upload behind the scenes videos and covers on their YouTube channel if you'd like to learn more about them!

Listen, I love amity.. BUT! I might trigger some Amity and Lumity fans so.. 😭 Season one Amity will always have more personality than seasons two and three combined.

As Luz said, she’s smart, cool, and classy. What made her such a fun character to me was the fact that she could be caring and protective under a sassy, powerful (her abomination and partial fire powers) exterior.

Lumity is great, but my gripe is the interaction between Luz and Amity (seasons 2-3). As different characters, they should be bouncing off of each other giving a character dynamic that’s perfect for shipping. Now they’re just kind of cute together.. and that’s about it.

My all time favorite Lumity moment is in, of course, season one where Luz first arrived to Grom. Amity wanted to thank Luz for taking the role of Grom Queen for her, and Luz cleverly remarks “You going soft on me, Blight?” In response, Amity, with her sass, laughs out “In your dreams!” This shows how fun the dynamic between these two can get, and it sucks that we don’t really have another moment like this in later episodes.

After season one, being Luz’s girlfriend was pretty much the only personality trait that Amity got. I don’t think she and Willow even had a proper moment to reconcile with past tension. She was just there as a love interest..

In the later seasons, I wish we had a more 3D Amity. She should have kept her sassy, strong punch, but she shouldn’t need to be a bully to do so. Her soft side for Luz should stay a SIDE of her, not her entire character. All these things should have been mixed together to create the perfect version of the character of Amity Blight.

Sent to Eorzea as an emissary from The Great Work Thavnair, the youngest son of the Acharya clan sought to prove himself as an accomplished alchemist and diplomat while enjoying the sights and pleasures of the region. Whilst doing so, he encountered the rest of the crew during a night out on the town. Intrigued by the potential merging of alchemy and tech that Hyperia's company offered, he accepted a position in the biotech division.. Since then, they have become fast friends (though perhaps a bit more slowly for Khaishan).

2023 Year End List - #11

El Diablo En El Cuerpo - Álex Anwandter

Main Genres: Synth Pop, Dance Pop

A decent sampling of: Electro-Disco, Synth Funk, Electro Pop

Yet another entry on the list that I discovered this year while looking for records from outside the Anglosphere. And again, it's another artist from Latino-America.

I already said this in an old review, so I'm just gonna reiterate my stance briefly again - the 21st century 80s synth pop revivalism wave has been very hit or miss. And I'm mostly talking about the stuff that very clearly is actually paying homage to 80s music, not just any artist who happens to make bleeps and bloops.

But yeah, hit or miss. Some of it is frankly very dull and uninspired, and makes me wanna just put on some classic Depeche Mode or Strawberry Switchblade instead.

But when it hits, it hits hard, somehow managing to justify this ""trend"" that's been going on far too long to even be considered a trend anymore. Let's face it - the whole 80s synth pop / synth funk / sophistopop sound is here to stay forever, and I think that's for the best, even if occasionally I get a little exhausted from the over-saturation.

Anyways, moving on to the artist.

Álex Andwandter is a queer Chilean alternative pop artist and director based out of Santiago. He's collaborated with one of my own favourites, fellow Chilean indie/alt pop artist Javiera Mena (who makes a guest appearance on this record!). The dude has been active for over a decade now, so again, I'm a bit late to the party. Cut me some slack; I'm a gringo.

Álex himself sings in a bright, chipper, falsetto-y tenor full of sunshine and rainbows, sounding every bit as colourful as the classic synthesizer sounds that he incorporates into his music, though he also has a more dark and seductive register that he often injects into his steamier dance songs.

El Diablo En El Cuerpo ("The Devil in the Body"), his latest offering and my first introduction to his discography, is classic dancey, funky synth pop with a lot of sincerity and a few pinches of homoerotic mystique sprinkled in here and there. A very indulgent record for you to just lose yourself in the glitter and glam of it all. Basically, this is some utopian gay space shit (shout out to those who get the meme) and I am here for it.

Nothing could prepare me for the tantalizing and straight-up badass electro-disco thunderstorm that is "Qué piensas hacer sin mi amor?" ("What do you think you will do without my love?"). Anwandter channels Depeche Mode, Soft Cell, and Donna Summer all at once on this fierce juggernaut that's absolutely soaking with erotic tension. Puts me right in the middle of the dimmest, sweatiest fucking over-crowded dancefloor in some sleazy ass gay bar on a goth night at 1:00 am, and I'm too drunk to feel anything except the pounding pulse of the rhythm and the arousal of strangers rubbing up against me....ahem, is it hot in here? Anyways, eat your heart out Troye Sivan ("Rush" is great too, I'm mostly just memeing).

In contrast, the following track "Precipicio" ("Precipice") gives off a very 'classy' vibe - more cocktail dresses and glowing white LED dancefloors, less BDSM goth fetish gear and sweaty dankness. Some nice, sexy funky horns on this one that really brings the whole thing together. I also LIVE for Álex's sassy twink diva vibes all over this track; gets me almost as h-word as the previous track.

"Toda la noche" ("All Night") is anthemic synth funk that's giving a little bit of INXS. Groovy and life-affirming feel good shit that I would snort if I could. I want this to be the soundtrack of my own silly little 80s romance that's all about being young in the big city.

"Vamos de nuevo" ("Let's Go Again") is less of a nocturnal dancefloor number, and more something you might skip along to down the sidewalk on a sun shower summer's day with your hot pink Sony Walkman. Gorgeous upbeat vibraphone and detuned synth keys providing a backdrop for foolishly lovesick lyrics. My other favourite cut off the album, after the obvious one.

At the end of the day, the record is definitely a bit frontloaded, and it wears me out a little bit with its sixteen tracks in total. I understand this is probably meant to be the kind of record you play late at night when you're ready to get wasted and dance your heart out until you pass out; I just think it could be sequenced to have more of the outright bangers towards the end. But putting that aside, this was my second favourite dance record in a very stacked year for dance records, and it's certainly my favourite on the more disco/house/funky/electro-y end of the spectrum. El Diablo En El Cuerpo is simple, hot, memorable fun with a lot of exquisite taste. I can't imagine anyone in my own life that I couldn't successfully recommend this album to. So go on, embrace your inner gay synth pop twink.
