I find that planning digital activities with irl friends is often lackadaisical to the point of failure (it's 70 gigs and we're starting in five minutes and you haven't hit 'download' yet?) and I do wonder how much of that is simple personality difference vs like. If you're planning an ice cream hang out, the only hurdle is ensuring you're both at the shop at once, give or take 10 minutes. However if you're chronically online, you're used to coordinating game or movie nights with 15 people in seven countries and you'd better have the app downloaded and your laundry done and your laptop charged because you can't push back the time or the Londoners will be up until 3 AM and you can't start early bc Midwesterners are still at work and you can't do it tomorrow because it's Canada Day and. u see what I'm saying
