A lar gibbon or white handed gibbon looks at visitors in the zoo as he sits on it's resting place. Lar gibbons are mostly found in Thailand, Malaysia and Burma. They mostly eat fruits and leaves and very peaceful animals. Their existence is being threatened due to pet trade, hunting and deforestation. They are now an endangered species. Scientists have discovered a new species of blind fish named Schistura larketensis inside a cave in East Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya. The species has apparently lost its sight living in the perpetual darkness inside the cave.Small and faintly blackish spot-like depressions are seen in place of eyes, indicating evolutionary and morphological adaptations. A Chinese alligator basks in the sun to warm itself. Chinese alligators are smaller in size compared to the American alligators. They are mostly found in China along the Yangtze river. Today, they are critically endangered and found in only a small area in China. They are threatened by acquired habitat due to farming and deforestation. Also many of them are killed for bush meat and falsely considered to be cure for ailments. Today there are only 150 of them left in the world. The Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) is one of the UK's most familiar and charismatic birds of prey. Over the course of the last 40 years, however, increasing pressures from agricultural intensification and changes in land use have contributed to a substantial decline in the size of their UK population.
