His gums are pale, his membranes are dry, and his rectum is filled with maggots. We know that maggots feed on dead tissue, so this is a very ominous sign. In my other life I foster rescue kittens that would otherwise have no options. My girls BaeBi and Boo after their first and very successful adoption enquiry meet and greet. All went well and they fell in love with my girls. How could they not? Next week on Saturday arvo I'll do a house check and then they'll start their 2 week adoption trial. Oral examination revealed a gingival growth approximately 1.0x0.50x0.50cm in dimension on the right lower buccal mucosa. Molars that were next to the mass are missing. Gingival erythema and gingival recession- generalized. Crown lesions on #104/204. Teats are prominent and p is lactating. P will need to be scheduled for OVH and dental extractions and mass removal. The Girls: 🏥🚨Rescue Only -Medical 🏥🚨 ID Number : A1116668 & A1116669, 6 weeks, Both Females, Weights : 1.4 / 1.2 Meet Layla and Reyna , these girls were brought in with two other siblings that have medical issues too but aren't as bad as these two . Medical Notes: Noted to be eating well . 🔷Layla A1116668 -OD-globe is perforated almost proposed. Severe epiphora and crusting as well as painful. All else appeared WNL. No nasal discharge or sneezing noted. A:r/o: 1. Traumatic injury to the eye-OD 🔷Reyna A1116669 -OD-severe periocular edema and pain, epiphora, chemosis. Otherwise p appears normal and healthy. Sally was brought to us as a stray. Upon intake the cat had noticeable injuries to her face. She was treated with pain meds while she has been here and our fill in vet was able to examine her and found that the left eye is swollen and will eventually need to be removed, the right eye looked ok. Did not feel any broken bones but is worried about a spinal cord injury. She will continue treatment while here. Sally is about 6 months old, 6 pounds, unaltered female, and fully vaccinated. Upon examination our medical team notice that the pet had pale pink gums, he was unable to stand on both hind legs, although is able to move and feel the left hind leg. No movement seen in his tail so far, blood does appear to be seeping from his prepuce and anus. (has since stopped). Did appear to be interested in food and water but hasn't eaten yet and his breathing when brought in was rapid but has since calmed down. After the x-rays were looked at by our vet, he seems to have a fractured pelvis. He is a very sweet boy but requires medical care we can not provided here at the shelter. Sway needs a live outcome by 3/23. Reposted from @urgentcatstx URGENT IN LONGVIEW, TX! JINX NEEDS RESCUE! Jinx is a long haired, handsome boy who was found outside of the Lowe's in Longview, TX right before the snow storm last month. The staff at Lowe's loved him so much that they kept him...inside of Lowe's...for a month. Jinx loved them too, and he was happy at the store! Unfortunately, Lowe's with all of the chemicals, plants that could be toxic to him, and rat poison that had been put out, was not a safe place for Jinx to stay. One of the employees brought him to the shelter hoping we could find him a safe home. The first thing we noticed was that he was ear tipped and he was neutered. Then we saw that he had an injured eye. Finally, we did a combo test and he was FIV+. We checked with our local TNR group, but since he is FIV+, and because of his eye injury, he will not be able to be an outdoor kitty anymore. Jinx is a sweet boy. He is sad that he had to leave his Lowe's family, but he can be held, petted, and loved on. He was very tolerant of all of his vetting and never hissed or growled at staff. She has been terrified, one staff member has been able to handle her minimally. She spends her time curled into the corner of her cage, hiding. She has not been eating well, even wet food. Meet Mr. Adorable, a 9-month old tuxedo boy, who is having a bit of trouble walking. After a few vet visits, we quickly determined that the cause of his wobbly legs, shaking head, and Horner's syndrome was a polyp in his middle ear behind his eardrum. Normally these can be removed easily, but in his case it is small and hiding, so he is going to require a more extensive and delicate surgery to remove the polyp to get him walking straight again. We are excited to know that with this surgery, he is expected to regain full use of his legs and his head shakes will go away as well. It does come with a high price tag. Mr. Adorable's medical care will cost approximately $3500. He is so worth it though! We could not do this without the generosity of our supporters.
