Dragon bard ain't a meme anymore

So. It's real. I did it. By pure coincidence I created a DnD character who was a dragon that got turned into an elf. I plan to multiclass into bard because my negotiating skills are already hella sick and she loves to perform. Well. Last week I was joking about how she and the BBEG Vampire are each other's arch nemesis' and the other characters betting that "Ten gold says they're dating by the end of the year." And... Yeah. She sort'a bumped into him while the village another PC is in charge of were winding down their week long summer solstice festivities. She decided since he was just minding his business she would be cordial. Learned a bunch of interesting things he had insight into and without even rolling I basically "Seduced/persuaded" him into considering being allies. She even asked if he wanted to dance and the DM I guess rolled for him to... what? Resist her natural charms? He didn't say what exactly but yeah. That's how the session ended and now everyone's joking about the Dragon bard that seduces people. And joking about Twilight because one of the PCs is a werewolf. I'm sorry Vashti for making books your hoard so you decided to use the "Shall we dance" trope to reel him in. I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

Sumeru

I don't know what it is about Sumeru but it was a good Archon arch. From the moment Aether fainted that first time and woke up to Paimon absolutely frantic it's like I the player actually formed a bond with her and feel "Yeah... We are best friends!" Like, I dunno. Her emotions of concern felt so much more real and I felt her genuine care and friendship. I think Sumeru brought us closer together lol. I don't even mind that she speaks in third person anymore and I can't tell you how much I HATE chibi cutesy kawaii third person speaking sidekicks.

The Thief of names.

In a time when people are better able to spot fae creatures, everyone knows not to answer "May I have your name?" with their real name, for fear that they will literally take it. You, a mere human with no magic, are in the business of stealing names for fairies. How do you do it?

Barbra: Rosaria Important event is happening we need you- Rosaria: *slew of asholery* Me: I don't know anything about this game's politics but isn't Barbra her boss? Because If I know one thing about Nuns it's that Barbra ought to take a ruler to that girl's ass for that sass. The goth nun too cool for school making her edgy habit not up to code. Mmmm-hmmm. She did make some excellent points later though about helping Albedo blindly but boyyyyy I do not like her. How and why did she become a Nun if she obviously doesn't want to be one (If I ever get her I probs won't read the backstory. I kind'a don't read those.)?

Receiver of friends from afar

I don't like doing events in Genshin impact as it breaks immersion for me to run into characters I haven't met yet from places I haven't been yet and be all "Hello again!" But I accidently started "Receiver of Friends from afar." Despite my annoyance I was excited to see them try the dish I made and when they all dithered looking unhappy I have to admit I irl teared up and imagined Aether(I play Aether) doing the same.

I'd love to draw that scene as I imagine it but I tried once to draw a comic of a different event annnnd. Those outfits are just too darn complicated for me. It melts my brain and I end up drawing poor scribbles.

Felt like drawing a silly valentine's day card featuring my rogue, Jack. Might do other party members, or Navine, but just feeling so horribly tired and uncreative.

Did this before the Jack one. I saw a comic base template on pinterest and plugged some characters in. I was told by the guys that this is in fact something the character would say for certain so I was spot on, lol.

This didn't happen during a sessions but Jack once mentioned that at his home he takes care of some mice and rats. So this idea came into my head as a very "Jack" thing to happen in his down time after the party dispersed to go live their lives for a bit. I have another comic I did first which I'll post in a min, and that comic was what inspired me to put effort into this one. Took me like a week and five pages. Wow.

weird girl Genshin Impact

Weird girl: Hello again will you help me talk to the hillichurls again? (I've met her before.)

Me: Ummmm. Suuuurrrre... Weird girl: Approach that one there carefully so we don't wake up the others and I can talk to him. Me: *Does as told to the T.* Hilichurls: *Go batshit crazy attacking me through the cut seen as girl talks to no one.*

Cutscene: *Over* Me: *Commence protecting myself through violence until every single one is dead.* Weird girl: Well that went splendidly! Me: ..... are you dead? Like are you a delusional ghost going through these motions?

Digital world

I reallllllllllllllllllllllly hate when I see something like "How to improve your anatomy" and I click the vid only to see it involving drawing digitally with a tablet. like I go to this site and draw directly on the blah blah to blah blah" or "How to improve line art: Shows how to make different brush types in some art program. As a traditional artists who has never had the money for these things... I am so hurt...

writing prompt follow up

A story prompt following the snippet exercise anyone can feel free to use. --A powerful mage helped a kingdom win a war and put the rightful heir on the throne. Although offered a position working for the king, they instead return to their little village to live a quiet life. But they are betrayed, someone sending out a kill order because of the fear that the mage will one day take the kingdom over.

After hashing out the ridiculous logic of this with the one time friend who came to kill him along with some soldiers, the mage is left again to his own devices as he wants. The old friend goes back to also say "This is stupid logic, Mage would have taken the position to gain power politically to take over, not try to attack/would have attacked already."

Mage assumes all is water under the bridge until a strange assassin shows up. Knowing their old friend well, they're pretty sure someone else is gunning for the kingship and trying to take out a powerful ally ahead of time.

So the mage fakes their death and creates a new identity and disguise to return to the kingdom and get to the bottom of whether the king is in danger or something else is going on...

Got inspired by the typical "Powerful/magical person helps guy become King, is double-crossed due to fear of their powers.

The Sorcerer raised an eyebrow at the soldiers surrounding him.

“Let me get this straight, General… Because someone thinks I’m capable of taking over the kingdom, the one I helped you regain and crown the now king over, that equates to me wanting to take it from him?”

The General let out an awkward mumble as he tried to find the words to reply.

The Sorcerer continued sarcastically, “Am I understanding this correctly? Because I believe my words were, and pardon if they’re not exact, ‘Now that all is well, I’m going to go live quietly in my old village and just focus on the healing arts I have neglected for so long.’ Because, you know,” he looked at his hands cuffed together, “We were fighting a war.”

He shrugged and sighed, “And it’s over. What exactly is this paranoia and is it really the King’s? Or someone else’s? Because this sounds like the kind of ploy an enemy of the young king would use to get rid of his old allies. Your position might be next. Some trumped up war crimes, or something.”

When the General tried to give some excuses (half-assed in the Sorcerer’s opinion.) he interrupted with:

“No, think about it. You know politics. If I wanted to take over the kingdom, realistically, I would have taken that position I was offered in the king’s service in order to stay close to him. Close where I could manipulate our young friend who put so much faith in me. Don’t you think that’s more plausible? Win a kingdom without causing chaos? Go from war to politics rather than… What? Bide my time pointlessly and strike later if I’m already powerful enough to do it?”

The General, sighed, then chuckled, “You have such a way with words. And as I know you, they are generally always honest.”

The Sorcerer snorted, “And correct.”

It was the general’s turn to snort, “You’re reaching a little there. But you know how it is. Orders…” he looked the Sorcerer up and down thoughtfully, “So now I have to work around this kill order, since I am a reasonable man who sees your defense is perfectly reasonable.”

“I wish you wouldn’t do that.”

“What?”

“Use a word twice like that. I’m not a zealot for grammar but I feel like you’re trying to be funny and it’s not flying. You always do that.”

“I speak how I speak, Sorcerer, is this the time to get snippy?”

The Sorcerer’s light frown deepened, “It’s the perfect time!” he continued to snip, “I was in the middle of something important to me. Not in the grand scheme of things, but you know how I like to finish a task before tending to a new one. I have to get my pent up frustration out in bits and sarcasm so I don’t do something really foolish like try to leave before this is settled. Because as we both know I could take a lot of you down with me if I let it build and don’t find a constructive outlet.”

“And sarcasm is constructive now is it?”

“If it rings of truth then yes.”

“Ah, this is why I don’t miss you.”

“I don’t miss you, too.”

The two old companions smiled wryly at each other. Ah, this week was off to a great start.

Getting a game reward for being struck by lightning for the first time in Genshin Impact gave me questions and I don't know if I'll ever be the same. Was it a consolation prize for getting hurt? What's next? Max fall damage prize?
